Assertion error in report

State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 46036] Internal Assertion: Condition !pConjunct->IsAndCond(), file server/Query/Optimizer/Request/Src/SQORToCNF.cpp, line 46
What could be the source for this error, or where can I look for it ?
thanks
RIshabh

Hi RIshabh,
I found something on siebel support web:
The reason for the assertion error is due to problems in converting complex filters so that they can be compared to what is in cache. The report should be a cache hit, but because of the conversion error, the filter of the report does not match the filter of the cached report. This causes the assertion error.
The error is only seen when there is a cache entry. If cache is not populated, there is no need for conversion and comparison. Hence there is no assertion.
The problem occurs when the number of OR clauses gets too great. Internally, SA needs to convert filters in order to match queries to cache entries. At a certain point, the conversion breaks. Then, the filter of a query that should be a cache hit no longer matches the filter of a similar cache entry. The result is the assertion error.
This error will not occur if cache is turned off. This error only occurs when cache is already populated. A query will run the first time, but subsequent runs will throw the assertion.
Hopefully this makes sense.
Cheers,
Daan Bakboord

  • Assert error in __memp_fget under OS X/Linux using TXN_SNAPSHOT

    Hi all,
Hopefully this is a good place to file a bug report. I've been hunting down the cause of a core dump for a couple of weeks and have finally reduced it to a [small example|http://home.comcast.net/~jonathanmeredith/bugrpt.tar.gz] (I couldn't find a way to attach it to the message).
    README from the tarball:
The code sample enclosed causes BDB to die with an assertion error. This is the minimal
code that causes the bug, stripped down from an Erlang port driver. It may look strange
and ugly, but it only exists to reproduce the bug.
To reproduce expand the tarball into a directory containing the BDB tarball and run make.
It will compile the library and test code then start looping through the test code. The
assertion usually occurs anywhere between 1 and 50 iterations through the test code.
The bug occurs under Mac OS X 10.5.7 (9J61) running on an 8 core [email protected] mac pro,
8Gb RAM, compiled with i686-apple-darwin9-gcc-4.2.1 and under Debianl Lenny on
    4 core Xeon 5160 @ 3.00GHz, 8Gb RAM, libc 2.7-18, gcc (Debian 4.3.2-1.1) 4.3.2.
    Expected output:
assert failure: ../dist/../mp/mp_fget.c/257: "bhp != NULL"

Removing the TXN_SNAPSHOT options makes the bug go away. So does changing the size of the 'put' value.
Reducing the number of the THREADS #define increases the number of iterations required to hit the assert.
On the 4-core Debian box it took 377 reps with THREADS=2

    Hi Jon,
Thanks for a great test case, this made our job a little easier! If you could please send me an email to: michael dot brey at oracle dot com, I will respond to you with a patch of this issue for 4.7.

    Hi Guys,
I got a assert error, "~InstanceList(): 3 outstanding references to UID 172 (Class kTextStoryBoss).", I don't know the reason, do you guys know that?
    Thanks,

The number of AddRef() and Release() on that object does not match. This is usually found while closing your document database.<br /><br />Search your code for:<br /><br />IFace1* p = ... Query ... ()<br />InterfacePtr<IFace2> p2 ( ... Query ..., IID_...FACE2/UseDefault... )<br /><br />... with any of the interfaces on the reported boss class.<br />Methods such as Query...() and Create...() both imply an AddRef, only some of the InterfacePtr<> constructors are meant for those, while others will call AddRef themself.<br />Of course if you use AddRef() yourself, also check those for matching Release().<br /><br />Dirk

  • Error in report generation-Load report failed

I have installed crystal reports  for VS2005 runtime in my live environment. When i try to load the report file from a .Net page i am getting the error'Error in Report generation-Load report failed'.
This works fine in development and testing but when moved to production we are having issues.
I believe i have a workaround i.e i need to open the rpt in a VS 2005 environment and re-write the connection string again. This fix had worked in development and testing when we had the same issue.
But not sure if this is a known issue with crystal reports and if so do we have any hot fixes for the same.
    Please help.

    Hi Don,
The reason why i posted the item on 'data Connectivity issues' is because i suspect the problem is with the connection string.Though i had provided the correct connection string,re-writing the connection string with the same info might help to fix the issue with loading the report.
Does it mean that there is a problem in the connectivity?
I have a risk here that i cant re-write the connection string..i.e to open the RPT file in VS2005 and bind it.The production web server & database server sits in a  third party environment and it is not in the company network. So i cant connect to this server to re-write from any other severs in the network.
Is there any fix which can applied to the server to get this issue resolved?
    Cheers
    Nithya.

  • Error from reports from ZAM(Graph or PDF) - File does not begin with '%PDF-'.

I just noticed today that any Graph or PDF report I try to view I get the

'%PDF-'. I tried to just save the file and then open it, but get the same

Anyone have any idea? I haven't done anything to that server that I am

I took a closer look at the files it downloaded, opened them with notepad,
    haer is what it says:

    Hi,
Is there any way to hiding pl/sql error in report region when we use generic column names*(Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only)*

error is "Report Contents No data

    Hi Godavari,
Firstly, make sure there are some events happened in the day you selected and mathcing with the options you set.
I could reproduce your issue if I don't do any events in the day I set in the custom report.
So, please try to do some actions based on the options in the custom report you set, then go to Audit log report to run a custom report based on the current day, compare the result.
Note: Audit log reports only log the events which are happened after you enable Audit log reports.
If the report still doesn't contain data, please check the log file to find more information base on the Correlation ID.

    Hi Rick,
According to your description, the exception “System.IO.IOException: The file exists.” is thrown out when you export the report on report manager.
Generally, the exception is thrown out because there are more than 65535 files without deleting previous temporary files in our temporary directory. Based on my research, it has reported the same issue when exporting the report on report manager, and deleting all
temp files from C:\Windows\Temp could resolve the issue. I would also suggest you remove the temporary files from C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp. Please refer to the first comment at this link:
    System.IO.IOException: The file exists

If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

Error occurred during the process of generating the output file from template file, XML data file, and translation XLIFF file.
I know there are several topics on the web, but all of them are about new or custom reports, this is a standard one. When I preview the report on the report definition it works fine, so I assume there's a problem with the XML file generated. When I preview the report specifying an alternative XML I get the same error. The XML file I choose was the one generated by PeopleSoft when trying to view the printable version of the PO online.
So, I start cutting portions of the XML File. I started leaving only de Header Data and it works OK, when I add the Lines it failed. I add the Line Fields one by one to detect what was the problem... And finally it failed when I add AMT_LINE_MAX. Why? No idea, is it because its value is '0,000' instead of '0.000'? I don't think that should be the problem since there are other numeric fields on the header, all with ',' as a decimal separator...
    Am I missing some configuration?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Veronica.

Have a look at the following doc:
"Error generating report output. (235,2309)" When Running the "PO XMLP Dispatch" XML Publisher Report (PO_DISPATCH) for a Purchase Order with a Ship To Location with Special Characters in the Address [ID 1299876.1]

Stating this happens for example when there is a location with special characters.

    Hi,
From the error message, it failed because of "invalid argument: storagetype = '101' ".
101 means the storage type is "system" + "cache". Is there any change on your storage before the issue occurs? For example whether the source storage is changed?

  • Error exporting report with sub report and parameters

    Post Author: joncombe
    CA Forum: JAVA
I am using the JRC to export to a PDF file a report that has a sub report within it. Both the main and subreport connect to an Oracle database via an Oracle ODBC connection and both share a single parameter, RUN_ID. I need to set a value for the parameter in both reports. If I don't do that I get this error:-com.crystaldecisions.reports.exportinterface.exceptions.ExportException: Some parameters are missing valuesI have the following code to update the parameters in both reports.                     ParameterField thisParameter1           = new ParameterField ( );                   ParameterField thisParameter2           = new ParameterField ( );                   Values thisValue1                       = new Values ( );                   Values thisValue2                       = new Values ( );                   ParameterFieldDiscreteValue thisParamDV1= new ParameterFieldDiscreteValue();                   ParameterFieldDiscreteValue thisParamDV2= new ParameterFieldDiscreteValue();                   thisParameter1.setReportName("");                   thisParameter2.setReportName("DQA_GER_Adressverification.rpt");                   thisParameter1.setName("RUN_ID");                   thisParameter2.setName("RUN_ID");                   thisParameter1.setType(FieldValueType.numberField);                   thisParameter2.setType(FieldValueType.numberField);                   thisParamDV1.setValue(254);                   thisParamDV2.setValue(254);                   thisValue1.add(thisParamDV1);                   thisValue2.add(thisParamDV2);                   thisParameter1.setCurrentValues(thisValue1);                   thisParameter2.setCurrentValues(thisValue2);                   parameterFields.add(thisParameter1);                   parameterFields.add(thisParameter2);                  ReportStateInfo repStateInfo = new ReportStateInfo();                  repStateInfo.setParameterFields(parameterFields);                  reqCont.setReportStateInfo(repStateInfo);  With this code in place I have found that if I run using the JRC supplied with Crystal Reports for Eclipse I get the following error:-ERROR - QueryEngine error: verify database failed.ERROR - Disk Exporter: no output file was created by an exporterERROR - PdfExporter: caught Exception in PDFFormatter.finalizeFormatJob (from destination?); not. I am not sure why the update to set the RUN_ID in the second SQL query fails, but it seems to me the JRC is not detecting it as a missing parameter and is passing the SQL including {?RUN_ID} to Oracle, causing the JDBC driver to fail with this NullPointerException. I think this because further up in the log I see this:-INFO - Executing query: SELECT v.* FROM v_ger_main vwhere v.run_id = 254INFO - Verifying databaseINFO - Executing query: SELECT h.* FROM v_ger_av_ls_tagging hwhere h.run_id = {?RUN_ID}ERROR - QueryEngine error: verify database failed. Both connections are from the same database, but the first has the updated value (254) whilst the second query still seems to have the parameter and so fails to verify. Can someone suggest how I can fix this problem or if I have missed something that is required?Thanks.Jon.

What happens if, instead of passing in parameter field values, you pass the report source object to the viewer (ReportViewerBean for stand-alone or CrystalReportViewer for web)?  The viewer should introspect the report for the parameter fields and bring up a parameter field entry dialog box.  Does such a dialog box come up?  Is only the main report parameter field queried for, or both main and subreport paramter fields?  When you enter correct values for the field, does the report display?
Hopefully, the above should narrow down the issue.
By the way, JRC doesn't support ODBC connections, only Java based connectivity such as JDBC, JavaBeans and XML.  If you have a report with ODBC, then it looks for a JNDI connection with the same name.

  • Re: BUG? APEX 4.0: ORA-20503 error editing report with 400+ columns

    Hello Everyone.
I've run into something quite strange and am hoping you can help me.
I am using Apex 4.0.1 and Oracle version 10.2.0.5. I've created a "classical" report in which the underlying SQL is a very simple:
select * from pvtabThe Oracle table pvtab consists of 419 columns, all of which are varchar2(88) and number type. That's it.
When I run the report, al of the columns show up as expected.
However, when I go into the "Report Attributes" tab and click on one of the fields (any of them, it doesn't matter which one), I immediately get the following error:
ORA-20503: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current checksum = "598CAA7B68746A66F4B99E1512C36DED" application checksum = "0"If if replace the "*" with a few actual column names, then I am able to access any of these columns without problem.
If I put back the "*", I then encounter this error again.
I have never seen this error with other SQL SELECT statements in which I use the "*" qualifier to retrieve all columns from the table.
And so, I am wondering if the error is caused because of the large number of columns (419) in my table.
I've seen this same error mentioned in connection with forms but never with a report.
So, is there some limit to the number of columns one can have in a "classic" or interactive report?
Any idea why I would be getting this error?
Here is the DDL for my table pvtab:

So, is there some limit to the number of columns one can have in a "classic" or interactive report?Yes. See Oracle® Application Express Application Builder User's Guide Release 4.0, Appendix B: Oracle Application Express Limits.
Any idea why I would be getting this error? No, but I've replicated it in APEX 4.0.2.00.07 on 11.2.0.1.0 EE using a table of 420 <tt>varchar2(88)</tt> columns:
    >
ORA-20503: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current checksum = "50C9BDC0AA1AEF0EB272E9158B2117B4" application checksum = "0"
    >
Happens whether using <tt>select *</tt> or including all column names in the query. (I know you don't want to type all the column names, but I'd never use <tt>select *</tt> in a production application: always use a proper column list. You can get one without typing by drag-and-drop of a table in most IDEs, or a query from <tt>user_tab_columns</tt>.)
I hit the problem at 274 columns. Such an arbitrary number leads me to think that the problem is not one of the number of columns per se, but is due to some other limit (possibly a 32K VARCHAR2/RAW buffer somewhere).
    Workaround:
Updates to the report column attributes are actually being saved, and you can navigate them using the Page Definition tree view as described in Appendix B.
    Getting More Help:
This is probably a bug. If you have a support agreement with Oracle raise an SR with Oracle Support.
    Also:
<li>Search the forum using the "ORA-20503" code and other possible terms to see if there's anything relevant. I had a quick look but the only thread in this context recommended an upgrade on an Oracle 9 DB version that's not compatible with APEX 4.0.
<li>To get the attention of the Oracle APEX team or anyone else who may know more about this problem than we do, edit your original post and change the Subject to be more specific about the actual nature of the problem: <em>BUG? APEX 4.0: ORA-20503 error editing report with 400+ columns</em>, and include your database version/edition and the definition of the <tt>PVTAB</tt> table.
    Finally:
Somebody's bound to ask, so we might as well get started:
    <li>Why so many columns?
<li>What requirement is this trying to fulfil?
