Assigning specific ringtones

Recently switched from Blackberry to Galaxy S4. I am a dispatcher for a service company and get texts/emails from our answering service at night and on weekends. Had a specific ringtone on the Blackberry that would wake me up in the middle of the night if a message came in. With the Galaxy S4, I can't get it to recognize the specific ringtone, it comes across as the default ringtone. Any help? These texts and emails come from an email address from the answering service. Is that the problem? HELP!!!

Why did I not have this problem with the Blackberry? Is this a Galaxy/android issue?
When I moved from a BlackBerry to an Android, this is one of the things I miss the most ... I had BeBuzz and custom ringtones set up for specific contacts and text messages and emails - I could tell at a glance (by the flashing LED) if It was something I needed to deal with right then or if it could wait.  I loved the way I could customize the BB.
Android, while it has a lot of apps available, is not so customizable.  I found Light Flow to be OK - it changes the LED colors but doesn't have near the variety of options that BeBuzz has.  You can also set custom ringtones for emails and texts.  A word of caution - it does tend to "stop" from time to time and may interfere with other phone apps.  And you have to turn off the stock sounds and notifications if you want Light Flow to be the primary.  And it takes some time to learn and set up.  You CAN backup and save the settings to move to a different phone though.
I haven't found anything close to BeBuzz though.    https://play.google.com/store/search?q=custom%20notification%20light%20sound&c=apps  will give you some to play with.

  • How to assign specific ringtone to specific contact?

This is probably a n00b question, but is there any way to assign a specific ringtone to a specific contact?  I just switched from an LG Lotus, where I was able to give each contact a specific ringtone.  I'd love to be able to do that with my Style...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Go to your Contacts, scroll to the one you want, hit the BB Menu button, scroll to Edit, when the contact info comes up scroll down to the Custom Ring Tones/Alerts section, highlight the Phone option, click the Trackpad, when the next screen comes up the first box at the top is where you can choose the Ringtone. Click the Trackpad and all of your ringtones should come up automatically, if you want one that is not on the list scroll down to either All Alerts, All Voice Notes, or All Music and choose which file you would like to use. The same procedure applies to changing tones for messages. Your vibration, volume, etc. will all be set to Active Profile as a default, if you want the volume and vibration to be different for a specific contact you can also change these options at this time.

Great tip, kokeropie! I had my E72 for 4 months now and didn't know that one can assign different ringtones based on Groups..   Is this feature in the documentation? I feel that the E72 has lots of features but knowing how to use them is oftentimes obscure or not easy to find out...

how can I assign a specific ringtone to a contact

You cannot assign a ringtone to a contact on a 6230i but you can assign ring tones to the various groups of contacts.
First of all, place contacts in various groups i.e. family, friends, work etc. etc., then assign ringtones to the groups.

  • Asha 200 - How to assign different ringtones to SI...

    Hi there,
can you help me with phone setting? I have Nokia Asha 200 and I would like to assign different ringtones to SIM1 and SIM2. In phone specification on the Web is following text:
Personalisation - Assignable icons, ringtones and names for up to 5 different SIM cards.
    How to do it?
Thank you all for your response

    Thanks Judemoney,
but in SIM Manager it is not in such possibility, I conclude that in this type of phone it is impossible to assign a different ringtones to sim cards. The reference in the technical specification is probably confusing.

  • Can't hear specific ringtones in my bluetooth

I have a Blackberry Curve, Sprint is the provider.
    Bluetooth - Motorola H710
I have downloaded (3) specific ringtones (Rock-n-Roll songs) to assign to specific contacts. I can only hear the specific ringtones coming from the Blackberry, I can't hear them in my bluetooth at all. I hear a standard ringtone coming from my bluetooth for every phone call.
I used to have a Motorola I880 and I had no problems hearing the specific ringtones with my bluetooth. I want to hear the specific ringtones in my bluetooth again with my Blackberry. Any way to fix this?
    Question #2 -
Also, is it standard for the ringtone to always ring thru the phone even when you are wearing your bluetooth too?

Can anyone help me with this????

  • Assigning a ringtone to group contacts

I want to be able to set my group contacts to one ringtone. Does anyone have a suggestion of an app or technique to do this besides going into my contacts and individually setting up the ringtone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for this post. This idea is very important. I have assigned specific music ringtones to a few people so that I know immediately who's calling without having to pick up the phone. Having the ability to apply the same principle to groups would be a terrific improvement. In a previous phone I had, there was the option to assign a particular ring to all the people in my address book. I'll definitely use the suggestion link given above to put in my 2 cents and ask Apple for the improvement.

  • Nokia 130 - Contact specific ringtone

While trying to assign a tone to a contact stored on the phone, the only options available are the in built ringtones that come with the phone. Since it is possible to set any MP3 stored in the memory card as the default ringtone, is there any way I can assign one of these MP3s as a ringtone for a contact?

    jimmyireland wrote:
No,this is just a basic phone.
Agreed this is just a basic phone.
But this is a basic phone which does allow setting of custom MP3 ringtone from the memory card. And it also does allow setting of contact specific ringtone. So it's quite natural to expect contact specific MP3 ringtone from it.

  • Can I assign specific ring tones to certain contacts?

I would like to be able to assign specific ring tones to certain contacts; how do I do this (assuming it can be done)?

My phone has not arrived yet, but I would think you could solve this by doing these things.
Now lets just assume that you have ringtones A - Z
Set the phone to ring all the time with ring A
Then go into your contacts and set each person you know with ringtone B - Z (but you have to do this for each contact IN your phone) and you can't use A because you only want it to ring with that tone when someone you don't know is calling, right?
Then, when your phone rings with a private caller or from some # that is NOT in your contact list, it will ring A because you have assigned all other contacts either B - Z. The only difference would be that if "Joe" was calling from his office and the line out was different than the # you have in his contact, it would also ring tone A.
Of course, if you could download tones, it would be easier, but for now you can't. So, this is the only thing that would possibly work for now.
Did any of that make sense?

  • Assign specific metadata for folder structures in the Content Server

Assign specific metadata for folder structures in the Content Server
    Hi to all,
I working with Oracle Content Server 10g and Desktop Integration Suite and I will like to know how can I restrict or enable some specific metadatas from the default metadata, for differents content folder. This is different from the function: Information Field Inherit Configuration.
    tnks!

I am a bit unclear about your question:
    - do you ask about metadata assigned to folders, or
    - do you ask about metadata assigned to items in folders?
Starting from #2, if you forget about folders, there is standard functionality that you can use to restrict, enable, ... metadata for an item. Read this chapter: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e10978/c04_metadata.htm#sthref288 to get full details.
I am not sure whether you can use anything of this functionality (profiles, option lists, etc.) when you check in a new folder. I doubt it, though. The logic of folders is slightly different - whilst e.g. profiles correspond to "content item", you don't find such a correspondence in folder's hierarchy (why a folder could not contain various content types, for instance?)
Last question is, from where you want to use this functionality - even for items. In 10g, Desktop Integration Suite's functionality was rather limited (often it was supposed that a user will just 'throw' an item to a folder, and metadata will be inherited from folders). You might have to upgrade your DIS to 11g; it should work even with 10g Content Server, but make sure you verify it before mass upgrade. In 11g, DIS should offer profiles, etc. with full capabilities.

  • How to add specific ringtone in messages os x

i remember in mountain lion you could do this because I have a made iphone ringtone.. I forgot how to do it now and can't find how.
Does anyone know how to put a specific ringtone, made yourself into the Messages app for OS X?

    Hi,
Messages 8 in Mavericks is less able to do this than Messagers 7 and iChat versions.
However one sound can be changed.
That is the one for "Message Received"
The setting is in Messages > Preference > General Section (There is no Alerts pane now)
The default is the iChat sound for Messages Received.
It can be changed to any System Sound (they appear in the drop down) and anything stored in your ~/Library/Sounds folder.
To access this folder you have to use the Finder > Go Menu and Hold down the ALT key to see then select the Library.
    Navigate to Sounds after that.
All the other iChat/Messages 7 sounds are in the app and linked to their default functions.
So you have A/V invites, File transfers sent, File Transfers Received, Buddy Available and so on.
You can't turn these Off in the app like you could before.
And some don't seem to play even though present such as a Buddy going Off line.

  • How Can I set Specific RingTone for one person and general ringtone for all?

    Hello All,
I have a problem with ringtone. I want to set specific ringtone for manager in my 99 series ip phone. Customer needs to know when manager calls him, that is why he told me that he wants to set specific ringtone for Manager.
    Thanks a lot
    Bahlul

    Hi Bahlul,
I don't see such a feature on CUCM where you can have a separate ringtone for a Directory number based on the calling party number. Even to have separate ringtones for different lines on the same IP phone you need to play with Distinctiveringlist.xml , but that too does not fit your requirement as it will always be the same ringtone for all the calls on that line. You may probably get this feature through some third party solution but i am not sure if it would be worth it for applying it on one phone only.

  • Assign Specific Payer To Respective Order Type During Spliting

    Hi All,
Do anybody knows if there is a configuration which can assign specific customer number to the order type during spliting in DBM? Example; to assign customer # 123456 to order type 4000.
    Any advise?
    Regards,
    Ab Rahman

    Hi
right now you are able to determine the pricing relevant partner in order type 4000 dependant on the Account assignment category.
You find this under DB;_>Order_Account_Assignment _> Assign AccounT Assignment for Internal order
If you do this you can say in case of inernal order against a cost center use customer number 1234 and so on.
    Than the pricing is ok.
Never the less you still have to type in the Sold to party form the header.
If you want to change this have a look at the screen for Warranty splitt. Here there is a different handling  I think the logic is somewhere in the screen.
    Best regards

  • IT 15: How to find out different cost assignment specifications

    Hello,
in the infotype 0015 (Additional Payments) it's possible to to define different cost assignment specifications (for example a different cost center than defined in IT0001). I already found out, that you can select those datasets with a special cost assignment specification by filtering the flag on the field PA0015-REFEX.
What I didn't find out is, where I can select the cost center (or in general: the CO object), that was defined for that dataset? Is there a special table?
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards, Lulzim

    Hi Lulzim,
The cost assignments are stored in ASSHR / ASSOB and PDSNR tables..
Get PDSNR key from ASSHR table (Infotype 15) .. get details from ASSOB and PDSNR table
Please kindly close the thread by allocating points if this resolves your issue..
