Assist me in my critical career decision ...can u?
Hello!
I been through lot of posts about the selection of SAP modules and got a clearer picture of what every module
is offering. I want to consult SAP minds here that which can suit me(SAP module) and even this is right career
move?
I did my bachelors in computer science and later my masters in Applied technologies(where i studied many management/marketing)
subjects with a touch of IT. I realized that business management is my field and though its late but its not still late
to reroute my career, before it goes too late. I have no professional work experience. I wanted to do MBA but my peers
suggested me that i will waist my previous qualification and i should pursue my career in SAP. i studied abt it. Now though,
my background is related to IT. but i dont want my career in development and stuff. Is it right decision to switch to SAP
instead of MBA at this point of my career(hopefully, in future i will pursue my MBA).
And which module suits me considering my background and preference? and Will spending $2400 for the certification promises me
a good job start (with no professional experience in hand).
I'll appreciate sincere and detail replies.

You have a good IT background and combined with the management subjects you have studied it makes a very good ground for you to step in the world of SAP as a functional consultant.
Certification definitly helps in getting a job and also diffrentiates you from the rest of the crowd.
I wont suggest doing an MBA and then entering in to SAP, to become a good SAP consultant you need work experience and (Either functional or technical) and certification, which you will have to do even if you are an MBA.
So go directly into the sudy mode, choose a functional module according to your preference which could be any od the modules, like MM, SD, FICO......and then you can proceed with certiifcation.
With no work experience certification will help you in getting you in a good job. And SAP is HOT these days....so get the most of it...right away.....!!!!!

Check this post, the dial assist is part of the iOS 7.1, according to page 49 of the iphone_user_guide

This user had a similar problem and solved it by switching off the dial assist feature in Settings/Phone/Dial Assist

I recently bought a new macbook pro and set it up using the migration assistant from my mac mini. I can't get the text message forwarding feature to work with both computers. It keeps saying that I only have 2 devices setup, my iPad and my macbook pro. When I mess with the setting on my mac mini, it goes from saying that that is one of the devices to my macbook pro being the 2nd device. I think that something happened as a result of my using the migration assistant and now it thinks that my macbook pro and my mac mini are one and the same computer. Any ideas?

The old computer is a 2.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
The new one is a 2.3 GHz intel core i7
In going over this, thanks to "tallking it out" with you, I did discover the Text Edit problem. Because I've still been unable to get the new computer text size (fonts or whatever) to match the old computer, I did not notice that the curser is now different--the line midway down the curser has to be placed on the line I am working upon, otherwise the edits go elsewhere on the page. Now, with a bit of difficulty, I am able to get Text Edit to work correctly.
If you have any ideas as to why my menu bar and Text Edit type are still so slow, I'd love to have them.
(I went through the process you suggested earlier, re my Trackpad preferences, and found no improvement.) -

I've been trying for days to download Windows support software via Bootcamp assistant but it always fails with message 'Can't install windows software because it is not currently available from the software update server.'
Anyone else had problems or success with this?

Your issue is completely different. You are running Snow Leopard. There is no download for Windows Support software for Snow Leopard, hence the error you see. Snow Leopard Windows Support software is on the Snow Leopard installation disk.
You need the Snow Leopard installation disk or a replacement for it. -

As the title has stated, I have recently installed Windows XP on my Bootcamp Partition. I am in need of the "Windows Support Software". I am assumeing that is the information that has the Drivers and what not that allow me o properly use my Mac with windows. If anyone can help me locate this inforamtion i would be greatly.... Greatfull.
P.S. The bootcamp assistant is telling me that the Windows Support Sofware canot be found.You both would have had correct awnsers, but i have a Macbook that is close to three years old. And i can't seem to find my Disc. The only reason i haven't ordered a new one in case of emergencies is I plan on upgrading to the new OS in less then a month.

DAQ Assistant: Clock Settings (Samples To Read, Rate) can affect signal readings?
Dear all,
I'm totally new to Labview, and recently I get confused with the equipment I'm dealing with.
Technical details:
The Labview version is 7.1; computer operate system is Windows XP;
The equipment has a NI PCI-6220 and a 68 Pin Connector Block to read signals from the equipment;
There are 4 channels in DAQ Assistant (2 pressure reading, 2 temperature reading);
For the first pressure reading, Signal Input Range from 4m to 20m Amps;
Clock Settings are Samples To Read = 5, Rate (Hz) = 20.
Description of the problem:
I use Labvew to monitor and record pressure readings and temperature readings. The Labview configuration was set up by my advisor several years ago. Recently, I found the pressure reading vibrated a lot; for example, 5.01 to 5.05 bar within a second. In order to get a stable pressure reading, my advisor suggested me to change "Clock Settings" in DAQ Assistant from Samples To Read = 5, Rate (Hz) = 20, to Samples To Read = 250, Rate (Hz) = 1000. In this case, she believed that since we increase sample numbers and sampling rate, we could have more data, and thus have stable pressure readings.
At first I could have very stable pressure reading. The last digit (0.01) did not change within 20 seconds. However, somehow after a day the pressure reading became unstable and even worse than previous. (pressure reading vibrates from 5.01 to 5.30 within a second)
This is not the worst case. We found that when we set Clock Settings: Samples To Read = 5, Rate (Hz) = 20, the pressure reading is about 8 bar. However, when we set Clock Settings: Samples To Read = 250, Rate (Hz) = 1000, the pressure reading is about 5 bar. In this case, we even don't know which pressure reading is correct.
Labview records current, and transforms it into pressure reading. Thus my advisor tried to monitor the current reading by Labview, and she found the current reading changed when she changed the Clock Settings. (0.004 Amps (5 bar) when Samples To Read = 5, Rate (Hz) = 20; 0.005 Amps (8 bar) when Samples To Read = 250, Rate (Hz) = 1000)
Since we only change the sample numbers and sampling rate, the average readings should still be similar. However, the reading are not similar. That is what confuses me.
My questions are, if Clock Settings in DAQ Assistant could affect signal readings? If so, how it could affect the signal readings? What is the effect of "Samples To Read" and "Rate (Hz)"? How to determine these parameters to get the true pressure readings?

the Pennsylvania State UniversityA 6220 cannot read a current, it can only read a Voltage, so you'll probably have some (or should have) a resistor accros the voltage input. (normally 50 Ohm for a 0-20 mA signal).
My first step would be to measure this voltage with a multi-meter so you know what the actual voltage should be.
Then I would read that same voltage with MAX (measurement and automation explorer) to make sure you have the right value
Now about the changing of the voltage/current/pressure, how have you terminated the other signals? Have you provided a good earthing?
If you sample with a high frequency (1 kHz), perform an FFT on the acquired data, I can imagine a dominant 50 or 60 Hz (depends on where you live) in the signal that might cause your problem.

Problem tranferring old iPhone 3GS (ios 6.1.6) to new iPhone 5S (ios 8.1.2) through iTunes on my iMac computer (OSX 10.5.8) . I have backed up the 3GS this way since purchase of 3GS. The computer does not seem to recognize the 5S is there -- no setup assist is appearing on screen. Any ideas welcome.

Problem Background : Want to make the most of my previous SAP Technical Experience and work in a marketing role.
Experience/Qualification:
Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science)
4.5 years of experience in SAP ABAP HCM
MBA in Marketing Management (Just Completed)
Problem : Not sure whether this combination(SAP+Marketing) make sense? If it does, what kind of role should I be looking for and in which firms?

If you want to continue with the SAP ABAP HCM experience and wants to be in technical field itself, then your
MBA specialization as such doesn't help you, but of course it gives you an edge compared to others.
If you are very good at HCM domain, probably you can move on to the functional side of HCM.
If you are very good at marketing, you can probably get in to the SAP Presales team where you can make use
of your technical expertise very well.

I just purchased my new iMac yesterday. I finally got Migration Assistant to transfer all of my music (around 65 GB), but ow it is nowhere to be found on the Mac and they have not been added to iTunes. Help?
In your case, it would be better to have transferred the library to an external drive from the PC. Then, connect it to the iMac and put the library onto the Music folder.
You used Migration Assistant, and it creates a new user with the transferred data.
Open > Log Out, and log in the new user. Then, open a Finder window, choose Music in the sidebar and you will see the iTunes library. Now, you have to move the iTunes library to /Users/Shared (select Go menu -in the menu bar- > Go to Folder, type that and copy the iTunes library to it). Finally, log in the other user, go to the same folder and move the library to the Music folder.
After doing that, open System Preferences > Users and Groups, choose the user created by Migration Assistant and press the - button to remove it. This is easier if you have an external drive -

I am a ABAPER with 4 Years experience. I am interested in SAP functional.
Few months ago I completed my certification in SAP FI ECC 6.0 When in my organization i asked for functional work they said only people with Accouting background can be given a chance.
As i had no such live experience in FI functional i tried to jump to another organization in ABAP. In the new org. they have put me in a SD project. I am not sure if in near future i will get opportunity to waork in sap FI project.
Some people suggested me do an MBA( which i can do next year,) , I am not sure if that will help me out.
Some of my friends suggested me to Jump to another organisation and try my luck.
Some other asked me to do a accounting course.
I am not sure what to choose. Can any one help me out.
Thanks in advance.MBA in Finance might certainly help you get preference in job, but still most probably you'll be referred to ABAP related FI work and not as a pure functional. It might still take some time before you can become a full fledged Functional consultant.
The easiest way would be to approach you present company about your aspiration and ask them to staff you in any FI project as a shadow consultant or as a junior team member. This is better than applying as a FI consultant in another company because most likely you'll not be preferred if you apply now. Once you are staffed you can spend 1-2 yrs to stabilise and learn FI. An accounting course will definitely help you to get the basics right in that domain.
Also, you'll have to get to know the overall processes including other departments in a full cycle (like P2P, OTC) and understand their relationship and impact with Accounting. This is a long process but definitely possible, though in this course, it is imperative that you'll lose all your ABAP experience. You can consider if you are OK to start as an SAP fresher again.
Alternatively, you can look at modules like BI Reporting, BCS etc, which are closely tied with FI but require a lot of technical expertise. Your ABAP experience will certainly come handy if you get to work in those domains and your FI certification will be an Asset. Also, these domains do not require you to know indepth Accounting. Due to the size and complexity, you'll most likely be accompanied by fellow FI consultants so that you wont feel you are a stranger when you get in.

I have been working as a oracle forms developer with significant pl/sql development experience for the last three years. I have an opportunity to make a career move. I have two options at this juncture.
Job1> pl/sql developer for .net front end. C# is the front end language. I have no knowledge of C#, I will get a chance to learn C#.
Job2> Oracle forms developer in the retail sector. According to the development manager, I have a high chance to learn Java, JSP on the job, in the future.
I am trying to weigh my options.
I know that most mid-size companies that have forms as front end are making a shift to a different front end. It is extremely important for me to stay competitve in the job market.
I would like to use this post to request Oracle developers/ experienced professionals out there, to give me their valuable opinion.
