Assign User Privallages

Hi guys,
im a bit stuck and could do with some advice!
i have finished my databsae application in apex. but now i want to set user privallages. and im getting quite stuck understanding it.
basically what i think is needed is this:
1. select authenication scheme (im using application express)
2. create users
3. create authorization schemes
4. assign users to authorization schemes?? (this is the part i dont understand)
5. assign authorization schemes to various buttons.
basically all users in my database are end users. and none will have the privallage to edit the database at all. i just want to restrict who can see and use certain pages i have made in apex.
any inside would be most helpful - i have been reading and researching but still cant understand it, so i think my logic of the whole process must be flawed.

Hello: i just want to restrict who can see and use certain pages i have made in apex.This is straightforward to implement. All you need to do is assign the appropriate authorization scheme to the page. The authorization scheme could be something as simple as (Using Auth type of 'pl/sql returning Boolean') if :app_user in ('JOHN' 'JILL') then
