hi all,
Can we change the Cost center of an Asset, if there are any posting on that particular asset ?
if yes, plesase let me know the settings to change it?

I see that the Cost center field has been disabled....
Also let me know that if any posting are there for that particular Asset of that Cost center.... can i change it?

Please follow these steps :
1. Use the user exit AIST0002 and add coding in :
EXIT_SAPLAIST_002 and EXIT_SAPLAIST_003
2. Add new fields in CI_ANLU structure
3. Develop subscreen in function group XAIS
4. Determine the Layout. Open t-code : AOLK then select Asset Class which you want to implement then click on folder 'General Assignment of layout'. Note the tab layout but the tab layout default is 'SAP'.
5. Open t-code : AOLA. Copy the tab layout 'SAP' to create another layout ex : 'YSUB'. Then Add a new entry and double-click on the folder 'Tab Page Titles'. You want to put your custom fields in the tab page u201CGeneralu201D. So, select this tab page entry and double-click on the folder "Position of Groups". Here, all the field groups currently residing in the tab-page u201CGeneralu201D are shown. Add an entry for your newly created fields. Select the group box from the list. An entry will come with u201CUu201D padded with the custom subscreen prepared by you. Then, save and come out.
6. Assign the new layout to Asset Class..Open t-code : AOLK again.
7. Open t-code : AS01/AS02/AS03 again.

Asset change to inventory

Hi all,
For some of the assets in our company, the auditor suggested us to change it as inventory. it should not in assets.
what is the procedure to follow? shall i retire the asset and take it as inventory or any way to solve this?
Kindly give the procedure.. its very urgent.

Hi,
When I am trying to change the Main Asset Master Record, when I am assigning a Cost Center in Time dependent tab, the changes are not effected, it is giving a message "Update Terminated contact your system administrator",

Fixed Assets: Changing Category, Depreciation, life

hi
i have an requirement where we need to change asset category, depreciation method, no depreciation and life(1 month). And want to make total depreciation to zero.
Ex:
Asset#A1 already depreciated some amount.
Original category X and degault rules are set to Depreciable.
Defined to new category Y and associate default rules to all CORP and TAX books to not depreciate.
Changed from category X to Y
Now after reclassification, it is depreciating entire amount of the asset and posting to current open period. As the reclassification does not default the new category depreciation flag, it is depreciating entire fixed asset cost immediately. I didn't run depreciation.
Now how do i change YTD depreciation to zero?

Hmm, did you not test this out in a test environment first before doing this in production? Can you be specific on the choices that you made when you changed this asset? Maybe you chose to expense the adjustment in the current period rather than to amortize? Because you originally had it in a depreciable status, then changing it to new financial information, looks like it is choosing to expense the remaining asset cost immediately (which is why you are getting depreciation without having run depreciation). You may need to contact Oracle support at this point to find out how to best recover from this. Though if just one asset, you can just do a journal entry to reverse the depreciation. Then you would want to contact support to find out what is the best way in the future to make this kind of change. The documentation unfortunately does not address the kind of change you were making here. Doe show that it is important to get the depreciation setup correct before activating an asset.

Making Backup using Save As with Assets - changes folder structure

After saving a concert that contained 7 songs in the set - as a backup to a different external disk, I noticed something. When Mainstage creates the backup, it removes all the files (.wav, .caf, etc.) that were imported into 'Playback' instances from their respective folder structures, and dumps them all into one big folder.
I like organizing backing tracks for each song into folders. I often go back in to my original Logic tracks and tweak tracks - then want to re-import them. So, the folder structure makes it easier to manage the files.
I know - the newly created structure on the new disk does work fine... but if I start working on that drive, and want to back it up to the original drive - I've got a situation where I'll have duplicate files created by Mainstage... leaving the original files that were linked to the original concert as orphans... just taking up space.
I'm going to write to Apple's feedback for Mainstage and ask that the original folder structure be respected (as an option) when saving a concert with its assets to a new location. But, in the meantime, I felt that I needed to vent about this un-Applelike behavior.
Anybody else annoyed by this?

No, PS only uses the simplified file dialogs. There is no way to change that.

Image assets "changing" upon Save

Whenever I save my site, Muse tells me that assets have changed and need to be updated or relinked. If I do this and save again, I get the same message. When I hover over the warning sign in the Assets panel and look at the popup box, all the reported image sizes (original, resampled, and page item) are identical. This is getting annoying. Why is Muse doing this, and how do I make it stop?

The image size does not change, you're talking about the file size.
And the file size depends on the file type, the contents, the compression options used, etc.

Changes of asset master data - S_ALR_87012037

Hi Colleagues,
Could please help me by settings in order to see changes of asset master data ?
I would like to know in which assets changes have been performed, in which characteristic and to know old and new value.
There is one transaction : S_ALR_87012037 - but i cannot get horizontal look of values. I can only get vertical.
In instruction there is shown that i should click function _ "use alv tree control" but i cannot see in my SAP version.
is there any another option to get request display of data ?

Changing useful life of assets during asset to asset transfer

Hi All,
We need to transfer some assets to new assets changing its useful life. Below is my scenario.
Old Asset "A" has an useful life of 5 years and depreciation start date is 01.01.2006. Where this asset would be fully depreciated by the end of year 2011. The depreciation runs have been completed for November 2009.
Before using transaction ABUMN, I created a new asset "B" in a different asset class with the exact details of the old asset ONLY changing the useful life to 3 Years. (even the dep start date is 01.01.2006 - same as the old asset)
In Tcode ABUMN, I entered the old asset, doc date as 30.11.2009, posting date as 30.11.2009 and asset value date as 30.11.2009. Transfer variant 4 is been used in this case. The transaction went through successfully. The main idea behind this process was to depreciate the entire new asset "B" by the end of 2009, which should be the case as if 01.01.2006 is the dep start date with useful life of 3 years.
But this is not happenning. The entire depreciation is not been shown under plannned values for DEC 2009. Only a small value is shown. I need this asset to be fully depreciated by 31.12.2009 in variably absorbing the enire balance depreciation for the month of Dec 2009.
Please help me resolve this asap or please suggest me a different way of doing this if I am not doing it the right way.

AS02 is for Asset change..........here you can change only dpercaition keys.......
You can define in AS93..........under Takeover values.
Also u can check the value at AS02 under Deperciation area at initial tab ..you can see there at Menu Bar..

How to change duration of music on menu?

I started from (almost) "scratch" so I'd have a nice "clean" video to burn to a DVD. I've reset all my chapter markers. Perfect, in Preview. I've chosen my menu and adjusted the motion scene selection buttons. Gorgeous, in Preview. I don't like the "default" music that comes with the menu I chose. I read some old threads here and found there is a 30 second limit, so I used Audacity to cut a WAV clip that's 16.23 seconds long to use as a loop. Here's the problem:
I clicked "Browse" and selected the same music clip for the Main Menu and each of three successive Scene Selection pages. Works fine on the Scene Selection pages, but the Main Menu won't play past 13 seconds for some inexplicable reason. I tried manually adjusting the "duration" to 16.23, but it snaps back to 13 as soon as I hit Preview.
I've closed the program, restarted my computer, made a new (identical) music clip (just in case the Main Menu didn't want to "share") but it still won't take it. It plays the first 13 seconds then abruptly loops back to the start, which is NOT a *smooth* transition - but it would be, IF it would play the whole 16.23 seconds like the other menu pages do without any problem.
I'm open to suggestions, but I sure hope I don't have to start over again. Oh, BTW - I tried switching to a totally different Disc Menu, just out of curiosity, and that one played the whole music clip on the Main Menu page without a problem... but I don't like the look of that menu, I want the other one - the one that's giving me grief (of course). Don't understand why it would work on one and not the other.

To answer a question one of you (Bill?) asked on the previous thread about my source material --
It was originally a PAL video cassette, converted to NTSC DVD. It's all on my computer now - four VOB files: three @ .99GB each, and one @ 691 MB. It's a one-hour Peter Allen TV Special broadcast in Australia. I am removing the advertising and making a menu that will allow selection of each song individually. I want more of a "concert" and less of a "TV show" as the finished product.

Here are the results of my test of the Broadway Menu Set and the exact steps that I used. It starts a bit before the work with the Video and Audio, but this might be useful to someone creating a Menu Set for use with PrE.
I got the Standard (4:3) PSD’s for the Broadway Menu Set, both the Main Menu (mm) and Scene Selection (ss), plus the MPG and the MP3 files. To get these Menus to display in PrE’s Create Menus selection area, I Opened the PSD’s in Photoshop, and created the PNG “thumbnails” for them, using the naming convention of the other PNG thumbnails as my guide. I first resized each PSD to 160 x 128 pixels, and then did a Save_As_PNG-8, using the correct naming convention, used elsewhere. These were placed into a new “(V) Broadway” folder with the PSD’s, the Motion Asset MPEG and the Audio MP3 file. All displayed fine in PrE 4.
In a PrE Project, I took the original Broadway MPEG and used TimeStretch to increase its Duration to the 29;20, that I had used before (that would match my Audio file from earlier tests), and did a Share, choosing MPEG. This resulted in an m2v, but that worked fine.
In PrE’s Create Menus Panel, I chose the new, stretched m2v, and the Duration changed to match the 29;20 Duration of the Motion Asset. Next, I linked to the previous SmartSound WAV, that was edited to have a Duration of exactly 29;20. The Duration for that Asset changed to 29;20 instantly.
I previewed and the searchlights were now slower (as was to be expected) and the limo was also slower pulling in and out. The Menu’s Motion Background was smooth, but slower. The new Audio with Fade-in and Fade-out, played perfectly, and the Menu Looped very nicely. Actually the Looping was now better than with the original MPEG and MP3 Assets! This was a nice surprise, as there was a bit of a jolt, when the original Audio Looped. Not sure what could be done to eliminate that, but think that it would be easily accomplished in Audition, or Audacity. Maybe a test for another day.
I burned a DVD RW and the Menu worked perfectly. I did not complete the test by altering the Scene Selection Menus (in my test Project, I needed three of these), but feel confident that they would function the same way.
In conclusion, if one needs to use other Audio source files, this can be done, so long as one takes two things into consideration: the Video Motion Asset will determine the Looping/Duration, and the Duration must be < 30;00. I chose 29;20 to give myself a bit of headroom. Now, one needs to consider the visual effect of using TimeStretch to modify the Duration of a Background Video - here, it was fine. The Audio needs to match perfectly, or be ever so slightly shorter (I’m talking about a few Audio Units here - slight indeed), than the Video Asset.
Now, one is still limited to the 30;00 Duration limit, in PrE, but up to that point, the chosen Audio can be just as long as the Video.
I strongly recommend using a short Fade-in and Fade-out on the Audio, so that there is a lead-in/lead-out that will keep from having harsh jumps with the Loop.

Compiler not embedding current assets / cache cleaning

dear all,
In FlashBuilder 4.7 (beta + release), it consistently happens that linked assets aren't (re)loaded when compiling. Cleaning the project doesn't seem to help. Restarting FB, then cleaning + building mostly reloads the assets.
Is there a way to (manually?) clean all caches, the way a restart of FB does?

This seems reproducible:
1. Make 'assets.fla' file in Flash Professional, create one symbol with some random graphics, ActionScript Linkage Class set to 'SomeGraphicAsset', publish to 'assets.swf'
2. In Flash Builder 4.7, create new ActionScript Mobile project
3. Make new Class "SomeGraphic", link with previously created graphics in Flash:

9. Close Flash Builder, reopen Flash Builder, clean project, debug -> mostly the updated graphics show.
Any feedback to make this more workable, or a way to fully flush all caches in FB are greatly appreciated.
It's crazy having to close / open FB every time a graphical asset changes in your project.

Just upgraded from FB4.6 on Win7 to FB4.7 (build 349722) on a new MacBookPro.
We have 20-30 .swc files that contain art which are merged into code. When I change the contents of a swc it is really difficult to get FB to refresh and pick up the changes. Building clean, hitting refresh on the project or lib directory. Restarting FB then building clean seems to help. On FB4.6 Windows, we always had to build clean, but not restart all of FB...
I followed a post about setting global swc cache off, but that did not seem to help either.

Create Asset Master Button does not appear while creating SC.

Dear Friends,
We are working on SRM 5 and trying SSP with classic scenario. The issue is while creating Shopping cart for account assignment Asset, system does not display Create Asset Master button.
We have maintained following configuration in our SRM system.
1.     The authorizations object M_BBP_*** is setup and activated for Employee creating shopping cart as well as RFC user.
2.     Attribute Asset Class (ANK) is maintained in Organization structure as per Backend asset class
3.     Attribute Account Assignment Category (KNT) is maintained for Asset in Organization structure
4.     GL account for product category and account assignment is maintained
Still while creating Shopping cart for Account assignment Asset system does not display button Create Asset Master.
Any idea which setting I am missing?
In R/3 I am able to create Asset master while creating Purchase Requisition.

Problem Facing in Mass Changes

Hi,
I am facing problem in Mass Transfer -----> Changes. When trying to set a new depreciation rule. The process completes normally
1. When Preview Report shows it shows the asset preview of changes of depriciation rule.
2. then Run Process completes successfully
3. When we see the Review Report it does not changes Data...
Please help me in this regards.

1) Did you try and verify the individual asset as to whether the changes have been applied or not?
Ans: I have checked the review report and no asset changed its life. Then I arbitrarily selected some assets and found out the same.
2) Does the Run Program lists out any error or exception in the Output or the Log file
Ans: No error. It says successful for each asset.
3) Does the Review report lists out any exceptions?
Ans: No.

BCC FlexUI fails to show all Assets involved in a Project

In the BCC for ATG 10.0.2 there are 2 different UIs with which to configure a CA Project; The Flex UI is accessed via the Merchandising Menu and the Workflow UI is accessed via "Browse Projects" and the "To Do List". I have observed that the FlexUI consistently shows less assets than the project actually has. The Workflow UI always shows all the assets. In particular, the Flex UI never seems to see any Products that have been changed or added in my Project, only Catageories, SKUs, and Catalogs. What's up with that? Is this an ATG Flex UI bug?

I dont think assignment of task through merchandising UI was available in previous versions of ATG also.
Assignments of tasks can be done only through Content Administration > Browse project or through the To Do list on home page.
In Flex UI you can only proceed till the deployment step and FlexUI will force you to go to home page when you click deploy to staging/production. This is how FlexUI works. Nothing can be done for it.
So this is how assignment will work in this case; Author will assign the Ready to Review task to a person A. Person A will go to flexUI and review the asset changes, move the project one step ahead and come back to home page and assign next task to person B. Assignment will not be possible through FlexUI
And regarding assets to be seen in FlexUI; you can see you added assets when you click on the project name on the top of the FlexUI screen. I have seen all my assets in the project and never got any issue with the asset count mismatch, though never tried with too many assets(just below 20). I dont know if it fails to show assets which are large in number.
But definitely it shows products,categories,skus etc.
