All the boxes in the Assets page under file/project settings/assrts are disabled i need to change tick the second box saying CONVERT SAMPLERATE WHILE IMPORTING....Please help me to crack this..... I use the Logicpro 9 .1.8 in 64 bit mode on a Macbook pro os 10.6.8.....RS MANI

Issue with Asset under construction account

Hi all, I hope you can provide some assistance.
We have a situation where:
Asset created FY09
Internal order created and assigned to settle to the asset. FY09
Goods Received. FY09
Internal order Settled FY09
Asset disabled FY09
Goods Receipt Reversed FY10.
Settlement re-run FY10 as part of normal EOP processing. (Order was not clsd)
Settlement document Reversed when mistake was realised.
The AUC GL account is now out of balance as settlement cannot occur fully on the closed asset. The posting rules for the AUC account mean that you cannot post directly to AUC account.
Any suggestions or a transaction to synchronise the GL account for AUC with another P&L account would be appreciated.

Hi there, thanks for your feed back. We didn't want to reactivate the asset due to issues with depreciation etc. So what we did was create a new asset and assign it to the internal order with a new settlement rule. Then re- receipted goods inwards, settled and it all balanced correctly.

ZAM Clients not reporting unless requested

Hello. It appears that most of the clients (just over 2,000 PCs) in my environment are not reporting inventory when scheduled. If I run a report to find all workstations, and then select them and click on Scan Selected Workstation now (one page at a time, it takes a while), they eventually show up.
I only have one collection option set and one collection schedule.
On a couple sample PCs not reporting, I found that the following registry entry is blank:
HKLM\Software\Tally Systems Corp\TSCensus\CollectionClient\WifName
The following registry entry uses the host name, not the IP address, but every problematic PC I've tested can ping the host name.
HKLM\Software\Tally Systems Corp\TSCensus\CollectionClient\HostName
We're still mostly (95%) a Win2k environment, so PC a firewall is not the issue.
In the CPS.INI files, all I have are two section headings, no data. What else should be in there?

I added the "diagnostic=2" line at the bottom of the CPS.INI file on my workstation (WinXP) and I get the Collection Client and ColW32 results windows. They are long, but I'll include mine from today. My laptop is wireless, so it won't have an IP address and can't connect to the Asset Inventory server (WIASSET) right away. You have a few issues / potential issues in there:
1) HKLMSoftwareTally Systems CorpTSCensusCollectionClientWifName should be
empty for much of the time, so probably not an issue unless this is blank
during a scan.
2) HKLMSoftwareTally Systems CorpTSCensusCollectionClientHostName should
hold the resolveable hostname or IP address of the Collection Server. Have
you tested this by putting th IP address in instead, then restarting the
Collection Client service? This will rule out any name resolution issues
(you might also want to try a FQDN so it's definitely using DNS not
NetBIOS to resolve the name)
3) CPS.ini typically has the following:
[CollectionServer]
HostName=<coolection-server-hostname or IP adress>
[CollectionClient]
Inbox=InboxCC
But it will be initially blank (and often stays blank) if you deploy the
CLient via Remote Client Installer - I have no idea why.

able to if you restart the Collection Client after your wireless
connection is established - can you pls confirm?

I'm guessing the double 't' in "Asset Managementt" is something you
configured by accident, e.g. a typo when using RCI? Not sure if this
could be relevant.

Looks like the Client can't connect to your Collection Server as it can't
resolve it (0.0.0.0) at the time the Client service starts. Try
configuring with the IP address as in (2) above: If the Client cannot
connect, I'm pretty sure it retries every 30 minutes - but it may or may
not try to re-resolve the address... so if it caches WIASSET as 0.0.0.0 it
may never reconnect automagically.
Sending the "scan now" signal from the server will wake it up & it sounds
like this sorts out the name resolution issue (if that's what it is).

FYI this is Network Discovery (coincidentally) scanning the machine - so
you definitely have IP connectivity by this point in time (at )*:30 by the

- What is the Collection Schedule set to (Once, Daily, Weekly etc.) and
does it have an end date set?
- Do you have any machine type filters set in the Collection Option Set?
- Is the Collection Option Set associated to the Collection Schedule?

Group Asset Screen Layout disabled fields

Hi All,
We have created asset masters with Book and Tax depreciation, For tax depreciation we are assigning Group asset. Issue is while doing take over value with t- Code AS92, system should propose the field of APC Value and Accumulated Depreciation Value but both the fields are proposing only for Book Depreciation
In case of tax depreciation APC value is editable and Accumulated Dep value is disabled, requirement is we need to enter both the values for tax dep along with group asset assignment.
This is happening only when we are assigning group asset while creation of asset master. if you donu2019t assign group asset to the asset master then system is allowing us to enter both values in both the depreciation area.
I have checked necessary configuration regarding screen layout and not found any solution.
Kindly help in this regard.

Use when-new-form-instance personalization and disable all fields in the OTHERS tab. Once all fields are disabled, I believe the tab gets disabled too.

You will have to understand what a fixed asseyt means.
Consider and example that your office is buying a PC which is to be used internally for office use. That means this PC will not be sold. Items like these which are bought for internal usage and which are not sold are to be marked as fixed assets.
They are manadatorilty to be marked as Purchased items and Fixed assets.
Also when you are dealing with these items you need to rememeber that transactions for these items fall under special Transaction category hence in the vendor master in the accounting tab you need to define the Assets account for the Vendor.
Also all fixed asset items are laibale for periodic depreciation.You need to calculate the same for all these items.

Just getting started with the DMS 5.3. I have added a few test html assets into the DMM, but when building a presentation in Media Designer, they show up grayed out, disabled. What is the reason for this?

Thanks, Marco. This was it. I would have discovered this, but I was using Media Designer in Google Chrome. For whatever reason, the performance of this flash application is extremely poor in Chrome. The mouse cursor has significant lag and the html asset in a playlist was not rendering (stayed black). After showing a coworker who brought it up in IE on his machine, I noticed the application behaving quite well despite the fact that his machine was older than mine. In any case, I have just tried as you suggested. I guess the answer is to have a single element playlist instead of dropping a single media asset onto the canvas.

Is it possible to disable " Assign Asset" button by Menu exclusion

Hi,
We have a requirement to disable "Assign Asset" Button ( Nav: Capital Projects-->Search Project-->Click Asset button) by Menu exclusion.
I know it is possible with Form Personalization. But, we are exploring if this can be done via Menu Exclusion.
Now, the problem is, the menu is the standard menu (PA_SUPERUSER_GUI(PC)). There is entry for Capital project submenu.
But, There is no function attached to "Assign Asset" Button.
Please let me know if this is even possible in this case via menu exclusion.

I don't remember if I had the same problem on other phones or not, but I have had it on the 2G and 3G iphones.

Disable embedded closed captions from video Asset?

Hello all,
I have imported a H.264 file from Apple Compressor with embedded closed captions (not hardcoded I believe).
Is it possible to disable them? The automatic formatting of the captions is not suitable, and I would like to use the native Encore subtitle feature.
Please help, anyone who has experienced this before.

I think you might be right Stan. The video was supplied by a filmmaker, so I don't have any FCP projects.
I found an app called tsMuxer that looks inside video files for different components, and only recognised the video file. That makes me think they really are burned in. Oh well!
I'll post back if I find a different solution for further use.

Is it possible to disable security sandbox for debugging local asset files?

It would help our team out immensely if we were able to find a way that someone could have a network-hosted swf load files locally off your machine, without setting up the machine as a web server.
I realize this is a security sandbox violation. What I am asking is if there is a way around this, in the flash player debugger, through some other tool, etc.
The basic idea is that many of the people who create assets (pngs, jpegs, swfs) need to be able to test their work locally before uploading it to our servers.

You should be able to get rid of this message by enabling firewall. Click on options then security then firewall. Enable and save.

Adobe Assets: Option to disable "tranform: scale()" CSS3 rules when viewing PSD files?

Although right now I nolonger see the CSS3 rule being shown on any element, but the font sizes seem to rely that the scale rule is still there.
From what I understand the "transform: scale" is used to get a size closer to how it is viewed in Photoshop. But I haven't noticed any difference when I grab the offered CSS rules or if I calculate the font size by multiplying the two.
Why can't we just get the font size in pixels like they are set in Photoshop? They have always seemed correct and precise to me.

`transform: scale()` should only appear on text that has been scaled in Photoshop. Here are two examples:
in http://adobe.ly/1DmLCGj the text has no transform, and so no transform CSS is emitted
in http://adobe.ly/1Estf4k each layer has a different transform, and it is shown in the CSS
If you think the scale is being added to the CSS incorrectly, would it be possible for you to share your PSD with us, so that we can investigate?

As an asset management tool it should manage all images but only adjust raw

Is Aperture an image management tool, raw converter/workflow tool, or both?
Let it be both! Restrict what is is ALLOWED to ADJUST, but manage it all.
When I do a shoot, I start out with 300-1000 RAW images.
By the time I am finished with the client I will have narrowed the pile of image assets down to 20% of the original RAW files, JPGs of all of those, AND 10% of the selected originals will also end up as layered PSD/TIFF files. But when I go back in and want to open a PSD file then why not allow just that Then save it back as the same or a version..
OR when I tell it to open a PSD file in CS2 it will as "make a version(full or flat), or edit original?" and of course a "don't ask me again for this format" check box!
So why not leave the layered PSD/TIFF files alone and NOT allow them to be adjusted, only managed?
Think about it, IF I want to adjust my multilayered PSD file I will most definitely only trust that to CS2 where I retain full creative control over the layers, and I can output a version if I want!
IF I am crazy enough to feel the need to use the shallow tools of Aperture to tweak the brightness/level/curves/saturation/WB/etc/etc of a flattened COPY of my layered PSD file then I will make a copy and drag it into Aperture. By shallow I mean that CS2 and layers has much more control than the single layer tools of Aperture.
As an option leave it open as a configuration choice in the prefs... "Adjustable image formats: RAW, JPG" and even on a per image basis, right-click--> image status-->Adjustable or Unadjustable.

Right there with you. Here's my rough scenario:
1. I shoot 500 RAWs.
2. Cull down to 100 keepers.
3. Client culls down to their 50 selects.
4. Anywhere from 25-50 become layered PSD files, depending on the presentation the client wants (sizes, packages, borders, special effects, etc.).
5. In addition to those 25, there may be *completely new* composites (PSD's) created from combinations of the 25 -- this isn't a version of one of the original masters -- it is a *completely new* image that Aperture needs to manage in the project (so import of PSD without flattening and/or allowing Photoshop to Save-As into the Aperture library is a must).
I'd even add to your request about allowing adjustments. It would be totally cool if the adjustment tools were context-sensitive, enabled when working with an image (like RAW or JPG) where Aperture can adjust, and disabled when working with an image (like layered PSD or TIFF) that it won't adjust.
Anyway, I have complete confidence that eventually, the RAW conversion will be fixed, so even though that's an immediate glaring issue, it doesn't seem to me to be the long-term workflow killer. Being able to traverse this editing stage of the workflow with Photoshop is crucial. Without this, its basically
a complete project export after the initial organization stage, and the rest of the workflow is either managed entirely in another tool, or a complete pain to bring back into Aperture for output, which leaves files strewn everywhere for backup and archiving.

Unable to check-in, check-out and workflow videos in an Asset Library

Hi All,
This may seem like a silly question but I have yet to find anything official about why you cannot check in/out video files in an Asset Library or workflow them. We have an approval workflow in our publishing environment which works great and I'm able to
check in/out and workflow images and even documents in an Asset Library but not Videos. We want videos to go through an approval process as well and I'm not talking about simple Content Approval, we want it to go through an approval workflow but check in/out
is grayed out/disabled and of course we can't workflow the videos.
I take it there must be some reason for this but I haven't been able to find an explanation. Any info you can provide me was to why this functionality is disabled would be appreciated.

Hi Lisa, it appears to me that Video content type do not have checkIn/Out feature as it derived from folder CT. You can use document library to upload video using document content type and then checkIn/CheckOut. Hope this helps.
