Assign Controlling Area to Financial Management Area

Dear SAP Gurus!
I'm greatly distraught! I have been reading SAP HElP. I'm using ECC 6.0.
It says that to assign Controlling Area to Financial Management Area, I can go to the following menu path:
Enterprise Structure >> Assignment >> Controlling >> by choosing Assign controlling area to financial management area
However I'm not able to find the node "Assign controlling area to financial management area" in IMG.
I'm trying to activate Fund Managment within CO area and therefore would like to assign controlling area to financial management area. Currently I have created company code and controlling area and have also assigned the controlling area to the company code.
I would appreciate greatly your advise and feedback, thanks!
Regards,
Distraught!

Hi,
The FM area is not derived from a direct assignment of the organizational unit of Controlling, from the Controlling Area, to an FM area, rather from an indirect one.
The FM area is determined via the company codes assigned to the controlling area to which the FM area is assigned, whereby the company code is determined from the CO objects
You can deactivate the unrequired FM components from "Deactivate Account Assignment Elements in Controlling" which is in BCS.

  • Implementing FM, "Assign Controlling Area to FM Area" unavailable

    Hello,
This is the first time I implement FM. I have activated the following bussiness funtions, and I am following the IMG installation instructions.
One of the first steps is to assing a Controlling Area to a FM area, but this transaction is not available. It is not in Enterprise Structure --> Assingment --> Controlling. And when searching by transaction sapl0fmc, I get a message saying the transaction does not exist.
My cliente is already using FI and CO in production. I am doing this in Development.
The bussiness functions I activeted are the following:
    FICA_EF
    FICA_FM
    ISHERCM_MAIN
    PSCD
    PSCD_SETTINGS
    Am I missing something?
    Thank you in advance,
    Paola

    Hello,
Thank you for your answer. I have already asigned my company code to the FM area. But in the IMG implementation guide "Prepare Funds Management Installation", it clearly states in point 2:
You then assign an FM area to each company code and controlling area relevant to Funds Management.
    For more information, see sections:
    a) Assign Company Code to FM Area
    b) Assign Controlling Area to FM Area
If I navigate to "Assign Controlling Area to FM Area, I get:
Assign controlling area to financial management area
In this activity you assign all controlling areas relevant for Funds Management to financial management areas.
I posted this question since I was not able to find the transaction necessary to assign the Controlling Area to the FM area.
So, if I want to associate a Cost element to a Commitment Item, it is not necessary to assign a controlling area to a FM area?
    Thank you,
    Paola

    Hi,
As you see the Company Code Q001, that was not assiged to any Controlling Area. But if i type Q001 to CCode filed, there is an error:
Data in company code Q001 is not maintained.
    Message no. KT294
    Diagnosis
Assignment control requires that the currency, fiscal year variant, and chart of accounts are all maintained in the company code. At least one of these settings is not maintained in company code Q001.
    Procedure
Complete data maintenance in company code Q001. Only then can you assign company code Q001 to controlling area Q001 possible.
Cause may be the CCode was not assigned to 1 COA? Right?

i have activated my controlling area .
i have activated the the enterprise organsiation for this controlling area as active.
i am not able to assign the controlling area , nor company code nor cost center to my org unit.....
can any one tell me is there any other link between the controlling area and enterprise  organisation ????
    thanks & regards
    sharon

    Hi
first you need to ask your fico people that for which company code they have created the cost centre and controling area. if they have done for another company code means then it will not be possible to assign to your org. unit .
this assginement can do in IT1008 account assignment. pls check the comapny code here under which company code that unit is existing, and then try it will be resolved.

And if you dont want to change new project profile then You can do like that...While creating project in cj20n you can change controlling are before saving the project.

  • Configuration Controlling Area

  • Assign Chart of account to Controlling area

    Hi,
Why we assign Chart of account to Controlling area ?
    Regards,
    Pankaj

    Hi,
First of all I would like to tell you that we don't assign Chart of Accounts to a Controlling Area. It is the Company Codes that are assigned to the Controlling Area.
Now, the basic purpose of defining a Controlling area is that we want to capture cost and revenues for Internal Management Reporting. So this is where the Internal Accounting comes into play where we want to know about the internal reports pertaining to product cost, cost center reports, profit center reports, margins, contributions etc. All these helps us to analyses  the "Bottom Line"- Profit.
But the question that arises is how the expenses that are arising at the Financial accounting level be moved to the controlling area level? For this we assign company codes to a controlling area, but they should have the same chart of accounts and same fiscal year variants. Now the chart of accounts are nothing but a classification of structure and basic information about the G/L accounts. The  expenses that the company is incurring for its smooth operations are captured in the G/L accounts. The G/L accounts are defined under some specific Accounts group e.g.. Administrative Expenses, Depreciations, Secured Loans, Sundry Creditors etc. The frame work of these account groups is contained at the Chart of Accounts level.
So how should we make these values flow from FI to CO? The answer is that we will create these G/L accounts as Primary cost elements in Controlling. This ensures that expenses in Fi and the Primary Cost Elements in Co can be reconciled. So now there is a link that is been provided between FI and CO. This enables us to get both Eternal and Internal reports. Now, when we are assigning more than One company codes to one controlling area, then we should also have the same chart of accounts and G/L accounts so that we are able to draw reports easily without any discrepancies in the G/L accounts. For Company codes having different chart of acounts, we need to assign them to different controlling areas.
So in brief this is the role of Chart of Accounts in Controlling. I hope that you would be satisfied with the answer.
    Regards,
    Dhruv.

  • No credit segment assigned to credit control area

    Hi experts,
Do you know why the error below is  displyed `when I´m created a sales order..?
No credit segment assigned to credit control area
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Some of financial supply chain management parameters are active in your system that is why this type of error is appearing
Define segments and assign to credit control area
IMG >> Financial supply chain management >> credit management >> Integration with Account receivable and sales and distribution >> integration with sales and distribution
Here define segment and next assign it to crdit control area.

  • Assign Company Codes to new Credit Controlling areas after going live.

    Dear FI Experts;
    Our Status Now:
We Have 3 Company Codes, CC 1000, 2000, 3000 and one Credit Controlling Area Code 0001, and the Customers are assigned to this Credit Controlling area with no problems and we are live since about 9 months ago.
    Requirement:
We have a requirement to split the Customer Credit limit between companies, which means we have to create more credit control areas for example CCA 0002, and 0003, and though assign our 3 company codes to the new credit control areas, as follows:
    CC 1000 to CCA 0001
    CC2000 to CCA 0002
    CC3000 to CCA 0003
And my Question is, what is the procedures to follow to do that (Not a Customization Procedures, I mean the How the Customers would be affected and the open items for them and how to resolve that), since as mentioned above we are already live since 9 months ago, and credit management is active and all our customers are assigned to our old Credit control area 0001, and also what is the consequence of doing that new assignment since we are live, thanks for your reply

You will need to manage to create new credit master data under new credit control area. System should reorganize existing credit data after reassignment, that is when you change master data (create credit master under new credit control area), new credit exposure is calculated based on AR in company code and existing open orders will get rechecked for credit under new credit control area & new risk categories assigned to them.

  • Credit Control Area Management

    Dear All
As part of Enhancement,  we are configuring the "Customer Credit management" with Credit Control area organizational object.
Client has identified to use "Decentralized" Credit control management,  but however,  all comapny codes are assigned with one controlling area since implementation (since 2.5 years).
Though Credit Control area was assigned during implementation, it was actually not used.  Now they wanted to use the same.  However,  they wanted different Credit controlling area for different company codes.
However,  If I am assigning new Credit controlling area now to respective company codes, then system is considering the AR transaction data posted from the date it is assigned.  but, we want new credit control areas to consider all the data from past 2.5 years.  Is this possible?
If possible, please help, how to fix this.
    Your help highly appreciated
    best regards
    S Habib Pasha.

    Hi Habib
There is a standard SAP program that lets you revamp all the entered data to their correct credit control area and the steps involved are:
u2022     Table dumps of KNKK, S066, S067 on the old Credit Control Area
u2022     Check and export the values from Report VKM4 to ascertain the number of blocked orders
    u2022     In SM30, Update the Tables T014n and T001cm
u2022     Go to Transaction OB38 and assign your new CCA as default for the company codes
    u2022     Run the transaction F.28/RFDKLI20 execute without any parameters {check the test run output}
    u2022     Execute Program RVKRED09 {might not be required u2013 since RFDKLI20 does redo the credit check}
u2022     Validate VKM4 for all blocked orders
u2022     If there were any discrepancy between AR receivables and the Credit Master, it can be viewed by executing the Program RFCORR40
Also make sure that if you are using the different CCA for the same Co Code, in OB38 - you have checked the 'Overwrite CCA'' check box.
Hope this helps you; let me warn you - its a very tedious process and it might take a whole weekend to run this in a Production Client
    Good luck

  • Various FM areas are assigned to controlling area

    Dear Sir,
While uploading budget throufh KP06 the error is coming :
Various FM areas are assigned to controlling area 6000
         Message no. F6097
    Kindly suggest
    Regards
    Raj

    Hello Raj,
    There are many different reasons/options:
    1) If you are on EA-PS package 200 you can try note 723605 to avoid the error message.
    2) If you are not on EA-PS 200 (application release 4.7) the reason of the message F6097 is the following:
If for example Fund was activated in Customizing of Public Sector Management, it is not possible to assigned an company code to an controlling area, that is not FM relevant.
Please check if it is one assignment available. It can be field fund or the others available in the following SPRO settings:
SPRO -> Public Sector Management -> General Settings for Public Sector Management -> Basic Settings: Account Assignment Elements -> Activate Account Assignment Elements
Please check if you have activated Fund or Functional Area or Grant or Funded Program there.
How could you solve this problem: Please deactivate the fund (or the one that was active) temporary. Then assign FM area to Controlling Area. Then activate the fund again.
    3) Please notice, the standard is the following:
      COarea CCCC
           >  CompCode 0001     > FMarea FFFF
           >  CompCode 0002     > FMarea FFFF
           >  CompCode NNNN     > FMarea FFFF
All CompCodes, assigned to the same CO area have to be assigned the same FMarea. This is not so in your case. Because different local currencies in the assigned CompCodes you assigned FM areas with
corresponding currencies. Result: The assignment COarea <  > FMarea (via the CompCodes) is not ambiguity. This is what the error message of KP06 is saying (note  908908).
If you want change the currency settings in CompCodes to assign only one FMarea to all CompCodes maybe you have to covert the existing transaction data, too (see notes 89531 and 39919).
But I found a modification note 779180 it meets your assignments.
Please check that. Maybe it have to be extend that KP06 will work also then. I'm not sure if it will also work if you assign these CompCodes to the same COarea.
    4) The relation between FM-area and CO-area can only be 1 to n. Because there is no direct relation between FM- and CO-area, you have to check the relations between the assigned company codes to FM- and CO-area. Please read the doumentation under the path:
Public Sector Management -> Funds Management -> Master Data -> Enterprise Structure - Organizational Units -> Organizational Structures - Assignments.
I hope it helps to resolve your issue.
    Kind Regards,
    Vanessa.

  • Can we assign 2 credit control area for one company codes

    hi,
    sap gurus,
can we assign 2 credit control areas to one company codes ?

    can any one analyse.

    Hi,
we can have multiple credit control areas based on req-
eg: client wants to restrict customer based on divisoin wise.
then we will maintain credit control area based on sales area
there 3 division in a comp: AA -BB - CC
    thens sales areas will be:
    1000-10 -AA
    1000-10-BB
    1000-10-CC ( assuming therez one sales org-1000 & dc 10)
now create 3 cr control areas- OB45
Assign sales area to cr Control area - OVFL
Assign permitted credit control areas to comp code - IMG- FA- AR&AP- Credit Management- Credit control account - Assign permitted credit control areas to comp code.
Now you can assign this Cr CA- by sales area wise in CMR & maintain the credit limits for each Cr CA.
So when ever your needs wants to do it by division or sales area wise you can do this.
    Thanks,
    Raja

  • My problem is that after printing the first photo or picture, when I come to print a second, both the Colour Management and Epson Colour Controls are greyed out and showing No Colour Management

I have recently purchased a Mac computer (updated to Maverick) to go with my Epson Stylus Photo RX500 printer which has given excellent service with my old Windows computer. However, when trying to print pictures or photos via Photoshop Elements 11, the best results I can get are using the Colour Management and Epson Colour controls in the printing options box.
My problem is that after printing the first photo or picture, when I come to print a second, both the Colour Management and Epson Colour Controls are greyed out and showing No Colour Management, The only way I can reset the controls is to shut down the printer and computer and restart.
Could there may be a setting somewhere that I need to adjust please?  I have been in touch with Epson and they say that the Epson Colour controls are part of the Photoshop Elements software but a post on the Adobe forum brought no results and I am unable to contact Adobe.
    <Edited by Host>

Hello Garry. Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have used a different title from "How do I post a question?" That should come after trying to resolved the colour settings first. However, to answer your question, after experimenting with all the different settings in Photoshop Elements and Epson software, I now start with PSE11 Colour settings then click "no colour management" then after clicking Print, I choose "More Options/Colour Management/Colour Handling/Printer Manages Colour" then I choose "Page Setup/Layout/Colour Matching" which then shows Epson Colour Controls but I also choose "Layout/Colour Management" which then shows "Colour Controls/Mode" I then of course choose an Epson printer profile depending on the paper I am using. I get good results but as I said, the Colour Matching and Colour Controls are then greyed out. Hope that makes sense.

  • Error while assigning Operating concer to Controlling Area

    Hi...
while I am trying to assign operating concern to controlling area, the system is showing the following error message.
    Diagnosis
Controlling area 7500 and operating concern 7500 have different fiscal year variants (01 and K4). However, for cost center assessment, settlement, and many other types of postings to Profitability Analysis, the controlling area and the operating concern must have identical fiscal year variants, otherwise error messages or serious data inconsistencies can occur.
But i already changed fiscal year variant from K4 to 01 in Operating concern and i run the generate operating concern environment also. still the system is showing the same error message.
Is there anything more i need to do after changing fiscal year variant in Operting concern.
    Please help me.
