Asset Change - AS02

Hi,
When I am trying to change the Main Asset Master Record, when I am assigning a Cost Center in Time dependent tab, the changes are not effected, it is giving a message "Update Terminated contact your system administrator",

Please follow these steps :
1. Use the user exit AIST0002 and add coding in :
EXIT_SAPLAIST_002 and EXIT_SAPLAIST_003
2. Add new fields in CI_ANLU structure
3. Develop subscreen in function group XAIS
4. Determine the Layout. Open t-code : AOLK then select Asset Class which you want to implement then click on folder 'General Assignment of layout'. Note the tab layout but the tab layout default is 'SAP'.
5. Open t-code : AOLA. Copy the tab layout 'SAP' to create another layout ex : 'YSUB'. Then Add a new entry and double-click on the folder 'Tab Page Titles'. You want to put your custom fields in the tab page u201CGeneralu201D. So, select this tab page entry and double-click on the folder "Position of Groups". Here, all the field groups currently residing in the tab-page u201CGeneralu201D are shown. Add an entry for your newly created fields. Select the group box from the list. An entry will come with u201CUu201D padded with the custom subscreen prepared by you. Then, save and come out.
6. Assign the new layout to Asset Class..Open t-code : AOLK again.
7. Open t-code : AS01/AS02/AS03 again.

Change the cost center in asset master AS02

Dear Members,
I need to change the cc of an asset in the asset master, so I read the other discussions and followed the steps AS02 and time dependent, then create new interval. But the CC is locked it cant be modified. The validity of the CC is starting form year 1900 to 9999. Should I change the validity of CC both existing and new one using t-code KS01 first?
If yes, then what validity date should i put as i want to use both cc, since other expenses are posted to both cc.

you may go to asset master >> time dependent tab (AS02) and update new Cost center with date from. only thing is that you cost center should be valid and not locked.

Asset change to inventory

Hi all,
For some of the assets in our company, the auditor suggested us to change it as inventory. it should not in assets.
what is the procedure to follow? shall i retire the asset and take it as inventory or any way to solve this?
Kindly give the procedure.. its very urgent.

asset a/c Cr - 1000000
because the assets should belongs to the inventories. which t.code we have to change this?

Problem in Asset update - AS02

Hi
When I tried to update "Inventory number", system show the asset record message, when I check new value on AS03 "Inventory number" is equal to space.
I have all autorization to update on AS02, but I don't know why this field "Inventory number" on new values is recorded with space.

Hi,
When you define an asset class, you have the option of activating inventory data for the asset by selecting the checkbox "Include asset" in OAOA. This indicator is usually selected for assets like plant & machinery, office furniture etc. the inventory of which need to be managed.
Hence, please check if the asset class, to which the asset in question belongs, has "inventory data" activated in asset class configuration.

Fixed Assets: Changing Category, Depreciation, life

i have an requirement where we need to change asset category, depreciation method, no depreciation and life(1 month). And want to make total depreciation to zero.
Ex:
Asset#A1 already depreciated some amount.
Original category X and degault rules are set to Depreciable.
Defined to new category Y and associate default rules to all CORP and TAX books to not depreciate.
Changed from category X to Y
Now after reclassification, it is depreciating entire amount of the asset and posting to current open period. As the reclassification does not default the new category depreciation flag, it is depreciating entire fixed asset cost immediately. I didn't run depreciation.
Now how do i change YTD depreciation to zero?

Hmm, did you not test this out in a test environment first before doing this in production? Can you be specific on the choices that you made when you changed this asset? Maybe you chose to expense the adjustment in the current period rather than to amortize? Because you originally had it in a depreciable status, then changing it to new financial information, looks like it is choosing to expense the remaining asset cost immediately (which is why you are getting depreciation without having run depreciation). You may need to contact Oracle support at this point to find out how to best recover from this. Though if just one asset, you can just do a journal entry to reverse the depreciation. Then you would want to contact support to find out what is the best way in the future to make this kind of change. The documentation unfortunately does not address the kind of change you were making here. Doe show that it is important to get the depreciation setup correct before activating an asset.

Assets are not showing in assets list AS02/03

We have created 4 asset classes, for each asset class we have created 25 assets but when i will see asset masters it is showing only 25 masters from 1st asset class only. Here my question is why system is not showing remain 3 asset class masters. Can anyone have any idea?

Tell me one thing, where you are checking for asset masters?
go to AS02, in asset number field press F4, so a selection window will be appeared, in that selction screen do not enter any asset class, only enter ur comp code and press enter
Now you will get all the asset those created in that company code.

Making Backup using Save As with Assets - changes folder structure

After saving a concert that contained 7 songs in the set - as a backup to a different external disk, I noticed something. When Mainstage creates the backup, it removes all the files (.wav, .caf, etc.) that were imported into 'Playback' instances from their respective folder structures, and dumps them all into one big folder.
I like organizing backing tracks for each song into folders. I often go back in to my original Logic tracks and tweak tracks - then want to re-import them. So, the folder structure makes it easier to manage the files.
I know - the newly created structure on the new disk does work fine... but if I start working on that drive, and want to back it up to the original drive - I've got a situation where I'll have duplicate files created by Mainstage... leaving the original files that were linked to the original concert as orphans... just taking up space.
I'm going to write to Apple's feedback for Mainstage and ask that the original folder structure be respected (as an option) when saving a concert with its assets to a new location. But, in the meantime, I felt that I needed to vent about this un-Applelike behavior.
Anybody else annoyed by this?

No, PS only uses the simplified file dialogs. There is no way to change that.

Image assets "changing" upon Save

Whenever I save my site, Muse tells me that assets have changed and need to be updated or relinked. If I do this and save again, I get the same message. When I hover over the warning sign in the Assets panel and look at the popup box, all the reported image sizes (original, resampled, and page item) are identical. This is getting annoying. Why is Muse doing this, and how do I make it stop?

The image size does not change, you're talking about the file size.
And the file size depends on the file type, the contents, the compression options used, etc.

AS02 is for Asset change..........here you can change only dpercaition keys.......
You can define in AS93..........under Takeover values.
Also u can check the value at AS02 under Deperciation area at initial tab ..you can see there at Menu Bar..

Asset master business area change

I upload legacy assets using one business area now my user want to change the business area. I checked in asset master it is in display mode only. what i can do? with out creating any new asset and transfer the values.is there any way to update the business area in asset master.

there is a mass change option in the environment tab, you could have a look at that.
Have you looked at the config, to see which fields can be changed?
Also, I think you can change time dependant fields, which I presume business area would be part of.
What happens when you view the asset in AS02?

Basically, i need to delete the existing FROM DATE (Time Intervals) and update with then New Dates and Cost centers.

AS02 asset managmt- ANLA-GDLGRP allow any value

Hello,
I would like to allow any value in the field ANLA-GDLGRP in the asset management (AS02). But this table has a check table and in this way I must not set values that are not in the check table. Is there a way (but modification of the SAP standard) to change the behavior and allow any value?

In the meantime I think that this is possible if the check table is empty. I tried it in our system and will test this in the customers system also.
