Associating one or more roles with specific Tabs or containers?

We have a basic portal with servel tabs. The goal is to create a group/role that has access to a given tab and all others would not have access. A simplistic example is two tabs, one for Developers and one for Testers. Testers may not access the developer tab nor can developers acess the tester tab.
Any thoughts on how to do this?
(Sorry, standard story, tossed in to this task with minimal support, no time etc... Thanks!)

Unfortunately I already tried all kinds of re-installs (the full list is in my original message). The only one remaining is the reinstall of Windows 8 itself, which I would really like to avoid.
What I find really strange is the time it takes for the above error message to appear. It's like one hour or even more (never measured exactly, I left the computer running).
What kind of a timeout is that? I would expect that, if ports are really used by some other application, I get the message in less than a minute (seconds, actually). To me this looks like the emulator itself for some reason believes there's a problem with
some port while in reality there isn't.
I'll eventually contact Microsoft Support, thanks for the suggestion.

I'm guessing you're talking about new Safari windows are opening up in Windows rather than tabs..
Go to Safari > Preferences > Tabs tab > set the option there.

O365 EWS API - search one or more mailboxes for specific email, check if read?

Howdy All -
Can anyone point me as to how you can search a single or multiple mailboxes for a specific email by sender or subject to find out if the email was read?
I have scoured the net and can not find anything related to this for O365 or even Exchange 2013.

You could use EWS to search mailboxes.
https://msdn.microsoft.com/EN-US/library/office/dn579422(v=exchg.150).aspx. You can easily check the
IsRead property on mail items.
However, I would point out that finding out if a mail is read is somewhat troublesome. How do you know a mail was read? If it is marked read? Users can toggle the read/unread state of a message, so that's kind of unreliable. You can also right-click a folder
and choose "Mark all as read", without ever actually reading the message. So depending on what you're trying to do, this may not be something you can programmatically determine.

Whenever I start Firefox it opens 10 windows with blank tabs

Every time I start up firefox it opens 1 window with the open tab from my previous session and 9 more windows with blank tabs.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and all open tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Error: "One or more sync tests failed"

For those who've had this issue, this may not solve your problem, but it fixed mine, so I figure it's worth trying...
I've just started experiencing this sync'ing problem with my iPod Touch (2G). Thought maybe it had something to do with some new music I had uploaded, maybe a playlist I had edited, etc etc...Nothing seemed to work. Couldn't even do a "Restore" on my Touch since iTunes would freeze up everytime I connected the USB cable. Rebooted, did everything I knew to do, all to no avail. iTunes either locked up, or, on the rare occasion when I could navigate through iTunes with my iPod connected, iTunes didn't recognize it.
The problem? ZoneAlarm Firewall!!!
Why it just started this, I have no idea, but after umpteen things, and none of them working, I was manually closing everything down in my System Tray prior to rebooting AGAIN. As soon as I closed ZoneAlarm Firewall, voila! iTunes "unlocked" itself, my iPod was recognized, and iTunes immediately began "Syncing iPod Touch".
As I said, I don't know if this will help anyone else, but if you're running ZoneAlarm Firewall on your PC (I'm running XP Pro SP2), it might help to shut ZoneAlarm down and see if that solves your problem. It worked for me, and tomorrow, I'll be getting a different firewall.
This is not the first issue we've had with ZoneAlarm's firewall being a bit overzealous...

I need a real genius to help me or an actual Apple representative!

Exchange 2013: This mailbox database is associated with one or more active mailboximport / Cannot uninstall exchange

We have a corrupted installation of Exchange 2013 due to installating CU6
New Exchange server is already installed and mailboxes are migrated over, I am now in the process to uninstall the old exchange 2013 so we can decomission it but I get this error when I try to run uninstall
"This mailbox database is associated with one or more active mailbox import,To get a list of all Mailboximport request associated with this database, run Get MailboxImportRequest | ?{ $_.RequestQueue -eq "<Database ID>"}....
But when i run this command I get an error of" The Get-MailboxImportRequest is not recognized as a cmdlet...

From the error message i came to know few things i have mentioned mentioned below .
If you want to remove the problematic exchange server , you need to remove the existing mailbox import requests.
For that you should need to have the required permission for the user account from which you are trying to execute the command
Just check your user account is having the Mailbox Import Export role permissions .
If you have the required permissions then go ahead and execute the commands
Get-MailboxImportRequest | ft -au ( this is to see how many no of the mailbox import request are available
Remove-MailboxImportRequest
( this command is to remove the entire mailbox import move request)
Once you have done with that , then you start proceeding uninstalling the exchange server .

I'm trying to clean up an Exchange 2013 installation (CU2) which is the result of a migrated Exchange 2007 done last summer.
This installation contained several databases which we are trying to slim down to just one, but I've run into some trouble deleting one of these databases. I've made sure that there's nothing left in the database but the Monitoring mailboxes, but when I
try to delete the database I get the following error:

So, I've found out that I can run "Remove-PublicFolderMoveRequest <Recipient ID\Request Name>" to remove that request, but I find it a little disturbing that we've had that job for 9 months in the background, and I'm unsure of what will happen
if I actually delete that job.
The Target Mailbox is also empty. Shouldn't it contain something?
We want to keep the Public Folder Database in the current database and it should not have anything to do with the database I'm trying to delete (it does not reside there right now).
Any thoughts on how to proceed, and what the reason for this might be? Could it be something that was done while migrating from E2k7 to E2k13 and never was cleaned up correctly?

I'm stuck here trying to figure this error out.
2003 domain, 2012 hyper v core 3 nodes. (I have two of these hyper V groups, hvclust2012 is the problem group, hvclust2008 is okay)
In Failover Cluster Manager I see these errors, "Cluster network name resource 'Cluster Name' failed registration of one or more associated DNS name(s) for the following reason: The handle is invalid."
I restarted the host node that was listed in having the error then another node starts showing the errors.

Then this error shows up when doing the repair: there was an error repairing the active directory object for 'Cluster Name'

I restarted 3 hosts after applying the hotfix. Then I did the steps below and got stuck on step 5. That is when I get the error (image above). There
was an error repairing the active directory object for 'Cluster Name'. For more data, see 'Information Details'.
To reset the password on the affected name resource, perform the following steps:
From Failover Cluster Manager, locate the name resource.
Right-click on the resource, and click Properties.
On the Policies tab, select If resource fails, do not restart, and then click OK.
Right-click on the resource, click More Actions, and then click Simulate Failure.
When the name resource shows "Failed," right-click on the resource, click More Actions, and then click Repair.
After the name resource is online, right-click on the resource, and then click Properties.
On the Policies tab, select If resource fails, attempt restart on current node, and then click OK.

If I only have one window with no tabs, how do I remove the tab label at the top of the window?

Ok, I open a window to my home page. At the top left of the window I have the Firefox icon and next to it the name of the page I'm on. Below that is the menu bar which I use enough to leave it there. And now below that, with no other tabs open, is a tab lable/tab strip/whatever with the Firefox icon and next to it the name of the page I'm on. Below that is the url/address bar which also is usually showing the name of the page I'm on.
I like a clean screen with as little clutter as possible. I usually know what page/window I'm on because I'm the one who got me there. I don't need an additional tab strip for a window that has no tabs open taking up more space and telling me what I already know.
If I could drop the Firefox icon wasting that entire top portion of my screen that would be great, but I'm sure that isn't an option.
If I could put that menu bar on the same line as the address bar I'd be in efficiently used space heaven! But I'm also pretty sure that's not going to happen either.
This new tab strip/tab label though, I know doesn't need to be there because it never was before until I opened a new tab and then logically would have a use for the tabs.
But, since I don't like it and I want it gone, I'm presuming that means that it's new because some person or persons thought redundancy is fun and there is no option to remove it either.
Can anyone educate me in any areas where my ignorance is causing me to suffer here? Give me back my inch at the top of my screen and I promise to not ask for a mile!

With Firefox 23 and TabMixPlus 0.4.1.0 installed, an additional box is added to the Tabs options panel that allows 3 options for the tab bar:
*One is to '''Always''' hide the tab bar. I do not know whether future versions of TabMixPlus will remove that option. I have tested in Firefox 23 and it is possible to completely hide the tab bar regardless of the number of tabs open.
Other options added in the additional box with TabMixPlus 0.4.1.0 are:
*Never

according to the docs... if I interpret them right
getRoles returns roles assigned to the context given, this is wise since it is usualy used to check if the current user invoking the call has the rights in a form, workflow or similiar...
Adding the "accountId" string as a second argument would invoke this form of the getRoles

This variant allows a specific name to be included in the returned list. Used to ensure that the current value of a role may continue to be assigned even though the current admin may not have access to that role.
I believe you should get the users view and get your info from there...

Problem with switching tabs in top level navigation for Roles

Hi,
I've created two tabs (based on two roles) in the portal top level navigation menu. When clicking the first one it opens as it should. Then when clicking on the second tab it will not open, instead the first tab open up again, it sort of switches back automatically.These two roles are basically consists of worksets and iviews(accessing to r/3).
Does anyone have any expericene with this type of problem?

You can move a tab from one window to another by clicking on it and dragging.
If you can't see the tab bar (because you have only one tab open), then open the "Tabs" section of the Firefox preferences and select "Always show the tab bar."

Starting Portal with a specific Tab / iView

Hello experts,
we have a portal with 5 tabs (Reporting A - E). When opening the portal it starts with Tab A and with the first iview in there. But now the client wants the Tab D first which shows kind of a management cockpit. Does anybody know whether or not I can set a starting point in the portal?
We don't wanna change the tab order.

There is one property called Quick link for iviews give a name in that (the ivew u want to see, when u login).
suppose RoleD - >iview d1 you want - so goto d1 ivew in portal content and set the quick link property.Give any name
now while login to portal, add the same name at the end of the login link
eg : http://<servername>:<port>/irj/portal/<name>
so when you login to portal,it will open the role with that iview,
that is it will display role D with iview d1open as you login to portal.

when I configure AD RMS configuration it gives me error that "one or more ADRMS role services could not be configured: AD RMS setup failed because of invalid configuraion setting". The user which I try to install is an administrator of DC and
also the service account is a member of enterprise domain group. When I tried this on test environment it works perfectly but on production environment it didn't. pls help me with this....
