Asset depreciation from transfered asset

Asset A original value 1100, depreciated 100 in Oct 2009, it transfered to asset B, if B is using sum of the years ddgits depreciation, and asset B useful life is 5 years, how SAP caculate 2009 planned depreciation? and how about year 2010
and year 2014, tks

Normally before you perform Intracompany asset transfer, you do the reverse posting on Asset A and bring the balance back to 1100.
Now you transfer the asset to B and the depreciation data mentioned would be applicable. It would recalculate the october depreciation as per the new key.

What is the best practice or solution to catch up depreciation from past period for the PPA (purchase price accounting) write-up?
We need to write up assets for 2/28/2014 now (August). Once the assets are written up and when the depreciation runs - it will be based on the new NBV. But we will be missing depreciation for the amount which the asset was written up by. How do we catch up with this depreciation?
We tried running unplanned depreciation, but unplanned depreciation runs for the current NBV.

Sap has stopped the depreciation from 2010 onwards

Hi Gurus,
We have one issue in asset accounting,i.e,assets in particular companycode have been capitalised on 2010,useful life is 10 yrs.means afer 2009 alsoremaining useful life is still 1 year.But it has stopped the depreciation from 2010 starting months only for depreciation area 01.for remaining depreciation areas properly posted,we have checked the cut-ff value key ,there is no cut-off key in depreciation key,where we have to check nad what would be the possible soluation.

for a particular company code almost 150 assets have not been depreciated from 2010 january onwards.all assets have been capitalised on 02.11.1999.useful life is 10 years.So upto 2010,4th month assets have been depreciated.here fiscal year varient is V6 means start with july month and end with june.

I have to press ALLOW before Firefox will open the new page.

Is there a way to prevent Itunes from transfering a single album to Ipod?

I am trying to find an alternate way to prevent a cd from transfering from my Itunes library to Ipod, instead of turning off the auto-update and manually transfering my music.

I believe that in the before the song title there is a little check box. I'm pretty sure that if you uncheck the box of all the songs in that cd than plug in you're ipod it should delete those songs but keep them on iTunes.

How do I stop iTunes from transferring apps from my iPad or iPhone to my PC ? I have App sync turn off and I have add files to library turned off. Yet every time
I sync iTunes transfers all my apps to my PC. I have 20-30 gig of apps on each. A lot of them are 1gig each and it takes for ever to sync , plus I don't want 100 gig of apps just sitting on my hard drive for no reason. Any app I ever want is always available in the cloud so what's the point of having them on my PC in the 1st place?

In iTunes use the File menu "Transfer purchases from..." item. Ordinarily you will get a warning to do this before an update. Presumably your computer is authorized to use your account and it is the computer to which you normally sync your iPod?

There isn't an app for that!
As far as I can tell there is no option to give you that control. It is worth noting that apps can be withdrawn from the store at any time. Should your device need restoring you need all the apps in your library to transfer to it before the app data can be successfully restored. Pulling that all down from the cloud would be time consuming.
If space is becoming an issue you should consider moving the library to a bigger drive (which you should also backup to another).
As a temporary measure you could try deleting some larger apps using Finder from within iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications while keeping the entries in your library. iTunes may complain during syncs that it cannot copy apps to the device because they cannot be found, but it should not clear them from the device. Test first on a single app that doesn't have any data that you would mind losing in case the behavior has changed from the last time I tested it.

Go to Settings/ Store and under the category "Automatic Downloads" you can turn OFF the automatic download of purchases to your device (this needs to be done for each device). There's also a setting in iTunes just for automatic pushes to your iTunes library.
To remove a purchase you've made directly to your device, you can either:
a- Swipe across the song title from left to right and press Delete, or
b- If you auto-sync your device, connect to iTunes and click on the Music tab where you define your sync settings (the Music tab is to the right of the overall Summary page of your device). At the bottom of the Music tab you'll see direct purchases that are on your device -- simply un-check those and click "Apply" or "Sync" to remove them.
c- If you manually manage music on your device, connect to iTunes and click the small arrow to the left of your device name, and then click on the Music folder under your device. Then navigate to the item(s) you want to remove and then delete them.
To prevent things from syncing from your library to your device, there are many ways to do that (un-checking things in your library is one way, but not the best IMO). Might want to read the manual or some online tutorials on iTunes if you want to learn more.

Catch up depreciation from previous year

Hi all,
I am using an asset from 1st July 2008. But we have posted the first APC in month of March 2009 using transaction (CJ88) with Asset value date as 1st Feb 2009. As a result the capitalisation date in Asset master shows 1st Feb 2009.
(APC amount 3337.15, Straight line dep for 10 yrs).
(Note: I have mentioned 1st Nov 2008 as ordinary dep start date against Ordinary depreciation area).
Now when depreciation is run for March 2009, I could see catch up depreciation for month February and March depreciation i.e., (27.8+27.8) = 55.16
But I need to post in March 2009, catch up for 8 months (july 08 to feb 09) and march month's dep.
When i tried to change Asset value date to 1st July 08 for other assets while posting CJ88, system doesnot allow me as its in previous year 2008. It permits me to enter saome date in 2009 only.
Currently I am using unplanned ordinary dep.
Could anyone please help me by suggesting any method so that I need not run ordinary depreciation everytime and decrease my workload.

Hi,
prior year depreciation is not automatically caught up by the depreciation run. If you need to catch up prior year values, then indeed you have to post unplanned depreciation.
Of course it would be best to capitalize the asset at the moment of readiness and not to wait a couple of months.

Required to calculate the depreciation from 01.04.2011

My client did the capitalization of certains assets through WBS settlement with a capitalization data as 31.03.2011 (he is folloiwng the fiscal year variant as April to March). However, as per his internal policy the depreciation calculation is required from next financial year onwards ie., 01.04.2011 onwards
They are struck in depreciation run, since the system considered the depreciation to be posted (for one days) for those assets are posted with a capitalization date as 31.03.2011.
Is there any way that the depreciation should not be posted for the selected assets as on 31.03.2011 and need to calculate the depreciation only from 01.04.2011 (next financial year onwards)

The only way is to change the Dep Start Date for these assets in AS02
You can use Substitution: Mass Change transaction in order to process them in a mass mode (OACS)

How do I stop Flex from transferring underscore prefixed folders to the bin?

I started using Flex Builder 3 only recently. There is a behavior I want to change. Flex apparently looks for folders that have underscore in front of their names (e.g. _docs_, and _demos_) inside the libraries on the project path, and transfers them to the bin directory. This often results in several megabytes of junk in my bin, and I want to change this behavior.
Does anyone know how to do that?

How do I stop my Macbook Air from transferring your information from another computer?

Just purchased my Macbook Air. When I started it up, it asked if I wanted to tranfer information from my other computer. the first thing it started to download was the music and it suddenly froze when it had a 1hr and 46 mins left and now I can escape out of it. It is the only thing that is on my screen. I ended the transfer on my PC but it wont clear out on my Macbook Air. Is there a way to restart the computer so it will retry the tranfer without the music?

How can we prevent JTabbedPanes from transferring focus to components outside of the tabs during tab traversal?

I noticed a strange focus traversal behavior of JTabbedPane.
During tab traversal (when the user's intention is just to switch between tabs), the focus is transferred to a component outside of the tabs (if there is a component after/below the JTabbedPane component), if using Java 6. For example, if using the SSCCE below...

At step 3 (upon selecting any other tab), the focus would go to the component below the JTabbedPane first (hence the printed message in the console), before actually going to the selected tab.
This does not occur in Java 7, so I'm assuming it is a bug that is fixed. And I know that Oracle suggests that we should use Java 7 nowadays.
The problem is: We need to stick to Java 6 for a certain application. So I'm looking for a way to fix this issue for all our JTabbedPane components while using Java 6.
So, is there a way to prevent JTabbedPanes from passing the focus to components outside of the tabs during tab traversal (e.g. when users are just switching between tabs), in Java 6?
Note: I've read the release notes between Java 6u45 to Java 7u15, but I was unable to find any changes related to the JTabbedPane component. So any pointers on this would be deeply appreciated.

Please allow me to clarify first: Actually the problem is not that the child components (inside tabs) get focused before the selected tab. The problem is: the component outside of the tabs gets focused before the selected tab. For example, the JButton in the SSCCE posted above gets focused when users switch between tabs, despite the fact that the JButton is not a child component of the JTabbedPane.
It is important for me to prevent this behavior because it causes a usability issue for forms with 'auto-scrolling' features.
What I mean by 'auto-scrolling' here is: a feature where the form automatically scrolls down to show the current focused component (if the component is not already visible). This is a usability improvement for long forms with scroll bars (which saves the users' effort of manually scrolling down just to see the focused component).
To see this feature in action, please run the SSCCE below, and keep pressing the 'Tab' key (the scroll pane will follow the focused component automatically):

... then you'll notice the following usability issue:
1) JRE 1.6 causes the focus to transfer to the JButton (which is outside of the tabs entirely) first; then
2) In response to the JButton gaining focus, the 'auto-scrolling' feature scrolls down to the bottom of the form, to show the JButton. At this point, the tab headers are hidden from view since there are many child components; then
3) JRE 1.6 transfers the focus to the tab contents; then
4) The 'auto-scrolling' feature scrolls up to the selected tab's contents, but the tab header itself is still hidden from view (as a side effect of the behavior above); then
5) Users are forced to manually scroll up to see the tab headers whenever they are just switching between tabs.
In short, the tab headers will be hidden when users switch tabs, due to the Java 6 behavior posted above.
That is why it is important for me to prevent the behavior in my first post above (so that it won't cause usability issues when we apply the 'auto-scrolling' feature to our forms).

How do I sync my iPhone with my laptop which already has songs from transferring info from my desktop computer?

So when i got my laptop my dad plugged in a cord from my laptop to my desktop so that all my info was transferred to my laptop. However the songs on my itunes on the laptop are not up to date because ive still been using the desktop for itunes. now i want to make the laptop itunes my main one so now how do i put all my new songs on it without losing info.
