can any one explain me about the topic regarding OAOA & AS01
I was trying 2 create Asset Master Data & Asset Classes through OAOA & AS01...When i have created in OAOA then i tried 2 view them in AS01 i was nto able 2 find them at all 7 it is giving some message.
Dont know what 2 do can any one explain me how to go about it further.Can i delete the entries in OAOA & Start creating freshly again..IF so kindly tell me how to go abt it.

Add field group to Asset Master Data Screen Layout

Hi Gurus !!
Does anybody know how to add field group in SPRO(Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data)?. I have created my layout by coping 1000, but then I need to add Fund Center in Time-Dependent data logical field group.

I don't think you can add a funds center to the Time dependent tab.
Instead you need to use Derivatuon strategy. Use tcode FMDERIVE for strategy and FMDERIVER for GL accounts to cost center and cost centers to asset numbers or number range. From here the system derives teh funds center.

Useful Life is required - Screen Layout

Hello SAP Guru,
Good day!
I have an issue while creating an asset under the Land Asset class. In transaction code OAYZ, I assigned 1000 screen Layout in Depreciation Area 01 Land asset class. Screen Layout 1000 has an optional setting for Useful life. However, when I create an asset under asset class Land, the system prompt me an error that Useful life is required.
Is there any configuration for the asset screenlayout? I do not find any set-up which makes UL requried field.
Your answer will be appreciated.

Go to Asset Master and identify DepKey
Identify Base method of the Dep Key
Go to SPRO-Financial Accounting (New)-Asset Accounting-Depreciation-Valuation Methods-Depreciation Key-Calculation Methods-Define Base Methods
Here for the above Base method...Identify the Dep Method...if it is % from useful life...you have to enter useful life in Asset Master.

Asset class doesn't appear in T.code AS01

I created Asset Class, and Screen layout with that asset class. But when I creat asset in T.code AS01, I click field "Asset Class", but that asset class doesn't appear. It notice following:
"Asset class 213200 cannot be used in company code HDQC
Message no. AA130
Diagnosis
When you create an asset, the system determines the chart of depreciation from the company code definition. In order for a chart of depreciation to be available for an asset class during asset maintenance, the chart of depreciation has to be entered for that asset class (Determine class valuation). Chart of depreciation HDQC that was determined is not entered for asset class 213200.
System Response
You cannot create any assets in your company code for this class.
Procedure
You can do one of the following:
Use another asset class, for which chart of depreciation HDQC is defined.
Maintain the asset class valuations for asset class 213200 in chart of depreciation HDQC. Chart of depreciation HDQC has to be specified in order for you to be able to maintain the valuation parameters of asset class 213200 for chart of depreciation HDQC"

I understood my problem. When I determine depreciation area in Asset Class. It notice error:
Contact your system administrator (table error)
Message no. AA826
Diagnosis
Depreciation area 41 has not been defined in the chart of depreciation HDQC.
Procedure
Define the depreciation area using in FI-AA Customizing.
Before I created depreciation area 41.After that I deleted depreciation area 41. So I can't determine depreciation area in Asset Class 213200
You can help me to fix that error.

Screen Layout Field in the Asset Master Record

What is the use of the screen in the asset master record, ANLA-FELEI?
We have some assets where there are different values between this screen layout and the screen layout defined at the asset class (i.e. through configuration).
It seems the one defined within the asset class takes precedence.

Scree Layout controls the diplay of fields, it may not be necessary for a user to use all the fileds provided by SAP. Hence the options like Required, Optional and Suppress are used to control the screen diplay and the TABs to be displayed based on the need.
Asses within the same class will have same fields since the screen layout are assigned to an Asset class.
Scree layout for the Tab Depreciation Area can also be controlled with the screen layout defied for the Depreciation Area. With this one can have different screen layouts per dep. area.

How to create new field groups in AA master data screen layout?

Hello,
We are using ECC 6.0
We have created bunch of new fields for asset master data, but we want to make them visible only for particular asset class. So we need to customize in SPRO Asset Master Data Screen Layout, but there no specific field groups that we can customize. So how to create and add new field groups to manage them by radiobuttons Required, Optional, No or Display?

Asset class summary management auc

Dear Forum,
May I know what is the meaning of summary management auc under status of auc in asset class OAOA.
Hope to have advice as I read from F1 but yet not clear.

The summary management of the asset under construction has the following affects:
o Only complete transfers or simple partial transfers are possible (in other words, you can only transfer either prior-year
acquisitions or current-year acquisitions in one given posting transaction).
o You can only transfer to one target asset per posting transaction. You have to enter the amount of the transfer manually.
o There is no connection to the original asset under construction in the capitalized asset. Therefore, there is no exact proof of
origin for the original postings.

Screen layout control while creating the asset class

Hi friends,
I am trying to create the new asset class by copying the existing asset class. As the time of creation i have changed the new account determination and screen layout rule. While saving the system is giving error message that - Screen layout control .... does not exist.
How to overcome the above issue.

SAP standard provided certain specific screen layout based on asset class. please select the correct screen loyout based on your asset class.

Screen layout for asset class

HI,
My problem is that I am assigning one asset class to new screen layout in the asset class master data.
But the system is taking the fields from the layout which is chart of depreciation dependent data (tcode ANK1)
Here when i try to change that data for this asset class the system throws the message "Chart-of-depreciation-dependent assignment to asset class XXXX not possible"
Procedure
     In order to be able to assign chart-of-depreciation-dependent data to
     asset class 4100, the following conditions have to be met. You have to
     have already
     1. Defined at least two active charts of depreciation
     2. Assigned asset class 4100 to more than one chart of depreciation
     However, at the moment this asset class is only assigned to chart of
     depreciation 1.

This is whta you have done:
Generally, the control specifications (the screen layout and the account determination) for the asset class applies throughout the client, that is, for all charts of depreciation. It is therefore sufficient to make control specifications once per asset class.
You only need to carry out this step, if, contrary to the usual case, you want these control specifications to be country-specific (that is, different depending on the chart of depreciation). The system then uses the entries you make here depending on the chart of depreciation in the given company code. The system then ignores the control specifications in the asset class that are independent of the chart of depreciation.
We shall try to check how to delete this settings.

Screen layout for the asset class

I know the name of the screen layout used for a particular asset class, now in that screen layout I want to see which fields are mandatory and which are not. Where can I see that?

If you want to see the fields in screen layout go to spro - Asset accounting - Master data - screen layout - Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data - click on Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data
there you will find the fields which are mandatory / optional

Asset screen layout - asset class maintenance level - where to configure?

When configuring the asset screen layouts, there are few maintenance levels eg. class, main and sub.
If choosing class level, where do we maintain such? I can't find a configuration for this. Or is there an asset class creation transaction?

Dear Pixel8 ation,
You need to configure Asset Class first.
Financial Accounting -- Asset Accounting --- organizational structure -
Asset Class. First you have to define Account determination and screen layout based on these only you need to Configure Asset Class.
After Configuring Asset class, you will create Main asset base on Asset class in AS01 and create Sub-Asset from main asset as in AS11.

in as02, when i click the drop down list for class, i notice there is a tab called
account assignment/screen layout.
what actually is this screen layout?
why has it got to do with account assignment?

Hello,
The screen layout specifies the status of the fields in the asset master record. You use the screen layout to determine if fields are required entry or optional entry fields, or if they are suppressed completely, for example.
In this step, you create only the keys and descriptions of the screen layout controls. You define the the field group rules for the screen layouts themselves in the step Master Data.
In Account determination you set the account for posting of various transaction of asset for e.g.
Acquisition of asset
Dep of asset and sale of asset.

Group Asset Screen Layout disabled fields

Hi All,
We have created asset masters with Book and Tax depreciation, For tax depreciation we are assigning Group asset. Issue is while doing take over value with t- Code AS92, system should propose the field of APC Value and Accumulated Depreciation Value but both the fields are proposing only for Book Depreciation
In case of tax depreciation APC value is editable and Accumulated Dep value is disabled, requirement is we need to enter both the values for tax dep along with group asset assignment.
This is happening only when we are assigning group asset while creation of asset master. if you donu2019t assign group asset to the asset master then system is allowing us to enter both values in both the depreciation area.
I have checked necessary configuration regarding screen layout and not found any solution.
Kindly help in this regard.

If i select business area as optional (main no,sub no)and supress for all fileds (only selected main no) ,I'm able to save screen layout.If i set BA as required select mainno,sub no check box and save it shows the same error msg.Anyway i can create asset master now.thanks
