Assign contact to dropped pin on Maps

Hi,
As topic says how to assign contact to dropped pin on the map. Sometimes maps can't find address of person which I would like to assign to that location so I drop pin on that location but then I can't get an option to "assign to existing contact" etc.
Is there any other way to do that?
Thanks

1. Tap the head of pin
2. Tap the "i" in the little blue circle
3. When new window open, tap Remove pin.

Tap on the pin, then tap on the blue i in the banner. One of the options in there is "Remove Pin".

How do I label dropped pins in Maps?  It would really be helpful to be able to label a dropped pin on a map with something like "Elk Hunting Spot".  I can't find how to do that.

When you drop a pin it should create a label for you.

  • IPad: How do I delete a drop pin on maps?

New user & have too many drop pins. I would like to delete some of them. Please help!

Tap on the pin. Then tap on the circled i. Thee may be an option to remove the pin. However, the pin may be associated with an address in your contact app and I think that you have to remove the address to remove the pin for a contact address. Also, you can associate a pin with a Map app bookmark. To remove those pins yo have to delete the Map bookmark.

  • Delete dropped pin on iPad iOS 6

How do you delete a dropped pin using maps on and iPad2 with iOS 6? Tapping the "i" in the blue circle near the pin opens a new window. However, the remove/delete dropped pin button is no longer there.

This is what I get after tapping the "i" in the blue circle for the pin.

  • I want to place a map pin in ios6. I place the pin in a rural area without an address. I add it to a nem in my contact book and the pin move 40 miles to a different location. Can I have a drop pin without an address?

I want to place a map pin in ios6. I place the pin in a rural area without a street address. I added it to a name in my contact book which does not have an address entry and the pin moved 40 miles to a different location. Not even the same zip code. Can I have a drop pin without an address? That way if I select a Contact entry it will still come up on the map in the right location.

  • Why doesn't the map search locations and only drops pins?

I started a project in iPhoto and used the map to show various locations.  It was easy to insert the locations as the map searched them for you.  Now I only appear to be able to drop pins and label them.  This is going to be very time consuming if I have to  precisely search each location manually... Any suggestions?

How do you set the location of a phot if it has nort recorded the GPS co-ords ?
I cannot see a way to drop a pin !... Tx
This discussion is about photos on the map pages in a photo book. You can drop pins on the map of a book to mark a place, but that does not assign a location to a photo.
While viewing a map in a book, ctrl-click a place on the map and select "Drop Pin".
Adding location data to photos is not supported in Photos. I hope, the next update will add this necessary feature.
Send feedback with a feature request:   Apple - Photos - Feedback
For the time being, you have to add GPS coordinates to the photos before importing them to Photos.
You could, for example, first import to iPhoto, add the locations, batch change the titles and captions, do all the things that are not yet supported in the new Photos, then export the photos from iPhoto and import them to Photos.
Or use the free exiftool, if you like the Terminal.

    To install exiftool: http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/%7Ephil/exiftool/install.html
Other convenient apps are Jetphoto Studio, Geotagalog, houdahGeo, there are many more ..
I use Jetphoto Studio, but it is not free.
If you updated iPhpto to version 9.6.1 before the update, you can still use iPhoto.
Just drag it back to the Dock from the Applications folder.
If you not yet have 9.6.1, update as described here:
Get iPhoto 9.6.1 if you didn't update before OS... | Apple Support Communities
The main idea is to move the iPhoto app to the Trash, so Spotlight does not see it as installed, reload the AppStore, and then to try to download again from the App Store - from your Purchases tab, not from the main page, since you can neither buy iPhoto nor update it, but you can reinstall, if your AppleID is associated with it.

  • Dropped pin - Contact

Is there any way to link a dropped pin with a Contact? Google Maps won't find the proper location of some houses and businesses because of confusion in street names and numbers. I can drop a pin on the real location and add it to bookmarks. But now I'd like to link to that bookmark from the Contacts list, not the Maps Bookmarks. Any way to do this?

I just discovered that you CAN do this. However, the option to add a pin to a contact only seems to be available when the pin is on a known address. Meaning, you found a known place with physical street address (like searchng for an airport) or by using a steet address (in the search bar) , then put a pin on it. Now you can touch this pin and get the option to add to a contact, or create a new contact with it.
It's not exactly what you want I think, since you wouldn't always know the address under the pin. Also, if you have an address in your contact you can just tap the address and maps immediately pops up and gives you a pin for it. You can then bookmark it.

  • Using drop pin feature in maps with other applications

Hi members, hope one of you can guide me. How do I find code or hyperlink to allow an iPad user use a ' find on map' link on an interactive digital magazine to allow the drop pin function on maps show the user the location they were looking for on maps. I understand that I am trying to use the existing features in maps and need to get my link to connect with and inform maps the details the user is looking for.
I hope my ramblings make sense. Mike

  • Maps: how to turn a dropped pin into a favorite

For iPhone iOS 8: The User Guide doesn't tell how to do this. Have dropped a pin at the current location but can't figure out how to turn it into a favorite. And then once you have a list of favorites, how do you access them?

Yes I had the same problem on the iPad with the new Apple Maps.
I have found that pins dropped by holding your finger on the map can be removed by the method described by the previous answer (from the Inofo panel) but pins that have been dropped by searches cannot be removed this way. To remove these pins clck on the search field and then in the top left corner of the 'Recents' list you will see 'Clear'. When you click on this you can clear all recent searches and all the drop pins associated with these searches should be cleard too. Trouble is it only 'clears all' you cannot 'swipe' to delete one at a time or 'Edit' the list.
    Hope this helps.
