Assigning a Hotkey to the SMS Inbox

I would like to assign a hotkey (the one with the envelope to be exact) to my SMS inbox. I would like to be able to reach the SMS inbox with one click, but apparently it is not possible. You can assign to "messages" in general but then its two more clicks to the inbox. I know that for a new SMS message an icon with direct link appears but this is not the point here. Is there any hack or maybe 3rd party app to achieve a direct link to the inbox? This question applies to all E series phones I think. Thanks.

  • No Sender Name in SMS Inbox

I have just changed from a Pearl to a Curve and have a problem displaying the senders name in the SMS inbox even if they are in my Contacts.  I had the same problem on the Pearl but found that if I also saved the contact to the SIM, the name would then appear in the Inbox.
I have tried the same solution on the Curve but it has not worked.  It is driving me mad as I don't know who a text message is from.

Hi there Yes, it has to do with the prefix
To fix it go to call log -> smart dialing -> and in "country code" change to your country's code (44 in your case)
That'll fix the name on the messages

  • SMS inbox doesn't show new messages after upgrading to OS 5.0.0.681. SMS format appears as IM.

My SMS inbox doesnt show new messages and also my Curve 8900 doesnt prompt for any new messages. However, the Mobiso application (which logs calls, texts) shows messages coming in with its text lengths. I asked this to Blackberryhelp on Twitter but it said to contact service provider, but there is nothing wrong with it. The format of the SMS inbox should have something wrong otherwise the Mobiso application should not have logged all messages.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

  • How to generate a mail into the SAP Inbox

    Hi everyone,
I have an MM Workflow that is starting correctly and a mail is supposed to be generated in the user Inbox in SAP after the completion of a material enhancement but it does not. The Workflow was copied from another system and it was working fine.
I tried to see any event (step) that is sending a mail in the Workflow and I found only 1 but it seem correctly configured from what I can see. I am not even sure this is the right event that I am looking at.
Does anyone have an idea of what I should look for and how I could manage to see why no mail is generated?
I am still a beginner in Workflow so try to give me as much detail as possible.
Thank you in advance for your answers.
    Best regards,
    Sylvain

    Hi Sylvain,
The issue could be at many places.
Check the workflow step that needs to send the mail to the desired user.
Check if the agent who needs to recieve the mail is pesent in the current system. If the user is not hard-coded, check how the user is getting fetched in the step. If it is through rules, etc you need to debug the same.
Also check the authorizations of the user in SU01. Check the agent assignment for the task as well.
You can find much information in the workflow  log to start with the debugging.
    Hope this helps!
    Regards,
    Saumya

  • SMS Inbox full, even after deleted tons of messages.

It says my SMS inbox is full even after I deleted TONS of conversations. What should I do!? I already did reset all settings.
    Help please! =(

for some reason it has to do with the iOS5 update that was released yesterday that I upgraded my 3gs phone on before buying a 4s today.  i've been frustrated with it but just figured it out or at least got mine to work.
i had spent a good bit of today deleting messages thinking that would do it.  i spoke to AT&T (clueless) where I got my new 4s phone today and did some research here on apple's website and was put on hold by an apple rep for an hour today.  from googling i found that your phone supposedly holds 75,000 messages but it must be less than that or have a different way of calculating it than you might think.  here's why.
you have more messages than you think.  a lot of my conversations went back to 2008.  there was one person in particular that i had exchanged a good number of messages with but i wanted to keep those so after deleting messages all day and getting nowhere i decided to figure out how to export SMS messages that i wanted to save.  there is an app called SMS Export and that did the trick.  I ran it and was suprised to see that after all of my deleting today i still had 61,000 messages.  so i exported this one person I had exchanged 20,000 messages with and deleted her messages from my phone leaving me with 41,000.  i restarted my phone and when it booted back up the new texts starting flowing through, 17 in all missed today.
    back in business!

  • Why is the SMS app trying to connect to the internet?

    Hi all,
I have an iPhone4 on a pre paid sim, and I noticed that my credit/load was being used up even though I had all push notifications etc turned off. I change the APN so that the phone couldn't connect to the internet without me knowing.
So now, each time I open the SMS app I get the message of "Could not activate cellular data network", so for some reason the SMS application is attempting to access the internet each time it is opened, and this is the reason why my credit/load was being used up.
I have NO MMS messages in my inbox so there is no reason that i can see why the app would try to connect to the internet.
Interestingly enough, this used to happen on my old iPhone 3G, however it suddenly just stopped one day.
So my questions is two fold...
    1) Why is SMS connecting to the internet?
    2) How the **** do i stop it?
    Thanks

    beecart wrote:
nick <<<SMS sends/receives data over the cell phone network - it doesn't access the internet. The reason it tries to access the network when you start it is to check for any SMS messages you have and also, I suppose, to establish and validate a connection so that you can send or receive when you need to.>>>
so does the above mean that if someone sends an sms it doesn't come through until you click on the message icon to check for them? i am having problems with delayed sms/mms but find that the backlog all come through sometimes when i have 'woke' the iphone, click on message app or launched an app.
    Any thoughts ?
No - what ought to happen is that the SMS message is pushed straight to your phone. If you're in an area of weak service, the SMS messages might not be able to get through straight away and, when that happens, it can sometimes take a long while after you move to an area of good signal for the messages to arrive. I recently spent some months working in a building where my carrier (O2 in the UK) had very poor to non-existent reception. People would SMS me during the day and, even though I came out of the building frequently, I often didn't get the messages on my phone until late evening.
    Hope that helps

  • E66 SMS Inbox List Style

The display style of Nokia E66 Inbox Message List as:
     <PhoneNo/SenderName>   <MessagePreview>   <Date/Time>
The problem is, the columns are too narrow, 3-4 alphabat for <PhoneNo/SenderName>, it could not properly display the full name of sender. Look at the Inbox Message Lis, we can't tell who send SMS to us.
Another, the <MessagePreview> column also too narrow, It just be able to preview the word "The", again, it can't tell which topic of the SMS we received.

Any method to change the display style of Nokia E66 Inbox Message List? Like one in Nokia 6120a:
    <PhoneNo/SenderName>
    <MessagePreview>
There is no column, with 2 rows, clearly display the sender name, and message topic. This is good. Can E66 change to like this?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    try the following
Personalisation settingsSelect Menu > Tools > Settings > General >Personalisation.Display settingsTo turn the automatic display rotation on or off, selectDisplay > Display rotation. To select whether you want the image to change to full screenin the landscape mode, select Display > Turn to full view.To define the level of light that the device needs beforeswitching on the backlight, select Display > Light sensor. To change the text size, select Display > Font size.
or here this is probably what you need
Other settingsSelect Menu > Communic. > Messaging > Options >Settings > Other.Select from the following:• Save sent messages — Select whether to store sentmessages in the Sent folder.• Number of saved msgs. — Enter the number of sentmessages to save. When the limit is reached, the oldest
message is deleted.• Memory in use — Select where to save your messages. You can save messages to the memory card only if a
memory card is inserted.• Folder view — Define how you want the messages inInbox to be shown.

  • SMS inbox full? But not really.

I suddenly got a message a few hours ago that said "Your SMS mailbox is full. New messages cannot be received until you delete some messages." I know my iPhone is nowhere near reaching it's storage capacity and I have had the same messages on there from my last iPhone for a couple years. So it seemed odd. But I deleted a bunch of messages and turned it on and off and I was still unable to receive text messages. I then deleted a bunch of entire conversations and turned it on and off and still couldn't receive texts. I then backed up my iPhone and reset it to factory settings. When I did that it, I received all of the text messages I had been sent in the past few hours. Then, I restored it to its previous backup and again, it said my SMS inbox was full, which makes no sense, since I'd already deleted hundreds. If anyone can help, PLEASE. Thanks.

i also got the error message "Your sms mailbox is full. New messages cannot be received until you delete some messages." and i have more then enough memory ...
i just called apple care and this is what they told me to do
go to  Settings -> General settings -> Reset -> Reset all settings
    this WON'T erase any data!
Then after about 5 mins connect the phone to the computer with iTunes open and then the text messages should come thru
    this worked for me!
hopefully it will work for you too
