Assign one source field to multiple target fields in FileContentConversio

Hi All,
I have a file to proxy scenario. I am using file content conversion to read the text file. My question is can I assign one set of data from the text file to multiple fields in Source Data Type using file content conversion?

these kind of requirements are not possible via the FCC. Handle such things via the mapping after you read the file in the normal FCC way

Split source message into multiple target messages

Hi Experts,
I have a scenario where a source message needs to be split up into multiple messages for the corresponding target systems.
One source system and three target systems.
Source system is a .Net application
Target systems - SAP R/3, Two webservices on different application systems
Can i implement the scenario above using BPM in the following manner?
Source->WS Adapter->PI-->RFC Adapter->SAP R/3
Source->WS Adapter->PI-->WS Adapter->Target 2
Source->WS Adapter->PI-->WS Adapter->Target 3
I could have a webservice at the source which would be called by the .Net Application
Webservice request would be passed to an integration process which would split the message for the three target systems specified.
Correct me if am wrong.
Also please get back to me if you need more inputs

You can implement the same with out using the BPM itself...
you can use either of the below options
1. if target messages are optional like based on certain conditions if you need to route the message to the particular targets
then you can use multimappings for the same which generates the mappings based on the condition for the particular target.
2. if each incoming message needs to be routed to the three receivers each time then configure the three receivers at the receiver determinations one for each target...
3. if you are using the same business system for all the three receivers then create the three interface mappings and configure the same at the interface determination level so that for each message three target messages will be generated and send to target...

Mapping Multiple Source fields to Single Target Fields with differnt Values

Hello Friends,
I am having a senario where I have to mapped multiple fileds from source str. to same Idoc Fields with ( differnt default values )
E.g Source Str.
- ShopNO
- OrderTyp
Has to mapped to Idoc Str E1EDK14-Orgid.
E.g Mapping:
So when ShopNo will mapped to E1EDK14-Orgid the default value should be "MOP" & E1EDK14-Qualf should be 019
and when OrderType will be mapped to E1EDK14-Orgid the default value should be "STD" & E1EDK14-Qualf should be 012
So I tried of using node "UseOneAsMany".....but there I cant define the vaule of field orgid, and seconly how to specify the values of field Qualf?
Do i need to write my own specify function ? or I can sovle this issue using standard avaiable functions ?

I am facing following problem... when I try to duplicate the segment and do mapping....... and then when I save, I got following error msg:
The source or target structure has been changed or could not be found in the Integration Repository. The mapping definition contains elements or attributes that do not exist in the changed structure. The relevant entries will be deleted
Target structure has no such path: /ZARVO_ORD/IDOC/E1EDK05[1]/KSCHL. Skipping mapping
Target structure has no such path: /ZARVO_ORD/IDOC/E1EDK05[1]/KRATE. Skipping mapping
Any suggestion ?
in other words, when I do duplicate it creates me the segment, but when I save it, it gets disappered .........

I need to create MT_EMPLOYEE multiple times depend upon occurences of E1PLOG1.

One report, One Source System with multiple Company Codes -- Authorization

Hello Guys
We have 2 DEV source systems for our BI implementation right now. one for US (CCode - 406) an one UK(CCode - 301).
We have already completed the implementation for UK with 38 reports.
we are right now moving the US implementation.
when we move to QAS we are going to have one Source system with both US and UK data.
so when we move to QAS, the US clients wants to view the reports developed in UK implementation with their own data.
How can we do that. since some reports doesn't have company code to restrict the data to respective users.

This report can be access from sap guid Marketing->Tools->exter tools.

Multiple source directories to multiple target directories

Hi All,
I have a file to file scenario like this.....
source:
\folder1\source1.xml
\folder2\source2.xml
\folder3\source3.xml
target:
\test1\source1.xml
\test2\source2.xml
\test3\source3.xml
The files from diffarent folders should be copied corresponding target directories with same file name.
for example,
source1.xml from the source directory folder1 should be copied to target directory test1 with the file name source1.xml.
here the target path depends on source directory.
so we need to know the source path to decide the target path.
please help me to solve this..

If you have lots of similar scenarios in your project you can opt for a Managed file transfer , i think using tools like RMFT you can manage the direct file transfer scenarios well and also reduce the pain of XI server.

As its obvious from the comments ...I assume that you have 1 source FTP with different folders to pick files from and files are getting transfered to single FTP but different folders.

One source system feeding multiple BW systems?

Is it possible to have the same source R/3 system feed multiple BW systems? It doesn't seem likely to me. I would think delta's would get confused. However I might be missing something.

Steve, of course it is possible to connect multiple BW systems to your R/3 system. You need to create a separate RFC connection for each BW system in R/3 (tcode SM59). The delta queues are set up per RFC connection (as you can see in RSA7). When you perform the initialization infopackage in each BW system, a corresponding delta queue will be setup in R/3.

Message mapping---1 source structure and n target structures

I would like to know how many message mappings we need if we are mapping one source structure to 3 different target structures of a single receiver. I am assuming its just one message mapping.
Depending on the above answer how many interface mappings do we need.

you need multi-mapping that maps one source structure to multiple target structures. Just search multi mapping in SDN and you will find many good posts.
Basically, in MM editor, go to signature tab and in the target messages add additional message types. Simple. --> Only one MM and one IM

To get familiarized with logic accounts I would suggest you start with Simple Logic Account Group.
You will see how your accounts will be generated in the import.
Then move to complex logic account where you can build the logic you need to generate multiple accounts.
Once logic accounts are generated during the import they can be used in the mappings as other accounts.
If you have issues, include screenshots of your configuration.

6 IF-THEN and OR conditions for one target field mapping

Hi Mapping experts,
I have a validation condition involving 2 source fields and 1 target field only, however the number of conditions is 6 (OR)
Source Fields:
TYPE
PONUM
Target Field:
BELNR
If TYPE = 1st value then BELNR = PONUM substring (0, 8) 0=start position, 8=character count
OR
If TYPE = 2nd value then BELNR = PONUM substring (2, 8)
OR
if TYPE = 3rd value then BELNR = PONUM substring (4, 8) .......... up to the 6th Validation Condition.
When I do this using graphical mapping only (multiple IF-THEN and OR's) the validation is successful only on the 1st IF-THEN statement, then it passes the substringed value to the 1st OR function..... When I "Display Queue" the 1st OR function the substringed value is taken as null (or:in1 <null>) Is this because OR function is expecting Input as "True or False" value only and not a string value?
For my requirement above, can I achieve this using graphical mapping only? or do I have to use UDF for this?
If it's better to use UDF for this, would anyone give me a jumpstart on the code? (I have no experience yet in UDFs)
