Asset useful lives after transfer

asset A is purchased at 2008. June, using sum of didgits depreciation, start depreciation from 2008. July, useful life five years 2008-2013
in Oct.2009, we transfer asset A to asset B, in asset B asset master, we set depreciation start day is 2008.July, useful life is five years, but asset depreciation can only be posted from Nov.2009, the dpreciation from 2008 July to Oct.2009 is sumed as value adjustment column in asset explorer.
now the problem is in asset B depreciation expense in year 2013, the old asset A if without transfering to asset B, it should finish at year 2013, total 2013 depreciation expense is 3000, but now asset B planned depreciation in year 2013 is 2200, the rest 800 is in year 2014(since useful life is five years 2009-2014), so the depreciation of asset B in year 2013 is wrong, how to solve this problem, so asset B 's depreciation in year 2013 is 3000?

Hi,
All transfer of assets in SAP is dependent on the transfer variant. There will be a default transfer variant and if you have some specific business requirement, one can have transfer variant of their own.
This transfer variant is based on the transaction types. When you check the transfer variant configuration, transaction types will be maintained in the variant. Please check on the transaction types on the variant and modify according to your requirements. Transfer based on gross or net, transfer adopting the depreciation start date and many more settings can be made in the transaction types.
Please check on those lines and see it suits your requirements.
Best regards,
govind

• Embeding pdf in aspx page and transfer its contents to server using live cycle

Hi,
I am new in designing live cycle forms , My requirement is I want to send a pdf content data from client to server, i am using visualstudio 2005 ,
pls give me a solution for sending using live cycle designer , Is it possible to call a webservice using live cycle if so then how? please provide a sample application , I am waiting for reply

1) submitting form content from an interactive PDF to a server-side solution
Designer ES enables the submission of PDF, XDP+XML, XML, and form data via an an HTTP POST. The fact that a PDF is hosted in a HTML container produced by ASPX does not change the submission options. Could you be more specific about what you are looking for in the context of VS 2005?
2) calling a Web Service
Yes it is possible to call a Web Service from a client-side interactive PDF. You need to define a data connection to a SOAP endpoint and bind the input and output parameters to form fields. See LiveCycle Designer ES help http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/8.2/acrobat_designer/000498.html.

• During initial setup of mac pro, used pc to mac transfer, after transfer mac requires new password to enter account but will not accpt password

During the initial setup of mac book pro, I did the pc to mac transfer. After transfer was complete, mac had two user accounts aspen pc machine? and dell. Upon trying to access either, the mac says I have to enter new password to enter. It will not accept new password. What do I do?

Well....I bit the bullet and called Apple tech support this morning and agreed to pay my $49 for the tech support. I ended up talking to a Boot Camp specialist. In the end his position was that "they didn't support Windows" and my particular problem was a "Windows problem". I countered with the fact that they advertise that one of their selling points was that Windows could run on an Intel Mac and that I ought to at least be able to install Windows. They said that most people were able to install Windows with no problems. I agreed, but told them that, after searching the Internet, I had read numerous posts from folks that had the same problem and that Apple really should address it. They were very polite and even agreed not to charge me the $49, but their final position was that it was a "Windows problem."
I guess that at this point I'll try to return the Windows disk to Amazon and see if they'll give me a replacement.

• HELP: Failure flashing BIOS using Live Update 5

Hi,
I used Live Update 5 to download the latest BIOS version for my MB. Then when I was running the update, I chose "". (I know it's incorrect and I should have chosen the other one.) After the update, the machine restarted and showed a cursor blinking on the top left on a black screen, and it wouldn't proceed any more. I can enter the BIOS without a problem. I can also boot from CD or USB, but the windows on my machine simply wouldn't boot.
After the problem arose, I have tried flashing the BIOS with the MSI Forum HQ USB Flashing tool on this forum. It tells me that but the same problem remains.
What should I do now?
Thanks for your time and consideration!

After any flash, the battery should be removed for awhile and the CMOS cleared. Reset all your BIOS menu settings again making sure the boot order etc. is correct and the proper mode is selected that your OS was installed under, i.e. IDE or AHCI mode.

• Error while creating Legacy Asset using AS91

Error is as follows
E698 SYST: Abnormal termination (ANLB-LGJAN 1 not equal to ANLC-GJAHR
In 2008 during implementation, there was a mis match between FI & AA.
In AA Takeover values were not updated but GL entry was made. Now since depreciation is run, it is not allowing to update takeover values in AS92.
Now the i have planned to follow this procedure
Firstly Reset Depreciation
Then to create new Assets in AA copying previous assets without Takeover values using AS 91 & update those takeover values in new assets.
Then FI & AA values would match & then i can run depreciation.
But in 2nd step i am stucked, as when i try creating new asset using AS91 it is giving above error.
What should be date of legacy data transfer in spro? i have maintained 30.09.2008
In OAAQ i have maintained closed FY =2007
In OB52 i have Opened both 2008 & 2009 posting periods.
What more has to be done?

Hi Paul
I have taken a production copy in different client & have done all these with the client's permission.
Following are the reasons with example
suppose these are 4 assets at the time of implementation
1 Asset A Acquisition value 100000/- Accumulated Depreciation 20000/-
2 Asset B Acquisition value 200000/- Accumulated Depreciation 30000/-
3 Asset C Acquisition value 300000/- Accumulated Depreciation 40000/-
4 Asset D Acquisition value 400000/- Accumulated Depreciation 50000/-
In implementation following happened by mistakenly
Asset A & B were properly created using AS91 & in GL also entry properly made using OASV
but for Asset C, entry was made using OASV but in AA Tcode AS91 Asset Master was created but Takeover values were not updated.
for Asset D entry was made in OASV but in AA Asset number was not at all created.
so when you see asset master C in AW01N acquisition value is blank & planned depreciation is also missing.
i think individually all data was not cross tallyied.
So the Balance sheet is tallyied with entry in FI
but
in AA there are 100 assets without takeover values & 300 assets for which Asset Masters are not at all created in AA.
& depreciation for 2008 has been run on other assets excluding these 400 assets.
So now AA closing cannot be done as the FI & AA balances are not reconciled.
& now we have to update takeover values creating new asset masters using AS91 but system is not allowing us.
Could you suggest some solution for these problems
Thanks in Advance

• Video size is larger after transfer

I have a 60gb JVC Everio HD camera. I'm saving my transfers to a 500gb external drive. I currently have 25gb of video on my camera. When video was transferred to external drive the transfer size shows 211gb. Does anyone know why after transfer the files is so big? How does the 25gb on camera end up 211gb on harddrive?? Thanks in advance for input.

Hi,
I work for JVC and would like to try and help.
Can you give me a little more info?
1. The model # of your cam (GZ-HD300, GZ-HD3, etc.)
2. The recording mode you used (UXP, XP, FHD, 1440CBR, etc.)
3. What software/version you are using to edit (I believe iMovie 09, but please confirm)
4. The specific method you used to transfer the video (via USB, via i.Link, using the import from camera mode in the software, etc.)
There may be a better method that doesn't result in such an increase in file size. Let me know the answer to these questions and I will do my best to help.

• When using Live View, site looks great, browser testing goes crazy

I am creating a new website (and I am really unexperienced with Dreamwaver CS5). But when I check my site using "Live View" everything looks great, the way it is supposed to. Then when I go to test it in my browswer (Primary browser is Chrome) it goes crazy: I at first noticed that I had saved one copy as an .asp but then resaved it to .xhtml I did delete the first line of code already that the .asp file created as it kept giving me an error on line 1.
Then I tried to do a spry drop-down menu bar, which I have deleted since I thought I was doing something wrong with that and I should just stick to what I half-way know.
If I were to preview the template page it gives me this error:
This page contains the following errors:
error on line 150 at column 76: error parsing attribute name
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.
Here is line 150:
if (a[i].indexOf("#")!=0){ d.MM_p[j]=new Image; d.MM_p[j++].src=a[i];}}
If I were to test the index.xhtml page in the browser, it ignores most images (all but one), and the first nav-bar (an editable region) appears to the left instead of under the header. The layout is totally ignored and everything is on the left-hand side of the screen instead of in a two column layout.
I am not testing this on a server just off of my computer.
I am assuming that the error has something to do with the .asp file I first did and when I resaved it, since I don't know what I would be looking for, is still in there screwing it up.
Here is the code from the template page:

1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.
2) No margin has been given to the columns since they are all floated. If you must add margin, avoid placing it on the side you're floating toward (for example: a right margin on a div set to float right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For divs where this rule must be broken, you should add a "display:inline" declaration to the div's rule to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.
3) Since classes can be used multiple times in a document (and an element can also have multiple classes applied), the columns have been assigned class names instead of IDs. For example, two sidebar divs could be stacked if necessary. These can very easily be changed to IDs if that's your preference, as long as you'll only be using them once per document.
4) If you prefer your nav on the left instead of the right, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all left instead of all right) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.
.sidebar1 {
float: right;

/* ~~ The navigation list styles (can be removed if you choose to use a premade flyout menu like Spry) ~~ */

Instructions

Be aware that the CSS for these layouts is heavily commented. If you do most of your work in Design view, have a peek at the code to get tips on working with the CSS for the fixed layouts. You can remove these comments before you launch your site. To learn more about the techniques used in these CSS Layouts, read this article at Adobe's Developer Center - http://www.adobe.com/go/adc_css_layouts.

Clearing Method

Because all the columns are floated, this layout uses a clear:both declaration in the .footer rule. This clearing technique forces the .container to understand where the columns end in order to show any borders or background colors you place on the .container. If your design requires you to remove the .footer from the .container, you'll need to use a different clearing method. The most reliable will be to add a <br class="clearfloat" /> or <div class="clearfloat"></div> after your final floated column (but before the .container closes). This will have the same clearing effect.

Logo Replacement

An image placeholder was used in this layout in the .header where you'll likely want to place a logo. It is recommended that you remove the placeholder and replace it with your own linked logo.

Logo Replacement

Be aware that if you use the Property inspector to navigate to your logo image using the SRC field (instead of removing and replacing the placeholder), you should remove the inline background and display properties. These inline styles are only used to make the logo placeholder show up in browsers for demonstration purposes.

To remove the inline styles, make sure your CSS Styles panel is set to Current. Select the image, and in the Properties pane of the CSS Styles panel, right click and delete the display and background properties. (Of course, you can always go directly into the code and delete the inline styles from the image or placeholder there.)

Backgrounds

• Using live text in a lightbox trigger

I am using live text in my lightbox trigger and in preview everything works great the first time around. However, after i've clicked on the lightbox trigger the first time, my text will no longer show up if I rollover the trigger again. I've tried the "hide all initially" option and that didn't work. Any suggestions??

By "opening it in Acrobat" I mean opren the Adobe Acrobat application and then open the PDF file in it (File -> Open -> select your PDF)
If you have the file open in Acrobat then follow the commands I offered in my first response to convert the PDF to a Word file. YOu can then open the Word file in Word and do what you wish with the contents of it.

• Glitches Convertng AVCHD using Log and Transfer

Hi, I'm converting a large batch of AVCHD to ProRes 422 using log and transfer for a project. I've converted almost all the footage, but have had to break down some longer clips because FCP7 won't convert the whole clip, it starts to act wonky. There is one large clip that I'm trying to convert a section of, that just won't convert and keeps giving me the annoying red exclamation point no matter what I do. I've tried changing the scratch disk, using the original name of the clip, unchecking "abort capture on dropped frames," changing the in and out on points--all the suggestions that I've found on discussion boards--nothing has worked. I've considered buying some external software, but am afraid the clip itself might be corrupted, though I've converted other sections of it with no problem. Any suggestions?

Hi Michael, Thanks for the quick response. I copied the clip, the whole card to a different internal drive and FCP crashed when I tried to transfer a section the troublesome clip. Here's part of the report I got after the crash:
Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSMallocException', reason: '*** -[NSConcreteMutableData appendBytes:length:]: unable to allocate memory for length (75356)'
*** Call stack at first throw:
The camera is the Sony NEX-FS700. As I said before, I'm baffled. I've transferred two other sections from this same clip and also from all the other clips from this card with no problem. It was a couple of months ago, but I've not changed any settings or preferences.

• Mass sale of asset using t code.abaon.

Hi All
Mass sale of asset using t code.abaon
*After there is a difference between area 63 Asset history sheet and the Account balance list which wasn't their prior to this sale. The difference is between summarizing all of the dep. columns and comparing that to the Accumulate Dep. in the same sheet.
Now The EVL assets are Finland specific. They are used to post gaine/loss for sales and scrap in tax area, so they are effected by the sale.
Awaiting for solution

hi
is there any table or program to clear the difference.
plesde let me know

• Looking for information on best practices using Live Upgrade to patch LDOMs

This is in Solaris 10. Relatively new to the style of patching... I have a T5240 with 4 LDOMS. A control LDOM and three clients. I have some fundamental questions I'd like help with..
Namely:
#1. The Client LDOMS have zones running in them. Do I need to init 0 the zone or can I just +zoneadm zone halt+ them regardless of state? I.E. if it's running a database will halting the zone essentially snapshot it or will it attempt to shut it down. Is this even a nessessary step.
#2. What is the reccommended reboot order for the LDOMs? do I need to init 0 the client ldoms and the reboot the control ldom or can I leave the client LDOM's running and just reboot the control and then reboot the clients after the control comes up?
#3. Oracle. it's running in several of the zones on the client LDOM's what considerations need to be made for this?
I am sure other things will come up during the conversation but I have been looking for an hour on Oracle's site for this and the only thing I can find is old Sun Docs with broken links.
Thanks for any help you can provide,

Before you use live upgrade, or any other patching technique for Solaris, please be sure to read http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23823_01/html/E23801/index.html which includes information on upgrading systems with non-global zones. Also, go to support.oracle.com and read Oracle Solaris Live Upgrade Information Center [ID 1364140.1]. These really are MANDATORY READING.
For the individual questions:
#1. During the actual maintenance you don't have to do anything to the zone - just operate it as normal. That's the purpose of the "live" in "live upgrade" - you're applying patches on a live, running system under normal operations. When you are finisihed with that process you can then reboot into the new "boot environment". This will become more clear after reading the above documents. Do as you normally would do before taking a planned outage: shut the databases down using the database commands for a graceful shutdown. A zone halt will abruptly stop the zone and is not a good idea for a database. Alternatively, if you can take application outages, you could (smoothly) shutdown the applications and then their domains, detach the zones (zoneadm detach) and then do a live upgrade. Some people like that because it makes things faster. After the live upgrade you would reboot and then zoneadm attach the zones again. The fact that the Solaris instance is running within a logical domain really is mostly besides the point with respect to this process.
As you can see, there are a LOT of options and choices here, so it's important to read the doc. I ***strongly*** recommend you practice on a test domain so you can get used to the procedure. That's one of the benefits of virtualization: you can easily set up test environments so you cn test out procedures. Do it! :-)
#2 First, note that you can update the domains individually at separate times, just as if they were separate physical machines. So, you could update the guest domains one week (all at once or one at a time), reboot them into the new Solaris 10 software level, and then a few weeks later (or whenever) update the control domain.
If you had set up your T5240 in a split-bus configuration with an alternate I/O domain providing virtual I/O for the guests, you would be able to upgrade the extra I/O domain and the control domain one at a time in a rolling upgrade - without ever having to reboot the guests. That's really powerful for providing continuous availability. Since you haven't done that, the answer is that at the point you reboot the control domain the guests will lose their I/O. They don't crash, and technically you could just have them continue until the control domain comes back up at which time the I/O devices reappear. For an important application like a database I wouldn't recommend that. Instead: shutdown the guests. then reboot the control domain, then bring the guest domains back up.
3. The fact that Oracle database is running in zones inside those domains really isn't an issue. You should study the zones administration guide to understand the operational aspects of running with zones, and make sure that the patches are compatible with the version of Oracle.
I STRONGLY recommend reading the documents mentioned at top, and setting up a test domain to practice on. It shouldn't be hard for you to find documentation. Go to www.oracle.com and hover your mouse over "Oracle Technology Network". You'll see a window with a menu of choices, one of which is "Documentation" - click on that. From there, click on System Software, and it takes you right to the links for Solaris 10 and 11.
