Assertion Failed! error when trying to install

I've been trying to get World of Warcraft on my iBook since I bought it in late August, and after just now using a different set of disks I'm convinced that I have a hardware problem. On the same disk (on both copies) I get the error:
Assertion Failed!
(unknown)
\<Path Name>\Installer Tome3.mpq:1576
I also get this same error on one of the disks in the 2nd set, albiet with a different path, but the same ":1576" suffix. Has anyone else encountered this with different software? Office installed fine, but I don't have any other Mac software to attempt to install.

I was able to proceed with the installation and have installed Oracle BI EE on my PC. However, there is no oc4j.jar in my oc4j_bi/j2ee/home directory so am unable to proceed in starting the oc4j server. How can I go about that ?

Edward do you meet or exceed the system requirements listed at http://html.adobe.com/edge/animate/tech-specs.html?
    Jip I sure do!
I checked the program in discussion just for the heck of it and it works. But when using the Adobe applications manager it says not correctly installed. So I don't know what is going on there!
It is just unappreciated to have people like Mylenium give such unhelpful replies to customers who are really keen on learning and using your new products.
(I must probably add that I have tried installing the demo version of Photoshop CS6 when it was just released and caused a serious error. And when I wanted to uninstall it, the uninstaller suggested I use Adobe removal software to remove the demo software... this also did not work properly and I’m still stuck with a error message every time I log on to my windows account)
But thank for the prompt reply Jeff, keep it up.

A portion of the OSX error report is below. Has anybody experienced anything similar? If so, were you able to identify the core problem?

How do you fix a msvcr80.dll error when trying to install itunes 11.1.4?

    This also work100%
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components
If applicable, disconnect any iPod or iOS device and close Microsoft Outlook.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later).
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (see note 1 below)
    iCloud (if present)
MobileMe (if present) (see note 2 below)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot your computer. Delete any of the following folders where they can be found: (see note 3 below)
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files\iPod
    C:\Program Files\iTunes
    also on 64-bit systems:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Download the iTunes setup file and run it to install. Use an account with administrative rights. This can usually be achieved by right-clicking on the downloaded file and selecting Run as... or Run as Administrator. In some cases a combination of Shift or Ctrl keys may be required for the option to show, or it may not be necessary.
If you deleted iCloud and reinstalling iTunes doesn't automatically reinstall it visit iCloud Control Panel.

  • "Shared Resources error" when trying to install Photoshop Elements 11

I keep getting installation error "Shared Resources error" when trying to install Photoshop Elements 11 (Windows 7).  Any advice will be appreciated..

    Welcome to the forum, Ted,
Here's an older "Shared Technologies" thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3155897#3155897
But, I am not sure that we were ever able to help the OP, and they never reported back with the responses from Adobe. Still, might be a tip that is useful.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
[Edit] I mis-spoke. The OP and another user with the same error WERE helped. What I saw initially was yet another poster, who was going to contact Adobe, but never came back to the thread. In the case of the OP and another users, the issue was caused by having Adobe Bridge, included with other Adobe programs, like Photoshop and Premiere Pro, running. When they killed that, the installation went well.

Just few minutes after asking this question on forum, I was able to find the workaround for opening the DashboardDesigner.exe.
What I was trying earlier was that, In my "Business Intelligence Center" site,  i was trying to open the Dashboard Designer from "PerformancePoint Content" list by clicking "New Item" from "Items" tab in Ribbon.
Instead Now I go to the connections library "Data Connections",  Go to "Documents" tab in Ribbon and then click on "New Document".
    Voila!
    Finally "DashboardDesinger.exe" opens up! :D
Now from this designer application, I can add other Lists directly and can add "PerformancePoint Content" list for creating actual ScoreCards, Dashboards, KPIs etc.
    Happy Learning!

Afterwards, I try to install the warcraftlogs.air application, and when I execute the program I get the following error:
Se ha producido algún error al intentar instalar esta aplicación. Instale la versión más reciente de Adobe AIR desde http://www.adobe.com/go/getair_es y vuelva a intentarlo.
Translated it should be something like this (this is not the official English message):
Some error has occurred while trying to install this application. Install the latest Adobe AIR version from http://www.adobe.com/go/getair_es and try again.
I've tried to search anything related, because I can't find that exact error message in any Adobe troubleshooting page, but everything I can find is a really old version issue, or something I've tried without success (trying to install everything running as administrator, also via cmd.exe ran as administrator, installing an older version, uninstalling and installing 100 times Adobe AIR, etc.).
I've also searched (but not asked) in Warcraft Logs forums for any solution, but I couldn't find anything related either.
    Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance and best regards! ^^

  • Java error when trying to install 1.1 standalone on Win 64b server

    Hi,
just downloaded the new 1.1 release and tried to set it up as a standalone Apex listener on our Windows Server 2008 64-bit database server. Got Oracle 11.2.0.2 64-bit running on it, and are using the java install from that installation to install the Apex listener.
    - unzipped the listener zip-file to d:\temp
    - when trying to install with "java -jar D:\temp\listener\apex.war" I get:
    INFO: Starting: D:\temp\listener\apex.war
+See: 'java -jar apex.war --help' for full range of configuration options+
    INFO: Extracting to: C:\Users\haakon\AppData\Local\Temp\apex
    SEVERE: java.lang.System.console()Ljava/io/Console;
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: java.lang.System.console()Ljava/io/Console;
    at ____embedded.____EntryPoint.apexImages(____EntryPoint.java:103)
    at ____embedded.____EntryPoint.main(____EntryPoint.java:90)
    - trying to specify a specific apex.home & apex.images directory (pointing to the images-directory in a complete installation of Apex 4.0.2) on the java command line results in the same error.
I can see that the installer has created the apex.home in this last attempt.
I'm running this as a domain user with admin-rights on the server.
Is this a 64-bit problem, or something else? Should I use a different java-version than the one installed with the 11.2.0.2 database when trying this?
    Regards,
    Haakon

Tried a quick install on my local workstation with Win7 64-bit and java runtime v. 1.6.0_23 and everything worked fine just as documented.
So, downloaded a new java runtime distro to the Win2008 server and tried installing with that, and eventually I got the listener running. Had to start it twice, since the first startup gave an "Invalid" errormessage when opening the listener configuration page. Second go without any changes to config worked fine.... Don't know why...
So, problem solved so far :-)

  • Error when trying to install Adobe Acrobat Pro, recently purchased.

Recently purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro, when trying to install get an error message 'Your account subscription cannot be validated'. Have tried several times, double checked login etc, but same message each time.
Please help, how to fix this issue??

    Hi camelon,
Please delete the "Acrobat" and "OOBE" folders found in
    on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    on Windows XP: <youruser>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe
    on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Local\Adobe
and delete the "Acrobat" folder found in
    on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Preferences
    on Windows XP: <youruser>\Local Settings\
    on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
Then launch Acrobat. It will go through the first launch experience of asking for UI language, AdobeID, etc.
If there's no change in behavior, please attempt to go to:
    https://na1mbls.licenses.adobe.com
If you can't get to this website there may be a firewall or other software blocking the connection. Acrobat must be able to reach this https URL and 3 others in order to complete and monitor the subscription/trial process.
If you can view the page at this URL, then please send the PDApp.log and amt3.log file from
    on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Logs/PDApp.log
    on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Local\Temp
    to [email protected]
    Regards,
    Rave
