Assign cost element to a line ID in the assignment in KKA2

Hello all,
While executing the KKA2 for particular WBS element getting error "Assign cost element 9221EF to a line ID in the assignment".
Analysis:
In OKGB the particular cost element is added and masked with cost center and activity  type still in KKA2 getting the same error.
If any one having idea please help me in this.
Regards
Kiran

Hi,
For RA in WBS you need to maintain the cost elemnet / line ID link in OKG4.

  • Cost elements set in KEI1 A1 Settle Production Variances?

    Dear Experts,
What kinds of cost elements would be set in KEI1 If the PA transfer str. is A1Settle Production Variances?
    10     Input price variance
    20     Input quantity variance
    30     Resource-usage variance
    40     Remaining input variance
    50     Mixed-price variance
    60     Output price variance
    70     Lot size-/fixed-cost variance
    80     Remaining variance
    90     Scrap
Could i say "cost elements that we can see when we do KKS1 variance caluation?
    Or else?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
You NEVER assign cost elements to value fields for mapping the settlement in COPA. Instead of that what you do is in the source tab for the line (eg 10 Scrap) select the radio button called ' varainces on production orders' and input the appropriate variance category eg. eg SCRP. In value field tab you would assign the appropriate value field. There is no need to assign cost elements. When you execute variance calculation the information is captured in the following fields and the same flow to COPA when you assign the variance category to value fields.
    PRIV      Input Price Variance
    QTYV     Input Quantity Variance
    RSUV     Resource-Usage Variance
    INPV             Remaining Input Variance
    MXPV     Mixed-Price Variance
    OPPV     Output Price Variance
    LSFV     Lot Size Variance/Fixed-Cost Variance
    REMV     Remaining Variance
    SCRP     Scrap
The variance calculation is not just a simple difference between the cost elements it is also related to quantity as well.
    Kind Regards // Shaubhik

  • There are values for cost element 80000 that are not assigned to any line I

    Hi,
While calulating WIP I am getting below error:
There are values for cost element 80000 that are not assigned to any line ID
    Message no. KJ161
    Diagnosis
Not all values for the cost element are assigned to a line ID.
    Procedure
Assign the cost element to a line ID. If you don't want to include the cost element in results analysis, assign it to a line ID of category N.
You can access a detailed list of unassigned cost elements as follows: Start results analysis in the individual processing mode (transaction KKA1, KKA2, or KKA3). Select the field Full log. Execute the function. On the next screen, choose Logs -> Parameter List in the menu. A list is generated. The unassigned values are shown at the end of the list.
If cost element "+++++++++" was shown in the message, this is because in the assignment of costs and revenues to line IDs, you have not used a cost element other than the full masking "+++++++++". In this case a presummarization eliminates the information on the cost element.
Cost Element 80000 is of type 43 Internal activity allocation, I have Masked this in OKGB as below:
    Controlling Area = FLGP
    RA Version = 0
    Masked Cost Element = 000008++++
    Masked Cost Center = ++++++++++
    Masked Activity Type = +++++
    ReqToCap= COS (Secondary Cost)
I have Configure OKGA also but still system is giving error.
    Please help me to understand.
    Regards,
    Vivek

I was wondering if you could help me I am trying to configure the RA key for Refurb orders and when I go into txn OKGB for the Assignment of C/E for WIP there is sample config already there which I copied.  But I am having difficulty getting the KK1A to work I am getting the message as outlined above.  Could you explain how this OKGB works and how to configure it a bit more fully.  In my sample config there is a ReqTOCap section and in it there are letters like ABR, EK, FK, EL what do they mean.  This is a screen shot of it.  I am not sure how to go about this entirely so any light you could shed would be greatly appreciated.  Can you suggest a good resource or documentation you may have, would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi
If you are aware of FI substitution or validation, it works the same way
    1. Go to OKC9 and click on New entries
    2. Enter your contr area and choose Event = Line Item and Save.. It would ask for a transport request
    3. Now click on the magnifying lens icon, then drill down on cost accounting > Line Item. Now click on Create Substitution icon and give it a name
    4. Now click on Create Step and write your substitution by choosing fields from the COBL structure
It should like like, Prerequisites: IF COBL - BUKRS = XXXX and Cost Ele = YYYY,
Action to be taken if Pre-req is met - Substitute WBS = ZZZZ

  • Cost element 7000218 is not assigned to a cost component in CostCompStruct

    Dear All,
How to change the standard price in MR21 for materials with Price Determination Control 3 ( header level V & 3) (Split level S & 3)
In MR21, when I am updating the price for initial stock uploading.
It throws me a error Cost element 7000218 is not assigned to a cost component in CostComp Struct 01
Actually the cost component structure 01 is not active. we are using OP cost component structure & it is active , further the  assigned to  the company code level.
Cost element 7000218 is assigned to the cost component structure OP.
please suggest why it result in above error, even though we are not using cost component structure 01.
    Regards
    Subbu.

    Hi,
Did you change the cost component structure assignment for the plant ?
This error could be produced due to the fact that for this plant the cost component struture was changed from 01
But ML tables makes reference to the old cost component structure.
    You can check table CKMLKEV.
During the creation of the material the system creates data for the current, previous and last period of the last year (12 2010).
Therefore the system tries/ needs to create also a cost componet split for the period 12 2010. For this it must used the cost component structure for this period 12 2010 (maybe 01).
In such a case you have to define the cost element in '01' as well.
Please do read note 434873 carefully for the side effect and correct procedure to change cost component structure.

  • Cost element and Line item reports show different actual costs

    Hi PS experts,
My client has an issue pertaining to actual cost reports. The cost element report shows actual costs $42,000 for one WBS and when I double click to see details the value it shows is $2100. Even when I checked line item report for this WBS the value is $2100. What could be the reason for getting different values? If some one throw some light on this it would be great helpful to me
    Regards,
    Laxminarsimha

    Laxminarsimha
The values in CJI3 should be correct and will include all postings (e.g. Settlement values) and possibly Actual Revenues unless a filter is in place - so take this as being your correct figure to start with.
Your drilldown will show the same value as CJI3 because it is CJI3
Any cost element report you are using is probably correct for what you are asking - is this a Standard Cost Element Report you are using or is it bespoke
One thing to be careful of when you drilldown on Cost Element Reports is that you do not always get the a make up of the value you have drilled down
    e.g.
Cost Element Report was run for Period 1 to 6 2008 and shows £100.00
You drilldown and sometimes the drilldown automatically shows ALL line items e.g £500.00 (not just the values for periods 1 to 6 of 2008 which you may expect £100.00)
In the past I've removed the drilldown capability from bespoke cost element reports to prevent drilldown to the line item report (which is CJI3) because of this problem.
Usually where values for a a number of periods only (not total costs) was required
    Other factors to consider
Revenues/Settlements may be excluded from Cost Element Report but will not be excluded from CJI3 unless you specifically restrict
You need to identify which types are postings are missing from the Cost Element Report (what is common...cost element, dr/cr indicator, business transaction)
I've also hit the mistake in the past where I've asked for periods 1 2007 to period 3 2008 and instead of giving me just over a years worth of actual it gave me actuals for periods 1 to 3 for 2007 and 1 to 3 for 2008.
    Hope this helps
    Steve

When creating an entry, you entered a key, which already exists.
    System Response
    The entry cannot be created.
    Procedure
Specify another key or remove the entry using the function Skip.
Kindly help to solve the issue  : IT is going only it's urgent
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
Every cost element can only be assigned to one cost component.
For example cost elements 610050 to 611000 have already been assigned to cost component 10. For this reason, message SV009 ('An entry already exists with the same key') is issued if you try to assign these cost elements also to cost component 11. This is the correct system behaviour.

  • Functional Area assigned to Cost Elements

    Hi All,
Where can i see the list of cost elements assigned to different functional areas.
    Thanks in advance.

Use tr. KA23 for collective processing of cost elements.
You can use the radio button to display all cost elements, or you want to filter the cost element list for only certain functional areas you can use the option for a Selection Variant.  Just click on the Create icon and input your functional area(s) and save the variant and give it a name and description.  Then return to the KA23 screen and use F4 help or input the variant you saved.
After you execute the report and the list is returned, you may not see functional area immediately by default.  Simply use the icon to change the layout and send the functional area field from the column set on the right to the displayed columns on the left.
If you have access to tr. SE16 or SE17 you can also simply look at the table contents of table CSKA to see the assignments of functional area to cost elements.

  • Activity Type and Cost Element Assignment wrong

The cost element appearing in Transaction code KP26
( Activity type planning), should come through the master data of the activity type.
What I am observing in my system, that for the combination of the Cost center and Actvity type , in KP26 the same cost element is not appearing as per the master data of Activity type. And also the cost element filed is gray. It is happening for 2008 financial year only.
    How to correct this problem?
Is there ant note to be applied.?
    Kamlesh

This is normally a result of changing the CE while the Activity Type was active and in use (planned against and/or activity confirmed for some production orders).
One solution is to curtail the activity to the end of the period you are in and create a new one from the following period. Just beware that you may need to change the routings, splitting rules, etc. as well.
    Cheers.

  • Settle Production Variances to COPA- Cost elements and Value fields

    Dear All,
I know this question has been discussed in the past, but I have one specific doubt regarding this topic.:
When assigning cost elements to variance categories in t-code KEI1, how do we figure out what combination of cost elements (in the top half of the screen) constitute Input Price Variance, Scrap variance etc (in the bottom half of the screen)? I know the net of the postings on those cost elements tells us what variances we are looking it, but how do we get the cost elements (group) for let's say, 'Input/Output Quanity Varinace or 'Lot size Variance' ?
Or is this a futile exercise? May be I should just create three types of variances: Labor, Machine and Overhead. And I know what cost elements (net of the postings) would, in total, make up the $ variance in each of those categories. I can then use them in my report painter reports.
Please help clear the fog for me.
    Ajay?
    Thanks a lot,
    Deepak

    Hi Deepak,
    Welcome to SDN!!
There are 2 ways of updating variances in COPA... I Prefer the 2nd option always...
    1. Category wise variances (Input Prc, Usage var, etc) - Here, create a Cost ele group, where in you include all the Cost elements that can be posted to the Prod orders
For the sake of simplicity, you can include Cost elements 1 to 99999999 in the Cost element group...
    2. Cost Comp Structure wise variances -
    a. Create as many assignment lines in PA Trf Structure as in your Cost Comp Str...
Eg: If your Cost Comp Str in OKTZ has Raw Mat, Labor, Overhead - Create 3 Assignments in PA Trf Structure..
    b. Assign the same cost elements in the SOURCE as in the Cost Comp Str
    c. Choose the radio button "Costs/Revenues" in your assignment line, instead of " Variance on Production orders"
    d. Assign each Assignment line to a separate Value Field

  • Display of secondary cost elements in KSB1

    Hi
One of our customers wants to delete the view of Secondary Costs to a particular cost center in Actual View of Cost Line Items (through T Code KSB1). The costs flow to the secondary cost elements based on the activity type carried out. The system is calculating the total cost and then deducting the secondary costs again from the total cost as a result of which the overall costs are in the negative. The customer wants to display the total costs only and not the flow to the secondary cost elements, even, though the data is posted for the current fiscal year for the said cost elements.
Some transaction data already exists for the secondary cost element. We tried to changed the settings in allocation cost settings to Allocation Type 4, Manual Entry, no allocation for a future date, but still the costs are flowing to the cost element. Pls suggest a way out.
Would assign points if the problem is sorted.
