Assign User ids to Recipient Group

Hi All
Could any one please tell us how to assign users into a recipient group.
Recipient group can be found from SPRO IMG
Training and event management --> Day to day Activities --> Correspondance --> Notification Abbreviations
Regards
Pritam

Dear Pritam,
With the Definition of the recepient groups you can specify for which recipient group which function module should be linked / should be used.
In the function module it is decided whom the correppondece will be sent.
F.e.:
Recipient group Prebooked  -> RH_GET_ADDR_PREB (function module)
If you prebook a course with one of your Objects (Person, User, Candidate, Org. Unit, etc..) than the object automatically belongs to the Prebooked group.
For the "prebooked" group you can specify different notification types they call the function module.
I hope i could clearify the question.
Kind regards,
Zsolt

  • Shared Services 11.1.2 Unable to remove assigned user from a security group

    In Shared Services 11.1.2 - trying to remove a user from the assigned users list of a security group. Initially, I am able to remove the user and the assigned users total decreases by one - but when I relaunch the group properties - this user is still in there? The change does not hold. Any suggestions would be appreciated - thanks,
    Paul

    Hello Paul,
    Not sure if this is related to yours, but it might be worth having a look at the following articles on Oracle support --
    External users in EPM Shared Services (e.g. MSAD users) cannot be removed from Native groups if they have multiple IDs in the external user directory. [ID 1526569.1]
    Users from External User Directories Cannot be Removed from Native Groups [ID 1272309.1]

  • Assign user external dir to group using MaxL

    Hi
    I have my essbase security sync with Shared services.
    Now i want to assign user to groups using Maxl
    Groups exist as Essbase native Groups
    Users exist as corporate directory and are NOT native users
    Now when i try to execute the following statement i get error saying 'user does not exist'
    Alter user 'username@corporatedir' add to group 'nativegroup';
    Is it not possible to assign users from external directory to native groups using Maxl?

    Not specifed your version.
    For 9.3.1 refer to page 103 for details. http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/hyp_security_guide.pdf
    The file looks like
    #group_children
    id,user_id,user_provider
    myNativeGroup,User1,myProvider
    myNativeGroup,USer2,myProvider
    myNativeGroup,nativeUser3,Native Directory
    For better understanding, add one external user to a native group manually in shared services and then export using the utility.
    Then the exported file format can be used for your import.
    Hope it helps.

  • Assign user role to network group people

    Hi everyone,
    What user role should I assign to network people if they wan to be able to discovery(add) and manage their network devices by themselves. I have tried Advanced Operator and Operator two roles, but non of them came up with Discovery Wizard option. I really don't
    want to assign them to Operations Manager Administrators group because I'm pretty sure they will mess up SCOM within couple mins!!!!!

    Hi,
    We can create runas account for discovery with the network discovery wizard, the runas account type is community string only.
    Network devices that use SNMP v1 or v2 require a Run As account that specifies a community string, which acts like a password to provide read-only access to the device.
    Regards, Yan Li
    Hi Yan Li,
    After reading your post couple times, I'm confused now. I did have two run as account created for community string and snmpv3 authentication. When I ran Discovery Wizard for network devices, I can select either one of them to run without problem,
    and discover network devices. My account is under Operation Manager Administrators role, so I have full permissions to do anything I want.
    My question is that how to configure or create User Roles for network group people, so they can also run Discovery Wizard and manage their network devices without putting them into Operation Manager Administrators group. Ex: there is not Administration
    tab for them, they only see Network Monitoring folder under Monitoring. Because I don't want them to mess up those options under Administration.
    Is it just like the previous post said that only two options?  Thank you.
    1) grant them as a SCOM administrators right
    2) scom administrator help them to do network discovery

  • Issue in Shared Services with corp user IDs

    Hi,
    I am facing an issue with corp user IDs in Shared Services. The issue is that I am able to add corp user IDs to a group but I am not able to remove some of them from the group for some reason especially those corp user IDs that were added few weeks or months ago.
    What I noticed is if I add a corp user ID today and try to remove it today itself it is letting me do it but those corp IDs that I added to the group weeks before it is not letting me remove them. I tried to push the corp user ID from right hand side to the left hand side and then saved the changes. It shows the message that the group has been modified but when I go back again and check in the group I find the user there on the right side where it shows all user members. Not sure why this is happening.
    Any ideas on this? Please do share your inputs.
    Thank you.
    ~ Adella

    Hello Mehmet,
    Thank you so much for your response.
    Well, I think I tried at both the places yet I am facing the same issue. If I add any corp user now and immediately take it off in minutes it lets me do it. But if I try to take out a user who was added to the group weeks ago it is just not letting me do it. It does give the messages that the gourp has been modified but when I come back again and look at the group its there.
    Its weird and I am not sure whats going wrong. Is it some kind of a bug?

  • AP Payment User Responsbility's Data Group to be assigned for application as Payables or Payments?

    Hi,
    I am in version R12.1.3 . I have a requirement to create a user who must have access only to create payments in AP module.So when i try to define a responsibility for this payment user
    there is a data group to be assigned. In this data group block for application there are 2 options i.e Payables & Payments? What should I select & what is the difference of selection one over the other?
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    i did not see any difference .... I performed a test case, where i created a payment using the new responsibility i have created having data group application as Payments, the payment was successful ... Later i have modified the data group for this new responsibility from payments to payables, then the test payment i have made was also successful....
    Not sure about its impact, may be i am having responsibilities which has full access, hence i cannot see the difference in my environment ....

  • Please help with assigning user to a group in AD using dbms_ldap

    Dear gurus of Apex and LDAP!
    Please help me a bit.
    I managed to create any user in AD from Apex using dbms_ldap package and set many of his attributes. But I cannot set that my user belongs to specific group, let's say MY_GROUP. I guess the name of attribute for group is 'member' or 'memberOf', so I tried them both in the same way as I've done for other attributes:
    v_vals(1) := 'MY_GROUP';
    DBMS_LDAP.populate_mod_array(v_array, DBMS_LDAP.MOD_ADD, 'member', v_vals);
    I've got LDAP client/server error: CONSTRAINT violation. 000020B5: AtrErr: DSID-031516FC, #1: 0: 000020B5:
    DSID-031516FC, problem 1005 (CONSTRAINT_ATT_TYPE), DATA 0, Att 1f (MEMBER)
    v_vals(1) := 'MY_GROUP';
    DBMS_LDAP.populate_mod_array(v_array, DBMS_LDAP.MOD_ADD, 'memberOf', v_vals);
    I've got LDAP client/server error: DSA IS unwilling TO perform. 0000209A: SvcErr: DSID-031A0929, problem 5003 (WILL_NOT_PERFORM), DATA 0
    After that I've tried to extend group name to string, which is shown in LDAP browser for attribute 'memberOf' (when I've added it manualy):
    v_vals(1) := 'CN=MY_GROUP,OU=GROUPS,OU=Allianz,DC=allianz,DC=com';
    DBMS_LDAP.populate_mod_array(v_array, DBMS_LDAP.MOD_ADD, 'member', v_vals);
    I've got LDAP client/server error: OBJECT CLASS violation. 0000207D: UpdErr: DSID-03150913, problem 6002 (OBJ_CLASS_VIOLATION), DATA 0
    v_vals(1) := 'CN=MY_GROUP,OU=GROUPS,OU=Allianz,DC=allianz,DC=com';
    DBMS_LDAP.populate_mod_array(v_array, DBMS_LDAP.MOD_ADD, 'memberOf', v_vals);
    LDAP client/server error: DSA IS unwilling TO perform. 0000209A: SvcErr: DSID-031A0929, problem 5003 (WILL_NOT_PERFORM), DATA 0
    I've also tried some other variants (without 'CN=' and without 'OU=GROUPS,OU=Allianz'), but still no success.
    Search of this forum and even google didn't help either :(
    Please, help me to find the correct syntax for it or tell me if it's not possible.
    Thanx in advance,
    Vladimir

    Vladimir ,
    firstly the attributes member and memberOf are special attributes in AD having a set of predefined values. Hence an error will be thrown if you try to assign them values like 'MY_GROUP'. There are two basic solutions to this problem : Either you define an OU in your AD which will act as your 'MY_GROUP'. This is a quick fix solution and is not robust at all. The other solution is to add your own property in the tree , something like 'roleCode', you can then assign it any value you want.
    But the problem now is, AD does not allow addition of new attributes in the structure. You have to use ADAM in for this and you can specify a common linking mechanism between AD and ADAM now such as email address can act as the link between both the directories.
    Hope this helps

  • Assigning User to a Group.

  • Unable to see assign users or groups option under a groupin Shared services

    I have a bizzare issue related to Shared services.
    In Application 1 (on PROD env), after I select the group, right-click and go to properties, under "group members" and "user members" tabs, I do not see the options to assign access to any of the existings groups (we have about 50+ groups). I can only view the existing users/groups, even though I have been given admin/proviosioning rights, while the other admin can assign access to the same application.
    While for Application 2 (on DEV) I am able to see all these options and I am able to assign users and groups to any of the groups. I do not see them as a browser issue, as I have opened both these links on the same IE window, but on different tabs.
    Unfortunately, I can't test App1 on TEST/DEV, as we do not have its copy on here, it is all on PROD and App2 is only on DEV.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Paul

    I would of thought it was provision related, can you try setting up another user as a test with the correct provisioning such as provisioning manager of the different product areas and see if the new user works.
    If it does then it points an issue with your account or the way it has been provisioned.
    Cheers

    The poster already posted at the Acrobat Users Community, Interactive Forms that sums up a client order from catalog. The sample form posted to Acrobat.com was a revision of the sample form that came with Acrobat 4.0. There are some fairly advance scripts, templates, and document level functions involved with this form.

  • How to create groups and assign users thru program

    Hi,
    I am planning to create groups by program and assign users to them based on some condition.Once users are assigned to those groups we need to change the Language value for those users in User profile
    We are using Central User Administration.
    Please let me know the solution
    Thanks
    Bala Duvvuri

    probably you can use this code to create a group
    IGroupFactory groupFact = UMFactory.getGroupFactory();
    IGroup group = groupFact.newGroup(wdContext.currentContextElement().getGroup());
       group.commit();
    for this required com.sap.security.api.jar

  • Assign users to groups

    How do i assign user groups. Like in defining numbering series or query it has to be specified that which groupwill be assigned to that paticular series or query. Now my question is where do we define that group 1= set of users.

    Hi debraj bhattacharyya,
    To set user group, please try the following:
    1. Define Series:
    - Go to Administration -> System Initialization -> Document Numbering.
    - Double-click on the row number of the document type for which you want
      to define the numbering. The Serials window opens. Here you can assign
      number ranges to a group.
    - Up to ten different groups can be defined.
    - Only super users can create and maintain number ranges.
    - A user who is not defined as a super user can only change the
      definition of his or her own default number range, assuming he or
      she is authorized to maintain number ranges at all.
    2. Define Authorization:
      In Administration -> System Initialization -> Authorization -> General
      Authorization window, you select the user in the left and define his
      authorization under Administration
    ->System Initialization -> Series - Group.
    After the two steps above, a specific user can only view and add the
    documents within the series which has been assigned to a specific group
    that he has been fully authorized.
    Hope it is helpful!

    Ivy

  • Trying to assign User to ADS-Group

    Hi,
    i'm trying to assign a User to an ADS group using the script "sap_getGroupDN".
    Unfortunately the mskey given to that method is the mskey from the user and not from the group.
    Any suggestions or ideas?
    How managed you that case?
    Kind regards,

    CONET Solutions GmbH

    Hi folks,
    it seems I'm having a very similar problem to Achim, although the sympton is a little different. When I run the task to assign a role (1 AS ABAP, 1 AS Java and 1 AD OU) on the task AssignUserToADSGroupI get an error message that reads:
    PrivDN: !ERROR:No such attribute
    I've assigned the privelege to the role, and it seems to recognize that and create the user, however...the groups don't get assigned.

  • Assigning Users to Groups on LDAP thru EP

    Hi,
    I have configured EP6 SP7 with multiple LDAP(MS-ADS)servers. I can read/write the groups and users to LDAP through EP. But i cannot assign the users to groups through Enterprise Portal. Also if i assign users to a group in LDAP on LDAP server itself, these assignments does not show up in the portal. do i have to configure my dataSourceConfiguration_multiLDAP_db.xml file? if so then which parameter?
    Please advise.
    regards,
    Hassan

    Dear Hassan,
    Need a clarification. If users are assigned to a group in LDAP, Can you see the same thing reflecting in portal?
    I have configured LDAP as UME and I am able to see a group of LDAP appearing in Portal. But when I see the list of users assigned to this group, its empty.
    Any clues or suggestions.
    Regards,
    Sreeram
