  • Assign Client to a logical system

    Hi,
How can we proceed in the below case
    1) Same host is r/3 and xi system.
    2) client 000 is assigned to SAP AG konzern..default.
    3) i create a logical system for the xi system...SAP_LS_XI, what should be the client for this logical system ? what settings do i have to make for this..
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards
    Ravi

If this is a brand new installation of Netweaver then you probably will use the password that you set as the "master" password.  You can use DDIC / "master" pass combination to log into the new client.
Alternatively, you can go to the following location on your server:
    /usr/sap/SID/SYS/profile
and edit the file DEFAULT.PFL so that it contains the line:
    login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 1
Stop your SAP system and then restart it.  When you create a client with this setting it will automatically make the default login SAP* and password = pass for new clients when you create them.

  • Re: Assign Logical System to Client

    Hi Guys,
Currently our BI client 100 is connected to ECC client 140. Now I want to connect BI client 100 to e-recruiting client 180.
How to do this?  How to assign same client to different logical systems?
    Regards,
    Anand

first i created logical sytem for erecruiting.
for BI the logical system already defined as it is already conected to SAP ecc.
Second step using tcode SCC4, now how to assign the logical system of e recruiting to BI client 100.
Already BI client 100 is assigned to SAP ecc logical system.
Its not allowing me to define another logical system for same client.
Am i doing the right step?

  • Configure logical systems

    Hi,
I have shipping data in 4.6c and they migrated to ECC6.0 . In that my requirement is i have to cofigure logical systems using we20 T.code and By using Inbound Parameter i am providing Message type and Process Code.
Regarding this my question is it necessary to assign process code to function module in ECC6.0 OR when i mention process code it will take automatically ?
if how can i configure process code to function module?
    Thanks
    vijay

    Hi Manpreet
At the R/3 system the partner profile should be maintained for both the third parties.
for creating the partner profile go to transaction we20, give the
partner number :your logical system name or customer number or vendor no
    partner type:LS(logical system)or ku(customer)OR LI(vendor)
give the message type in the outbound parameters
after this double click on the message type and give the login deatils for the RFC destination define the port and all
if you still have problem please reply back
    Thanks

  • Configuring ALE Logical Systems and Partner Profiles

    hi,
Trying to build a scenario which deals with two third party systems transfering XML file from one to another. Sender is using a file adapter. Reciever is using an Idoc adapter. However the pre-requisite mentioned for this exercise are that ALE logical systems and partner profiles must be configured (these steps are not outlined in the exercise) . Could i get help on what steps i need to carry out for sender/reciever to configure logical systems and partner profiles.

  • Email setup: cannot change port number

So I created an account here just to express my frustration with how blackberry handles email setting. My grilfriend got a blackberry just because it's free (big mistake, i should have told her to take an iphone instead). Now she wants to check her email from the device. Her school email server uses a non-standard port number (google apps email uses port number 993 for imap server). I googled and followed the trick to enter a wrong password so that I could be taken to the advanced email setting screen. However, even in that screen I only have the option to manually enter the email server (imap.google.com). There is no option to enter the port number. It looks like that option existed in the past but RIM has now assumed that every email server uses standard port number (110, 113) and totally removed that option. This is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. Why don't you let us manually enter the port number when the system fails to find the right one? All other email clients let us do that (outlook, thunderbird, and heck even iphone). This is epic fail from RIM here.

Thanks Xavier. You  brought me very close to the answer.
Now only one trouble is there.
I can maintain entries in the table, and it will take host and port from here.
    Port is okay.
But for load balancing, sometimes my host is like this:
    abc1234.xyz.com.sg
My actual host which is doing load balancing is : abc.xyz.com.sg
So if incoming URL is like this: abc1234.xyz.com.sg:100, I want it to change to abc.xyz.com.sg:200.
All seems well, but there is this line of code: '
        LOOP AT httpurlloc ASSIGNING <httpurlloc>.
If specified, match string against (possible wildcard '*' in) table.
CHECK application IS INITIAL OR <httpurlloc>-applicatn IS INITIAL OR application CP <httpurlloc>-applicatn.
CHECK for_domain  IS INITIAL OR <httpurlloc>-for_domain IS INITIAL OR for_domain  CP <httpurlloc>-for_domain.
CHECK host_header IS INITIAL OR host_header CP <httpurlloc>-host.
The last line gives host header as abc1234.xyz.com.sg. So if I maintain my host as abc.xyz.com.sg, it does not go ahead.
I cannot maintain abc1234.xyz.com.sg. Now I am stuck.
Can advise how to go about it?
    Thanks in adv.

  • BI 7.0,  BDLS is not converting all logical systems for datasources

    Hello all,
We have refreshed an ECC system, and during the post steps in BI, we were running into issues.
We've ran BDLS to convert the logical system from ECCCLNTXXX to ECCCLNTYYY, but it's was not converting for several datasources.
One in particular was causing several problems, and terminating the conversion.
0FC_CI_01.  It is still hanging on to the old logical system.  BDLS terminates with the following information:
    Short text:
Active version of emulated 3.x DataSource 0FC_CI_01 cannot...
Basically, the exact symptom of Note 936644.
Eventually, through a series of trials, we discovered we could assign non-active sourcesystem/logical system combinations to the objects.  As a result, we deleted the source systems entirely, ran BDLS to the ECCCLNTYYY, then recreated the sources.
This finally worked.  What I need now is a root cause.  Why would BI refuse to change the logical system of an object to an active one, but have no problem with an inactive?

    Mike,
After running BDLS, you need to replicate the source system in BW, change the contents of the target host and fields for all R/3 and Data Mart(note 184754). Update the target BW system name in table T000 using SM30. Change logical system name in all BW tables using BDLS (note 325525)
Refer to the below doc for detail. Also refer to note 886102.
Below note talks about similar issue.
How to change all infosources to the new source system automatically
    Hope this helps.

  • Setup SCC4 ( logical system)???

    Hi all,
I couldn't setup logical system for the test system because the production & test systems use the same client key (for example:100). The logical system for production is setup already and use 100 for the client key.
    Any suggestion?
    Thank you

    Hi Suneel!
IT it not advised by sap to assign a client to multiple Logical systems . I am  posting the excerpt from SAP IMG for Logical system node.
    <b>Logical system</b>
The distribution of data between systems makes it necessary to identify each system as a unique logical system.
A logical system is an application system in which the applications are coordinated to work in one common database. In SAP terms, a logical system corresponds to a client.
The logical system is important in the following SAP areas:
o   Communication between two or more logical systems
ALE business process (e.g. Cost Center Accounting): defines the system in which a particular application is running. Only in this system can master data can be changed.
Business Object Repository: The name of the logical system in which an object is located is always contained in the key of that Workflow object.                                                             In the following steps, you must define each client as a logical system by first of all defining logical systems and then assigning the clients to the corresponding logical systems.
    <b> Note  </b>
<b>Assignments must be unique (that is, one client can only be assigned to one logical System.</b>
o   More than one client must never be assigned to the same logical system.
o   The logical system must be unique across the company. It must not be used by any other system in the ALE network.
The same applies to pre-production systems and production systems: the pre-production system must be assigned to a different logical system from the production system.
o   If the logical system of a document reference is not initial and is different from your own system, the system assumes that the document is located on another system.
    <b>Recommendation </b>
Ensure that the assignment of IDs with the authorization to maintain  logical systems is monitored (that is, only one person should have   authorization to do this).
Hope it makes the things clear
    with regards

  • Confusion on Logical System (Idoc)

    Hi Guru's
    Please help me out
I have two SAP System  : ex SAP A client 100 and SAP B clint 200.
My Sender system is SAP A(100) and Reciver SAP B(200)
I have to do ALE configuration. I got stuck in SALE Transaction is Client assignment.
As i have to define Logical system for Both SAP A and SAP B.
But in Assignement part what should i do
Should i assign Logical system of SAP A( 100) to client 100 or 200?and what should i do for Logical System of B?
I hope i need to assign the Logical system of both system in SAP A to some client.
    Regards
    RJ

    Hi,
    Find the steps below.
    1.Go to SALE transaction
2.Define Logical system (Use only the existing Logical systems).
3.Assign client to the logical system. (Never change the existing assignments).
4.Define target systems for RFC calls. (We can do this using SM59 also).(Always maintain same names and descriptions for RFC destinations like Logical system.)
    Example:
           Logical system in 100: LS_100
RFC destination in client 200 should also be LS_100
           Logical system in 200:  LS_200
RFC destination in CLIENT 100 should also be LS_200
For a better practice always maintain both RFC destinations  in both sending and receiving systems.
    Hope this helps.

    SuryaD.

  • Change WOL Port number for clients

    Hi All
We want to implement in our environment WOL functionality , for WSUS deployment and scheduled OSD deployments
We cannot unfortunately implement the default UDP port 9
My question is how can we change that default port on the clients?
I know that we can change the port on the primary server -> Site configuration -> Sites -> Properties primary site server -> tab
Port and here we can change the port number of Wake on Lan
For the client I noticed that there is a client setting -> Power Management -> Wake on Lan port Number (UDP) but that number is grayed out and set to 9
Also when I create a custom Client Setting that port number is grayed out and set to 9
How can I change that port number for the client?
    Thx in advance
    Regards,
    Johan

The port number in Client Settings/Power Management is grayed out because "Enable wake-up proxy" is disabled. When you enable it, it becomes available. Be aware that wake-up proxy and wake on lan is 2 different things. (Beware mac address flapping)
To change the Wake On Lan port go to, primary server -> Site configuration -> Sites -> Properties
primary site server -> tab  Port.
Wake On LAN port number (UDP)
For System Center 2012 Configuration Manager SP1 and System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager only:
Keep the default value of 9, unless you have changed the Wake On LAN (UDP) port number in the site Properties, Ports tab.
    Important
This number must match the number in the site Properties. If you change this number in one place, it does not automatically update in the other place.

  • Logical systems assignment when SRM and ECC are on 2 different servers

    Hi SRM guru's,
What is the standard practice for Logical system creation and assignment when  ECC and SRM are on 2 different servers.
I could not able to find which i created a logical system  in SRM server which i created in ECC
    Same for the ECC also.
how do i assign logical system of SRM to ECC
    vice versa.
    your prompt response is appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi Sai,
Logical System Naming/Creation procedure is not dependent on the servers but it is just a logical representation of a system.
As you are trying to name logical systems for ECC & SRM, please follow the below procedure which is usually recommeded by SAP and followed.
    Logical System : <SID>CLNT<Client Number>
For Example if you have a client 300 in system DE0 (also called SID), the logical system name will be DE0CLNT300. And it will be same for SRM system.
You can refer the below document which eplains the creation of logical system and RFC destinations etc
    http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/CABFAALEQS/CABFAALEQS.pdf
Note: Only while configuring the RFC Destination, the servers will play a crucial role.

  • "Logical System"  &  "Assign Logical System to Client"

    Hi Experts,
I'm new to Basis, I have the following systems installed:
    1. EBP and SUS are installed in same server with different client:
        EBP:  E01 with client 100
        SUS: E01 with client 200
    2. ECC system is installed at a separate setver
        ECC:  D01 with client 100
My question is, in EBP client  which logical systems and client assigments need to be done?
What I confused is,  for the EBP and ECC they have same client number 100,  in EBP client , the client number 100
should be assigned to EBP or to ECC?
    Kindly please guide.
    Thanks and best regards
    Jack

    Hello Jacky,
You can assign the client number 100 to EBP and ECC systems, it doesn't create any problem. Because when you logical system in EBP, you need to create two logical systems one for EBP and ECC, but you need to assign client 100 to EBP only, same goes to the other side also.

  • How to Assign Logical System to a Client in SALE Transaction

    Hi ABAP/EDI Specialists,
1How to Assign Logical System to a Client. In the SALE transaction window.
I didn't see any Receiving and Sending Systems(Tree). But I can see Logical Systems. In the Definition and Assign Subtree are there. I created two Logical Systems STUD_S and STUD_R. When I executed Assign Logical Systems. I got a window, Where I can see a list of Clients. I got confused, how to Assign those Two Logical Systems to Client 800 and 810. Finally I double Clicked on each client and in the next window. I changed the Logical System to STUD_S for Client 800 and Logical System STUD_R for client 810. and saved them.
    Is this procedure correct???
Why I need this is, While generating partner profiles in ALE Model (BD64), I am getting no list at all. When I executed I got no list.
"No messages have been defined for the selection conditions in the Model"
I got struck at this point.
Please help me to come out of it.
    Thanks,
    Chinna

    Hi Chinna,
Thanks for such a valuable information. I am able to move further. But i got struck while generating parntner profiles from ALE distribution model.
    Log For Partner Profile Generation:

Partner ZVK_SS_820 as partner has been Created (Receiving System)
    Port:
    Port Cloud not be Created
RFC destination ZVK_SS_820 not specified for system ZVK_SS_820
Enter the RFC destination and Restart the generation
It is not recognizing the RFC port, even though i followed all the steps correctly.
While creating RFC destination, can someone tell me How to fix the above error and what is the Client No, Username and Pasword i have to give.
    Thanks
