Assign an output type to a message type

Hi all,
How do I assign an output type to a message type?
Thanks in advance.
JM

You maintain the output type determination settings for the inbound and outbound delivery handlers, so that output types can be determined for deliveries, pursuant to the message control mechanism.
<b> a.      You maintain the output types in Customizing for Logistics - General ->upply Chain Planning Interfaces (SCPI)-> Auto-ID Backend Integration->IDoc Processing ->Operational IDocs -> Output Type Determination -> Output Type Determination for Inbound/Outbound Deliveries-> Maintain Output Types</b>.
reward points if it is usefull....

  • Can we assign same  basic type to  different message type in ALE

    Hi Expert
can we assign same idoc type to different message type?

    Hi,
Yes you can assign the one idoc type to multiple message type. Message type nothing but it represents the kind of data we transfer. But idoc type is the format in which we transfer data. As an example in Messager types "ORDERS" and "ORDRSP"  both indicates the order related data, and in both case idoc type can be ORDERS01, ORDERS02.............

  • Want to add multiple idoc type with single message type.

    Hi Gurus,
I have a problem. I want to add multiple idoc type with single message type in WE20.
How we can do this in WE20 or is there any other way to do that?
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Srimanta.

    hi,
basically in partner profile i.e. in we20 , we add details to the receiver / sender port that we have created using we21.
so what exactly we do in that is that we first use the message type for those idocs that we have created.
now based on those message type we create a process code. now this is the reason why you cannot apply several message types with the same name in we20... as process code is unque for each message type.
so thats why you can only assign the same message name to several idocs in we82 and then in we20 define the process code for that message type.
    it will solve your problem.
    hope this will help you!!!
    Thanks & regards,

  • Types of fault message types

Can someone tell me the different types of fault message types available in XI?

    Hi,
    Fault Message Types
are used only for returining messages form the inobund side (application)
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/dd/b7623c6369f454e10000000a114084/content.htm
if you want to create error handling for a mapping
you can use transformation step (in a BPM)
add a block and catch the mapping error inside this block
(and for instance send a file from this exception branch
Refernces Fault message types for the Exception handling .
Fault message types corresponding to the standard SOAP Fault type can be included (execepted in the outbound Asynchronous case)
A fault message is a message that describes an application-specific error situation.
Fault message types are designed for application-specific errors that occur on the inbound side and that are reported back to the sender or persisted in monitoring.
    · In the synchronous case, when an application-specific error occurs on the inbound side, instead of sending a response message back to the sender, the application can send a fault message to handle the error.
    · The fault message of the application for an asynchronous ABAP server proxy is persisted for monitoring. In the case asynchronous of Java server proxies, the fault message is part of a negative application acknowledgement (see Acknowledgments).
Application-specific means that the application on the inbound side triggers the error itself because, for example, the request message did not contain sufficient information.

  • IDOCs - IDOC type ORDERS05 with message type MSGCHG

    Hi,
I'm in my first IDOC project and I'm facing a problem. I need to change sales orders with EDI messages, so I've decided to use message type ORDCHG and IDOC type ORDERS05. I'm filling segments E1EDK01, E1EDP01 and E1EDP19. In header the action is '003' to indicate I'm going to change items, and in item the action is '002' - change. I'm not changing all items of the order, so I only fill item segments for the item I want to change.
The problem is the F.M. IDOC_INPUT_ORDCHG looks to use batch input technique to update the order and the BDCDATA contents does not look good. And I receive a message saying VBAP-PSTYV is not an input field. I'm not entering the contents of PSTYV in segment E1EDP01.
Does anyone have any idea of what can be the reason for this problem ? For the error, and for the fact of the contents of BDCDATA do not look good.
And any idea of how to solve it.
And does anyone knows if the batch input technique is mandatory, or is there any way to avoid it like forcing the standard to use a BAPI ?
I'll really apreciate any possible help, because i'm without any idea about how to solve problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Paulo Sousa

If you go to SE11 and enter VBAP then finf the field PSTYV, double click on the field and see if the !fixed Value. ex" field is ticked, if it is this means that SAP is trying to get a value for this field from a fixed set of values.
You could try using WE19 to mess around with the IDOC in error and process the document as a standard inbound IDOB.  See here https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700002529571998E/default4.htm for some field entry examples
    Hope this helps,
    Conor.

  • Relation between message type and output type in ALE

    Hi
I have a meeage type with me. I want to find the processing routine for the idoc. Procesing routine is acessed from  NACE - application -output type ( as far as i know ). Now how do i know the output type for the message type. Are the output type and message type related ?
    thanks
    sankar

    Hi,
U can see the output type for message type here WE20 ->outbound parameters -> message control
For invoice if mesage type is INVOIC and its output type is RD00 or ESYM or MAIL.
output type is four character code which describes characteristics of output itself

  • Prevent new PO message type from being applied when changing an existing PO

I have created a new PO message type for EDI (ZED) which is working as required on new PO instances. Applied conditions are Doc Type, POrg and Vendor, with master data set accordingly.
My problem is when I enter an existing PO in ME22N, which has already been output under an NEU message, the system is applying my new ZED message type and I do not what it to do this.
Also note in Fine Tuned Message Control, I have not set ZED to reprint on changes.
    Can anyone help please?
    Kind regards,
    Neil

This is resolved I didn't need a new message type and deleted ZED. All message outputs now controlled under message type NEU, with required access sequences to suit EDI and other communication types i.e. Print/E-Mail

  • Display a new message type VL02N/03N

Hi masters, i have tried to create a new message type ZPL2 to display in the tx vl02n, but the message type is not visible in the "Issue Delivery Output", i create the message type in the transaction V/34, NACE i have configured this message type in the transaction vv22, but i dont get the form to use my new message type. can anyone help me with this? i have seen almost all the forums about this but i have not found an answer, in the attach images you can see my problem

Thanks Noel, this was the solution that i was looking for, i already can add the message type for an specific customer in the transaction VL02N->EXTRAS -> DELIVERY OTPUT ->HEADER, but i have to do this solution for an especific customer, there are any form that show the message type ZLP2 for all the Outbound Delivery with the Delivery Type ZLF1, or i have to do this always for each customer.

  • Create 2 outbound Idocs for 1 message type

    Hi Experts,
We are sending an outbound Idoc of message type DESADV.  We would like to trigger 2 Idocs per Shipping Notification.
    Could you please help?
    Thanks,
    Vitish.

    Hello Vitish
Each output partner can have it's own output. Also for the same message type. Maybe the 2 DESADV IDOC's are sent to different partners or destinations. But even when not you still can define 2 different output partners for the message type. Then 2 outputs will be triggered for the same message type.

  • Setting up new IDOC message type.

    Hi All,
I have created a new process code (ZMBGMCR) and linked message type MBGMCR to the process code and configured the process code to use function BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1. The reason I have created a new process code is because the standard message MBGMCR is not linked to a process code.
I have also created a new mesage type based on a reduced version of MBGMCR that. I have also link to the new process code. I have gone through all the interface customising to setup the new message type. I have linked an IDOC type (MBGMCR02) to the new message type (WE82), assigned the function module to the message type/ Idoc type (WE57), added the message type to the new process code ZMBGMCR (WE42) and configured the partner profile.
In testing the new message type, the IDOC is failing with an IDOC Interface is not complete message in the IDIC status record. In debugging function module BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1, the function fails in the check for an entry in TBDBA.   There is an entry for the standard message MBGMCR which is why the standard message works.
Does anyone know how this entry in TBDBA is created?

    Hi Sanjeev,
Message type MBGMCR which I have linked to my new process code works fine.  It's my new message type ZITRANS which I am having problems with.
I am getting further now by using transation BDBG to generate the ALE interface.  I have taken a copy of the business object BUS2017 to zBUS2017  and tried to link my new message type to the creatfromdata method of the object.  When I try and do this tells me that my IDOC type MBGMCR01 already exists.  This message type is already linked to message type MBGMCR.  Is it not possible to link two message types to the 1 IDOC type and generate the interface.  Do I need to generate the IDOC interface for each new inbound message type?  Am I on the right track?
Thanks for your help so far.
    Rgds,
    James.

  • Can a message type bind two process codes?

    Hi Experts,
    When I maintain the Partner Profile, I add a message type (ZQM1) as Inbound Parameters. Here I bind a message type ( ZQM1 ) with a process code ( ZQE11 ).

    Is this possible? Many thanks.
