Associate ed2k protocol to program (eMule or aMule etc. )

Hello to the to the Firefox team ,
When one click a eMule or aMule (P2P) link , there is no
option to associate it with /usr/bin/ed2k (the P2P program) .
In former versions you had to go in "about:config" and enter a New then Boolean with as name :
"network.protocol-handler.external.ed2k" and value :
"true"
Then again New String "network.protocol-handler.app.ed2k"
with "/path/to/ed2k" as a value .
I have Firefox 3.6.7 on a Fedora 13 O.S. and the classic
doesn't do the trick . How comes ?
Now I get a warning window witch basically says :
(translated & abbreviated from Dutch)
" don't now how to open this address , this protocol (ed2k)
isn't associated with any program "
Only option is the OK button , end of history , no way to
associate , as explained in MIME types etc.. ...
I've no idea , and there seams to be nobody else having
the problem , there isn't anything in the FAQ's or the
knowledge base .
Thank you for the attention ,
Sincerely greeted
Martin

You're welcome

  • How to associate ed2k protocol with emule downloader?

when clicking on an ed2k link in FF7 Alert pops up
" Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (ed2k) isn't associated with any program"

found out this is not FF problem. it is done in the emule client itself.

  • Where do I execute the command in order to associate a protocol to an apllication?

I need to associate a protocol ( shh) to an application ( putty).
I found a knowledge base article that shows me the commands that I have to execute in order to do so, but it does not tell me where to do it from.
so I need to know where to execute the following command:
    javascript:navigator.registerProtocolHandler('ssh','http://support.mozilla.com/value=%s','putty');
I found this on the knowledge base article at:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/The+protocol+is+not+associated+with+any+program#Associate_the_protocol_with_a_program_in_Firefox

On the Windows platform an application needs to create the correct registry keys to register a protocol. Then Firefox will find it via a registry scan. The other methods are for registering a protocol on other platforms like Linux and Mac.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Register_protocol

but the above code is not helping to update the associate node from se38 program.
    Regards
    Sasikumar S
Can anybody help me on that thanks in advance.

    Hi Sasi,
According to what you have written above, You want to update a Z node under a root node.
But in the coding for association you have written a standard node.
Give the name of the Z interface which is created and in that you will have the 'Z' custom created node.
    Try this.
    ls_mod>-association = "Z Interface"=>SC_ASSOCIATION-"root_node"-znode.
    Hope this helps you.
    Regards,
    Sanket Vaity.

    Hi experts,
I have some important data in the ides server for which i want to take backup of them.
I have some question regarding the same.
1.How to take backup/download of an entire module pool program with code, screen, etc.
2.How can we take backup/download for a DB table with its structure?
3.How can we take backup of a search help?
Please give some suggestions abt the same.
    Regards,
    Ashesh.

    Hi,
May be just for viewing, try downloading from SE80 transaction from the others option.
Here just try issuing the print, it will generate the spool.
Now using the spool, download to your desktop as required. It will have all the information regarding the attributes, fields, elements everything.
The only issue is, may be you need to take all the screens separately.
    Regards,
    Santhosh.

  • How do I associate a protocol with a program?

I want to associate the 'cel' protocol with celestia so I can open cel:// urls but i'm not sure how to do it.

    Opera:
Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Programs and clicking "Add". Enter "cel" in the protocol field and enter "celestia" in the "Open with other application" field.
Repeat one more time with cel+http as the protocol.
    Firefox:
Create a .js file in /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.1/defaults/pref.
    celestia.js:
    pref("network.protocol-handler.app.cel","/usr/bin/celestial");
    pref("network.protocol-handler.warn-external.cel",false);
    pref("network.protocol-handler.app.cel+http","/usr/bin/celestia");
    pref("network.protocol-handler.warn-external.cel+http",false);
Or add the lines to ~/.mozilla/firefox/<whatever>.default/prefs.js

    Selection Variables
The following three types of selection variables are currently
        supported:
        o   Table variables from TVARVC
You should use these variables if you want to store static
information. TVARVC variables are proposed by default.
        o   Dynamic date calculations:
To use these variables, the corresponding selection field must have
type 'D' (date). If the system has to convert from type T to type D
when you select the selection variables, the VARIABLE NAME field is
no longer ready for input. Instead, you can only set values using
            the input help.
The system currently supports the following dynamic date
            calculations:
            Today's date
From beginning of the month to today
             Today's date +/- x days
             First quarter ????
             Second quarter ????
             Third quarter ????
             Fourth quarter ????
             Today's date - xxx, today's date + yyy
             Previous month
         o   User-specific variables
Prerequisite: The selection field must have been defined in the
program using the MEMORY ID pid addition. User-specific values,
which can be created either from the selection screen or from the
user maintenance transaction, are placed in the corresponding
selection fields when the user runs the program.
The SELECTION OPTIONS button is only supported for date variables that
fill select-options fields with single values.
    </b>
but thing is u have to maintain para/selection options for ur report.

  • Xmonad - Can't start any terminal emulator (xterm,urxvt,etc)

    Hi,
I've recently installed Arch Linux in Virtualbox-OSE and also installed xmonad. It took me a while to get it running. It is all working fine and I can start all kinds of applications with MOD+Shift+P, but the only thing I can't do is start a terminal emulator such as xterm or urxvt. Neither with MOD+Shift+P and MOD+Shift+Return. When I do this I see a window flashing and I think it is the program I am trying to start but it is closing right after the startup.
Does anybody recognize this problem or know how to fix it?
    Thanks,

  • Is the macbook compatible with PC's programs and documents and etc?

I am switching from a PC to a macbook very soon, and my mom is worried that I will have this macbook and if I'm in a project or something with someone who has a PC, and i need something to be switched from my computer to theirs, or vice versa, that it won't work.

yeah MS Office for mac is compatible with all word, powerpoint and excel files. As for programs no they're not, but Im sure you could find the same program or a look a like for the mac. If you could be more specific with your "programs" and "documents" that would be awesome.

  • I've tried to troubleshoot downloading Firefox but it won't open on Windows XP. The Firefox Update box with the hour glass symbol runs for hours. Then I have trouble even shutting down. When I click on Firefox, no window, program won't quit, etc....

Windows XP. I used to use Firefox and it worked okay. I'm not sure why I downloaded a new version but it won't open. The window that says "Firefox Update" continues to try to load. Hour glass symbol, for hours. If I try to click on the Desktop symbol, Nothing. Then when I try to shut down, it's slow, programs won't quit, or it freezes. I've removed Firefox completely and tried downloading again with the same results. Even with the latest version. Shit. Whassup?

Hi zenithtwc, to test whether this is a settings issue, could you do a three-minute experiment?
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
''Don't delete anything here.'' Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Click the Create Profile button, assign a name like Test731, and skip the option to change the folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
    Can it reach the internet?
When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • Missing text in many programs - Rox, Thunar, Deluge, etc [SOLVED]

    Hi all,
I'm having a very confusing problem. Basically, text is just missing from certain programs. Here are a few quick examples:
    Thunar:
    Rox:
    Deluge:
It's very strange. First of all, this just started happening recently, and I don't think after an update or anything. But I know "it just randomly started happening" is a dumb thing to say.
Here is the info I think could be useful:
-I have the ttf-freefont package and the xorg-font family of packages
-I have updated and restarted since this happened; nothing has changed
-The filenames look perfect if I just list them in the terminal (no newlines or anything)
-The filenames that have disappeared aren't anything special, it's seemingly random (no weird characters in them)
    -The icons are totally fine
-All the things with missing text are still totally functional if I use them
-I thought this was a file manager issue, but it happening in Deluge too, so nope
-I downloaded and tried Nautilus, same deal, but some files had random words from their name appear. Just as bad basically though
-I also downloaded and tried Midnight Commander (a text based file manager) and everything is perfectly fine in it
Any suggestions? This is very mysterious, and driving me nuts.
    Thanks!!
Edit: To clarify, in the Thunar and Rox pictures I just took screenshots of a small portion of a folder. In the Deluge pictures, in the first one those 3 blank looking buttons in that menu should have more words (like "Remove Torrent"), and in the second one, those + and - buttons should also have text.

Cairo 1.12 was just moved into [extra], so chances are this bug will reappear the next time you -Syu. If you're running Nouveau drivers, then the underlying cause of your issue might be this bug:
    https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/29495
If this is indeed your issue, then you need to install the xf86-video-nouveau-0.0.16_git20120512-1 package from [testing]. If you re-enable [testing] and do an -Syu, it should automatically install this package.

  • Which Mac is better for programming purposes (IOS, Android, etc..), Mac Pro or Air?

    Hi,
i would like to buy a new Mac notebook, however i cant decide at all on whether to get Air or Pro. i would like to use the notebook for programming purposes. i would bascially be developing IOS and Android Apps as well as some python and ruby. so which one of them in general would be better for me? which can take a lot of work on it and still be efficient?
    Thank you

You should also ask this in the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air forums. This is the forum for the white and black plastic MacBooks that were discontinued in 2010. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.

  • Access servers using FTP programs like Cyberduck, Coda, etc

Hi there, I posted this question elsewhere, but I'm not sure whether it was the right spot so I thought I'd start a new discussion.
I'm having issues with accessing the server's that my two websites are on.
I've been using Cyberduck for FTP'ing for a while now but this week I bought a new laptop with Mountain Lion on it. One of my websites I use iWeb and the other is through Wordpress, both of which I can access the server (and transfer files) using Cyberduck.
The first time I updated my site it worked. The next day however it didn't -  and hasn't since. Now I can't access the server at all. The messages I get, depending on the program, are usually variations on "server not responding" "connection timeout" "connection refused" "connection closed" and on and on it goes.
I have tried using Cyberduck, Coda, Folklift and Transmitter but to no avail.
I tried a little App called 'ftpd-enable' but nothing.
I've tried all the different commands - like the one for Terminal above -  nothing.
    Rebooted the computer - nothing.
Double checked all the server login details - nothing.
Shouted and screamed - high blood pressure.
I hope someone may be able to help me!
    Cheers

    Thanks for your reply.
I've been in contact with the server administrator and everything works from his end - all the login details appear to be correct and he can easily access the server.
I've tried deleting the bookmarks and opening a brand new connection but no change.
Perhaps I should clarify: After stuffing around a bit more, it seems I can sort-of access the server. I seem to be able to login but once I do what happens is if I try to upload or download a file, it goes through the following process:
    Opening FTP
    Authenticating as 'my username'
    FTP connection opened
    Gaining permission of 'file name'
    Listing directory
    Disconnecting
Then I get the message: Network Error: Download failed. Connection refused. And that's it!
I notice also that if I create a new folder, it eventually creates the folder but then the folder has a red minus sign on it - like a no access graphic.
By the way, Firewall is off.
