Assign Search procedure for batch determination for delivery

Hi all,
i have a problem with automatic batch determiantion during delivery creation.
i have created a transfer order (purchasing order type UB from one plant to
another).
i have created delivery. Batch determination is impossible because the sistem
didn't find search procedure.
But if i create a sales order and subsequent delivery the batch determination is
carried out correctly.
in customizing i found the transaction in which we have to assign for a
particular sales organization and sales document a search procedure ("Allocate
SD Search procedure/ activate check")and i created the correct items for my
sales document.
My question is: where can i assign a search procedure to a delivery without
sales order reference?
In customizing i have activated "Automatic batch determination for my Delivery
item category" but the sistem didn't find search procedure.
What's wrong?

Hi Veronica,
For deliveries without reference to a sales order you still need to define a default order type for the delivery type - this will provide the control criteria that is normally copied from the sales document header into the delivery document.
In our system our replenishment delivery type is the standard NL and the Default ord. ty. is set to DL, which I think is the standard SAP setting.
Give this a try.

Hi,
Please let me know how to meet the below requirement.
During delivery creation for sales order automattically through the program RVV50R10C, The system should do the batch determination automatically for the delivered qty and the picked quantity should be filled auotomatically same as the delivered qty.
I have maintained condition record for batch determination for the combination of Shipping point, Sales document type and Material type and also automatic batch determination for delivery item categories is activated in customization ( the check box for delivery item category is ticked).
With the above setting manual batch determination is working in delivery. but not the automatic batch determination and also the picked qty is not filled.

1. The respective item cat. has been checked in Automatic Batch Determination for Delivery Item cat. u2013 Transaction V/CL - maintained
2. Configured it correctly in transaction V/C5 where you configured the search procedure for batches in the sales docs with respect to the sales area and sales doc type which you are using -maintained
3. Check if shelf life expiration date needed. If yes check in transaction CL03 with the class type 023 - Class maintained in the material master
4. Make sure the batch management check box has been ticked for the materials which you want automatic batch determination to be done in MM03 u2013 Sales: General/Plant tab, Purchasing and warehouse management tab. - The batch management indicator is set
5. Open your delivery in VL03n u2013 check the batch determination display. Select the strategy analysis and check. it gives you information whether the condition types were successfully taken into consideration. If not check in VCH3 - Condition record has been specified.
Manual batch determination works ( select the line item in delivery > Batch split> Batch determination )but not the automatic batch determination.

While doing delivery for STO, system is giving a message "Batch determination is not possible because there is no search procedure"
But Batch determination is happening fine for all movements except STO Delivery.
is there any other settings required for STO Delivery (for inter and intra company codes) for batch determination.

Automatic Batch determination at Delivery

Hi,
We have multiple batches for a material. Is it possible to determine Automatic batch determination by FIFO at the time of delivery.
e.g a material A has stock 50 Pcs.
                             10 Pcs- Batch A
                              20 Pcs -Batch B
                               20 Pcs - Batch C
Suppose i have sales order for 30 Pcs. Then at time of delivery can system automatically allot batch A and B on FIFO basis. I dont have to select batch for 1o pc

Hello,
Ideally FIFO method is used for batch managed material along with material which have shelf life expiry date check. If you have setup FIFO method for batch determination for stock removal for a combination of your warehouse and storage type, then system will those batch which are oldest. It will check the Goods reciept date for your batch in the respective storage bin and will pick those batches.
Now as in your case, 10 Pcs- Batch A , 20 Pcs -Batch B , 20 Pcs - Batch C, system is bound to take those batch which are oldest , with respect to there goods reciept date.

I am not able to determine the batch Replishment delivery. Getting the error:
"Batch determination is not possible because there is no search procedure".
How do we set the search procedure, as the search procedure is generally set fot the sales order and not the delivery...

You are right for batch determination,you need to create a search procdeure may be std SD0001 with strategy types SD01,SD02,SD03 that has access sequence with the combination of fields customer /material and the plant.and this procedure may be assign to the sales area with the sort rule may be on the basis of last GRN date.Any first materail move in would be the fisrt one to go out.
However this is only restricted for sales order but for delivery batch determination need to be set in item category.
If you want the automatic batch detrmination to be done at the time of delivery.
Try this out and let me know..

Automatic Batch determination for Replenishment delivery

Whenever I create replenishment delivery, batch should be determined automatically. For that I activated automatic batch determination for SD documents (Delivery Item Category NLN)...
Still I couldn't solve my problem...

You need to carry out configuration for seach procedure under SPRO-> Log Gen -> Batch management -> Batch search procedure definition -> Define Sales and Distribution Search Procedure
The help text from that node is as follow:
Define Sales and Distribution Search Procedure
     In this step, you define search procedures for batch determination in Sales and Distribution.
     Each search procedure comprises all strategy types that can be used for a particular combination of sales area and sales document type.
     Requirements
     To be able to define search procedures, you must have defined the necessary strategy types.
     Standard settings
     The standard SAP R/3 System contains search procedure SD0001.
     Activities
     To create a search procedure, proceed as follows:
     1. Select New entries, and enter a six digit key beginning with "Z" as well as a name for the search procedure.
     2. Select Control and then New entries, and enter the strategy types in the desired sequence.

Batch determination for raw materials in process order

I have defined a sort rule, batch search strategy and assiigned this strategy to process order type.classification for batch is also defined with charecterstic mentioned in sort rule.But when i am doing BD for raw materials in Process order , it is barnching into some other screen saying, no selection criteria and no strategy info defined. what are the necessary settings to make BD possible for all the materials having batch management.

Batch determination for components in Production order

Dear All,
I have components which are batch determined. and backflush active.
There is no search procedure active, everything else is std.
While doing confirmation in Co11n. i could not get all the Batches copied in Goods movement Tab. Though i have enough batches and stock available. with proper shelf life dates.
What can be the issue??

1.Please check in MRP 2 view Batch entry= 3 is maintained
2.Check Classification view with characteristic that use in CU70
3. Check whether you have assign Batch Search Procedure to this new order type in OPL8 i
4.Check whether Batch Search Strategy is maintain or not for this new order type and Plant using COB1.If not then complete this assign it.
5.Its not necessary that you shud always use GR date for batch determination.you can create any characteristic using CT04. and assign your own values.
1.Assign that characterisitc to class,
2.Maintain that class in material master, strategy type.
3.Assign the strategy type to Search procedure, then assign that search procedure to required mvt type.
4.Maintain the selection criteria for the strategy type in MBC1.
While doing GI system will ask for the characterstic value for the batch.You maintain required value, same as maintained in MBC1.So, when you do that mvt type put * in the batch. system will propose yoou the batches

Automatic batch determination for quality inspection stock

Hello, gurus.
Could you please, help me with the following problem: I have received on the certain storage location some quantity of material maintained in batches into quality inspection stock with 501 movement type. Now I would like to make reverse posting, but I do not want to use cancellation of the document, I need to use 502 movement type and determine batch from quality inspection stock with automatic batch determination in MIGO transaction. I assigned Batch search procedure to 502 movement type and created all necessary condition records. I use Checking Group for Availability Check CH and Checking Rule for Availability Check 03 where I include quality inspection stock. However no batch can be determined. But if I use 331 movement type, everything is OK, the batch is determined without any problems. If I manually put batch and valuation type for the material, the system shows no error.
Why it is not possible to do automatic batch determination for quality inspection stock then?

OK, let us talk abou it. I check it in my system, actually 502 can work, but I can't trigger BM determination by 501. Maybe BM determination onlys to select some existing batches for consumption. For 501 in my pratice I can select all the existing batches to be added or just add a new batch.

Batch Determination for Cash Sale

My scenario is in cash sales order type it is not doing automatic batch determination in delivery but in other order types it does and its working fine. Item cat BVN is activated already for auto batch determination but still it is not working. Can somebody show me guidance on how to go about this.

If u have maintained it , try to check the copying controls from delivery to sales doc type.In the item category try to maintain Item data routine as 202.
Path:Img->Log Execution->Shipping->Copying Control->Specify Copy Control for Deliveries
Select ur del doc type(BV) and sales doc type(CS)
Then the item Category (Eg:BBN)
Under the item tab try to maintain routine as 202.

Issues during Component Batch Determination for Process Orders

Hi,
I am encountering a strange issue during component batch determination of process order.
1. During creation of process order, when I execute batch determination, systems does determination based on strategies we have set and when I click on Copy it gives an error
"Log cannot be saved: Object/subobject not specified"
Message no. BL201
*Diagnosis
Log save cancelled because at least one log contains no object or subobject.
Object and subobject are needed to classify application logs because there are several log types. Only a few logs are managed in main memory at runtime, so this classification is not needed.
If the logs are to be saved in the database, object/subobject must be specified for later retrieval.
Procedure for System Administration
Object/sub object can be passed when a log is created (function module BAL_LOG_CREATE) and changed with BAL_LOG_CHANGE.
The possible values for object and sub object must be configured in transaction SLG0.*
If I save the order with CRTD status and come back again in change mode and do determination, It works fine.
Again when the order is in REL status and do the determination, It gives the same error.
This happens only for a specific plant, In other plants batch determination works in all scenarios.
I checked for all plant related Config for batch determination and coudn't find any discrepancies.
Please advise how to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance for your help

There Is no direct solution for your requirement just try this work around.
While defining the batch determination search strategy for process order in COB1, there is one column Quantity proposal where you can attach the Routines (This is written in ABAB code ) make use of this, define New Routines with ABAB help to fulfill your requirement. Try this if found useful award full points.

Problem in automatic batch determination for components in process order

Ours is a process order industry. Here we prepare food items.
We are entering manual batch for finished product. We want to perform automatic batch determination for one of the components raw material. For other packing material we do not want to maintain batches.
The batch procedure picked is me0001 for 261 movement type instead of C00001.
Because of that we need to enter batch manually.
Send us the procedure to automatic batch determination for components.

BDC FOR VL02N FOR Batch DETERMINATION --ERROR IN BACKGROUND

HI,
I am running a BDC in Background Mode for VL02N Transaction for Batch Determination. When i run this BDC in Foreground its working Fine, But when i use Background Mode its not working.
Error in Messtab : LIPS-POSNR(1).
Flow is like : Vl02n - enter delivery..then select a material in that delivery and click on batchdetermination.
So its giving me error in LIPS-POSNR(1).
Can u suggest something..

Batch determination for deliveries

Dear friends,
we have recently introduced batch determination for sto's. We are facing a poblem, we were suppose to get the batches only from one storage location, but system is taking batches from all storage locations where ever available according to search criteria. How can we restrict batches only from one storage location.

Hi,
If u want to restrict batches on storage location level, then
You have to create CONDITION TABLE in that select field catlog STRORAGE LOCATION,
Assign this created table in ACCESS SEQUENCE,
Then asign this access sequence in STRATEGY TYPE which u r using.
Maintain condition records for Batch search strategy with key combination STORAGE LOCATION.
Note : if when creating condition table field catlog is not available for storage location, then you can add in that with the help of ABAPer.
