Assignement of Material componets in standard network

What is meant by assignement of material componets by Material BOM and By Standard BOM in the standard network and when to use the same.

Hi,
The only way to assign materials to an activity of a standard network is via a BOM. When linking a BOM to thehe activity, the items of the BOM are automatically assigned to the activity.
You can link a material master BOM, but you can also link a kind of dummy BOM (standard BOM). The standard BOM is especially created for a particular assignment. When creating the standard BOM starting from the standard network you will see that a BOM is created with a header that has a reference to the standard network number (this is the standard object). There exist no master data record for the standard object.

While creating task list(tcode IA05), i need to assign Componets to operation activity.Now in the componet assignment, the material deatils(material,quantity etc) are to be picked from different storage location of same plant( as same material is present in more than one storage location within same plant).But here the problem is that the storage location field "Sloc" is uneditable i.e grayed.How to select material from multiple storage location?

i think you cannot able to assign the storage location in the task list ,since it is used for planning you cannot plan for particular storage location ,you can use customer exit in the maintenance order to determine the storage location

Standard network assigning various WBS Elements

Hi,
I am using Standard network and Stand WBS Element for creating actual project.
There are Std WBS Elements, using the same Standard network. As i know, we can assign Std WBS Element in Std network. How can i make it using same std network for various Std wbs element to create actual project as Std network is same for most of the WBS Elements.
I donot want to copy Std network for actual project once we create copying Std Project in CJ20N.

Hi,
I have a standard network with a standard WBS assignment at BOTH header and activity levels.
I created a link to a material in CN08 with this standard network.
Assembly processing has been configured.
When creating a sales order, entering the material... the network create screen appears and the system requests a WBS element.
At this point the system should have created the WBS element.
When I insert an existing active WBS element as a test..., the system message indicates that the network is already assigned to a Std WBS element.
Why is the system not using this assignment to create a project and WBS element form the standard structure?

As a test...
I've removed the linking of the material and standard network in CN08 - and the system now displayed a screen asking for standard network details.
I create the material and standard network link again in CN08 - and I'm back to the original issue of the network create screen appearing, but the WBS field is blank. The system is not generating the WBS.
So - the system is recognizing the link of the material entered in the sales order and the standard network via CN08. But its not using the Standard WBS used in the standard network AND CN08 setup....
Note: The Std WBS has the planning and billing indicator ticked.
Once again, when creating the sales order, I get the network create screen asking for a WBS element. If I insert an existing WBS element I get the message below. The issue is - I know the standard WBS assignment exists, why isn't the system generating a new operative WBS at this point?

Diagnosis
You have created a network by copying from a standard network. The standard network is assigned to a standard WBS.
However, at the same time, you have made your own assignments to WBS elements.
System Response
When you manually make assignments to WBS elements, the system does not necessarily take the asignments in the standard stuctures into account.
Procedure
When you call up the function replace standard WBS or when you save the network you decide whether the manually created WBS assignments or those fronm the standard structures are copied.

How to create and use templete or standard network / activity and wbs

dear
i have define the structure for my project which have WBS elements, network and activties. the strucutre is same for all the projects that i define.
i wanna know whether to use templete or standard wbs network and activities as templete for the project.
for a network there are almost 150 activties across 10 wbs elements i want this structure as a templete what can i do create it.
Further, how can i use LSMW to create relationship for ativities?

Need to restrict view of DIRs assigned to material, vendor, and customer

SAP standard, version ECC 6.0. Different plants in use with requirement for differnt authorizations.
I know that DIRs can be assigned to material master. However, the problem is that it's client level data. Now there is a need to implement DMS with materials, vendors, and customers.
Problem is that company operates in different countries and with different plants. One material/customer/vendor is created and then extended to cover different plants.
Material 1111 has a specification assigned to it, e.g. document type ZSP with DIR 1000001111, this document is at client level.
Person A from plant 1000 can display and maintain it (1000001111) but person B from 2000 must not see this, she has DIR 10000011113 instead (and person A should see this).
If person A has authorizations which are limited by the plant type because of the usage of MM already, do these restrictions apply also to DMS? I haven't found a definite answer for this.
I cannot set a authorization object based on document type and maintaining different uthorization groups is the last option because of the vast number of users.
The same question is for customer. if there is e.g. a contract assigned to customer, can the view be restricted by distribution channel or another field provided by SD (standard solution).
Vendor master is the 3rd major issue. How to limit access to documents?

Releasing standard network automatically when integrated in released proj.

Hi Guys,
I am facing the following problem:
In the PS module we have created several Def/WBS standard structures with NW and activities.
Once we have copied the standard template in a new operative structure, we add some new standard networks and rebuild the structure in order to fulfil the new operative project needs. Once done we release the project definition in order to release all objects in the projects, i.e. WBS, Networks, activities and material.
For some reasons and after the releasing phase we have to had new standard networks somewhere in the project structure on WBS level.
The problem we face then is that the new network and all the related activities do not get the release status as all other objects but still remain in the open status. How is it possible to set automatically the release status in the new network, as far as the project definition is released?

Hi Pierre,
Check the option in OPSC to release the networks immediately after the creation. This will release the networks as soon as they are created.

Copy of standard network

Hi Friends,
I am trying to copy standard network template in CN01 but all activities are coming by default, I want to remove the activities but when i try to delete them I am getting message CP654- You can only select created records.

I tried that also. When I use copy function all the activities which are present come in my network as gray out & remaining one come in normal mode. When I remove WBS assigned to these from total tab& then try to delete i am able to do so but still it doesnt get updated.
Forexample, In the network template 730 activities are there in primary costs tab . These gets copied in gray out , but rest i.e.740 onwards are copied & these I want to delete , but system is not allowing me to do so. i am using CN02.
After removing WBS , I am able to delete but its not getting saved.
In create std network option, all the activities are coming & these are also i am not able to delete.

Standard Network with Standard WBS not creating the project

Hi,
I've got existing Network templates set up for various company codes. The std networks are linked to std wbs elements. This creates a full project structure when coping the standard network in CJ20N.
However, on an existing company code and plant, I am creating a network template with std wbs assignment, the point at which the other networks jump to the WBS create screen to replace WBS / Proj numbers etc... is NOT HAPPENING. The system immediately asks for a OPERATIVE WBS to be entered.
This company code specifically requested in the past that that their users only use operative WBS elements. Question: Where is it possible to set this restriction for a specific company code / org unit so the std network ignores the std wbs assignment and requests an operative WBS entry?

I am not clear what you need here?? Is it that you want to remove the check which is asking for a Operative WBS instead of standard for a particular company code?
My guess would be to check for any enhancements done for CJ01 tcode, using SMOD or CMOD.

It is true that it is not possible to see the cost of any std network, only when it becomes an operative network it has an actual cost.
Please jot down ur requirements properly.

How to standard network / activity and std wbs to operative project

dear all,
i want to include a standard network that has assignments to standard WBS elements. However, to assign std network from templete area i got dialog box (include standard nework) which contains:
(You want to include a standard network that has assignments to standard WBS elements. However, the selected WBS element does not correspond to the standard WBS element.)
in below the above message there are 2 button i.e.
1. Copy Assignment
2. Ignore Assignment
in both the above button selection i am not able to bring assigned (std WBSe).
After all my finding i am not able to bring activity assigned WBS elements. Kindly help and provide information to resolve the problum.

Dear Experts,
I want to see Material Consumption for
for WBSE 281Q (Project to Project)
for Network 221Q (Network from Project)
I can see values in Report MB51,
but I can not see for which WBSE it is consumed or from which WBSE it is consumed.
The Entries are there in table MSEG field MAT_PSPNR.
It is not shown in Report MB51, For this column blank is shown, no value is shown.
Can you help me, how can I see material consumption for WBSE & Network with WBSE ID for/from which.

In my first post I have said:
I am trying MB51, with
221Q Project to Project GI
281Q Project to Network GI.
I am getting material consumption quantities,
Network/Activities for which consumption is done is also shown.
But the WBSE for which / from which consumption is done, that column is blank.
It is showing WBSE for 101 GR for Project
I want to know for which /from which WBSE material was consumed?
I have tried to explain problem again.

Is there any way or standard report to check standard WBS (cj93) link to standard network/activity (CN03).
Normally we create project by using template existing, we would like to check the structure. Is there any way to check the standard template for it ( WBS template link to network/activity template).

Please try this:
1. Tcode : CN41
2. Change database profile: In that in the origin check mark the Standard structure. Continue..
3. At the bottom of the selection screen check mark the standard structures.
4. In the selction area for the Project hit F4 and select the project based on the standard WBS Element.
5. Exceute the report.

Error in standard network creation using BAPI

I need to create standard network using BAPI.
I am trying with BAPI_BUS2002_CREATE. As per the documentation, I need to call function BAPI_PS_INITIALIZATION. But, I am not able to get the required output since its giving me error.
Does anybody has used the same BAPI for standard network creation.

Uploading Standard Networks (tr. CN01) using LSMW

Dear colleagues!
I've recently faced a problem trying to craete LSMW project for uploading Standard Networks to the system.
Once the Object 170 (Routing), Method 0002 (Direct input) has been chosen for the Standard Batch/Direct Input in step 1 and everything else has also been prepaired for uploading (steps 2-12), while processing the step 13 LSMW says that "Transaction CN01 doesn't exist".
At the same time thist Object 170 and Method are valid for, for example, PP's transaction CA01 (also a route).
What might this error message coused by?
Or probably sombody could recommend some other effecient method for mass uploading Sdandard Networks to the System?
