Assigning multiple IP address to the same Interface in rc.conf

Hi,
Is there any way to assign multiple IP address to the same Interface in rc.conf ?
Or else how is it done?
Thanks

Like oh so many things, IP aliasing is covered in the wiki.
Or you can just add the commands to /etc/rc.local if you need to do it some other way.

  • Multiple shipping addresses for the same supplier (depending on the symbol)

Hello ,can we set up multiple shipping addresses for the same supplier (depending on the symbol)?
    .& How..
    Thanks

a delivery adedress has nothing to do with a certain supplier, except you are talking about subcontracting (do you?)
a delivery address specifies an address where you want the supplier to send the goods to.
if it is a third party PO, then the delivery address is derived from ship-to partner of the sales order.
in case of a standard order to stock, the delivery address is coming from the storage location address (if maintained). if no storage location address is maintained, then SAP takes the address from your plant.
You can manually add a delivery address in MEAN transaction and then manually assign in POs delivery address tab.
here you can as well take the address from any address already in your system (e.g. any customer or vendor).

  • E4200 v2 - Uses multiple MAC addresses for the same device

This unit seems pretty good at first but on looking at the Web interface I noticed that it was using multiple mac addresses for the same device and showing devices on the lan on the Wireless side and other odd things.
After a week of running it the home server network started to get erratic, it would seem to all point to dns and dhcp issues in the router.
Seems the V1 had the same issues that they did not fix on this.
The Cisco connect software shows 5 devices the Web based utility shows 3??.
Its pretty bad that they charge nearly $200 and cannot be bothered to finish the unit or address the issues that were in V1.

I am afraid I didn't get the clear picture of the issue mentioned in the post. Could you please elaborate a little bit? If you connect a device/computer wired and then later you connect it wirelessly. It is obvious that you would get to see two different MAC addresses for the same device, one for the LAN adaptor and other one for WLAN adaptor. If that is what you are referring to?
Secondly, may I  know, what issues did you face with DNS and DHCP in the router? Is it not able to resolve the DNS or something else or DHCP is not sending IP address to the clients?

  • Can i send to multiple email addresses for the same contact

I coach a baseball team and I want to create contacts under the kids' names with email addresses for both parents listed.  Can I send email to multiple email addresses listed inside the same contact?  I hope this makes sense.
    Thanks!

You can do it individually, but it can also be done with Groups in Contacts, but you will need to create two or more groups. Once you have created the Groups in Contacts, drag the contacts that have multiple email addresses into each group. Then, select Edit Distribution List… from the Edit menu in Contacts.
For each group, select one address or the other for each contact. Do the same for the other group.
When you address an email, add both Groups to the address field in Mail.

  • Ability to add multiple email addresses to the same contact person

    Hello SRM Experts,
    I have a question in SRM 5.0
In "Personal Data" tab of "Employee Data" in Manage Business Partner, we have the ability to add multiple email address. But only one email can be selected as standard.
We have a new requiremnt that more than one email address has to be selected. Which means, when a bid invitation is published, the email notification has to go to all the email addresses from that list.
    How can this be achieved?
    Any information would be appreciated.
    Thank you

By default the system send intimation to only one email id to the contact person.
If you want to be send to the multiple email id for a contact person. you need to implement the same in the BADI..
Try to find the BADI which is called on save of Bid invitation. You can check of the 'Published' status in the BADI method and fire the emails as required.

  • Managing multiple email addresses for the same contact

    Hi
I have set up a group so I can email multiple people at once using the usual method. However, when I put the 'xx group' in the Bcc, it mails them fine, but where I have more than one address for the contact, it picks one without asking me.
How do I set it so it always chooses a certain (main) address? For one, it sent it one of two addresses I had listed as 'home', on another it sent it to an address I had listed as 'work'.
They also appeared in different positions on the card, e.g. it is not sending tit to the first one it sees on the card.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Mark

    found the answer somewhere else:
When sending a message to a Group and a Group member (or members) has multiple email addresses, the following was copied from Address Book Help.
Choose Edit > Edit Distribution List.
Select the group whose addresses you want to manage.
Click the pop-up menu (column header) to choose which type of information you want to manage—phone number, email address, or street address.
Select the address or phone number you want to use for each member with multiple addresses or phone numbers.

  • Ability to send email to multiple email addresses of the same contact perso

    Hi All,
    We are using SRM 5.5.
In "Personal Data" tab of "Employee Data" in Manage Business Partner, we have the ability to add multiple email address. But only one email can be selected as standard.
We have a new requirement that when a bid invitation is published, the email notification has to go to all the email addresses from that list. i.e to pick up as many email addresses as are stored in the contact (personal data) screen in the Manage Partner tab.
This changes also applies to the change and republication process of bid invitation when click on u2018inform bidder u2018 button.
    Any information would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    S K.

    One option is the following:
    1. Go to SPRO and locate "define actions for document output"; select the "processing types" for BBP_PD_BID. Look at the "Smart Form Mail" processing class / method. If it is the standard class CL_PD_BID_PROCESSING_BBP, change it to one of your own Z class and method. (You could make copy of the standard CL_PD_BID_PROCESSING_BBP class.)
    2. Modify the method PROCESS_BBP_BID_MAI_BCS of your Z class; locate the comment "Create and send email" and make changes to that section to add more email recipients of that contact person.

  • I have an Apple ID with a single  e mail address. I want to set multiple addresses in the same ID. Can I? If so how?

I have an Apple ID with a single  e mail address. I want to set multiple addresses in the same ID. Can I? If so how?

    Howdy there johnzcarp,
As I understand it you want to have more than 1 email address under your Apple ID. You can have what are called Alternate Email addresses associated with your Apple ID and this article will help you get those setup:
Manage your Apple ID primary, rescue, alternate, and notification email addresses
    Alternate email address
You can add one or more alternate email addresses for use with Apple services such as Game Center, FaceTime, Find My Friends, iMessage, and OS X notifications.
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
Select “Manage your Apple ID” and sign in.
    Add an alternate address:
Select Add Email Address, then enter your alternate address. Apple will send a verification email to that address. Didn't receive the email?
Follow the instructions in the email to verify the address.
    Edit an alternate address:
Select Edit next to the address, then enter the new address. Apple will send a verification email to that address. Didn't receive the email?
Follow the instructions in the email to verify the address.
Delete an alternate address: Select Delete next to the address.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • How to permit multiple workspaces to access the same schema?

    Hello,
When creating a new workspace (version 3.2), I am getting the following warnings:
"Warning: The requested schema already exists. Warning: The requested schema is already assigned to one or more workspaces. Please ensure that giving multiple workspaces access to the same schema is permitted by the security policies at your site before approving this request."
How do I "ensure that giving multiple workspaces access to the same schema is permitted"?
What are the advantages/disadvantages of doing so?
    Thanks,
    Gabor

The correct answer to it would have been: I use manual provisioning.I didn't ask a detailed enough question. What I am wondering is how you are set up to to workspace provisioning at your site. In apex_admin, if you navigate to Home>Manage Service>Instance Settings there is a radio group like:
    Provisioning Status:
0 Manual - An administrator manually creates each workspace
0 Request - Link displayed on login page enabling users to request workspaces
0 Email Verification - Workspace created after email address is verified by the user
The help text for this is:
    Provisioning Status:
Determines how the process of provisioning (or creating) a workspace works for your development instance. Options include:
        * Manual - An Application Express administrator manually creates new workspaces and notifies the Workspace administrator of the login information.
        * Request - Users request workspaces directly in a self-service fashion. Selecting this option displays a link on the Login page enabling users to request a workspace. When a user requests a workspace, each request is submitted to a queue for approval.
        * Email Verification - Works similar to Request except each user receives an initial email containing a link. Clicking this link validates the user's email address before the request is processed.
Note: To enable users to request a workspace using a link on the Login page, you must choose Request or Email Verification. If you select Manual, no link appears on the login page. How is yours set up?
As to the first original question (How do I "ensure that giving multiple workspaces access to the same schema is permitted"?), I still do not know.Whether it is permitted or not is a decision made by the apex site administrator who approves/declines workspace requests. Whether it ought to be permitted is a different question and is really same as your second question which involves issues you said you are now starting to understand better. So I think we've covered your original questions. If not, please elaborate.
As to the last subject (How did the hidden workspace get created and how do I get rid of id? What happens if I don't?), this happened at work, so I can only tell you more on Monday (luckily...). Until then, here is what I remember. The work space was created, which is proven by the fact that when I want to create a new workspace with the same name, I am getting an error, which says that a workspace with that name already exists. However, I cannot delete the workspace, since it show up nowhere. No hidden workspace got created. I'm pretty sure the request is just in the queue waiting to be approved/declined. In the meantime a workspace with the same name cannot be requested.
By the way, how do you quote some text here? I just put a '>' in the first character position before the text to quote. You can also use the " rich text icon above the text pane.

  • Changing the IP address of the management interface

    Hi all,
I need to make a change to a pair of Production wireless controllers. Basically the IP range that was assigned for the wireless LAN is no longer sufficient. The gateway for the controllers is a pair of Cisco 4500's that are running HSRP.
I need to extend the LAN from a /23 to a /22. Unfortunately the range of addresses is completely different. To make matters worse I have to do this remotely, some distance away!
The layer 3 interface on the switches uses .2 and .3 of the new address range with .1 as the gateway (standby ip).
The controllers are setup as a Primary and Secondary device. With all the APs currently associated with the Primary.
My plan was to change the IP address of the management and ap-manager (both are on the same subnet) on the Secondary controller, I'd then lose visibility of the Secondary controller, then change the IP addresses of the physical interfaces on the 4500's. Confirm reachabilty to the new IP addresses defined on the Secondary controller. Assuming this works, reconfigure the physical interfaces on the two interfaces to ensure the Primary is reachable again, make the IP changes to the Primary WLC, update the physical interfaces on the 4500's to use the new IP addresses and then both WLC's should be reachable. The AP's will hopefully have rebooted and obtained a new IP address from the new range defined for them.
I'm really not sure of another way of doing this, other than adding a secondary IP address to the interfaces?
I also wonder if there is a way to apply the initial configuration to the secondary controller, and if my changes don't work, reload the controller so it goes back to using the saved configuration and not the running configuration. Do the controllers support something similar to the 'reload in x' command like on Cisco switches? I've looked up the reset command but am not sure it achieves the same outcome?
    Any ideas?

    Hi Scott,
Would you do the Primary or Secondary controller first? All the AP's are currently associated with the Primary controller.
We don't have access to the console port on the controller remotely. We don't have a KVM/IP KVM there.
What would be the safest method in your opinion?
    - Make the IP changes through the GUI on the Secondary controller.
    - Make the changes on the L3 switches.
    - Confirm reachability to the new ap-manager IP address and management IP address.
    - Adjust the configuration on the L3 switch so the Primary is reachable again.
    - Make the IP change through the GUI on the Primary controller.
    - Confirm reachability to the Primary and Secondary.
Do the controllers support the 'reload in x' command or something similar? And is the 'Apply' command in the GUI like committing the change to the running-configuration but not the start-up configuration or if there is a major problem I can get somebody on-site to pull the power?
    Thanks

  • How to assign static ip address to the server having solaris 10. i.e. nge0

    hi,
how to assign static ip address to the server having solaris 10. i.e. nge0 i.e. 192.168.3.125 ipshold be persistantt across reboots. what steps do i need to follow to put all information including gateway, netmask etc..Also i want to integrate one init script ..can i integrate it using /etc/init.d/<service name> like linux. and do chkconfig on it?i am not getting complex procedure of SPF and FMRI etc..can u help me?

Create a file in your /etc directory called hostname.nge0. Add the hostname of your system to this file. In your /etc/hosts file, assign the static IP address you want to the same hostname. You can then disable and enable the network-physical service to configure the network interface:
    svcadm disable network-physical
    svcadm enable network-physical

  • What happens on iCloud (ex. contacts) when multiple family members use the same Apple ID?

What happens on iCloud when multiple family members use the same Apple ID?  For example if we all choose to use iCloud for contacts, are they all merged together?  We use the same Apple ID so we can use find my iPhone to keep track of the whole family.

Of course if you are both connected to the same iCloud account you have the same contacts - what did you expect?. The contacts live on the server and are read from there by the devices; so as you've both managed to sync your contacts up to iCloud they are now inextricably mixed. You can only delete your contacts by deleting individual ones, and doing that will delete them from your phone as well.
You can only unravel this by
    1. In the iCloud contacts page at http://icloud.com, select all the contacts, click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.
    2. Sign out of System Preferences>iCloud
    3. Create a new Apple ID and open a new iCloud account with it for your own use.
    4. Import the vCard back into the iCloud contacts page.
    5. Go to http://icloud.com and sign in with the original ID. This is now his ID. Work through the contacts individually deleting the ones you don't want him to have. When done sign out and advise him to change his password.
    6. Go to the new iCloud account and delete his contacts individually.
Of course if you have also been syncing calendars and using the same email address there are problems with doing this.

  • How do i set up multiple iCloud accounts on the same mac?

how do i set up multiple iCloud accounts on the same mac?

Interesting - I was sure I'd seen a note somewhere that it was only Mail, but this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4020
    does say
Your secondary iCloud accounts can be set up and viewed in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars on your iOS device, or Apple () menu > System Preferences > Mail, Contacts, Calendars on OS X Lion. You may choose to do this if you have a second iCloud account and need to access its Mail, Contacts, or Calendar data.
Note: While you can configure multiple iCloud Mail accounts in iOS, Push mail will only work for the primary iCloud account in iOS. Secondary account(s) will check for mail based on the settings in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data.
It's not something I can test - I suppose the second account's data gets added to the lists in iCal and Address Book?
