Associate level or Professional level?

I heard from a veteran SAP consultant today, that of the certified SAP consultants, only 1% are at the Professional Level, and that usually you would go for the Associate Level?  Is this true?  She is working at SAP now, and she's got 8 certifications.

I've been working in the SAP world for 14 years, and I haven't even got one certification. But my clients and customers are still happy with my work, so I must be doing something right.

  • For Professional level certification aspirants in SAP Controlling module

Dear all Professional level Certification aspirants in SAP CO module,
I have recently passed the Certification test on SAP Management Accounting (CO) module in version ERP 6.0 EHP4.  I have more than 4 years experience in SAP Controlling module. The following are some of my suggestions regarding preparation for the exam.
    1. All the questions were scenario based. The exam tests expert level knowledge and real time scenarios in the module. The theoritical knowledge is not sufficient to clear the exam. Unless you have atleast 5 to 6 implementations in Controlling module, it is not advisable to give it a try.
    2. Detailed knowledge of the system configuration settings about the various courses mentioned in the syllabus is required. One needs a clear understanding of Special costing functions, ERP integration, Transfer Pricing, Material ledger, New GL Parallel valuation, Planning and Budgeting fuctions in various components etc.
    3. The exam tests in-depth knowledge about various integration aspects of Controlling module with other modules. The advanced master data functionalities of other logistical modules like MM, SD, PP, PM, QM, PS, CS, HCM is tested in detail.
    4. Several methods of process and performance optimization of the system are also tested.
    3. Some reporting aspects of BW and BI are also tested. The cross application aspects of the system are also tested.
    4. The exam also tests the real time skills in preparing Blueprints, Business Process design and trouble shooting the system. Being knowledgeable about some of the processing errors and message classes will be of great help.
Hope this information helps you in preparing for the certification.
Should you need any clarifications, please post a reply to this thread and I will post answers.
    All the Best!!
    VS.

    Hi Vikrant,
the pass mark for the exam is 58%. However it may be different. The passing mark shown on your screen on the day will be the correct passing mark.
All the questions were scenario based which would involve high analytical skills and through understanding of the system integration. It would be difficult to tell any specific question. The questions carry different weightage. If you answer the questions with less weightage correctly than the questions with more weightage, you end up scoring less though you answer more number of questions correctly. and it is vice versa. Go through your syllabus and cources and try to concentrate on the topic areas which contain more weightage.
Moreover, the exam is not completely technical in nature. It tests a lot of analytical and problem solving skills required on the job.
Note:Please do not ask the questions or contents of the exam as they are confidential.
    Hope this information helps you.
All the best for your exam!
    Regards,
    Vishnu.

  • Which 'Professional Level' Layout Application

I love Pages and think it is brilliant value for money etc etc. However I'm considering buying a more professional level layout application to make it easier for me to work with professional printers.
So you Pages users out there who have experience of higher end applications like InDesign and QuarkXPress...
    1. Which pro-level app would you choose and why?
    2. What features will I get that aren't in Pages?
I know this area is for discussion about Pages and my question is slightly off topic. I will be googling but I value the opinions of many contributors here.
    Thanks
    Ian

I'd vote for InDesign -- it integrates well with other Adobe apps, and is much more "Mac-like" than the versions of QuarkXPress that I've used before (although I can't speak about the most recent releases).
Compared to Pages, InDesign has a lot of features useful in a professional workflow: much finer control over text and type; more flexibility around professional colour printing options; the ability to "link" images and graphics rather that embed them in the document (allowing for very easy updating of changed images in a document); more capable built-in illustration tools; layers capabilities; and various other pro-level features.
But Barbara is also correct that both ID and QXP require substantial investment in both money and time. Unlike Pages, I found that neither were immediately usable without some background reading and training. And even with many years experience with both applications, I find that I use Pages for 80% of my work-related page layout, including a lot of professionally-printed material, just because I find it vastly easier to use, especially if one is experimenting with layout ideas. ID is more capable, but the price is a far more complex UI.
It sounds like the issues you face are not necessarily around what Pages can do, but how it interacts with printers. Given that, you might first try getting more information from what the problematic aspects are that printers have with your documents, and see if they can be resolved in Pages. I wouldn't suggest leaping to ID or QXP unless you need their more complex features, or if there is some critical function that your printer is demanding.

  • How to improve the query performance in to report level and designer level

How to improve the query performance in to report level and designer level......?
Plz let me know the detail view......

first its all based on the design of the database, universe and the report.
at the universe Level, you have to check your Contexts very well to get the optimal performance of the universe and also your joins, keep your joins with key fields, will give you the best performance.
at the report level, try to make the reports dynamic as much as you can, (Parameters) and so on.
and when you create a paremeter try to get it match with the key fields in the database.
    good luck

  • Dunning Old dinning level and dunning level

    Hi experts,
I have one issue in dunning. the issue is where the dunning history for particular customer shows as old dunning level as 3 and dunning level as 2.
i have checked  the customer master there is change in the dunning procdure. But the document and master data shows the correct dunning level with the new procdure.
so i didnt understand what is the OLD dunning level and dunning level  for the same cusomer. the issue is only with one customer.
I have also checked with old procdure with same customer in table MHNK. there are some notices done. but how come the current invoice shows the old dunning level for the same invoice.
can any once explain me how to proceed.
    Regards
    Ashok

    Hi
Thnks for the reply so we need to apply this note for making the old dunning level and dunning level makes equal after you run the program.
Also one more doubt, since i have observed that the dunning after the parameters entered. looks like this
    Parameters were maintained
    Dunning selection executed, job deleted
    Dunning notice printed, job deleted.
the above doesnt means that they will update the old dunning level right.

  • How to know Packing should be at Delivery level or shipment level?

    Hello Experts,
As per my knowledge Packing can be done at delivery level and Shipment level but how to know at material should be packed at what level?
    Thanks

    Hi Prashant,
Normally we update Matl Grp Pack.Matls field in BASIC DATA 1 of Material Master in Packaging Material Data section.
Based on that details, you can get to know that if this needs to be Packed in What type of Material.
Depending upon your design of Packing you can get to know when should you do the packing.

  • How to start Top-Level Navigation on Level two?

    Hi,
does anyone known a trick how i can start the top-level navigation at Level two?
I make an own frameworkpage and try to set it in the iview properties, but there is not an property for this. it is only for the detailed-navigation iView there.
    For what:
I need this, because i would open an pop-up with an other portal window. I link to the popup with navigation-target=... In this pop-up should only be the content of one role. This folder i have set to "invisible in the navigation area". So the User always see him in a popup. when i start at the default Top-navigation level 1, the user see all the other navigation folders.
    Best regards,
    Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
up to SPS13, this needs some hands on on different parts of the TLN. What I've done this spring was showing all top-level nav targets within a select box in the masthead and then, after having selected one of these entries, the TLN shows just the content of this top level entry. So this is more or less the same. As said, some work to do.
As of SPS14, with the new navigation taglib, I expect this to be much less work; anyhow, I didn't convert the results into SPS14, so I cannot say if this is really as easy as I expect.
    Hope it helps

  • Backup RMAN Incremental Level 1 without Level 0 - 10gR2

    Hi,
I'm a bit confused after some tests.
The Question: It's mandatory to perform backup incremental level 0 before the level 1 using Oracle 10gR2 ?
    On Oracle 11.2 it's mandatory but on Oracle 10.2.0.5 I don't know.
Test on 11.2. If doesn't exists level 0 rman take care about it and perform automaticaly level 0 before level1

    ...Docs said:
Incremental backups capture only those blocks that change between backups in each datafile.
In a typical incremental backup strategy, a level 0 incremental backup is used as a starting point. A level 0 backup captures all blocks in the datafile.

    Hi Gokhan,
    Thank you for point this.
After spending a time studying about this I find out this:
Your expanation apply only in Oracle 10gR1/R2.
Because there is differences between RMAN Version 10gR1/R2 and 11gR1/R2 about Incremental Level 1 and this confuse me.
Oracle 10gR1/R2 run only one backup incremental level 1 even if level 0 not exists .
Oracle 11gR1/R2 run two backups incremental if level 0 not exists. i.e level 0 first and after that level 1.
    Oracle 10gR2
If no level 0 backup is available, then the behavior depends upon the compatibility mode setting. If compatibility is >=10.0.0, RMAN copies all blocks changed since the file was created, and stores the results as a level 1 backup. In other words, the SCN at the time the incremental backup is taken is the file creation SCN.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14192/bkup004.htm
Thats means wich RMAN run level 0 with name level 1. (i.e: Only one Backup) This is confuse.
    Oracle 11gR1
If no level 0 backup is available in either the current or parent incarnation, then the behavior varies with the compatibility mode setting. If compatibility is >=10.0.0, RMAN copies all blocks that have been changed since the file was created. Otherwise, RMAN behaves as it did in previous releases, by generating a level 0 backup.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/backup.111/b28270/rcmcncpt.htm#BRADV89500
    Oracle 11gR2
If no level 0 backup is available in either the current or parent incarnation, then the behavior varies with the compatibility mode setting. If compatibility is >=10.0.0, RMAN copies all blocks that have been changed since the file was created. Otherwise, RMAN generates a level 0 backup.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmcncpt.htm#BRADV89500
Thats means wich RMAN run (automatically) level 0 first after finish level 0 backup RMAN run level 1 backup (i.e Two Backups). This seems right.
