Asset Class under Sub Group of assets

Dear All,
In my Client place they are have list of assets. I clasify in Asset classes like
Plant & machinery, Buildings, Land -Asset Classes
In Buildings they have Differenct Factory Building and Office Building which is situated in Factory itself.
These Two buildings having differenct % of Depreciation.
But in one Asset Class- Building They want Create Sub Group of Assets with different depreciation .
It is Possible or Not. If it is possible How can we Create the Sub group of assets Under once Class of Assets. with different Depreciation Value.
Pl Clarify my doubt, if any manual is there porivde for my configeration.

hi,
it is possible to run depreciation for main assets and sub assets with deprecition key.
what you need to do is goto the following path
spro - > financial accounting (new) - > asset accounting - > master data -> screen layout - >
now inside screen layout you have options like" define screen layout for asset depreciation areas"
once inside the main screen of it select the scrn layout 2000 and double click on field group rules which you can find on the left side of your screen
here you will be displayed with various options for flagging what is (req) (opt) ( blah blah )
look at depreciation keys against it you shall find flags like ( class ) (MnNo.) ( sbno.) (copy)
in this remove the flag from copy and from MnNo. and flag the Subno.
this way it will not copy the depn key from the main asset and instead it will ask you provide a depreciation key while creating a subasset
and also remove the check assigned to (class) against depreciation area in screen layout 2000

one thing remember u can create all G/L Accounts as one Group but these sub groups are define in FSV so you can tell them first we can create on group that is loans but at the time of FSV u can define number of sub groups because gl master account groups are using for number controlling purpose only.what ever groups u are define in FSV that groups only comes at the time of reports ok.

Creating sub groups in iFS...

(1) Does iFS support the creation of sub groups underneath one group?
For example,I am using the iFS Manager, and I want to create groups for that represent companies...Group A, B & C...
Can I also create sub groups, Sales, Marketing and Human Resources for all three groups? and eventually create users for each of these groups?

You can definitely create subgroups under the groups you create. Copy and paste the groups into the Group page as you would individual users.
I played with your scenario a little, and there doesn't seem to be a problem in creating subgroups with the same names.
However, when I select a group from the global list, it displays the same user names in any of the matching list names, regardless of their parent group (they still display properly when I open them underneath the parent group).
Even if this did work, in practical terms, you'd end up with a global list of several groups with names that are indistinguishable (Sales, Sales, Sales, Human Resources, Human Resources, Human Resources, etc.).
What I'd recommend is that you create the subgroup names with an abbreviation of the company name.
For example, you could have the ABC company group, then ABC_Sales, ABC_Human Resources, etc. This way you can tell them apart when looking at the global list, there won't be any potential for confusion, and they'll cluster together naturally.

Address Book sub groups

Im sure that address book can do this, but Im not sure how. I just need to be able to set up sub groups. In other words, I want a main group for my business, Kids Directory, and then a group under that for Advertisers, one for Distributors and such.
Can someone please tell me how to do this?

I don't think you can. There is only one level of grouping in AB. What you could consider is making a separate user account for business use, and then have only business-related addresses in the business AB. With fast user switching it is easy to switch between two logged-in users.

Code under code group disappear after creation

Hi all,
I have two questions on following which are link to each other:
Q1 u2013 Code created inside a newly created code group is disappearing.
>> When I created a code group using QS41 with status of the code group indicated as u201CReleasedu201D. Next I went to create three codes with individual defect class under the code group screen. Lastly, I hits save.
>> Next, I went to QS42 (display) on this code group. However, surprisingly, all the codes created under this code group were disappeared. May I know why?
Q2 u2013 Using defect class to activate a defect record as quality notification automatically during defect recording.

How do I set up a new sub group email on the macbook ?

I will begin by freely admitting that I am not computer literate...I switch on and use. The present email has been in existence for so long I can't remember how it was set up, think the laptop did it by itself.
The problem...
I want to set up a sub group email address for the small club that I am treasurer for and then use this so members can pay subscriptions via paypal.
I followed the yahoo instructions to set a new email address and this was OK, the address is shown at the foot of the my account page on yahoo as the only sub group. ISP is BTinternet.com so that uses yahoo.
Easy so far.

How do I set up my existing email page to show when a message has been received on the new sub group email. I use macmail on a macbook , not PC outlookexpress. In other words, how do I open/access/show this new email on the macbook ? I don't want to compromise the existing email set-up, just have a 'secondary' or 'sub group' account.

Yes, you just setup another account in Mail, on the Second page where it has Description you need another Name in there than the Other one has.

How to configure sub-groups in the UME (Group Path) using AD/LDAP

I trying to find examples and/or documentation on how to bring all the sub groups within a OU. I could also use a definition of what a 'sub-group' is. We are trying to configure a datasource as Microsoft AD read-only & database. I have been able to bring the users in. I'm try to access groups that are marked by 'Security Group - Global'. Any details on the following would be appreciated:
1) what types of groups can are supported (Security Group Global vs Local)
2) does the system support nested OU structures
3) how to filter group listing (examples!)
4) case sensitive?
For example:
OU=Org1,OU=Org2,DC=abc,DC=company,DC=com
OU=Org1,OU=Org2,DC=abc,DC=company,DC=com;(&(objectClass=group));distinguishedname
trying to return ADGrp1, ADGrp2,ADGrp3 from within Org1

The language specification for this is on ship to site location language
So what we do is we defined a language column in rdf to derive the language. So based on the input parameters

You can create the employee groups depending up on your clients requirement, Eg: Permanent, Temporary, Seasonal, Trainee, Advisor etc
And define the employee subgroups and assign them to the employee groups Like
Enterprise structure>Definition>Human Resource Management-->Employee Groups & Employee Groups
Enterprise structure>Assignment>Human Resource Management-->Assign employee subgroup to employee group
you can create employee subgroups depending up on your requirement like asst manager, manager, GM, MD, VP ETC an assign them to the employee subgroups ok.
Ensure that certain empployee subgroups may not be assigned to employee group based on requiremen, but create all the employee sub groups which is existing in the organization.

How to Sum the datafield of a sub-group?

Hello guys,
I am having this issue that I want to only Sum the datafield at sub-group level, not the detail level. But when I do the sum, it is adding all the details. The reason I am having this is because I have somewhat duplicated details (they complement each other). I merge them using group (by Item). The Item QTY is the feild that they all have and they have the same value, but I only need one of them. Now I want to group them by order number and show the total of items I ordered. I Sum all the items' QTY, but instead of sum the QTY that's merged, it sums all the QTY from detail. Basically I am suming duplicate numbers.
Is there any solution to this? Thank you.

Thank you for the help. I treid the Average running total, but the problem is that I cannot do Summary on those new fields on the parent group. Also I can't get rid of the dupliate because the singel record does not contain enough info, I need all the records to merge togather to collect all the required inforamtion. Before I will just created a merged view on my DB to get rid of duplicate records. But this time, I am linking too much tables (includes external server DB table) that I can't make a view for that.
Basically I have an order that splits into multiple invoices that get shipped using an external server where the Actual Ship Date does not write back to our own ordering system. I am trying to see if all my items are ship on time. So I need to merge all the items QTY from invoices that linked with external shipping DB, and group them in one order.
The main problem I have is that I can't do summary on many custome fields. I can made the correct amount using Formula Field that has a shared flag to not include duplicate numbers. But once I use the shared flag, the forumla is no longer useable by Summary.
Anyway, I think I will just use Excel instead. I already have all the proper data, just that when I do group summary in Crystal, it becomes a problem. I will export the data and do analysis from there.

Release Prerequisites
Definition
The release prerequisites indicate the sequence in which a purchase requisition or an external purchasing document must be approved via the release codes. The release prerequisites are defined in the Purchasing Customizing facility (in the release strategy).
The approval procedure for purchase requisitions in an enterprise may be set up in such a way that a department manager must approve a requisition item before the next level of authority (e.g. the cost center manager). In this case, approval by the department manager is a prerequisite for approval by the cost center manager.
Release Indicator
Definition
When a requisition or an external purchasing document has been processed via a release code, a release indicator is assigned to it.
When the system sets which release indicator is defined in the Customizing facility for Purchasing (in the release strategy via the release statuses).
What does the release indicator determine?

Whether the item may be changed by Purchasing or Materials Planning and Control after the start of the release procedure
Whether a new strategy is determined and whether existing releases must be cancelled in the event of changes
Whether an RFQ or a PO may be created with reference to the item

Alternative Release
Definition
Within the release sequence, you can define alternatives. This means that several employees can effect release (signify approval) at a certain point in the sequence. If just one of these employees has effected release, the next release status is reached. The other employees thus need take no action.
Five release codes are defined for purchase requisitions in an ascending hierarchy. The requisition item can be converted into either an RFQ or a PO if release has been effected either with the release codes 01, 02, 03 and 04 or - alternatively - with release code 05.
The box with the information on the release strategy also offers you the possible alternatives for selection (see Displaying Release Information).
An alternative release cannot be a prerequisite for the next release code. In the above example, the releases with codes 01, 02, 03 and 04 could not be prerequisites for release with 05.

Use
The aim of this procedure is to replace manual written authorization procedures using signatures by an electronic one, while maintaining the dual control principle.
The person responsible processes the requisition or other purchasing document in the system, thereby marking it with an "electronic signature" which can give the document legal force.
This release procedure can be used to approve requisitions and the external purchasing documents RFQ, PO, contract, scheduling agreement, and service entry sheet.
Purchase requisitions are released either at item level or in total. There is no provision for item-wise release (i.e. partial approval) in the case of the external purchasing documents. The latter can only be released in their entirety.
If you set up the release procedure with classification for purchase requisitions, the procedure without classification is deactivated.
Prerequisites
The release procedure with classification must have been set up in Customizing for Purchasing. In addition, a class with characteristics must have been created for each document (requisition, purchase order, etc.).
If you wish to set up both the overall release procedure and the item-wise procedure for requisitions, you must create one class for each procedure.
How to do this is outlined in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Purchasing in Define Release Procedure for the relevant documents and in Set Up Release Procedure with Classification for purchase requisitions. You will find detailed information on classification in the R/3 Library in the documentation CA Characteristics and CA The Classification System.
This procedure offers a wide range of possible combinations of release criteria. Should you nevertheless have other requirements, use the enhancement provided by SAP.
Operation of Release Procedure w. Classification
The characteristic values from a requisition or external purchasing document are passed on to the classification system.
The system checks whether the values correspond with release conditions. If so, it assigns a release strategy.
The persons responsible for the release codes process the document in the sequence defined in the release strategy.

Change employee group and sub group

Hi all,
During the new hire if an employees group and subgroup are enetered wrongly, how shouldl they be corrected. We have scenarios when the emplooyes group and sub group are corrected after a month or so and the users want to correct the same
How do we do it?

Goto PA40 reselect the same Hire action for this employee and click execute. In IT0000 screen enter the new EG/ESG.
and save it. Then Save the IT0001, then fill rest of the infotypes.
If you have already process the payroll and the new Emp group / Sub group is in different payroll area you wont be able to change it.

I doubt if that can be changed....because the event that i was referring to in my previous post works with ALV List display...But in any case you can try that.....
There is an event in SLIS....(As i told you, i dont remember the name and currently i dont have access to SAP system, so i am not able to verify and let you know that event name).....
Other thatn TOP and END of PAGE events, there is an event for sub-total text......i think it would start with "SUBTOTAL"...
you need to use that event in your events table and pass it to ALV Grid display.
Then create a sub-routine with that name (As you do for TOP-OF-PAGE event)....and in this event you can change the values in runtime (PROVIDED, this event gets triggered for ALV GRID).....
If this does not work, i think calculating sub-totals while you build the internal table would be a better option....(If you have time constraint....else you can do some more research on the same)........

SUB-Group consol. in different currency i.e. other than group currency

HI Friends,
Consolidation Group currency is "USD". In the consolidation hierarchy, i have one sub group where all the companies are in AUD.
Now the requirement is that australian sub group requires sub consolidation in AUD.
Currently we are doing sun consolidation and the results are as expected, but they are in group currenmcy "USD".
Is there any option to get the sub groupconsolidation report in AUD i.e. different than group currency.

Hi ,
Yes it is possible.
Direct in UCMON and change your group currency, but you must do again full proces consoidation in this group currenct, or in your query (query designer) you create a new report and use transaltion currency direct in report.
