Assigning invisible page as home page

Hello,
I am just setting up a site, where the user has different roles in his navigation.
Besides this, we have special start page, which is hidden, because it is not the roles shown in the navigation.
The start page is only available via a quicklink, e.g. "...irj/portal/startpage"
I would like to set up this start page as the page that is initially shown after the user has logged in.
But in fact, after login, the user is redirected to the page which is first in navigation.
How can I do this?

You may use either of the two ways to achieve this and both uses portal profile settings of the user. To access portal profile settings, go to Builder page/Administer tab; and use the portlet edit portal profiles.
1. one can either define a group with its default home page as this page that you created. then you can make all such users a member of that group. and now define this group in the 'portal profile' of these users.
2. or simply define this page as the default homepage of the user in the same portal user profile.
understand that this assumes that you do not want to make it the homepage for all users - or the 'global default homepage'.

do we have something like invisible page? For example, i have
a class with many many children, and the drawing of this class take
a time. I thought that i can draw my class (and all the children)
somewhere on invisible page, and that if it ready transform this
"ready" page to the visible page, so the user can see this control

You could use the viewstack container to accomplish what you
need. you can layout a viewstack with two children, the first one a
canvas and a label maybe that gives your users some feedback, and
another children containig your whole class, so if you have a
function or your class dispatches an event when it creation its
completed you can the change the viewstack selectedchildren to
reveal your class.

Make invisible page with dreamweaver 8?

hi there, I need a help please, about "can I make an invisible page with dw8?"
invisible page I mean is can I mean my website visitors can still have access to this page but this page name is now listed in the menu list.
and also, the 2nd is:
if I have 5 pages, and I want the menu list (consist of pages name) to be shown in only 3 of them how to do it?
I'm beginner, if you might think this is a silly question.

As for your first question do as you say, create the page and do not link to it from within your main content.

Req Assignment Tab page not coming for Service order

Hi All,
         I am working on simple service order SM01 type scenario. where in i am entering the operation & time for the same.
Now when i am going in to operation detail screen . I am not able to find out the requirement assignment tab page.
Strangely when i am using same reference object & creating the Maintenance order PM01 & doing the same as above it is showing the req assignment tab page.

Hi , I have found out the solution for the same.
I have found that the external scheduling flag is
set for order type SM01 in customizing. Since this is set, requirement
assignment tab will not be populated as this will be taken care
externally.
Remove the flag in below customising path.
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service--Maintenance and Service ProcessingMaintenance and Service Orders-Scheduling--External Scheduling--Define for Each Order Type
Once this flag is removed for order type SM01, this tab will appear
for service orders.

BC Is Making Up Invisible Pages

Hi,
So basically, this dropdown menu item, redirects to a page that does not exist, only when a customer is logged into a secure zone. The link to this non existent page is no where to be found. Not on the templates, not in the menu, not anywhere. I even tried to make a page so that at least that link from the drop down goes to SOMETHING, but when I tried to make a page, apparently that page already existed. So nope, that didn't work.
I made a re-direct from the fake link to the correct one, that didn't work either. The re-direct is there, but doesnt work.
If you can figure this out you are probably not human. But either way I'd love your help.

You have not provided any links or anything so very hard to help you at the moment.
Firstly - BC does not make invisible pages.
I am not sure what your doing but sounds like you have got yourself into a bit of a mess. If you click a link to a page that is secure (your not logged in) then it will go to a system page - 401 unauthorised access - This is under system pages in the admin.
And the other part of your post - Not sure what your doing but redirects are something you should not be doing and also make sure your not putting file extensions on for links where pages do not have them and vice versa.

Invisible page in navigation panel

Hi all,
We have created one role A and assigned a page Ap for that role. The page Ap has one iview Api which has hyper links. When user clicks on hyper link then the user is redirected to another role B having page Bp.
Now the page Bp is invisble in the navigation link. So when the user clicks on the hyperlink of Api iview then the navigation is not changed. The page is changed. User can see the page Bp but the navigation is still showing A and Ap.
We don't want to make the Bp page as visible in the navigation. It has to be invisble.
Any solution to solve the problem.

Refer to SAP Note 526020 "First Aid for Problems with Portal Navigation ", which provides solutions for various navigation related peoblem. Also check other relevant notes mentioned therein.

Mac - how do I assign safari pages to a space

I work on several projects in Google AdWords. I would like to assign each project to a specific space so that when I reboot (I like to shutdown every night) I will find my mac in roughly the same arrangement as the night before. I know how to assign apps to spaces , although I find this doesn't always work, so that is not purely the solution. When I work on a specific Google AdWords project, I might have several Safari pages open along with specific Word and Excel docs, and Adwords Editor. When I reboot in the am, I find that all Safari pages have opened the night before are now in the space assigned to Safari and I have to go through the cumbersome time-consuming business or reassigning docs or Safari pages to a vacant space in order to better see and concentrate on just the project on which I want to work. There must be an App for That! Please help me find it.

Assign/Change page image in TOC - RoboHelp 9

I would like to have 2 sep. page images in my TOC. One = [?] and another indicating that a video link is contained on page. I changed the URL image link but can't find out how to assign the image to the page. Is this the way to go? If so, how do I assign the image to the page. --Thank you.

This part is the real reason for my reply. I'm mystified as to why one would elect to use RoboHelp for all other authoring aspects, but resort to HTML Help Workshop (HHW) to manage assigning icons when you are able to easily to it from inside RoboHelp. Sure, HHW is free, but we are still assuming folks are using RoboHelp as we are in the RoboHelp forums, no? Why would I elect to use a separate tool when the tool I have does exactly what I need? So that bit is a real puzzler to me.
I noticed you also wanted to point out that the help for HHW states you may use your own icons. And to that I would caution that while it certainly is possible and I've done it, actual implementation is far more painful than many care to use. As a result, the whole notion of using your own icons is most likely abandoned after seeing how difficult it can be to get implemented.

View sites without assigning "Web Page Composer" role

I have created a site in web page composer, created a "Test" role in portal and connected it with the site.
Now the requirement is to assign the "Test" role to users so that users can see the output of the sites as a visitor but they should not be assigned the "Web Page Composer" role.
I removed the role "Web Page Composer" from users and assigned them the "Test" role to view the output. As a result, they are able to open the site but do not see any content.

Assign from Page 0 items

I have a page 0 item. Value gets assigned there when the user selects a value from a LOV in the same page. User will now populate the values in the rest of the page (say page 19, where page 0 is now part of). Now when user will click Create button to save the information. The page 0 item will now get assigned to a Page 19 item. I used the following stmt in a process which executes on submit
:P19_SRC_ID := :P0_SRC_ID;
But nothing is getting assigned .
Any idea?

Why don't you describe everything you have on the page in question (P19) and everything you have on P0. I have a feeling we are missing something, but without a more comprehensive view of what you are trying to do and the contents of the page, it's more a guessing game than anything. Alternatively, you can post a sample application for us to look at and attempt to assist you with.

Assigning WPC page to a role

I have followed all the steps of this blog.

I created a role and then a folder. I assigned the path for navigation connector of the wpc file, but still not able to see the page for that role.
Is there any specific settings to be done for KM related to this?

Hi Priya.
Common beginner's mistakes are the forgotten prefix wpcnavigation:// and a wrong number of slashes in the property External Connector:
wpcnavigation:///wpccontent/Sites/<MyWebSite>/Site Navigation/navigation.wpc
If it is not your case, try recreate a role from a scratch. Sometimes it helps.

How can i assign view page name at run time in task flow

Ex: I have TF in that i have two views i.e view1 and view2. in view1 there is one inputtext and button in inputtext i will give the name of the page, In view2 that particular page should be displayed.

Use a router in your task flow and point to the page you want to display according to the value entered in the input text.

Possible to assign two pages in a spread to each other?

My employer takes publisher PDFs and creates a version they can view in a browser and/or an iPad app. We received one PDF with some traits I've not seen. Whenever we try to crop all the pages in the combined PDF (yes we clicked "All"), it tries to force the cropping to apply to several page pairs. Each of these pages within the pairs appear as normal individual pages as you scroll through the PDF. The only thing distinguishing these pairs is that the graphic designer obviously intended for them to be two-page spreads.
Could it be there's a setting in Acrobat Pro X that "tells" pages they belong to each other? Something that would cause them to not process separately in the crop function?
Google search didn't turn up an answer.

The link below goes to a combined image. The top left is several pages in Acrobat thumbnail view. Top right is what happens to pages 2 and 3 after entire PDF is cropped. If I click either 2 or 3 now, the larger view (bottom screen capture) shows how Acrobat is both cropping AND combining pages. Bizarre.

Change visible property of iView assigned to page

As per my understanding you want a way to dynamically edit the property of the PCD objetcs using PDK. SAP provides an API for the same puspose. Please refer to this link for more details
