Assembly running for hours

Hi All,
We are facing a peculiar problem here.We had some activities(that were checked in,activated and released)which were to be transported using NWDI.We did an "Import" in the Consolidation tab,and the activities moved into the Assembly tab.
We did an "Assemble Components" then and while the activities were getting assembled(Status was shown as "Assembly Running"),there was a problem with the server and it had to be rebooted.
Even after the reboot, the activities showed the status as "Assembly Running".The activites have been running for many hours now.We tried restarting the server again but find the assembly still running.
We found the following error log[in http://<hostname>:port/nwa link] on the server:
User Guest, IP address HTTP request processing failed. HTTP error [401] will be returned. The error is [Cannot authenticate the user.No details available].
And the following warning message:
Caught java.net.ConnectException: A remote host refused an attempted connect operation.
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Native Method)
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.doConnect(PlainSocketImpl.java:336)... [see details]
Kindly help us with the solution.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Shalini

Hi Shalini,
if the server was rebooted during assembly the assembly is not really running anymore. Usually it is just the CMS WebUI that still hangs in that state.
There should be a "Reset" button in the assembly pane where you reset and then restart assembly.

Marc

  • Discoverer report running for hours

    Hi,
One of the custom discoverer report (based on custom SQL) is running for hours.
When U ran the query for the respective folder, the results were returned in few seconds.
Hence, data size is not an issue. How can I identify the cause and solve it?
    Thanks,
    Kamath.

    Hello
If you dont need to run the report urgently then you can always schedule it to run the background till it is finished.
First log into desktop. Select tools > options > query governor tab. Make sure only radio button named "Never" is ticked. Leave all other options empty / not ticked. Click OK when ur done.
Then go to File > Manage Workbooks > Scheduling Manager > Schedule.... button then choose either My Computer or Database depending on where your report is stored. Scroll down and find your report. Enter a time and date that you want to start running the report. When you are done click Finish button. Normally the report would run for an hour or till it is complete. But it won't bomb out.
After 2 hours or even the next morning go to File > Manage workbooks > then look for your report > if it has run successfully then the status column would return something positive like "completed successfully". just double click your report and your are done....
It works for me if i need to run one of my reports. but that is only if your not in a rush to run your report
    Hope it helps

The next time I open FF, it appears again and again same happens.
If there is an urgent update, how urgent is it if I cannot download it.It's worries me that i can,t load it and how it might affect my security.

It would be a great idea to uninstall Norton - you don't need it and it has a pretty poor reputation for mucking up otherwise healthy Macs.
Have a look at this User Tip from klaus1: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2435
    To uninstall Norton:
    https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080427024142EN_En dUserProfile_en_us
Edit: To see whether you actually have Norton installed launch Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. If it's installed you'll likely see some Norton entries there.
Also, in System Preferences>Users & Groups or Accounts, depending on OS)>Login Items, it might be listed.

  • EPM System Configurator runs for hours

    Hi experts.
Have you ever experienced that your EPM system configurator runs for hours?
I have an 11.1.2.1 installation, and a few months ago, I applied a Reporting & Analysis patch which requires a redeploy of FR, framework and web analysis.
The redeployment took more than 1 hour 20 minutes when it usually takes around 10 minutes.

I checked the CPU and memory log at the time of the deployment, things seem to be normal.
Since i will be applying another patch on Reporting & Analysis soon, I am preparing the work plan and rundowns and I am trying to estimate how much time I need to do this patch.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
I did some researches on my own and found out some article saying the following:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/epm-tips-issues-73-up-399995.pdf
On page 103, it says something about the cluster or IPv6 problem. I don't think the IPv6 is our problem, and I couldn't find the log inside of my configtool log.
    Thank you.

If it only happened once and then all the other occasions it was fine then what is to say it will happen again? I am not sure how easily you are going to find your answer to why it happened on that occasion, I know I was deploying a web application the other day and it took 30 mins when it should only take a few but this was on a shared vm infrastructure which could have been the cause.
    Cheers

  • Repair Permissions runs for hours

Following an update from Mavericks to Yosemite 10.10, I find that when I use the Disk Utility to repair permissions, it runs for hours, seemingly repairing every one of the 680,000 files on the iMac. If I reboot, and repair permissions again, it begins the same long process all over again. Should I re-install Yosemite from an online source?

Does the last line of output say that permission repair completed successfully? If so, what you see is normal. Repairing permissions is a waste of time and always produces reams of meaningless warnings.

  • I've tried to troubleshoot downloading Firefox but it won't open on Windows XP. The Firefox Update box with the hour glass symbol runs for hours. Then I have trouble even shutting down. When I click on Firefox, no window, program won't quit, etc....

Windows XP. I used to use Firefox and it worked okay. I'm not sure why I downloaded a new version but it won't open. The window that says "Firefox Update" continues to try to load. Hour glass symbol, for hours. If I try to click on the Desktop symbol, Nothing. Then when I try to shut down, it's slow, programs won't quit, or it freezes. I've removed Firefox completely and tried downloading again with the same results. Even with the latest version. Shit. Whassup?

Hi zenithtwc, to test whether this is a settings issue, could you do a three-minute experiment?
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
''Don't delete anything here.'' Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Click the Create Profile button, assign a name like Test731, and skip the option to change the folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
    Can it reach the internet?
When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • MRP Run for Hourly basis in MD61 Transaction

    Hi All,
I want to Run MRP for Hourly basis in MD61 Transaction
If the user selects the Planning period as Hourly then in the next screen for Table Tab , 24 columns should be appear.
    Please give the solution.
    Thanks
    Ulhas

    Dear Vijesh,
according to scenario described , the correct strategy to use il  strategy 40 as corretly suggest also kiran.
After create planning forecast through MD61 you can create immediately active you plan and after the system also before to run MRP planning will see the requirmenet ( Pir ) and it will work according to new sales order.
Sales order are going to reduce Planned indipendent requirement until to arrive zero quantity in MD04 (situation in with will there are only sales orders).
This information is avalible to standard SAP also in tcode MD73 but only with limited selection (qty assign)
You can use also Fm to read MRP situation in order to have a control report so that to monitorig the % of sales order and the planned indipendent requirement.
Let me know if i have been useful for you..

  • IMac Harware Test runs for hours, repairpermission too

My iMac G5 started having failures last year already. So I first ran Disk Warrior and everything turned out well for a while. But now, the system started showing the endless rotating whell when booting, and I could not do an Archive and Install. So I diagnosed a HD failure and bought a new HD.
I reinstalled everything via Carbon Copy Cloner and did and Archive and Install. But obviously the permissions were wrong and Disk Util took ages trying to repait them. So I decided to boot in Single User Mode and tried to run Applejack wich also seemed to step on the spot after finding some "bad Alloc[157]...etc". So I threw in Apple Hardwae Test and ran a full checkup and as it turns out, it gets stuck when checking the RAM, so I stopped it after 1 hour.
Does anybody have a clue of what might be wrong? How shall I determine what is rong when Hardware Test stops in the middle? Is it the RAM? How should I find out?
    mat

    Hello,
You re absolutely right. I did too many things at the
    same time.
Yes, repairs and trouble-shooting need to be done systematically. And, it needs to be done with tools appropriate to the task.
Using one tool to do this, and then another tool to fix the first tools mistakes, and then jumping to another one just doesn't work well.
I finally reinstalled the system and tomorrow, while
    I'm at work,
Yes, that will be the way to go.
You should consider that while you are at work, the system will be sitting there completed. So, if your fans run full speed while in the diagnostic test (I cannot remember for sure if they did or not on my system), then they will continue to do so until you come back.
I don't know if I'd leave the computer there for 8 hours with fans at full speed and the screen unmoving on maximum brightness. That just doesn't sound ideal to me.
I think perhaps I'd demonstrate exactly what you want done to your wife (or someone else if someone else is home), and request them to do that for you to get the machine up and running for you about 2 and a half hours before you get home.
I'll have Hardware Test running at home.
I was just quite exasperated because Hardware Test
said it would take about 15 Min, so after an hour, I
    thought it was stuck.
    That's understandable.
I promise to be a goob boy now and stop thinking my
Mac was a box of Lego where I can unbuild and rebuild
    everything like I please.
    Yes. Computers don't like that
Let us know how it works out.

  • McAfee runs for hours and hours

My PC is old so this may be the problem but any help would be appreciated.  Broadband check shows acceptable levels.  Don't get thousands of emails and am good at file managing. Don't have graphic packages or games running but do have lots of photos.  Since changing from AVG to McAfee this virus checker can literally run for 12 hours or more which slows down absolutely everything that I want to do so I is not an effective option and really frustrating.  Automatic Updates are on and at the moment have changed virus check from weekly to daily to see if this speeds things up. Any tips?

I would uninstall Macafee and then use MSE which is free.  you may need this if you decide to get rid of Macafee http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS101331

  • Firefox keeps prompting an update, but can't complete it. It gets stuck on "Connecting to the Server" and runs for hours until I stop it. Help!

I have a Mac OS X ver. 10.5.8 and I've used Firefox on it since I got it 3 years (?) ago. The most recent update for both Firefox and Thunderbird keeps prompting me, but when I say "yes" to update, a bar appears with lines moving through it and it says, "Connecting to the update Server" but it never gets any farther. I've left it for hours at a time and it won't actually update either program.

If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

  • I just purchased an ipod shuffle (4th gen.) and  I have been working trying to get it running for hours.  I have followed all manuals and tutorial help.  When I pull up my device manager, it shows an Ipod, but won't let me download the Usb driver.

I just purchased and IPod Shuffle (4th gen.) and can't get it running.  I have gone through all of the help available.  It shows up in my device manager, but needs a USB driver.  It will find it online, but says an error has occurred and access is denied instead of installing.  I bought this for a last minute trip with teenagers and I have spent hours on this.  I am running Windows 7 and have tried disabling the firewall.

  • I started the Iphoto update and it had been running for hours to upgrade my photo library

Today I ran my updates that were available.  One was for Safari and one was for Iphoto.  I restarted my computer and went to my Iphotos.  It has been showing upgrade for six hours and still nothing.  It just continues to show that it is upgrading my library.  I had not read anything about this as I trusted that it run would smoothly.  Now I am seeing that there have been problems and that I should have backed up my photos.  Is there hope that it is still trying to upgrade my photos?

It's not upgrading your photos, it's upgrading the Library.
Try force quit iPhoto (it's in the Apple Menu) and cross your fingers that there has been no damage.
If there has been damage post back.
