Assign keys (note-on) to patches

Hi everybody,
I am using MainStage 3 with my stagepiano (Kawai MP-10) which has wonderful keyboard action but only few MIDI controllers. I am looking for a way to quickly change patches from my keyboard. I have lots of patches, so clicking through the patches via "next patch" and "previous patch" is not what I want.
My plan is the following: assign particular note-on events on a certain MIDI channel (e.g. 16) to particular patches, such as "C3 to set1 patch1, D2 to set1 patch2, C4 to set2, patch1".
I know how to assign certain note-on events to actions, but I do not know how to use an action to set a parameter (such as patch-number) to a particular value.
Can anybody help me?

it's simple: I created a screen-control button for each key that is meant to trigger a patch change, then I assigned a "jump to patch" to each button and everything works fine!

  • Acct determination for Account-assigned purchase order with keys not define

    Hi,
    I'm trying to post an IDOC of type BBPIV through XI to an R/3 system.
    The posted idoc in R/3 is in status 51 (Application document not posted) with the error message "Acct determination for Account-assigned purchase order with keys not defined in chart of acts WP2P"
    As per my understanding this is something related to FI.
    Long text of the error is "The system cannot generate an automatic posting because there is no account determination defined for Account-assigned purchase order with keys   in chart of accounts WP2P.
    Correct the account determination for Account-assigned purchase order"
    Please help me how to solve this.
    Regards,
    Rashmi

    Hiya,
    This looks like its a MM posting / transaction.
    You need to go to OBYC and maintain the account assignment. If you provide the business scenario (GR into Stock, Subcontracting, etc.) for the process, I may be able to help.
    VKOA is for SD account assignment and I don't believe you can use that here.
    Cheers.

  • Number Key not assigned

    Dear all,
    In J1inmis While updating the challan i m getting error number key not defined
    Please suggest
    Regards

    Hi,
    J1INMIS is a withholding tax report.. and I think ypu are referring to J1inchln..
    You have to assign number ranges for internal challan generation..Go to T-code J1INUMBER and maintain no. ranges for internal challan numbers.. But before that you have to maintain number Groups and assign number ranges to number Groups..

  • Assign midi notes to key commands

    In LP7 I had some midi notes assigned to key commands. Is it possible to have it in LP8? I tried to assign them using the "learn new assignment" key but I couldn't find the old "Toggle midi remote" function. Is there a way to do it?
    Thanks

    Daryl, do you have Logic Express installed already or not? Touch tracks objects are Environment objects. Environment is used for advanced Logic setup. However, trigger modes for touch tracks objects are limited to just starting/stopping playback of the midi-clip assigned to it. Here is how it is written in the manual:
    Trigger Modes
    The Trigger column determines how region playback is handled:
    Multi: Playing the trigger note starts the region. Playing it again restarts the region,
    without stopping playback of the originally triggered version.
    Single: Playing the trigger note once starts the region. Playing it again stops
    playback, and restarts the region.
    Gate: The region plays until the trigger note is released (or until the region ends).
    *Gate Loop*: The region loops until the trigger note is released.
    Toggle: Playing the trigger note starts the region. Playing it again stops playback.
    *Toggle Loop*: Playing the trigger note starts region looping. Playing it again stops
    playback.
    There are always workarounds to make Logic work as you want though. However, I'd recommend considering Ableton Live as an alternative. Just google it and download the manual to look at it's potential.

  • Private Key Not Found Error in Ldaps

    Hi,
    I am facing "Private Key Not Found" Error in ldaps. The key and the SSL certificate is stored under the same location. The certificate is self signed certificate and in .pem format. When I am trying to install the certifcate through SUN ONE Console it throws the following error
    "Either this certificate is for another server, or this certificate was not requested using this server".
    can any one help me in this regard.

    Or even better, check the note <a href="https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=924320&_NLANG=E">924320</a>.
    <b>Symptom</b>:
    When you execute a query with virtual characteristics or key figures, the system issues the following error message:
    Object FIELD I_S_DATA-<key figure> not found
    <b>Other terms</b>
    RSR00002, RSR_OLAP_BADI
    <b>Reason and Prerequisites</b>
    This problem is caused by a program error.
    <b>Solution</b>
    If the virtual characteristics or key figures are implemented using the enhancement RSR00002 (CMOD), implement the corrections.
    If the virtual characteristics or key figures were created directly as implementations of the RSR_OLAP_BADI BAdI, compare the source code of the INITIALIZE method with the corresponding source code example. During the call of GET_FIELD_POSITIION_D, <L_S_SK>-VALUE_RETURNNM must be transferred instead of <L_S_SFK>-KYFNM.
    Import Support Package 08 for SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI (BI Patch 08 or SAPKW70008) into your BI system. The Support Package is available when Note 0872280"SAPBINews BI 7.0 Support Package 08", which describes this Support Package in more detail, is released for customers.
    In urgent cases, you can use the correction instructions.
    To provide advance information, the note mentioned above may be available before the Support Package is released. In this case, the short text of the note still contains the words "Preliminary version".

  • Using A Key To Change A Patch

    I'm using MainStage in a scenario that requires a number of quick patch changes in tightly scripted music.
    In one particular situation that change is so tight that I want to assign one of the keys on the (piano) keyboard to change the patch. That is, I want one of the notes in a passage that I'm playing to cause the patch to change to the next in line.
    This was pretty simple to accomplish.
    The problem is that when the command was mapped to the MIDI note at the patch level (not at the Concert or Set level) it disabled that note's ability to trigger audio from the soft-synths. This happened not only for that note in that patch, but for that note for all the patches in the concert.
    I want the key to both change the patch and continue to function as a playable note.
    Any idea on how to do this?

    The main thing that I'm trying to figure out is this:
    If I map a parameter to a note played on the keyboard, why does it disable that note from triggering a pitch as well? Keep in mind that the patch change command was set at the 'patch level' (not the 'concert' or 'set level'. I don't know why the mapping would affect anything outside of that patch.
    I haven't considered the multi-channel solution. It's not an important enough problem for me to search out a solution that could impose other unknown issues at this point.
    I know that Kurzweill's can easily use a MIDI note as a 'patch increment' command without disabling that note's sound-triggering function. I wonder how to do it in MainStage.

    Hi there,
    first, "SQLNET.CRYPTO_SEED = 'KakdlkLAKMXM0000sdsdsadadeffdmsdmdkmdv" is no longer needed, the DB creates a seed itself and ignores this string.
    Then, on to TDE ...: These things happen if you had a wallet before, and that wallet was deleted; now if you create a new wallet, the TS MK is missing. Looks like you didn't encrypt any data yet. You might see if you get https://updates.oracle.com/download/8682102.html for your DB version; apply the patch, decrypt all data, cycle through all log files and then create a new wallet. That might work, but I can't promise.

  • Not Allowing "Next Patch" To Change Set

    I'm trying to solve a simple problem with MainStage 3.  I've got a number of sets with multiple patches in each, and I want to be able to switch back and forth between patches within sets without the danger of accidentally switching sets, since each set is on an individual click track.  I've mapped different keys to change patches and to change sets, but if I get to the last patch within a set I'd like the key that cycles to the next patch to not do anything.
    Basically, I want to switch sets only by using the key mapped to do specifically that, and I'd like the keys mapped to change patches not to have the ability to move from set to set.  Is this possible?

    See:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options/Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
    The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

  • Ken burn effect in key note

    Hallo
    one of my customers ask me if key note has the ken burn effect included.
    he likes this effect and has many pictures to insert in his new presentation.
    Thank you
    Maurizio Celant

    Not in plain sight, but you can assign an image an action called "scale" which would increase or decrease the size of an image, or "move" which would allow you to move the image in the slide.  If the person is looking for it as a slide transition, then apply the "scale" or "move" action to the image and have the slide dissolve into the next automatically after the action.
    It would take a little getting use to how to work with the builds, actions, and transitions (though not difficult), but the Ken Burns effect can be manipulated to the user's liking.

  • What keys to assign Key Commands to

    Is there anyone out there that has really got a good system for assigning Key Commands to groups of keys? My KC system has developed sort of spasmodically as I have got to know the Logic over the years.. and without proper 'town planning' things are getting over crowded on my Apple Keyboard.
    I would appreciate comments from anyone who has a 'logical' mind who thinks they have a good system/choice for which keys to programme groups of key commands for ease of workflow. In particular I would be interested in:
    - Score Editor
    - Midi writing
    - Automation
    along with a word about favourite key commands
    thanks in advance
    MS

    Suggest orienting as many of your key commands on the LH side of the keyboard so that you can keep your RH hand on the mouse.
    The following is just a sampling of my k/c assignments; at this point I've been using these so long that I couldn't tell you if any of them resemble the factory k/c assignments, but anyway, here's a short list that don't use any modifier keys:
    F1 = event editor (lists)
    F2 = matrix/piano roll (within arrange)
    F3 = score editor (arrange)
    right below that...
    1 = event editor (opens separate window)
    2 = piano roll (sep. window)
    3 = score editor (sep. window)
    ESC = close window
    Q = quantize
    A = catch on/off
    V = toolbox
    D = MIDI out toggle (in editors)
    C = cycle
    H = hyperdraw autodefine
    F = continue (need to press it 2x to play when Logic is stopped)
    B = browser (media)
    L = library
    X = set locators to region and play
    Note how except for "H" and "L" (a new addition for L8) they're all on the LH side of the keyboard, and no modifier keys needed.
    Some RH-oriented key commands include:
    \[ = set left locator w/o rounding
    ] = set right locator w/o rounding
    Those plus SHIFT give me the same functions but with rounding
    As for key commands with modifiers, you might want to set up a system for yourself where you reserve specific modifier keys (or combinations of modifiers) for certain categories of tasks. For example, you could reserve CNTRLSHIFTkey for score editor-specific commands, such as:
    D = defeat interpretation
    F = force interpretation
    B = beam selected
    U = unbeam selected
    . = add staccato to selected notes
    - = add tenuto to selected notes
    < = crescendo
    ">" = diminuendo
    ( = slur below
    ) = slur above
    # (actually, "3") = enharmonic shift #
    @ (actually, "2") = enharmonic shift b
    ...and so on... Note that these aren't all LH oriented, but I like the idea of using character shapes ("<" = cresc.) as mneumonics where possible.
    In general I'llI use CNTRLOPT+SHIFTCMD for "dangerous" (global) operations such as changing all tracks to READ or TOUCH. Speaking of automation...
    I have F9 programmed to turn plug-in automation on/off. But toggling this without having the automation prefs visible means that you'll be toggling this function in the blind. So I have F10 programmed to open the automation prefs panel.
    Ultimately I'd suggest that you set up your key commands so that they make sense to you.

  • Captivate 7 Button Shortcut Keys Not Working

    In captivate 7 I have several button interactions that worked in 5.5, but do not work in 7.  I am using shortcut key combinations (i.e. CtrlC and CtrlV) to have the user navigate to the next slide. I have replaced the interactions and they still do not work. Any ideas?

    I will provide more information.  The files I am working with were created in Captivate 4.  We moved up to Captivate 7 and these files had to be processed through Captivate 5.5 so I could open them in Captivate 7. The tasks being trained involve Systems Training where the user enters keystrokes, like the Enter key, and several key combinations, like Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V. In Captivate 4, to simulate these functions, I used the Transparent Button with No Mouse Click and the Shortcut Key or combinations. I had no problems, everything worked fine. When I was cleaning up the new Captivate 7 file, is when I noticed the key combinations (i.e. CtrlC, CtrlV) no longer allowed the project to navigate to the next slide. It does not produce a failure or show the Failure caption. It is like it is accepting the key combination as valid, but not performing the action to navigate to the next slide. The only way I found to get around this issue was to uncheck the Visible in output check box.
    I was also recreating some of these files from scratch in Captivate 7 and did notice unchecking the Visible in Output box would cause the button to be ignored and the project would just continue. I did notice the keystroke combination setting in the Shortcut on the button does not work.  Even in a clean Captivate 7 file. Further testing showed this is somewhat erratic. For instance if I assign CtrlA or CtrlN as keystroke combinations, the project navigates as expected. If I use CtrlX the same problem occurs as with CtrlC and Ctrl+V. Also, the Failure caption does not display when using a wrong keystroke combination. It only works with single keys, not to include Ctrl or Alt. In Captivate 4, the Failure caption displayed correctly with the keystroke combinations.
    I am using Captivate 7 (32 bit) with Windows XP SP3 on a Pentium 4 with 4 Gb of RAM. I know…extremely slow, but this is the best the state would provide. I hope this information has made things a little clearer.

  • Function key not allowed error??

    Hi i have a member form which has text items and radio buttons corresponding to their details. I have a button where the user clicks and the button displays an LOV of members. When i select a member, after pressing ok on the button i get an error message saying:
    FRM-41009: FUNCTION KEY NOT ALLOWED. PRESS CTRL+F1 FOR LIST OF VALID KEYS.
    can someone tell me why this is occuring after i have selected a record from my LOV and pressed OK?? What should do to resolve this??

    You'd better have a text item (lets its name be my_text_item) that have a button (named SEARCH_MEMBER_LOV_BUTTON). you want to click on button and a LOV (named SEARCH_MEMBER_LOV)displays. you select a member from the list whose value come in the my_text_item.
    Double-click on my_text_item for property palatte. scroll down to List of Values LOV section. here you will see List of Values property. to assign the LOV select SEARCH_MEMBER_LOV from the list of values.
    That all!

  • E72 bug: can't assign active notes to any of the o...

    another bug with the one touch keys after the new firmware.
    (previously the long hold contact key did nothing, which was fixed)
    you can't assign active notes to any of the one touch keys. you can assign other built-in apps or 3rd party apps you install but you just won't find active notes.
    nokia, please fix the one touch keys once and for all will you

    I have Active Notes (not just notes) on the right selection key of my E72 (s/w v. 052.05), and they _are_ on the list. Perhaps the upgrades are region-dependent - I waited quite a while for my update (Danish/Norwegian/Icelandic/English).
    Sorry, but I daren't select another function and go back to see if I can select Active Notes again, but they _are_ there now, but were taken over from the previous s/w version in my backup.

  • Transportation lane KEY not getting generated in the table

    Transportation lane KEY not getting generated in the table
    Hi folks,
    The issue is like this :
    We have a weekly workorders upload program from legacy systems to SAP-APO. The legacy planners send a .CSV file containing material-wise workroders. A customised zee program picks these quantities & writes them in Prod.planned keyfigures in SNP planning book. This process is done for the manufacturing locations only.
    Lately workorders for two particular material M1 & M2 had failed to get upload. It gives the error 'NO VALID SOURCE OF SUPPLY COULD BE FOUND' in its Job log. We did some debugging & found that for successful materials the  TRPID is getting generated in the table /SAPAPO/V_TRPROD  whereas this TRPID is missing for M1 & M2. Why this is happening is our main concern. We tried deleting the PPM & creating this again, assuming that the PPMID is the precursor for generating this TRPID, but this yielded no results.
    ____ for successful upload______________
    se16 --> /SAPAPO/V_TRPROD
    Version = 000
    LOCTO = LOCID KEY for manufacturing location
    MATID = MATID KEY of successfully loaded workorder
    Enter
    This gives the following results
    TRPID = TRPID KEY
    LOCFR = LOCID KEY for manufacturing location
    LOCTO = LOCID KEY for manufacturing location
    MATID = MATID KEY for successfully loaded workorder
    ( This seems a self-lane, i.e both TO & FROM location are same)
    ____ for unsuccessful upload________
    se16 --> /SAPAPO/V_TRPROD
    Version = 000
    LOCTO = LOCID KEY for manufacturing location
    MATID = MATID KEY for unsuccessfully loaded workorder
    Enter
    This gives the following results
    Error = No Table entries found for specified KEYS
    We are perplexed why this TRPID is not getting generated for these two particular material M1 & M2?
    We have deleted their PPM & re-created them to cross-check if the PPMID KEY is the trigger for generating the TRPID key. This didn't work!
    Please let us know in case someone faced a similar issue.
    Many Thanks.

    Yes Anand.
    We deleted the PPM & created it again, which didn't work.
    Later on we deleted the product itself from APO & re-CIFed it from R3 & then re-created the PPM.
    The PPMID which was missing earlier is now getting created! However no luck with the TRPID.
    Why this TRPID is not getting generated in our only concern

  • Null keys not supported

    Hi. I have created a simple Entity Bean called User with just 2 fields and no business methods. I am using Personal Oracle8 database and sun's JdbcOdbcDriver. The connection pool is configured properly.
    When I try to deploy this bean, I get an error saying "Null keys not supported". I think it is a problem related to the driver. But is there any way to fix it without changing the driver.
