Assigning a map to an outbound port

Hello together,
I'm trying to syndicate several records using syndication server. I defined my mapping in the MDM Syndicator (5.5 SP5) and saved it. Then I tried to create a port in the console. I took a remote system type inbound/outbound. I defined the port as outbound and expected that I could select my map from the syndicator.
Could you please tell me what I do wrong?
Thanks in advance
René

As far as I understood your problem, you want to syndicate file to the port.
For this -
1) Go to destination properties in Syndicator, select the type, then select your <b>client system</b>.
2) Map the fields and save this map as say MAP1.
3) Now in your Console under Admin node select the port.
Here select your outbound port and the associated client system. In the Map field detail select your map you have created above i.e. MAP1 and save it.
4) Load the repository.
5) Go to Syndicator and open your map i.e MAP1
6) Select Destnation properties.
This time select type as port, corresponding client system and port.
7)Execute the syndication.
Your file will get posted to the respective port.
Hope this helps.

  • GWIA Outbound Port

Hi, I'm having a small problem... My ISP (Comcast) blocks all outgoing connections on port 25. Which as you know is the default SMTP port and the port GWIA normally uses to send email.
Comcast now requires that you send email on their server (smtp.comcast.net) using Port 587 and authentication. I believe I've read enough information to get the Outbound Authentication working, but have been searching high and low for information on how to change GWIAs outbound port.
I know this is easily accomplished on Exchange as that's what I am currently using. Company is looking to switch to Groupwise but this cannot be done unless I can get this problem fixed.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Don't have any experience with this situation, but was wondering if you can configure your outbound host (/mh switch if using your gwia.cfg file) with the port on it. Try putting 1.2.3.4:587 for your outbound host.

  • SG 300-10 . Mapping fiber to ethernet ports (vlans?)...

    Hi,
the incoming fiber on ports 9 and 10 are on different subnets.  I need to map the subnet on port 9 to ethernet ports 1-9 and port 10 is on its own.  I have the device IPv4 address set to a static address on the same subnet as port 9.  I don't know if there's an easier approach, but I attempted to map the ports using vlans (please see the attached screenshots).  We don't yet have the fiber link established for port 10, so I haven't had a chance to test, but I wanted to confirm that my configuration is sound.  I used the default vlan for ports 1-9, because I need to manage through that subnet.  I added vlan 10 for port 10, but I don't know if I have it configured correctly... Please advise.  Thanks..!

    Hi Greg,
Fiber ethernet  is most likely running at 1000Mbits/sec and any   Copper Ethernet interfaces on the switch runs at 1000Mbit/sec.  personally the only differentiation I make between the copper or fiber  are the distances they can  run.
I love your screen captures it shows me that ports 1-9 are untagged in VLAN 1 (default VLAN)  and port 10 is untagged in VLAN 10.
It tells me that both fiber runs are running untagged Ethernet frames on both fiber runs.
You have associated a IP address onto VLAN1 so you can manage the switch.
    but the next question is;
What are you trying to achieve ?
    regards Dave

  • Outbound port to open

I need to send a request to the infrastructure people saying which firewall ports to open to allow my SQL Server to extract data from an external SQL Server. (I can't test anything and they want a few ports or small range).
I need to be able to connect from my server behind the firewall to the remote server - I guess the preference would be to use SSIS but would also like to be able to create a linked server connection.
So which outbound ports would I need to be opened? I assume the destination would use the same port for the response? Does anything need to be done to allow that?

I don't have any experience of enterprise-level firewall products, but the consumer-level firewalls I have used (Outpost, Kaspersky, ZoneAlarm etc), typicall permit outgoing traffic per
application. That is, if I don't like Windows Media Player calling home, and I only use it to play files on my own machine, I can tell the firewall to block all outgoing traffic from WMP. A good firewall also lets me restrict an application to
only use a certain port, a certain protocol or connect to a certain IP address.
Blocking outgoing traffic per ports is completely crazy. And while the world of IT is full of people on high horses who know a lot less than the height of their horses, I would not expect a firewall administrator to be that stupid. (Because it would break
down very quickly.) I suspect that you and the infrastructure people are talking past each other.
What probably needs to be open is the incoming port on the remote server. That is, if that server is listening on port 1433, that is the port to open.
As an example, while I can access the web in general from work, there is web-attest system that I can't access. This is sure due to that the URL includes :9898.

  • Mapping to multiple contact ports...

The last holdout feature that Timbuktu performs that ARD hasn't learned (that I know of) is connecting to multiple clients through a NAT'd firewall. In TB2 you assign a "tcp contact port", say in the 4000 range to each TB2 client machine. Then you setup the forwarding rules on your firewall/router and then from the outside you merely type the IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:4000 or 4001 or 4002..etc to connect to those Macs on the inside of the firewall. Anyone have thoughts on whether this can be hacked into function with ARD? From my current viewpoint, it's a no go, but then I'm always willing to be proven wrong.
    Thanks.

You can select what port in the 5900 range the ARD administrator application uses to connect to a client, but you cannot set what ports the client agent uses (and there's no way to "hack" a change). So you can use ARD to observe and control systems behind an NAT router by mapping ports 5900, 5901 etc. (the VNC ports) to the various systems and then connecting as appropriate. You cannot, however, use the other functions behind an NAT router since they only use port 3283 which of course can only be mapped to a single system.
The other option is to have two copies of ARD, one behind the NAT to adminster all the systems on that side of the NAT router, and map the ports in the router to that system. Then you take control of that copy of ARD from the outside copy.
Remember that ARD is not just an observe/control system. It's much more a management system, so it's strengths play to being used for working with local systems. If all you need is observe/control, then Timbuktu, the new PC Anywhere 12, or the freeware VNC may be better choices.

  • Handling Unit not being assigned to TO for an outbound delivery

    Hi All
When I create a TO for an outbound delivery then a handling unit is not being assigned to the TO.
I cannot confirm the TO as it complains about the non assignment of HU.
I have done the following so far:
    1. Set up a default packing material w.r.t WhNo and movement type.
    2. Defined a packing group and then assigned the packing group to the packing material.
    3. Set 1 to the indicator for automatic HU creaion in customizations for automatic HU creation.
Is there something I am missing in the configuration?
    Any suggestions would help.
    Thanks,
    Arup

    Hello,
HU never get assign at the time of creation of TO. You can assign pick HU at the time of confirmation of TO. There are two ways
Use transaction code LH01 and assign pick HU
          OR
(ii)Or at the time of confirmation of TO click on pack tab and complete the packing

  • How to block outbound port in Solaris 10

    Hello,
I would like to block OUTBOUND telnets (port 23) - Let me repeat it's OUTBOUND (not inbound).
I need to do it on Server level (not Firewall level).
Any help would highly be appreciated.

Yes, you need to use ipfilter.
You can filter either inbound or outbound.
There's information in docs.sun.com on how to use svcadm to turn it on and there's an ipfilter mailing list to help you figure out how to use it.

I have used "Assign Place" for years and have numerous places identifying where photos have been taken. Today, when I tried to "assign a place" , iPhoto accepted the info, but the map window remained blank (terrain, satellite & hybrid…no difference- just a gray screen.  I ollked at older photos that had an assigned place- same thing gray, blank screen in "assign place".  Why?

  • Outbound port setting

i have a db that is placed behind a firewall and i have opened the default port1521 in the firewal now when i make the tnsping it works perfectly now when i try to connect with sql plus it gives me the error request timeout. i think that the issue is of the out bound port that oracle sets for the client at run time randomly now can any buddy help me in fixing that port so that it is fixed and not random

    Fassih,
yes you are correct. you have to open all the high range ports for outbound then only you can connect to the database(TCP).

  • Change Outbound Port for certain traffic

    Hi,
I am trying to do a specific task and not being able to figure out what I need to do. Essentially, I would like the Cisco IOS router (3945) to change all DNS traffic going outbound, to use port 54 instead of the standard port 53.
Setup is very simple. One inside Interface and One Outside interface. Internal addressing on the inside with PAT for internet access. I would like that whenever an internal client makes a DNS request. When the router forwards that to the DNS server on the internet, it should send it to port 54 instead of 53.
    Appreciate the help.

It's based on where you're going to see the traffic from. If you want to translate inside -> outside, you'll use "ip nat inside". Outside would be when you're wanting to translate an outside source to something else internal.
    *Edit*
It also depends on what interfaces you have labeled as "ip nat outside" and "ip nat inside".
    ip nat outside source list:
translates the source of the IP packets that are traveling outside to inside
translates the destination of the IP packets that are traveling inside to outside
    ip nat inside source list:
translates the source of IP packets that are traveling inside to outside
translates the destination of the IP packets that are traveling outside to inside

  • Mapping pWWNs to physical port

I am about to connect up a bunch of V445s with StorageTek PCI-X 4GB HBAs to a SAN solution. Before I can do that, I need to map my pWWNs to the physical support, so our cabling people can connect the bits of wire to the appropriate holes.
I've got the list of pWWNs, now I need to know how to map them to the physical ports. What I want to end up with is a diagram which has the pWWN and an arrow pointing to a particular port on a particular HBA.
Any ideas how I do this?
    TIA
    Stuart

    Stuart,
    Give this a try.
    ....# prtpicl -v | fgrep -e 'scsi-fcp
    ....> devfs-path
    ....> wwn'
You will get more than just HBA info but it will be easier to wade through than the entire prtpicl -v. Either way once you've captured the output, search on <scsi-fcp>. Here is a sample using the above filter.....
    SUNW,qlc (scsi-fcp, 2e0500000343)
    :device_type scsi-fcp
    :node-wwn 20 00 00 e0 8b 12 3e a7
    :port-wwn 21 00 00 e0 8b 12 3e a7
    :devfs-path /pci@1f,4000/SUNW,qlc@2
    :_class scsi-fcp
It should be a simple matter to match up the pci slots after that.

  • IDOC outbound port - No service for system X, client Y in Integration Direc

    Hi all,
We have a problem when sending an IDOC from ECC to XI to Legacy. At ECC, tx SMQS, we got the error "No service for system SAPEQ0, client 400, in Integration Directory".
I don't know what we need to do in ID to provide this service and solve this error...
Our ECC is configured on SLD as EQ0_400 (Logical name EQ0CLNT400), and the scenario was developed at Integration Directory using EQ0_400.
Debugging standard function that send the IDOC, I found that it ever uses the sender port as "SAP" + SY-SYSID... So I'm confusing, is necessary to configure the system in SLD whith this name "SAPEQ0"?
    thanks.
    roberti

Glad to hear that you got it working.
    >>"Error occurred during back-routing Error in communication channel".
Can you give some more description about the error?
Hope you have configured a IDOC receiver communication channel poiting to the ECCwith no reciever agreement attached to it.

  • Problem 2950 arp address not mapped to a destination port

I have a problem loosing connectivity to some switch connected directly to my 2950.
I have the mac address in the arp table but when not working the mac-address is not linked to any port in the show mac-address table.
    Please help

I think this could be simply a question of aging. The ARP tables are aged out after 4 hours. By contrast, the entries in the MAC forwarding tables are aged out after 5 minutes. All it means is that the host has not sent any frames to or through this particular switch in the last 5 minutes.
There can be other explanations, but they are rare. For example, if your host is actually a service address in a WLBS cluster configured in unicast mode, then the host will source its frames from a different address from the address it gives in response to an ARP request.
Another is if you have port security configured with a timeout shorter than your ARP table. You may have reached the maximum permitted MAC addresses. That would also account for your intermittent connectivity.
But, as I said, these are very particular cases.

  • Firewall issue - tcp outbound port 443

    Hello,
I have a server-side programming language that I am trying to connect from my webserver to a payment gateway via a tcp connection on port 443. For some reason, I can't connect to the host from my server (Snow Leopard Server). I can use the same code however on my local laptop, in the same network, and connect just fine.
    Any ideas?
Both machines are behind my Airport Base Station using port forwarding. I do have port forwarding enabled for port 443 in the airport which points to my Snow Leopard Server local I.P. address.
    Thanks for any thoughts.
    Donovan

Well, I spoke too soon.. the firewall *is* the problem.
There must have been a cache when I stopped it, which made it appear as if the fix was in the Airport Extreme. However, after turning the firewall back on, the issue came back. I've now done more testing, and the issue definitely involves the firewall.
In Server Admin, I have the following Active Rule in the firewall:
'Allow tcp from any to any dst-port 443'
I am guessing that my server-side language "tcp connection" is being seen in that rule. I was told it is like a telnet connection. Is there a different rule that I should put in to allow telnet connections on port 443? I would think the same rule would work for both.
    Anyway, saga continues.

  • Not able to assign map in Syndicator

    Hi all,
I am using Syndication Server of MDM 5.5 SP05 Patch 2 to create an export from my MDM repository into a flat file.
My plan is to define a map and assign it to a repository port for scheduled output.
But I am confused on how to create the map and assign it to the port. Did anyone do that before?
Could you give a step-by-step guide describing a simple case?
Here you can see what I did (severel times) until now:
    1. created a system for the repository in the MDM Console (named "System 1")
    2. created a port for the repository in the MDM Console (named "Port 1")
Type of port is "Outbound", System is "System 1". Map is empty.
    3. in the Syndicator created a map and saw the result on "Destination preview" tab
On the Map Properties Map the Output Remote System is set to "System 1"
    4. Saved the map via "File > SaveAs" and named it "Map 1"
    5. tried "File > Destination Properties" to set
       Type=Port
       Remote System=System 1
       Port=Port 1
Error message is "Could not load selected map"
    6. tried to save map as "Map 2" and repeated but same error message
    7. Back in the MDM Console at the Port no map is selectable as it seems no map is assigned to the port.
I know the documentation "MDM Syndicator Reference Guide 5.5 SP5 July 26, 2007" from SMP and studied it closely.
    In the documentation it says:
"To select a remote system, choose from the Remote System drop-down
list in the New Map dialog, shown in Figure 94."
But I can not find the "New Map" dialog. There is no "New" menu item.
    It also says:
"The File > Save As command saves to a new map. Use the
File > Save command to save to the current map if it has already been
    opened or saved."
I have not "Save" command in my File menu. Just "Save As"
    Anyone a hint?
    Thanks and best regards
    Ingo

    Hi,
now i am working on 5.5.41.58, i tried your scenario, i could not insert a map in  the port details tab. That may be a bug.
    normally what we do is,
    1. in the syndicator you create a map
go to file --> save as --> map 1.    map saved.
    2. go to file --> open the map --> export --> save to local system.
    3. in the console for that particular repository;
Admin --> Portstable --> click on already created outbound port, in the port details we have to assign the map,
but in this it is not allowing,
    hope this may help you
