Asset files?

I'm brand new to Dreamweaver, so I'm totally dependent on the help the site provides. I'm using the first video by David Powers on this page:  https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/learn/start/dreamweaver.html. He says I need the "asset files" and tells how to download them. But the link to this download does not appear to be where he says it is. What am I missing? [PS: In a helpful response I got from  pziecina just a little while ago, this tech points out that, if I'd paid attention to all the info provided, I wouldn't have needed to post the question. This tech is right, but I need to say that the info on the Adobe sight does not make this beginning process easy!]

OK, I made an assumption (and we know what "assume" means) that I
shouldn't have made. And that assumption was that Mr. Powers knew
where Adobe would put the links and how they would be labeled. Nancy,
you make it clear that that's not the case.
And John, I find Mr. Powers' tutorials very helpful. And, yes, the steps
he takes in this tutorial are both clear and precise.
So, Mr. Powers, if this is getting back to you, my hat is off to you.
Which doesn't change the fact that the "link" he refers to does not exist.
It seems to me that placing blame is counter productive. How difficult
would it be to change the title of the link? Maybe not important enough,
but I can't believe I'm the only one who found this situation a little
confusing.
It stopped me cold for a while.

  • Unexpected Result: Deleting asset file did not affect Encore

I am using Encore DVD 2.0. I deleted the DV AVI file, the asset for the timeline, from the folder of orgin. I did not remove the DV AVI asset from the Encore project. When I opened the Encore project, I expect the DV AVI file to have either a "broken link" or be disabled or say "file not found." But when I opened the Encore project, the project Preview played just fine as if the DV AVI file had not been deleted from the folder of orgin. Why is this?
This confused me for the following reason.....when I import an asset into an Adobe Premiere Pro project then delete the actual asset file, Adobe Premiere Pro will let me know that the file cannot be found, etc.
    Thanks for any input,
    Angela

I did a Burn DVD Disc with encore on a project where the untranscoded original asset file had been deleted. The DVD played just fine. I'm going to do some further comparison testing, and will let you know more.

  • Can not find asset files

I was on video #2 & I couldn't seem to find the asset file it was referring to.
Could someone point me in the right direction?
I'm using PC & I already checked my docs, pictures & even the program files.
    Thanks in advance!

There is a gray box in the upper right of the page with all of the tutorials.  Step 2 in that gray box says "The tutorial files".  Just under that is a blue download button.
If you click that button, a zip folder containing all of the assets will be downloaded. You will then need to unzip the folder and can move the folder to wherever you keep your files on your PC.

  • Creative Cloud / Assets File

I am a beginner using the Creative Cloud / Assets files.  I cannot seem to edit the text in the files I have downloaded.
I have saved them as normal and as Smart Object layers and files.
I must be totally missing the correct steps.
Could someone explain it to me in simple terms?
    Thank you.

Move from the Creative Cloud to the Muse forum. They will be able to help you here with the issue of Muse finding your images.
The Creative Cloud file storage will do nothing to change any of your files, it will just store them. But you will not be able to make your Muse sight work from within the Creative Cloud.

  • Asset files for Dreamweaver CS6 (Was: Dreamweaver CS6)

Where do I get the asset files for dreamweaver CS6?

Are you asking about the CS6 Online Tutorial Sample Files for first_website?

    Sample files
    first_website_pt1.zip
You'll need to extract the contents of this folder with either WinZip or StuffIt decompression utilities and save to your DW Local Site Folder.

  • Can not open asset files in tutorial

First off all of the videos are done to fast for a beginner.  Slow down speaking, give a beginner a chance to see where your cursor is.  Also found this with the Start here Tutorial for Ai.
I followed along just fine in the first video in setting up my document.  Second video I was able to open and place my files, however, I could not get the Cover image to fill the document.  So I attempted to scale the image to fit.  Got all other images open and into the document. Became frustrated and closed Id.
Today I wanted to start over and now the error pops up saying that either the file is not supported, missing or open in another app.
Remedies I've tried:   Closing, restarting windows, complete cold boot, and even the "trashing" fix that I read on the forums.
    Other ideas will be helpful.
    Thank you in advance.

    Michelle,
Yes, the first time I dragged the image but I did not go beyond the "frame" and just went to it.  As the image "stretched out of shape".  Then I tried resizing.
I was trying to open the jpgs in the Asset folder.
As of yesterday, the assets for the tutorial are still not able to open due to the same error message.
I'm at a complete loss as to what I'm missing.  When I get home from work this afternoon I will try again to see what I can open.  I may unzip the files to another location to see if that would help.  I can't for the life of me figure out in what other app these files would be open in especially if I have done a complete cold boot of my system.
EDIT:  Michelle I have unzipped the assets to my desktop and then opened Id, started a new document as was shown in the first video.  Opened my saved document from the first video.  And then it dawned on me, I have been trying to open the assets and NOT "Placing" them.
I think I have it figured out.  Thanks for listening

  • How to import a .png as an asset file?

    Hi,
I'm new to Fireworks and would appreciate some help from
here. I have a .png file which collects useful icons that I may
reuse, and I wonder how I can import it as an asset (or something
else) that I can just drag any icon element in the .png to reuse.
Is there a way to do this in Fireworks? When I tried to open the
.png file normally, I can't click on each icon element and use it
as symbols, it's all just one big picture file. any
    suggestion?

Is the PNG file one that has been saved as editable, from
    Fireworks, or
has it been exported as a PNG file from Fireworks or another
    program,
    like Photoshop?

  • Why does Adobe Premiere Pro modify original footage/asset files (e.g. mov)? (CS6)

    Background:
A colleague had given me a large 33Gb .mov for use in a project, I put this file on a backup drive.
I made an identical copy of this 33Gb .mov file and placed it in a folder that I'd use to work on a Premiere Pro Project.
I ran Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and dragged in the 33Gb .mov file into the Sequence (imported it)
Premiere Pro CS6 started conforming the file.
After it had finished, I noticed that it's Modified Date was just now i.e different to the Modified Date on the original copy of the file on the backup drive (see step 1)
I ran a BeyondCompare check between the .mov file on the backup drive (see step 1) and the one that the Premiere Pro project was using (step 2, 3) and Beyond Compare reported they were different.
I had initially thought it was unrelated file corruption of some kind, but I have checked this several times and got the same outcome, so it's definitely Premiere Pro deliberately modifying the file.
So I am puzzled: these are supposed to be the same file.
Why would there be a need for Adobe Premiere Pro to modify the footage?
What does it do to the file?
Would it not be better to create a separate file if necessary?
I can accept this if that's how it works and it's good to know that it was Premiere Pro deliberately modifying the files and not corruption (so my hardware ought to be healthy). But it makes more sense to me if Premiere Pro made separate modified copies for its own use. Modifying the file as it does hinders my process for checking the integrity of backups; if the original asset footage files were the same as earlier copies then it would be easy to know that the backups are OK.
    Thoughts?

Definitive Answer (I believe): It's all about this setting, "Write XMP ID To Files On Import" - which confirms that Adobe Premiere Pro is deliberately modifying the .mov file: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/preferences.html#WSE3BD4A43-7022-4fe6-97F5-95313 935347B
These posts give some background as to why having this setting enabled would be beneficial: one benefit being to be able to skip conforming files by matching the conformed file with the original using the embedded XMP tag :-

  • Help in loading lessons and asset files

Ok step by step lessons and assets download to hard drive then imported to adobe premeire 6.0 then relink them together, HOW IN THE heck am I suppose to do that, am having problems

You need to tell Premiere where to find the files.
When a dialog box comes up saying where is file so and so, navigate to the hard drive where you stored those assets.
If everything is red on the timeline go to the Project Panel, select the files, right click and Link Media.
Now navigate to the assets on the hdd.

  • Is it possible to disable security sandbox for debugging local asset files?

It would help our team out immensely if we were able to find a way that someone could have a network-hosted swf load files locally off your machine, without setting up the machine as a web server.
I realize this is a security sandbox violation. What I am asking is if there is a way around this, in the flash player debugger, through some other tool, etc.
The basic idea is that many of the people who create assets (pngs, jpegs, swfs) need to be able to test their work locally before uploading it to our servers.
    Thanks.

You should be able to get rid of this message by enabling firewall. Click on options then security then firewall. Enable and save.

  • Where is a list of Sequence Assets (files)?

I was looking at my friend's CS4 Premiere, and couldn't for the life of me find a window that listed the assets of a sequence.  You seemingly had to zoom into a timeline and peer at what was placed in it.
This can't be, right?  Anyone know how to call up a list of clips and titles for a sequence?
    Kaiser

Seems it would be nice to have a continual update list of sequence assets ...
I guess I don't understand that need. That's what project management and organization is all about.
One option you could use, if your project gets bloated with a lot of unused materials, is to use the Project > Remove Unused command. Premiere will remove all footage items from the project that are not being referenced by any sequences within the project. Note that this will not remove the materials from your hard drive; it simply removes the clip references from your bins. If you actually want to purge materials from the hard drive, check out the Project Manager (Project > Project Manager). You can specify options with this tool that will allow you to pare down a project and its related media.

  • How to make muse export to html and image/asset files only without css and jquery?

    Hi there adobe community,
I am here today to see if there is a way of only exporting a muse site as html with the css integrated in like dreamweaver does. Therer probably is no way to do this. However, i dont want external .css files and .js files i want them all in the html file, is there a way to do this. The reason i want to know is because my client wants no external files and only wants an image and html documents. I told him that it might not be possible and i want to know if it is. If you could help me that would be great.
    Thankyou For Your Time.

    Hi Pink,
When Muse exports as HTML , It exports everything separately like the HTML files , .Css files in a different folder and the .js files in a different folder. There is no way in Muse that you can export in any other way.
This is because a lot of the Css properties are used all across the site and not only on a particular page and so these properties are shared.
Moreover this is a much more efficient way of designing a website rather than keeping everything in  a single file.

  • Is it safe to change a media asset file outside of Premiere?

Suppose I have a timeline containing a foo.wav file.  I edit that file and save it with the same name.  When Premiere loads that project will it just work, or do I need to go clear out caches or save it with such provisions ahead of time, or anything I should know?

    It should work fine.
Do a test with a dummy file.
BTW - I do this all the time with Photoshop files.  Edit the original and the Premiere Project just updates on saving the psd.
