Why can i use the asset warranty twice for differents assets is not a unique register or it can be use for others assets?
Why can i use the lease number for two differentes assets is not a unique register,?
Does the securty book restrict the lease number and warranty number form another books??

The first year of warranty goes by serial number no matter who owns it. If you have AppleCare on the product and sell it, you need to transfer that AppleCare Plan to the new owner.

    Dear friends,
    We are facing problem with the Equipment number that automatically gets generated during the Asset creation.
    We used Internal number range for Equipments which is similar to Asset numbers and whenever an Asset created automatically Equipment get created with same number as the number ranges we maintained are same.
    Recently we implemented Sub-Asset process and After implementing Sub-asset concept in to our Asset accounting the synchronization is not happening.
    Can some one tell how I can come over this issue.
    Ex:      Asset 12045          Equipment Number  12045
         Asset 12046          Equipment Number  12046
         Asset 12045-1          Equipment Number  12047
    How can I address this?
    Should I go for External number range ? if Yes, then how can I do after so many Equipments got created with Internal number range.

    Hi KK
    There is no sub number range in equipment as we have for assets.  So you will not match the number range beween assets and equipments records whenever you go for sub assets. 
    We have this scenario and we are not matching the asset number to equipment records.
    If you still want to have the same numbers, then you can go for external number range as proposed by you.

    Serial number from device could mean it's been sitting in the warehouse for a year before he purchased it can't it?
    It could, but all authorized dealers are required to report the sale date and serial number to Apple. That's how Apple knows when a device was sold to set the warranty date; the warranty starts on the day the authorized dealer sells the device to the user, not when the dealer receives the device from Apple.
    How would they know his serial number from his device without registering it because I know all the serial numbers show up on my devices but like I said how would the serial number prove that he didn't purchase the device 6 months - 1 year after it left the warehouse or place of purchase.

    Says on website Apple may require a proof of purchase and to keep your receipt.
    They may, though usually they don't. But again, the user is not required to register the device with Apple to validate the warranty. In fact, in many countries it is illegal for any manufacturer to require registration before a warranty is honored. The proof of purchase is all that would ever be needed, and again if the device is take directly to Apple that's almost never required.

    my aim is to get an internal table with all my selected cost centers and the number of their appendant assets to pass this to a SmartForm.
    The result would be something like:

    What I did so far: I made up an SQL statement, which I tested in the transaction DBACOCKPIT (Performance -> Additional Functions -> SQL Command Editor), which works fine and gives me exactly what I need.
    The SQL statement is (slightly simplified, and exemplarily only for costcenters 100000 and 100001):

    Checking my code, ABAP Editor gives me a syntax error pointing to the SELECT of the subquery (it's in German, because this is my default language setting). After my first FROM, ABAP seems to expect a table name instead of a subquery.

    Leasing object is basically the asset (or material or physical product or reference product) that is leased in CRM Leasing. In CRM, materials are created in transaction COMMPR01. These are generic products like LAPTOP or TRUCK. If you want to create more specific products (eg. using serial number or VIN number), then you can create Individual Objects (IObjects) based on the reference product. The object family used for leasing individual objects is 0311.
    CAI stands for "Contract Added Pricing Implement". In CRM 5.0, you can find this under IMG -> CRM -> Financial Services -> Leasing -> Pricing -> CAI - Contract Added Pricing Implement. Here's the text copied from the IMG
    "The CAI (Contract-Added pricing Implement) tool is used in the leasing scenario to calculate the conditions for pricing that cannot be calculated using standard pricing in IPC. These are conditions whose calculation requires the financial mathematics cash flow or information from predecessor documents. In the standard scenario, these are conditions that are needed in option valuation, such as the net present value of outstanding payments."
    Note: If you are using a higher version of CRM for Leasing, you may not need CAI.

  • HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 Under Warranty and Support won't help

    Hello,
    I have my pavilion laptop suddenly have power outages.  Verified that the product is under warranty and submitted a case.  The helpful support responded.  Closed my case.  Then proceeded to tell me that I had to go to another site to submit.  The link led me to exactly where they just closed the case and I could see my case I just opened marked as closed.  Thanks for the help.  In an email, this very helpful support person told me to navigate to chat and their directions didn't lead me to any chat.  So I'm left with a product under warranty that HP has cleverly hidden all means of support and actually fulfilling the warranty.

    Problem description: Getting multiple eventid 41 associated with sudden shutdown of computer ("The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."). I initially thought it was disk crash so replaced the hard drives and problem continues. I checked the power supply cord which was facing a recall and that appeared fine (not covered by the recall). Seems this is under warranty and this is freezing me up from doing work.

    Troubleshooting steps.
    Ran disk check, even after doing putting in new hard drive. No issues. Ran memory check. No issues. So memory and disk appear fine. Could be PSU based upon error code supplied. Odd w/ laptop. Forums suggested possible motherboard issue.

  • Apple tells me that i no longer have warranty yet my computer is only 2 years old. One year warranty and i have applecare (which adds 2 years). will they fix their problems of having BLACK SCREENS OF DEATH. 2010 models affected should have been recalled.

    WHY?
    It literally makes no sense at all. Apple itself has always had my back. UNTIL NOW. when my problems arise. i am a full time student and when working on video editing projects or ANYTHING that uses a graphics card (youtube, diablo 3, quicktime player, EVEN IPHOTO) causes my computer to BLACK SCREEN.
    THIS IS AN ISSUE APPLE NEEDS TO RESOLVE, especially when they tell me i am not under warranty and have NO APPLE PRODUCTS REGISTERED? it is like they deleted it because last time i checked i had 3 ipods, an iphone4 and my macbook pro all registered. and when the store checked my account i have 0 apple products apparently.
    I REGISTERED MY IPHONE IN THE STORE STANDING NEXT TO THE GUY WHEN I BOUGHT IT.
    anyways. yes apple. nice going with a significant issue of screens cutting out for no F3948ing reason. 2010 models especially i have been reading about (which mine is) as well as laptops made before that.

    buying a new laptop today NOT A MAC... because a WORKING computer is a necessity.

    Do this.
    Go to the Apple Support page and type in your serial number. When the screen comes up showing that Serial number having Applecare extended warranty take a screen shot of it or Print it out to a PDF file and then Print a Hard Copy of either of those things. Take that with you when you take your Mac in to be looked at.
    Good Luck with the Lenovo. I hear they are the same quality as when IBM was making them. Personally I have always used Dell Business Class notebooks and have never had any problems with them. Still have one that is going on 11 years old and it still runs as good as the day I bought it, actually a little better because I've upgrade the CPU, GPU. RAM and HDD.

  • Asset Management and tracking using iOS?

    I would like to use iphones for asset management and tracking and am having a bit of difficulty finding what I am looking for. I bought delicious library 3 at home to see if it could track code39 or code128 but so far it doesn't work, and I can't seem turn off Amazon searching. Anyway, I also ran across iCody, which looked nice and even clz barry, but they all seem to be data entry only.
    What I am looking for is an app/application set that can work in two ways:
    1. Build a database (this could be manually if it needs to be) of asset items. I would then enter details about that item into the database.
    2. Scan, view, and possibly edit the item by barcode using an iOS device.
    Has anyone found something that will do this? I'm not real interested in demoing apps by buying them first

  • Asset sold and purchased back

    Hi Gurus,
    I wanted to find out how other companies handle this situation. We have an asset that was sold last year and it was purchased back this year. From what I understand from the user, is they wanted to see the history and total accumulated depreciation in AW01N (before the asset was sold and after it was purchased back) since it is the same asset.
    It will be recorded at the NBV at the time of purchase (APC less accumulated depreciation as if we owned the asset).
    For example, APC = $3000, asset life is 3 years. Asset sold after 1 year (NBV = $2000). Asset purchased on second year (NBV = $1000).  So we want to post using Gross method, showing asset value of $3000  and an accumulated depreciation of $2000. The remaining life should be 1 year.
    Is there a transaction in ABSO to do this? Do we put it back to the same asset number and remove the deactivation date? Will the monthly depreciation be the same?

    Hi,
    Since you have sold your asset in last year, then now it should be treated as a new asset purchase as per the best practises.
    1) Create a sub asset number under your old main asset master and post the F-90 with the amount, which need to be paid back to your customer. Then you can have the history against the main asset atleast
    2) Or else, if you want to re-initiate your old asset master, try to reverse your sale entry with current date using AB08. In this case, i am assuming that you have to return the same amount of money, which you have taken from your customer last year when selling your asset. 
    I am not sure about the 2nd case, whether it is advisable or not.

  • Assets taken on lease but Ownership rests with the vendor

    My Company  has taken many assets on lease from various vendors(xerox machine,Air conditioner ,machinery etc) for which the company pays rent on a monthly basis.Such assets are not capitalized by the company nor follows the lease accounting concept as the ownership is with the vendor.The company just requires to track such assets on a statistical basis in SAP .
    Is there a way out in SAP where we can statistically track such assets with the location info etc. just like an asset register

    Hi ajit,
    in such a case you will have to add a new depreciation area  to your chart of Depn with the indicator posting to G/L as " 0 "  as ' 0 " means no posting shoudl be made to G/l account and means its statistical
    Next you will have to Add this depn area in the asset class under the Transaction  " Detemine Depn areas in asset Class "
    Finally you have to Create an asset master and assign your requried Depn key to the Statistical Depn area .
    NOTE : you have to deactivate the Depn area 01 in the config which i mentioned to you about or simply assing the Depn Key 0000 in the filed DKEY in the asset Master to the Depn Area 01.

    New document type can be configured in SPRO - SAP IMG- Material management - Purchasing - Purchase order - Define number rabges / define document types.
    With out service master straightaway you can create the Service PO with account assigment.
    AC03 - Create service master record.
    ML10 - Model service specifications
    Then Service conditions ML33 or ML39 or ML45
    Create the PO and then do the service entry in ML81N
