Assigning privileges to default groups

When I'm creating a user (using Workgroup Manager) and am assigning privileges to administer groups, the default group "windows computers" doesn't show up. Actually, only the groups I've created in Workgroup Manager show up. I'd like to assign administrator privileges to these computers to some of my user accounts on the network, but not necesarilly make the user a Domain Administrator.
Does anyone know a way to do this?

Hi,
SAP uses the wage type group concept to group wage types that have similar characteristics with regard to payroll. You must assign all wage types to a wage type group. This is also true for user-defined wage types.
You have to assign wage types to wage type groups so that you can work with the Implementation Guide (IMG). In the Implementation Guide, you only perform wage type maintenance for the wage types required in that particular section of the IMG. You select these wage types according to Wage type group. This means that you can only use the IMG to maintain wage types that have been assigned to a wage type group. In other words, if the wage types have not been assigned to a wage type group, they do not appear in the wage type maintenance in the IMG.

  • "Assign Collection Groups to Segment" - Disable Default Group Option.

    Hi,
I am using the SAP FSCM Collections Management module. I have a requirement in the following:
    "Assign Collection Groups to Segment"
I don't want to have a Default Group in a particular segment. The Default Group is a standard SAP feature.
I would like to disable it, does anyone have any experience with the Field Status Groups in Collection Management, or is there any way this can be disabled.
Do let me know at the earliest.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bhairav Naik.

    Hi Bhairav,
In our situation, we were unable to systematically determine which group/processor should be assigned for new customers.  So, I created a group called "New" and made that the default.  The A/R Manager is notified when a new customer is created.  It is her responsibility to update the collections profile on the business partner.

  • SQL to Find Default HomePage Assigned to Default Group

    SELECT

    FROM ods.ds_attrstore u, portal.wwsec_group g
    WHERE portal.wwsec_api.get_defaultgroup(UPPER(u.attrval)) = g.id(+)

    ORDER BY 1,2
We use the above query to find what default group our users are assigned to. I am looking for a query to run to find the Default Home Page assigned to each of our Default Groups
I currently have to manually open each group through the Portal Group Profile to see the default home page assigned, I was just hoping there was a script that I could create a report from.
    Thank you

  • Default Group Ownership and Permissions

All new files created by a standard user (User1) have group assigned as "staff" and group permissions set to "Read only."  How do I change the default group and ownership permissions for newly created files?
Said another way: I want new files created by User1 to have group = "Accounting Group" and group permisions = "Read & Write".

You can accomplish what you want to do by using ACLs. First go to System Preferences -> Users & Groups, and make a new group called "accountinggroup". Add the users you want to the group.
You will then need to make a folder in which to store all the files to be shared with this group. Put it in some easily accessible place like in /Users/Shared.
Then log in to an admin account and open Terminal. Paste in all of this and the press return:
    sudo chmod -R +a "accountinggroup allow delete,chown,list,search,add_file,\
    add_subdirectory,delete_child,file_inherit,directory_inherit" \
Then drag the folder into the Terminal window and press return again.
From then on, any file that is newly created in or copied to any location within that folder hierarchy will have read and write privileges for all users in accountinggroup.
    You sir are a genius.
I have been trying to utilise a users iMac a "central file storage" for a small business client (all new Lion Machines). I was having so many issues with Lion's POSIXs permissions and also Lion's new versions feature.
Every time users saves files to the shared folder they would inherit permission from the computer that created the file. Thus is another user logged on and opened the file it would be 'Locked' and have to be duplicated or the users would have to manually edit permission using 'Get Info'
I have applied the ACL via terminal and now it works like a dream! All files have that are put into the shared folder have a group with 'custom' permissions and any one can use and modify the files, provided they have log in credentials.
The only trap i would warn people of is do not use typical group names like "Staff", "workgroup" etc. I found that using those was problematic. I opted for employees.
    Thanks again Király

  • How to set default group in EXS24 patch?

    Hi,
This question is about the EXS24 sampler in MainStage 3.   I'm in no way an EXS24 expert, so I'm hoping this is an easy one - I can't find it in the manual anywhere though.  I'm working with some EXS24 patches that have been supplied to me for a live project, reproducing the recorded version using those patches.  They are set up with keyswitches to select sample groups to allow the use of different articulations.  The question I have is how to set the default group - so that every time the patch loads (for example) it selects the legato articulation group, instead of defaulting to staccato as it does at present.  I've thought about scripting MainStage to send the keyswitch on load of the patch but that seems like a lot of effort to fix something that surely must be an easy fix I'm missing.  From what I can tell, the last group defined is the one that loads automatically - but I can't find any way of changing the order of the groups - I can sort the view, but that makes no difference to the behaviour.

    Hello Gaurav,
If I understood correctly, Your requirement is to update People Group segments based on employee category.
Basically you need to update people group values based on employee category before insert into assignment table.
You can acheive this using Dynamic Trigger on Assignment Table.
you need to change the new.people_group_id along with other segment values in this trigger logic.
Following articles will help you steps on how to create dyanamic triggers.

  • Default group(example P+L result) in Financial statement version

    Hello everyone.
    I have question.
    I see in financial statement
    version. transaction code OB58.
there are default group such as Asset,
    P+L result
how can I configure these group ? what transaction code to
    edit group and display ?
    please advice.

    Hi,
When you create the FSV in transaction code OB58, these nodes get automatically generated and you can not directly configure any items or any accounts against these groups. If you want to use thses groups, you need to first define your items and then reassign these automatically generated items against those configured items which you will create. You can define your item first by clicking on the "Create Item" option. When you create this option place your cursor on the FSV. After that you can reassign the automatically generated items, under your configured items. Next you can assign the GL accounts again those items. Please check the screen shots below where first I have created one item called BS. Then I have reassign the "Asset" which were automatically created under BS. Then I have assign GL account range against "Asset" by taking reference from OBD4.
The item BS is created by selecting the option "Create Items". After that selected the item "Assets" by clicking on the button . Then place the curson on BS and click on the button . The following screen will open.
Group Asset is assigned under BS. Then click on the BS and choose the option Assign Account to assign the GL range.
    Finally the GLs are assigned.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
    Regards,

  • Where is the default group information stored for a portal user?

    Hello -
There is a field in the WWSEC_PERSON$ table called DEFAULT_GROUP, and it is populated with an ID from the WWSEC_GROUP$ table but it seems like there is more to the overall picture here.
If I try to manually update a users group via SQL,
    UPDATE WWSEC_PERSON$ SET DEFAULT_GROUP = 318 WHERE USER_NAME = 'XXXXXXX'
Then check the portal profile for the user 'XXXXXXX' I do not see their 'Default Group' as being updated. (However the default group is in effect because these users are sent to the correct group when they log in.
What do I need to modify for the group name to show up for the user on their profile page?

  • How to set "Make this group privileged" property for group?

There is a group property which is
shown as a checkbox in OID Console and
described as "Make this group privileged. Enabling this option will allow you to perform the assignment of privileges to this group. Non privileged group cannot be associated with any privilege.".
How to set this property programmatically using Portal PL/SQL API ?
    Thanks

    nina91x,
It sounds like you have two elements for each crane and forklift service, namely, a labor component that perhaps prepares, delivers, services, etc. each piece of machinery and a material element which is the machine itself. You could create labor and materials
resources to correspond to each of those elements, but Project doesn't allow you to set a max on a material resource, so creating a material resource for the cranes and forklifts probably isn't going to work.
What you really need, at least as I interpret it, is a combination schedule (to track your labor) and a spreadsheet (to track your machines). I suggest you only list the labor elements as performance tasks in your schedule. For example, under the Support
summary line, you might have separate tasks for, Service cranes, Prepare cranes for delivery, Deliver cranes, Retrieve cranes, and likewise for the forklifts. Then, instead of creating or assigning the machines as a resource, customize a couple of extra fields
(e.g. Text1 and Text2) to track the number of machines that are used and available. For example, if the Text1 field is renamed "Cranes/Forklifts Used", you could enter into that field the number the customer currently has at his jobsite. I would
enter that value in the Text1 field for the Deliver cranes task. The labor for that task is the truck drivers time to make deleveries and it would be tracked as any normal labor task. Rename the Text2 field as "Cranes/Forklifts Available" and customize
that field with the formula: IIF([Text1]>"0","250"-[Text1],""). As data is entered into the Text1 field, the Text2 field will automatically calculate the remaining inventory. See the screenshot below.
Using the above structure you will be tracking both labor and machines and the machine usage will have no impact on progress.
    Hope this helps.

I didn't find any parameters to set the DEFAULT GROUP for the users. I want to set the default group for all my users. I don't want to do it thru portal. Cuz, We have around 1600 users. Please post a reply if you have some info about how I can set this thru code.

  • What are default group permissions supposed to look like?

I'm struggling with permissions under Leopard (I understand many others are as well). My quick and dirty question is: what are the default user & group ID numbers for a fresh leopard client install?
I've only done archive & installs lately so no longer have a test bed to compare from. Currently on one machine user id and group id (GID) are BOTH 501. I think Leopard has moved the default user IDs to 1000 (on up) and the default group ID to 20 (staff).
When moving files between machines at one installation the group is coming across as "Unknown" from a Leopard server. Trying to Get Info on these files and unlocking the padlock in Get Info window will crash the Finder!! So I guess i'd like to change the group IDs so they're consistent on all machines. Didn't have this problem with Tiger.
    Thanks for any help!

OK, so followed the instructions in <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=307128> and things were fine until i updated to 10.5.2. Now if I choose Get Info on a file in any external drive there is no longer a padlock under Sharing & Permissions. It only says "You can read and write" and that's it. No list of owner (Me), groups, everyone. they're not even listed anymore and the padlock is GONE!
ls -l in Terminal gets me lists like
    drwxr-xr-x 6 steve _steve 204 Dec 8 2004 Hüsker Dü
    and ls -ln returns:
    drwxr-xr-x 6 501 501 204 Dec 8 2004 Hüsker Dü
    i don't think i like the 501 501 thing. i'd prefer 501 20 .
anything i should be aware of before changing the group across the board to 20? (i'd also like to change the user folder from 501 501 to 501 20). should i use the dscl command, i used to try to get out of this mess before, somehow?
Permissions under 10.5 has sadly become a real mess! reminds me of 10.0 days...
