Assigning applications to Workstation Groups

I would like to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue.
If I use Consoleone 1.3.6e and:
- create an application
- open the application and assign the it to the Workstation group
- apply the changes
Then I log the workstation in and look in the application launcher; the
application was never assigned.
However, if I use consoleone and open the workstation group, make "any"
change and apply that change, the application subsequently loads with no
problem.
Bug or my problem?

Did you enable the reading of Workstation groups under the launcher
configuration tab in the OU? Reading of Workstation Groups is disabled by
default.

App associated through Workstation Group not running on some PC's

Hello,
at one of our locations, we have the following problem:
an application to control internet access that is associated to a
Workstation Group, set to force run, does not launch. Strange thing is,
on the exact same PC's (HP D530) with the same image in another
classroom, the application launches fine. On completely different PC's,
the app also launches fine.
We turned on NAL logging, and saw this error:
App:Inventory
DS Object Name: Internet toegang.Algemeen.W2K.Applications.
Attribute list is Not NULL
24-11-04 10:57:38 -- NWDSRead returned error code -603 for 1 number of
attributes
"Internet Toegang" is the application that is having this strange issue.
Did a DSREPAIR to no avail.
Setup:
Novell NetWare 5.1 SP6
ZfD 3.2 SP3
Client PC's are running Windows 2000 SP4, DLU, no roaming profile.
Anyone got a clue ? I'm at a loss here :)

1) Try exporting the App to an AXT file and reimporting to see if that helps
- I've seen this fix odd issues.
2) Try Adding, Saving, and then removing an OS System Requirement with
specific OS Version number levels. This will update the App:Inventory
attribute.

Workstation Group Policies & WSUS

We are trying to apply group policies to workstation groups. The policy we are applying works perfectly when it is applied to user policies. But, when we apply them to the workstations it does not stick.
For example the one we want to get running properly is the WSUS configuration. It is applied to the machines, they even see it in wmsched. When the computers are logged in the WSUS policy is in effect, we can see the windows update settings grayed out while the Application Launcher is spinning. After the workstation is finished loading, the WSUS settings go away.
We can manually run them in wmsched and have it apply. But, automatically it doesn't work properly. We have followed directions, even played with the search policy settings, but nothing is working properly.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like a Policy Package scheduled "User desktop is active", or a
Fore Run Application Object, is changing the GPO settings.

Query on using Spaces feature to assign applications to spaces

I like the new Spaces feature, having been a user of VirtueDesktops before.
I have an issue with assigning an application to a particular Space.
The instructions from Help are below. I was able to do this for 4 applications, which seems to be as many as fit into the window available for listing them. Then, I hit the "+" to add other applications that are already running. When the pop-up menu appears, it does not list those applications (it does list Finder and the System Preferences that is running). So I go ahead and pick the application off the list from my Applications/ directory. It doesn't then appear in the list of applications in Spaces so that I can assign it to a particular space.
I assume that there isn't a limit to the number of applications I can assign in this way. Or is there a limit of 4.
In addition, when I use the Help feature on the Spaces assignment preferences panel, this text appears:
"To choose a space for the application, click the current space and choose from the pop-up menu."
However, it is not clear what "click the current space" means. One of the little numbered box images for the spaces that I have? Nothing happens when I click them.

You cannot add the same application you already assigned to a Space.
When you click the + sign, the pop-up menu shows the running applications which have not been assigned to a Space. If an application has been assigned to a Space, it will not be shown in that menu because the System Preferences/Expose/Spaces preference pane is used only for assigning applications to Spaces. If it is already assigned, there is no need to show it because it cannot be assigned to another Space. In that menu if you select “other” it will open your Applications folder, but any apps that have been assigned (and others that are not applications) will be grayed out. Perhaps what you are trying to do is assign the same application to two different Spaces. This cannot be done with the virtual desktop in Leopard, Spaces.
You said you had experience with other virtual desktops. Those often let the user assign an application to two or three or more desktops. Spaces does not allow that. An application can be assigned to one Space or all Spaces, but not anything in between.
I have interacted with other users who have experience using other virtual desktops and see this as flaw in Spaces. Perhaps it is. I have not worked with other virtual desktops. But this is how Spaces operates as a virtual desktop: an application can be assigned to one Space or all Spaces, but not 2, 3, 4 or any other number.
If you see this as a big drawback with Spaces, you should notify Apple. I don’t remember the website for reporting bugs and suggestions, but you should be able to find it on these forums.
If you are trying to navigate to the application running in Space 5, hold down the Control key and press the number 5 key. If you want to move the application in Space 5 to an adjacent Space, grab a window of the application in Space 5 and drag it to the any of the four edges of that window and it will switch to that Space. However, if you quit that application and open it again, it will open in its assigned Space, Space 5.

Assign Application Roles

E-Rec : How to assign applications to requisitions?

Hello Experts,
We have just started blue-printing of E-Rec and I am successful creating a requisition from Recruiter's page. I am just concerned how to assign applications to a requisition as search doesnt work being a very new system. I was trying to create an application using link "Create External Applications" from Recruiter's login page. Please guide.
Additional details: We have ECC and E-Rec on different box with EhP5.

You can always search for postings using a reference code - TREX and the indexes do not need to be setup for that to work. The create internal / external applications link is really used for a recruiter to create an application on behalf of a candidate. You could always just register a new external candidate and search for the job posting using the reference code and apply that way.

How to Assign Event to Auth Group

Please suggest is there any way to assign Event to Auth Group.
Scenario is:-
Add event ZHCM* to its own authorization group.These changes to SM64 are needed in order to assign the transaction (restricted to the custom program only) to Payroll for kicking off their interfaces after each payroll run. Please create custom auth group say ZPAY and assign the ZHCM* event to this new auth group.

i hope you are assigning to the radio group not to a radio button. i mean u could have radio group xx with buttons butt1,butt2 , butt3 etc. u cant have
xx.butt1 := 100
Besides that it's perfectly acceptable by oracle to assign to a radio group unless of course the variable is badly spelt

Application Navigator's Group By Category: How are categories determined?

Hi,
I'm new to JDeveloper and wanting to understand how the categories are determined in the Application Navigator's Group By Category.
For example:
Why are some items in the Applications Source folder, whereas others are in the Resources folder?
I do understand that new category folders will be added by modifying the Project Properties. For instance, if Offline Database is added, then a Offline Data Sources folder is added.
I thought there might be a correlation between the Applications Source and Resources folder and the Project Properties, but the algorithm for that seems a little strange to me.
Maybe I shouldn't worry about understanding this, but I do appreciate it when I know why something is structured as it is.

Anyway go to your workspace directory (I mean the OS filesystem, e.g. C:\workspace), there the directory named after the application, there are 2 directories - one for each project: Model and ViewController. The Resources you are talking about are the files under ViewController, Application Sources are the ViewController\src, Web Content are the ViewController\public_html files.

ISE - auto assign a device to group upon device registration

Hi,
Is it possible to auto assign a device to group upon device registration?
Typically in the registration portal, once "Register" button is clicked, the MAC address is put into "Registered Device" group, but let's say I want it to be put in different groups depending on the AD group? (Let's say when if Staff A register the device, the device automatically put into group A, Staff B to group B, and so forth)

If you create a portal Specific for device registration, you can define to which ID groups will belong the registered endpoints.
I didn't tried this, but it might be possible to have a different portal for registration based on AD group, if you chain it after CWA or Dot1x. That would make an additional redirection though.

SCCM 2012: Assigned updates to update group don't get there deployment

Problem:
When I assign available updates to the update group the updates are not getting there deployment. Deployed: NO
(Previous months no problem)
Situation:
SCCM 2012 SP1
We made different Update groups. Example:
Windows 2008 R2
This group is deployed to different collections and has several deployments.
Steps taken:
Downloaded the new updates to Windows 2008 R2 Deployment Package (no errors)
Edit Membership and added updates to the Windows 2008 R2 update group (no errors)
When I check the update group I see the assigned updates in the group. The Downloaded Status is YES but the Deployed status is NO. When I check the update deploymensts it has no deployments.
Any idea where to find a solution for the problem? Which logs files to check?

You could try and run this sql query to check the database directly and see if IsDeployed = 1 here. If that is the case there is just the console that is not updated. You'll need to change the Config Item ID (in red) to match the ID of your group, you'll
find this in the console. (Right click columns and add it)

CRM has the possibility to change the std. assignment which is limiting you right now into a multiple assignment. You can find this functionality in spro->crm->master data->organisational management->data transfer->(the first one) something like Change Orgmodel to multiple assignment.
Be aware that there are some limitations with each setting and this change cannot be made undone. So please read the documentation on this IMG activity carefully. If you execute the report and re-load the buffer via SE38 - Report HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE you should be able to assign the office the way you want to.
