Assign Order type to Plant

Hi All,
Can you please help me understand if there is some config setting to assign Oprder type to Plant??
If yes where in SPRO can i find this?

Actually i want to assign Order type PS01 to Plant 123 for some SAP PS requirement, using transaction OPUV.
But when i try adding this conbimation of Plant (123) and Order type (PS01) i get an error message "An entry already exist with the same key".
I think this is because this PS Order type is assigned to this Plant 123 in some other module's SAP Node, which i am not able to find.

Yes you need to maintain those settings, as the plant maintenance orders are also considered as cost objects and in order for you to post any cost, you need to have a cost object. Unless you maintain these settings, the cost you posted cannot be settled to a cost center.

I assume you are trying to attach materials to network activity which is assigned to WBS.
Your error is because of missing configuration in below mentioned node:
In SPRO maintain the 'Define Checking Control' under Project Systems->Material->Availability Check (T code OPJK)
For plant AT01 and Order Type Z031 maintain parameters which are suitable to you. Before this you need to check the node OPJJ.

Assign ext material proc profile to order type and plant

I want to make purchasing group and purch organisation fields non editable for external material procurement.how can i do it.

Hi Mahesh ,
I am not able to use it properly.
I entered the tcode selected the field Purch Org
clicked on button influencing
Two fields are displayed : item category and order type
Selected Order type and then clicked influencing .
Entered order type in Contents field and pressed enter
But all the fields are in input form only.
But when i go to order type there the Purchasing org field for material proc. is non editable
but for the service proc its editable.
I want to make it editable for material proc also.

Assign document type to plant?

Document types are assign to sales areas but i need to assign one specific document type to only a few plants of this sales area. ¿How could i do this?

Thanks for your answers. Pramod what i want is to assign a document type to just a few plants that belong to the same sales org. (in this sales org. there is other plants to which i don't want to assign my document type). The idea is that when i create a sales order with this Order type only a few plants are available.
Roberto i beleive that the listing/exclusion funtions is just for materials.
Sudarshan i already talked to my abap'er and if there is no other option through customizing will do that.

In AFIH i can only get the MAT for an order number

Unfortunately, this is not what SAP was designed. The reason was that plant location is defined at item level while the PR number range is defined at the header level. How would you like your PR document to be numbered in case PR is created for both plant 1000 and 1100?

Assigning Order type to Sales Organization

Hi Guys,
I have created Sales Documents. But while assigning sales area to sales document type, I am getting the following error:
"Check the existing conversion for distribution channel and division" and won't let me save the change of ref Sorg.

Hi ,
Before assigning the sales order to sales area set up the below 2 settings.
1) SPro_S&D-sales-sales documents-sales document header- assign common distribution channel
2)SPro_S&D-sales-sales documents-sales document header- assign common divisions
assign the same distibution channel and division as pointing to reference
This has to be done once the sales area is setup properly

when I use T-code:iw31 create a service order,It show the following error message:
Service/maintenance order type SM03 not completely maintained in plant 1000
Message no. IW216
Diagnosis
For the selected order type and plant, no check control is maintained in Plant Maintenance/Service in 'Availability Check for Materials, PRTs and Capacities'.
Procedure
A check control must be maintained for this combination of order type and plant.

Go to SPRO --> Plant Maintenance & CS --> Maintenance and Service Processing --> Maintenance and Service Orders --> Assign order types to maintenance plants.
Maintain the order type SM03 against the plant.
Go to SPRO --> Plant Maintenance & CS --> Maintenance and Service Processing --> Maintenance and Service Orders --> Completion confirmations --> Define the parameters for completion confirmations.
These both should be done, try to raise the SM03 order now.

Maintain the order type ZMSO against the plant.
Go to SPRO --> Plant Maintenance & CS --> Maintenance and Service Processing --> Maintenance and Service Orders --> Completion confirmations --> Define the parameters for completion confirmations.

Am trying to configure Service Management where there is a scenario in which , when the user creates a Sales order for a installation item say TV or Fridge, automatically Service order has to be generated.
I have checked all the item Category Settings but am getting an error

Hi,
We assign Material type to Valuation area which is either Company code or Plant.
This will be assigned in Quantity & Value updation for that Particular Material type.
Path is
SPRO-Logistics genMaterial masterBasic settings-Material types--Define attributes for Material types.
Here select the Material type and then select the quantity & Value updating.
You will find all the valuation area there select your valuation area(Plant) and select the check box which means the quantity & Value will be updated with respect to this material type whenever you do any goods movement or any changes to the material which is created based on that material type

Stoping Sales Order types from specific plant

Dear Friends,
My client want to stop creation of specific sales order types from a specific plant. Means if that specific plant entered in sales order then system should not process that sales order further.
Note : Material transference must not be affected while implementing above requirement.
Kindly suggest the solution in this matter.

The best way would be to prevent this through your organizational design (Enterprise Structure)
You can limit which plants can be used for each combination of sales org/distribution channel & you can define which order types can be used for a given sales area.
You can use exclusion procedure and records to stop the combination of orders type and plant. This is not a use fiendly solution as the user doesn't receive a very useful error message.
You can use the user exit as mentioned before.

Document Type and Plant

Hi,
How to assign Document type to Plant. When I checked with our SD consultant he told Document type is independently configured and it's assigned to sales organization and not plant. Just want to check whether any report/view available to see the list of Sales document type assigned to a particular plant/sales organization.

we cant assign sales document type to plant. we assign sales document type to sales orgn. just bcoz of simple reason that we create sales order with the data of sales area , sales office ,sales grp and not plant. bcoz we assign plant to material master data ,as we need sales area for the sales doc type , for material also we need plant. bcoz material is stored at plant and storage location level.for that purpose only we create a material with plant,storage location , sales orgn, dist channel.
