Assembly type prob in requirement class

Hi experts,
Can anybody do help me on assembly type in requirement class. Our end user has created new req class along with assembly type "2". Now i am changing it to "0" but system threws error message like "Switching to assembly type 0 is not vallid" how to resolve this?
your reply would greatly appreciated
adv thanks
anifi

Hi,
I donot know the reason but this cannot be done even if you remove assignment in OVZH.
If you copied from a req class with assy type 2 or created a new req class with assy type 2 and saved it, it cannot be changed.
So you can better delete it and copy from a reqmt class with assembly type 0 and maintain all the settings that you required in your original reqmt class.
I will let you know if i come to know why this constraint has been defined.

Ashok

  • "Valuation" field in requirement class

    Hi Experts,
Could you please explain the difference between
    1) "Valuation" field in requirement class
           and
    2) "Consumption" field in account assignment category field (assigned in requirement class)
    Thanks,
    GAN
Edited by: DSK on Feb 8, 2012 3:26 AM

    Hi,
Valuation field defines the whether the sales order stock should be valuated or non valuated.
    Consumption indicator functions as follows.
If the sales order is assigned with any cost objects like cost center, order etc it will get consumption indicator in delivery document
    in the following strategy.....
1> Delivery item category assigned to requirement type - OVZI
2> Requirement type assigned to requirement class - OVZH
3> Requirement class has the consumption indicator - OVZG
When you create delivery, system will determine delivery item category and it pull all the values from the requirement class associated with tha item category. This is the way it gets consumption indicator .

  • Requirement types & requirement class for trading goods.

    Dear all,
I am working on a project in which there are only trading goods. Majority of the items are make to order & few are make to stock.
For the make to order scenario, what will be the requirements type & requirements class to be used for the trading goods. Which item category is to be used......will it be TAN or different......
For the make to stock scenario, what will be the requirements type & requirements class to be used for the trading goods. Which item category is to be used......TAN cannot be used here as it will be used in the MTO scenario so diffferent controls.
What control parameters should I take care of while defining the requirements class & requirement type.
    With best regards,
    Niyaz Sayyed.

    Hi,
As my understanding,  You should copy a new requirement class and make the following parameters and its values.
       For Requirements,
          req.transfer is X
          Allocation ind. is 1
          Prod.allocation is X
         No MRP is blank
      For assembly
                    assembly type is 2,
                     order costing is X,
                     Special stock is E,
                     order type is ZXXX
You can refer to the sap standard MTO strategy 20 to complete your project. This is the most important parts defining the requirements for sales and distribution module.

  • Assembly type in Req class

    Hello,
Can someone please explain the use and application of 4 options of assembly type . What is the difference between static and dynamic processing.
    Thanks in advance.
    With regards,
    Mrinal

    Hi Mrinal,
Static & Dynamic processing is to address mainly te cost element for the sales order.
When you choose static, after the available check system will have one procurement reference number through out the execution of the sales order.
Whereas, with dynamic processing, after the available check there will be multiple procurement reference numbers available in the system towards the requirements.
So when you have alternate parts defined in the system, with the static processing option the costing will be carriedout only for one part that is assigned.
On the otherhand the dynamic process will give you more accurate costing as the reference is for multiple orders & also keeps track of the Goods receipts.

  • Re: Question in Requirement Class?

    Hi experts,
I have a question here reg. automate cost calculation.
For this, I have created Req. Class, Req. Type, assigned req type to req. class, assign item cat. to req type and costing has assigned to req class.
    Here the question is.........
    - In req. class(TC:OVZG) under Assembly tab there is a assembly type, order type... what is the useful of these fields and what's control? In req class, client wants to fill in assembly type as "2" or "0"
    - In req. class under Account Assignment tab there is a settlement profile....what is the useful of this filed and what's control? In req class, client wants to fill in order type as "PPC1".
Is there any link with these fileds to automate cost calculation.
    Looking forward your valuable thoughts/ideas....
    adv thanks
    vk

We are not using any assembly type or order type in MTO scenario for our requirements class (transaction OVZG).
Settlement profile is required to settle the order. After the production process is completed the order needs to be settled so that costs are settled and for this reason a settlement profile is required. Costing variant PPC4 should be used in make to order scenario.

  • PLANNED ORDER CREATION FROM SALES ORDER SAVING (REQUIREMENT CLASS 200)

    Dear All,
By using requirement class 200, assembly type 4 (dinamic planned order) Iwould like that at sales order registration the planned order for the sales order material is created.
    I have two problems.
The system doesn't schedule the planned order, even if the scheduling parametres are entered for planned order type (relation between routing id and planned order type).
So I have a planned order in which i have to manually schedule it.
The second problem is that the planned order is firmed at creation. I would like that it was not firmed to adjust by MPS procedure the components from BOM modification. Infact at the creation of the sales order The complete BOM is not defined, and I don't want to unfirm the planned order so run th mps procedure.
Can anyone answer to these questions?
    Thank's in advance
    Luca Pastura

    Hi Luca Pastura,
    For Scheduling
    1. You need to Give the appropriate check mark ( 1 or 2 ) In the capccity check of the requirement class configuration (ovzg)
    For Firming
    1. Since youare using dyanamic processing ""During dynamic assembly processing, you can not change the quantities and deadlines"
    2. kindly refer the F1 help for the assembly type inthe OVZG.
    Check and confirm

  • Requirement Types for Independent Requirements: LSF, VSF, VSE

    Hi,
    (1) Can anyone explain the following requirement types in layman's terms:
    LSF (Make-to-stock production)
    VSF (Planning with final assembly)
    VSE (Planning without final assembly)
    (2) Upon transfer to demand management, how to determine which Requirement Type to use?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Requirement type determines the following points:
    1. Consumption of Independent req & customer req.
    2. How warehouse stock taken into account.
    3. Make to order or Make to stock.
    4. Planned order can be released or not.
Requirement class is assigned with requirement type.
PIR requirement type & customer requirement type both linked with Strategy group.
Ex: For strategy 10, PIR req type is LSF & Customer req type is KSL.
So transfer to demand management in the material master if strategy 10 is assigned, system will take req type as LSF.
Same as if strategy 40, req type VSF
For strategy 50, req type VSE.

  • Requirement class MRP control ?

    Hi Gurus,
i have created a material with strategy 40. first i created sales orders without changing any option in Requirement class. then i run MRP. planned orders are created for sales order.
after that i changed the requirement class as No MRP and creatred new sales orders when i run MRP The sales orders which i created after changing the Requirement class is getting added to the planned order.
as the second sales orders should not consider in MRP Why they are gettind added to the planned order.is there any other control that controls the sales order MRP consideration.
    Thanks&Regards,

    Hi Venkat
Check the requirement type on the sales order and make sure that your requirement type assigned to the requirement class was selected.

  • Costing Sheet in requirement class for Sales Order costing

    Hi Experts,
Could you please explain me the necessity of costing sheet in requirement class configuration.
There is a field for costing variant in requirement class. I hope costing sheet can be taken from that costing variant.
So what is the purpose of costing sheet in requirement class and could someone explain me the use of that field in requirement class.
What happens if the costing sheet in requirement class and costing sheet in costing variant mentioned in requirement class does not match.
    Thanks.
Edited by: DSK on Dec 18, 2011 3:21 PM

Costing Variant is assigned to Requirement class
Requirement class is assigned to Requirement type
Requirement type is assigned to Planning Strategy
Planning strategy is assigned to strategy groups
Strategy group is assigned to MRP3 tab in Material Master
System picks the costing sheet in requirement class
In this way product will be costed for Make to Order sale order costing.

  • Requirement class

    Hi PP Experts,
Can anybody tell me what is exact role of Requirement class & Requirement type in planning strategy.I have read SAP library. But even not that much clear.please help.

    Hi Raja,
Before you ask these questions, I recommend that you use the search to find the answer yourself and then ask more detailed questions when you have them. That would be more interesting (for other users) and prevents the people who just copy&paste and provide links-to-some-strange-documentation which they do not (necessarily) understand.... from answering.
When people answer over and over again with such answers to basic questions, then it soon makes a mess of the search when someone wants to get some real help or information out of SDN by useing the search. And attracts more people who just spew out links and copy&pasted documentation.
Don't you think that is almost the end of the world? Are we going backwards on our planet????
You are almost an enabler for clogging up the whole world (from the view of this forum) (...no offense!! think about it...).
Now... lets take a closer look at the folks who answer your questions... That is often the other half of the coin which (too late) recognized that they are repeating themselves over and over again.....
We need to get the noise down!!! Do you agree? Otherwise, special-things... mystical-things... non-delete-things... will not happen!!! (or you will not be allowed to know about them!!).
The problem is that people often follow noise or at least listen to it for long enough that it sinks in ... it kills independent thought.
Fear of independent thought, is one of the main causes of folks fearing the search here at SDN...hell... it only has answers!!! What are you scared of? Yourself?
Please help us improve the quality of the forums by thinking about both the question, and the answer... and then you can go bananas afterwards with cool ideas...:-)))
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Standard requirement class

Currently I donu2019t have sap system can any one tell me what is standard requirement class and requirement type for (sales order to delivery and billing normal case)
    Ahmed

    Hi ,
TOR is dependent on requirement type, requirement class, checking group and schedule line category.
Requirement class contains all the control parameters, required for demand mgmt/sales and distribution. The requirement class is the controlling factor for the availability check and the TOR for all sales document types.
Requirement Types are Texts that represent the planning  Strategy in any application (like demand mgmt/Sales & Distribution. A requirement type is allocated to a single requirement class, but a requirement class can be allocated to more than one requirement type. The requirement type is displayed in the sales order is based on the item category and the MRP type of the material.
    Hope it helps.

  • MTO requirement class

    Hi Expert,
I want to confirm with expert, the standard SAP MTO requirement class is KE? Or other requirement type?
By the way, I hit an error message in GL account where I am doing a MTO order with internal order. My error message is GL account is not a cost element.
As far as I researched from the forum, for cost based object, it should post to GBB VAY account and not GBB VAX account, however my MTO with internal order is hit to GBB VAX which is not correct. Any expert know what setting I need to set for my requirement class or other setting in the system that I can do?
What should I check in the system?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Try out in configuration for:-

  • Requirement Class Selection

    Hi
We have a two company code say 1000 / 2000. in 1000 co code we produce FG by strategy 10(MTS) where as in co code 2000 we produce material FG by strategy 45 (MTO). now my qestn is :
when i create Sales order for material which is in co code 1000 system takes defualt cutomer requirement KEV for stock material but it should not to be take.
    Please sugest earliest.

    Dear Vishal
You have not specified whether sales area, sale document type and plant are different for each company code.
    - Assuming that your sales area and sale document type are also different, please check in OVAZ whether you have maintained the correct sales area to the sale order type.
    - Ensure that in OX18, correct plant is maintained for the company code
    - In material master, correct sales area is maintained which you can check in MM02 by selecting only the sales area
    -  In MRP3 view of material master, check what strategy group you have maintained bcoz, the requirement class depends on this.
    thanks
