Assign Photo to Contact Bugs!

It seems that with each upgrade the feature that allows you to assign a photo to a contact keeps changing the way it works.
When I select a photo and use the cropping tools, the results are not even close to what you see on screen with the crop and zoom functions.
And as I said every upgrade seem to change how this works.
If I use the square box as an indicator of what I will get after it's assigned to a contact, I should get that, not some other parts of the photo.
If it's not meant to do this, please explain it to the users!

I see the same also in the new WebOS 2.1. If you use a photo taken with the Palm it does not work, but if you use an imported photo it do work!

Photos and contacts will not sync from iCloud to iPhone

Hi Everyone
I have an iPhone 4 with the latest iOS (5.1.1), and have had to restore my phone due to sluggish response from the device, however I have had problems when setting up my phone again.
When the phone was restored and I wanted to restore a backup, it said the latest backup was from 10/12/2011 (I'm assuming this was the last time I backed up to iTunes). The issue I have is all my photos and contacts are on iCloud (last updated 25/05/2012, it clearly says this on my device under iCloud section). I have looked about to try and find a way to get this information back onto my iPhone but have not had any luck.
Can someone please help me find out how to get my photos and contacts from iCloud back onto my iPhone, having no contacts is a real pain! If anyone can help it would be really appreiciated!
MESSAGE TO APPLE: Your support is a complete joke, why should I have to pay for your assistance on clear design flaws with iCloud and its ability to sync with iOS enabled devices. Also you should really consider allowing people to download their photos / contacts via iCloud.com

me again everyone, I've managed to find my contacts on my iPhone. When I look under the contacts app it just says "no contacts", but if I look at the contacts tab via Phone they all appear, weird bug.

Apple, thank you for the 10.8.3 update, but please bring back the ability for us to print Headshot photos from Contacts (See "Attitributes" when printing). I need the ability to create Photo Directories. I am sure others used this feature as well. It worked great BEFORE Mountain Lion. Even though "Photo" is check-marked in "Attributes," it still will not show the headshot photo. Again, I used this feature at work in order to create Photo Directories. I am a choral conductor and my choirs have been bugging me for an updated Photo Directory. Please bring back this feature.

Apple engineers do not read these threads for enhancement requests nor bug reports. This is a place for people to ask questions and other users to answer them.
I recommend submitting your suggestion to Apple themselves via http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html. They read every report your send.

I upgrade to Iphone software version 7.0.4.All of my photos and contacts are now missing.

So, I guess my iPhone upgraded without me being aware. But nevertheless I am now running iOS 7.0.4.
I've noticed the last few days that I'm encountering sporadic contact disappearance. I'll get a text, the notification shows their name, maybe a few minutes later i'll go to read the full message and now no name, just a number. I'll look and ALL my contacts are gone. the conversation screen has nothing but numbers and the favorites under phone are just numbers. Search can still work by name though so the phone "knows" that joe is 555-5555, but is not showing the connection.
TEMPORARY WORKING FIX:
Turning off contacts in my icloud settings and choosing to delete the contacts on my phone, then re-enabling contacts will pull them all back down for me. This of course takes about 5-10 minutes for everything to sync back to the phone.
I've tried restarting the phone.
I've tried resetting the phone.
I don't feel like wasting my time with a backup unless I can downgrade to something before 7.0.4 as it is obvioiusly buggy.
I am NOT going to set up as a new phone until this becomes a much bigger problem.
I hope this offers insight to others encountering this bug. My mother has had this happen on her phone as well. Please comment at least if you experience this. the more people that have it, the less chance apple can play it off as an isolated event on my phone.

OK, I understand. Try this ... it's much safer. It will simply restore your backup, but not do anything to your iOS:
While your iPhone is plugged in to iTunes, right click on the iPhone icon on the left side of the iTunes display.
Choose "Restore from backup ..." from the pop-up menu that appears.
Again, what this will do is place that backup back on your iPhone without changing iOS. So you should be very confident in the backup contents before doing this.

Lenevo K900: Problem with display of photos of contacts

I bought a new K900. Initially it showed the photos in my contacts (after syncing with gmail, what'sapp etc). But, a friend of mine by mistake did some setting change, and it is no more displayed. I've tried to look at all possible manueverings with the settings options in 'Contacts' but I am not able to display the photos of contacts.
Request you all to please share if there is any solution to this problem.

Your question topic says you have all your photos backed up in iTunes. If so they are on your computer. When you get your new phone you can sync those photos from your computer to your phone.

Resetting the settings will reset things like the wallpaper to the default. It wont remove the apps or music.
As the previous poster said, the apps and music will be tied to the previous owners Apple ID, you'll need the password to update the apps and remain authorized to play the music.
I would suggest taking your stuff off (the camera pictures) then erasing all content and settings so the iPad is like new. For privacy reasons alone I would erase the device. I realise you want to keep the music, but since you haven't paid for it (it was purchased under someone elses ID) then it isn't yours to keep, you'll need to write down the tracks and purchase them under your ID.

I believe I had leopard and I was having issues getting errors of system not being supported. I contacted Apple and was advised I needed to upgrade to snow leopard. My laptop is from 2009 and I haven't done anything to it till now. The apple rep also stated I should do a fresh install when putting snow leopard on so my laptop would run faster. Apple rep told me to get a external hard drive to put my info on it so the fresh install would reset everything to like it was brand new. I had someone help me with getting everything on the EHD.. doing the right format and such and then once that was done I put in the CD for snow leopard and hit install. Which brings me to now, with everything but my pictures. I have the EHD plugged in... now what? What do I do? I have looked in the EHD in iphoto and it was all standard images *not my pictures but images of a check mark or an arrow again not actual pictures. I don't see a folder pictures and i looked for images and found nothing. I have Applications, Included Free Designs, Library, System, User Guides and Information and Users, those are my options and non of those have a "pictures"

I feel as though I am forced into repairing the iphone before I can backup the information (photos, videos, contacts). If the apple ID on the device is the same as the one on my iMac I do not understand why I have to unlock the iphone by typing in the 4 digit passcode. This is a little ******** as having the screen break seems to be the usual prpblem with the iphone, I want to be able to backup my files when I feel the obvious need to do so (eg. when it breaks)! I also believe I shouldn't have to use other apps for backing it up (which I obviously have to pay for).. I am rather angry with this issue.

Okay folkes, you were right and I was wrong.. I admit it. But I was pretty mad though when I tryed to backup the last few contacts I needed for work and couldn't do so. Worst things are when something gets broken (by me or whatever) when there is an emergency. I needed the contacts off of that phone real fast and couldn't do it, thats what got me real mad. And btw I am a Russian living in Moscow and instead of having an official Apple store we have shopes called ReStore who resell apple devices with ridiculous prices, same thing with the repairs. It is cheaper to sometimes buy a new iphone then repair an old one.. So there.. but I repaired it and now happy again with my apple device.. Also I know the itunes and icloud are free and I do back it up, this time however I couldn't use them and had to try the iphone extractor app, which is not free. There.. You don't import photos from the iPhone to your computer using iTunes.
See this -> iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
Note this only applies to photos taken with the iPhone. Any photos you previously added to your iPhone using iTunes should be copied from old computer to new computer.

Can I set "use facebook photo" for contacts by default?

When I edit a contact's photo, I can choose "use facebook photo" from the available options if there is a facebook profile linked to the contact. Is there a way to do this across ALL contacts, without having to edit each of my 300 contacts individually?
The issue I'm having is that old facebook photos from contacts added in iOS 5 are not updating anymore because the old photo stays as the contact's primary photo from the last time it was synced prior to facebook integration.
