Assign Shipping Point to Plant

Hello Everybody,
I Created a plant and shipping point in IMG config. However, when I tried to assign the shipping point to the plant via OVXC I couldn't find the plant. Did i miss something?

Hi,
You also need to assign the plant to the sales area & distribution channel. After making those settings, you will be able to assign a shipping point.

In SPRO activity we need to assign shipping points to plants in Enterprise Structure using OVXC Transaction.
For a company that has over 100 plants is there a possibility of doing this assignment through LSMW ?

Hi,
You can always use an LSMW or BDC to move forward.
But I would advise you to do the configurations manually.
Direct table entry is possible, but not advisable, but you still have option for creating the transport request for the table entry to move to Quality for testing and then to production.

Shipping point and plant assignment

When i am maintaining enterprize structure in sd in assignment of organizational unit if i want to assign shipping point to the plant ,its not detecting plant untill i set up sales line(plant+sales organization/distribution channel) .what is the relation between sales line set up with shipping point to plant assingment? please clarify...

Shipping point can ONLY be assigned to a delivering plant.
2. Plants can be "made" in to delivering plant by assigning Sales Org. , D channel to Plant.
Therefore after 2 you have the possibility to assign shipping point to the plant (which has been made a delivering plant)
PS - org unit plant is used in MM, PP and SD etc. but delivering plant is an important org unit for SD.
From a business process perspective - PP: Plant is a manufacturing unit, MM: Plant is a storage of material unit. But to deliver goods to customers, a delivering plant has to be created. Shipping point is the starting point (& the org unit that controls) of outbound deliveries. Thus shipping point is assigned to Delivering plant.
This is also logical from a business process perspective!

Yes if it is going to be in bulk, you can certainly assign the shipping point to plant through LSMW

Shipping in shipping point from plant and storage location is not possible

Dear Experts,
i am trying to configure STO with delivery scenario in my company
after creating PO (sto UB) and delivery through vl10b when i try to do picking in vl02n and when i enter storage location its giving error
"shipping in shipping pointxx from plant xxxxand storage location xxxx is not possible"
i ve checked all settings
1.plant and sh point assignment
2. ovl2 sh point determination
3.ovl3 picking location determination
4 all master data cust n mat for loading group and shipping cond
not able to find any solutions plz help

Check your entries in following options in SPRO path:
IMG - MM - Purchasing - Purchase Order - Set Up Stock Transport Order - Setup Stock Transfer b/w Storage Location - Setup Storage-Location-Specific Shipping Point Determination
Option 1: Define Rule for Determination of Shipping Point
Option 2: Assign Shipping Points According to Storage Location (this should be there, if in Option 1 Determin. Rule; Shipping Point is L: Storage-Location-Specific Shipping Point )

EDI: partner profile for shipping point or plant

I want to issue idocs for delivery notes based on shipping point or plant, not shipto party as is usual.
How can I go about this?
It looks like I need to create a new partner type. Or can I use logical systems?
If logical system is used, then how do I make the connection document->LS?
The external system uses the RCVPRN to determine which warehouse to handle the delivery for.
I am changing the RCVPRN in a user exit now, but this still requires creating/ changing all partner profiles for shipto parties.
Any ideas? previous experiences?

Step 2: Pick Location Determination by Maintaining Shipping Point PlantStorage Condition
Step 3; Maintain the Loading Group In Material Master
Step 4: Maintain the Shipping condition in the Customer Master
If u Maintain the Route Determination Please check the Shipping condition is Maintained

How to assign shipping point for STO

When creating PO, enter material master then press enter, client want to proposal shipping point automatically
for example, when create PO, enter material master, if the material master MRP2 view storage location is 1130, then proposal shipping point 7000 after press enter

And for your speciefict requirement activate shipping point determination on the basis of storage location
IMG >> Materials Mang. >> Purchasing >> Purchase order >> Set up stock transport order >> set up stock transport between storage location >> set up storage location dependend shipping point determination
Here u can carry 2 activities
In this define rule as Strorage location speciefic shiping point detemination for delivery type
and next step assign shipping point according to storage location

i guess this time your question is correct but answer is not. We can for sure assign shipping conditions to sales document in the document type definition at VOV8 transaction. In the shipping section we have a field to input the shipping condition. This is very used incase of cash sales.

Org structure quiries - about sales org to plant assignment &shipping point

My client is asking why the assignment of single sales organization with respect to all plants, why not separate sales organization for each plant?. But here we configured the single sales organization since a single sales department is there. How to convince the same to them effectively?
What is the significance of shipping point (to give an explanation to client) - my client is asking is shipping point is same as plant?

if you have more sales organisations,One distribution channel and three divisions. the no of sales ares willl be more
we have three sales organisations,One distribution channel and three divisions.

If you have more sales organizations then the master data will be more. so keeping sales organization to minimum will help to maintain master data easily
Possible reasons for having more than one sales organization for each company code:
· Different legal responsibilities, for example product liability
· Unusual stipulations (for example legal), which make it necessary to distribute different product lines separately u2013 for example, products for medicine and veterinary medicine
· The desire to separate completely the sales activities of different enterprise areas
Separate distribution responsibilities, each with their own Marketing and Pricing policy u2013 for example, one for the domestic market and one for export
Overlapping customer and product master records or the desire to maintain customer and product master data in a specific, unusual way
· Overlapping responsibilities for order entry, or for sales and distribution processing (sales authorizations)

Shipping point and plant

Hi experts,
In VL01N, the system pops up the message below when entering storage location, picked qty & batch. Pls help to solve. Thx.
"Shipping from shipping point 2000 and plant 1001 is not possible. Message no. VL027".
Acutally, shipping point 2000 has been assigned to plant 1001 in OVXC. In shipping point determination, shipping condition 20 - loading group 1000 - plant 1001 - proposed shipping point 2000 has been maintained. Shipping condition & shipping point between the sales order & delivery match.

Please make sure that your plant 1001 and shipping point 2000 is assigned properly
Then your OVL2 shipping point determination settings
As you are getting this error while entering the storage location
That means your OVL3 is not maintained properly
OVL3 is storage location determination settings
It is determined thro
1.Shipping point
2.Delivering plant
3.Storage conditions from MMR (optional)
In t code OVL3 maintain for Shipping point 2001 and Delivering plant 1000 and storage conditions of material maintained in MMR (plant data/storage location data 1 ) or you can keep this as blank also
For this combination maintain your storage location the key which you are manually entering in VL01N

How to Avoid the Tax and Shipping point and plant redetermination

Dear experts
my business requirement is to change the Ship- to address while creating the sales order . Due to this my taxes and shipping/plant data get re determined . The order type i am using triggers to planned order and availability check .
When i change the address of ship to the proposed date gets changed and effects the delivery planning ,
Please suggest a way if i chnage the address of SH during sales order creation or change ( VA02) . my shipping data should not determined and the availability check wont carry out

if you change the ship-to-adress, in my oppinion it is right, that there is a new planning.
if you wont have this planning, you should set the dates fixed in the availability check. sign date and quantity fixed.

Can anyone tell me the T Code to assign Shipping point to plant.
Though. I have defined plant in Enterprise Structure, when i go the assignments and try to do this assignment there is only the standard plant appering in the structure and hence am not able to assign the Shipping point for my plant.Am working on ECC 5.0
