Assignment of Travel Workflow for ESS

Hi,
If i'm using a customized workflow for travel in ess and not the standard workflow WS20000050, where do I make the assignment for it?

After deactivating Standard workflow WS20000050,and activating your customized workflow, you have to assign agents for your custom workflow. Select agent assignement icon in the application tool bar(Red colour icon). Select the template and goto Attribute button, choose General task. After this Agent assignment only your workflow will get triggered.
Then refresh your buffer memory in SWU_OBUF.

Go to SE16 > CATSDB get the workitem ID for this pernr for the date workitem is missing and see in SWIA where the WF item is lying

UWL: Missing decision buttons for travel workflow

Hi all,
We're implementing travel workflow for a customer and we're not able to display the decision buttons in the UWL. We're quite baffled, because we've done this many times before with success. The items appear correctly, but no buttons for approve/reject.
What we have done:
- re-registered system
- manually created the XML file
- decision is working fine in backend (WF inbox)
- decision is working fine with RFCs (e.g. SAP_WAP_DECISION_COMPLETE)
We've compared UWL support info with a working system, and the only difference is that in the working system, there is an action called "GroupAction" which is not available in the non-working system for the relevant decision task.
The StepID / Item Type is "TS99000001"
I've already created an OSS, but maybe someone here know something.
The backend is of version ECC 6.0 SP18 (HR 40) (Ehp0)
THe portal is NW 7.0 SP17

Now due to employee personal problem he do not want to travel. Now He want to cancel.
Can employee get cancel option in ESS portal?

Travel for ESS with WD ABAP

Good morning.
I am implementing Travel for ESS. We implement the business function FIN_TRAVEL_1 for work with Webdynpro ABAP.
We are implementing ESS for a country not deliverd by SAP.
We copy the folder of ESS/MSS, for modify the role of Employee Self-Service and add more iview/page/ to this role customer.
I have two doubts:
1) Have that change the PCD in the SPRO for each resource?
2.) I am in process of designing the ESS Homepage framework for Travel and Expenses.We are onto ECC6.0 with Enh Pack4.
In SPRO, we have got new resource links which are for Webdynpro ABAP.
For Example for resource EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_ALLMYTRIPS_SRV_12,the properties are
Description : Travel & Expense: All My Trips and Expenses
Object name : FITV_POWL_TRIPS
URL Parameter : SAP_FITV_EXIT_OP=CallAreaPage
All other properties are empty like URL of Resource Object and URL of PCD Page.
The Question is:

No offense taken...no need to say sorry. I have never had to implement training and events, so no first hand experience there. As for the time and/or leave related ones though, I have never seen them used "out-of-the-box". Again, that's just my experience with probably 7-8 ESS projects since around 2000 or so. Lastly, many clients I have had either (a) don't like workflow, so remove it (b) don't have knowledge in workflow or resources for it, so they drop it out. But even in reading (SAP books, posts on the internet, presentations, etc), I have always seem them referred to as "skeleton" workflows to be further fleshed out. Interesting that your experience is much different.

Assign workflow for an appraisal

Hi Tai,
To check how the status flow works, please follow the procedure as mentioned below:
1. Create a appraisal template
2. Maintain the status/ Sub status flow.
3. In the status flow, you will have one field called as Person Authorized. Please select either "Appraisee" or 'appraiser", as per your requirement. Also specify the pushbuttons
4. You have to mention the Person Authorized for each statge of process flow.
5. Once the status flow is ready then create youyr template using appcreate. Enter your appariser or appraisee id.
6. Then login using appraiser or appraisee ID (as defined in the status flow) and go to Phap_admin_pa.
7. Select you template. As per the status flow, you will see the pushbutton in your template

Leave Request for ESS Portal WS12300111 Workflow Text

Hello workflow experts
I've been asked to enhance the standard Portal leave request workflow (WS12300111) so that instead of the generic text "General workflow for documents" the SWI2_FREQ transaction can show text with the requester's name to simplify any troubleshooting or auditing issues. For example, have the text show "Carl Robinson's Leave Request".
I've already tried doing this by copying the standard workflow and then placing a workflow container within the text, where the container should have the initiator's name. However, generated worflows do not show any text for this container, just an empty space. For example, current workflows show " 's Leave Request" when I would expect them to show something like "Juan Ramos's Leave Request". When I check the container values in the workflow log, the container does indeed contain the name value.
My suspicion is that since this workflow is not being triggered by an event, but rather through customizing and integration with the Portal, the text is being generated before the containers are populated with values. However, I can't be sure of this since the workflow log shows the containers filled already even when the text shows empty text. Is there a way to test this? Also, would anyone have suggestions on how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for the quick replies.
I followed a similar approach to Maorriyan's suggestion. I created the &NAME& container but it wasn't being populated. Instead I found a similar container under &REQ.INITIATOR.NAME&. This container populated the value correctly as soon as the organizational environment was refreshed.
