Assign Product category to number range group

Hi,
I have defined an product Category in CRM .. COMM_hierarchy.
when i open the tcode COMCMATERIALId..
i am not getting the new product category in the non-assigned elements to assign the category to the number range..

How to transport number range group Configuration in Material Master

Hi,
I have this query regarding how to transport number range group in material master from one server to another.
Problem: There was no number range assignment done for a particular material type. So, i assigned the particular mat. type to a group which had some number range intervals with the help of T-Code MMNR.
But when i want to transport this config. to other sever, it is only transporting the interval but not the assignment done to that group. In the menu bar only Interval transport option is there.
Can anybody help me with this I hope the query is clear.

I have two clients 000,800
my problem is
Capital work in progress number ranges for company attachment groups one client i.e 000 showing. but another client 800 not showing the same groups for assignment of company code.
why like this?
profit center accounting number ranges groups one client showing but another client not showing same group. T.Code: GB02.
why like that showing difference groups for each client. where i can
please anybody resolve the problem. last four days i am facing the same problem.

How to assign numbers in external number range?

Dear experts,
Since NUMBER_GET_NEXT can only be used to assign numbers in internal number range, how to assign numbers in external number range?
So far, I only know the NUMBER_CHECK function module to deal with external number ranges and it only check a number whether it lies in any external number range or not, but it doesn't update any number range status. What I need is a function module like NUMBER_GET_NEXT that supports external number range.

With external number range, there is no updating of the number range objectt. The only thing you need to know is whether the number you wish to assign is allowed according to the external number range. And also check if there isn't already an object/document with the same number in the database.

Delete a number range Group in internal order

Dear experts!
Now, I'm getting some issue about maintain number range group in internal order.
So I defined a number range group, after that I want to delete the number range group. How do I have to do?

Maintain Number range group for Internal order

Hello,
I have created Internal order type, now, i would like to create/maintain the number range group for this already created order type.
When i goto Maint Number ranges for orders->click on Group->Maint and again click on group insert... when i mention here the group name and number range for that group and say save the system in accepting but when view all the groups, i do not find this new group created by me.
How do i view the newly created group, is there any other steps to be followed? please advice.

It's a little late for this post but it is still important to record.
When you try to create a group in KONK transaction, the system doesn't show the new group.
This is because there are a inconsistences in the old groups.
You must execute RSSNR0T1 program to solve the problem.

When I am maintaining number ranges in the production server in kank.
Some of the groups already exist there when I went to maintain number range by selecting one group
Interveal>maintain
I am getting following error.
The number range number 01 does not exist
Message no. NR019
When I am trying to create new group by giving new name to the group with interval that group is not coming I mean I cant able to see it within the group.
I have run the program Run RKTKA04C report (via SE38 transaction).
i can see business like COIN CO Through-postings from FI, FIPA Payment scheduling, which are not assigned down side no problem for this.
I facing the problem in creating new groups.
If any body had faced same situation please help me.

Please review the note [11294,|https://css.wdf.sap.corp/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=0000011294] which has the report RSSNR0T1 included. This report will tell you what inconsistencies there are in the number ranges etc. Please be careful before updating the report by saving. If there are some corrections that you would not like to update you just need to save. Please try this in the test System first just in case.
Please also review the notes 52390,165792 which gives details of the best method of transporing number ranges. I hope it is of help in the future.

I am doing rollout in CRM 2007 and for the other branches i have created and maped the nuber range for grouping also. But when tested in WEB GUI , BP is taking the assigned number range. How to assing this number range to the purticular Sales org.

Order number range - Group

Hi,
Client requirement is to maintain different number ranges for each order type.
Whenever I try to create a Group(Menu-Group-Insert). Then Text. Then number range.
I created new group, text,assigned number range but the new group is not coming.
(system is not throwing any warning/error message regarding overlapping)
Kindly share your views where i'm going wrong.

Whenever we add new group it comes at the bottom ie before Not assigned.
But it's not coming(the new group).
It's coming in Sandbox client but not in Testing client.

External number range for products

Hi forum,
I try to upload product in the transaction COMMPR01 with the function: CRMXIF_PRODUCT_MATERIAL_SAVE.
Everything is OK when the product id is not a number, but my client need to give to products a number.
I assign to my category a number range extern, but it doesnt work.
The error when i debug is the next:
A |COM_PRODUCT_SETTINGS|016 |7 : Product ID 7 has an invalid format
Any suggestion or idea about this problem¿?

Hi Mon,
This might be because of the numeric product ID there. if you see the product Id you are passing is 7, which is a number. But, you convert the same and store to database it will be stored with 0 prefixed. For eg. some thing like 0000000007. Number of 0's depends on the lenght of the field.
To avoid this probably you can suffix the product id (which is a numeral here) with 0's and use them. Probably you can use PACK/UNPACK (eith of these two ABABP statements) to get the required product ID.
This should work. please try.

Co82 let us say order number range maintenance
let us say you have created a new order type and you want to assign a new number range
In CO82..
Menu path Group -->maintain
In maintain number range group screen,
Group --> insert
Give text and from number and to number
say text = new order
range - 100000000000 to 199999999999 (tick ext check box if the range is external number range-manual input)
click on +
You can see your group at the end of list
In Not assigned group your new order type will be present
Place the curser on that order type and fallow the menu path as below
Edit -->select element
Select NEW order number range group check box
edit --> assign element group.
Now the number range is assigned to the new order. Save it, You will get a pop up, just ignore it.

Product category + Purchasing group mapping

Hello all,
I am looking for a way of finding how each product category is mapped to different purchasing groups. I have the GL acct to Prod category mapping already, but nothing which would give me the purchasing group.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Note: I currently cannot run FMs in the PROD system, but if thats the way, then so be it.

Product category responsibility & Organizationl responsibility..
Here we can assign product categories to the pur.group.

Number range error for some materials when converting into Production order

Hi,
Please I need some help with my error.
When trying to convert planned orders into production orders, I receive an error message saying Internal assignment not defined for number range XX.
The strange part is that is only happening for two materials! Material type is the same one we always use.
The planned orders have also the same type.
Any idea?

I think for these 2 materials system is selecting the order type for which external number range is marked and ingternal number range is switched off.
Can you go to CO01 and create a production order for these materials directly w/o assigning order type on intial screen. check which order type is detrmined by system and check its number range in co86.
