Asus driving my k7n420 so far no blkscrn-o-deth

I installed some drivers I found at http://www.rivastation.com which are listed as being v.1.12 and so far they have worked fine and the sound has been ok in surround mode but I need to do more experimenting they are newer drivers like the beta ones I got here last week.  They have the memory controllers listed with the 430 in addition to the 215 220 415 420 these drivers also included an ide driver which I just happened to install.  I currently show my ide driver as n-force2 ide driver and have had no problems as of yet.  I doubt they are any differant than just using the standard microsoft ones but I am planning to run a benchmark to see.  the drivers were actually on an asus ftp server.  I manually installed each of them but there was an installer.

Audio driver 2.96
Audio utilities 2.97
Network driver 2.81 (WHQL'd)
GART driver 2.78 (WHQL'd)
SMBus driver 2.75 (WHQL'd)
Memory controller driver 2.75 (WHQL'd)
IDE driver 2.70 In The Box
IDE driver 2.97 Full Driver
Installer 2.97
these are xp package

  • Sphinx4 - problem with setting up

    Hello, hope you help me
to set up sphinx-4 to my netbeans application
1- Add all subfolders of the src-directory
2- Add lib/js.jar, lib/tags.jar and lib/jsapi.jar to your project classpath.
3- jsapi.jar is not shipped directly with Sphinx4 but can be easily created by running lib/jsapi.sh (or lib/jsapi.bat on windows) once.
    question1 :
in setp3 I have windows but there is no jsapi.bat ? from where I can get the file
    question2:
I tried to test hello world example with out doing step3, after I run the program it is gave me NullPointerException on (( rec.allocate(); ))
    the hello example link:
    http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/speech/forDevelopers/jsapi-guide/Recognition.html#11644
    thanks

Well you do need the router plugged into the modem and downstairs..
You won't want this in a wiring closet because that would block the wireless so it needs to sit somewhere outside.. that means you need to pick some thing that matches.
You can certainly move the TC downstairs.. that is one possible scenario.. buy an Gen5 Extreme as I suggested and then use whichever is more convenient.. Second hand Gen5 is fairly cheap and will work fine with all the products you already have.
Or buy a new version Extreme or Time Capsule so you have AC wireless.. and as time goes on you can slowly replace the other equipment.. that is also a good choice.
Or buy something from another brand.. Asus RT-AC68U
These give far better wireless performance than Apple routers.. but you will still have the same issue with express . .in that it cannot extend wireless from this. .only your upstairs TC. On the other hand the hugely better wireless of these routers might give you all the wireless you need.
It is never easy to predict what will work.. buy something and try it.. return it immediately if it is not acceptable.. Apple offer 14day return .. other retailers might be different but most will offer some sort of return.

  • Ati driver issue

i have just recently switched from windows to arch, i currently using a ati x1800gto video card, amd64 4800+ x2, and an asus wifi deluxe board, so far everything is working just my video card performance is not acceptable, in windows running WoW i would avg 60fps, with the fglrx drivers im only getting an avg 29 fps in WoW. If it helps im using wine to run wow because i dont see a point in using cedega to run WoW when it gets the same fps and wine is free. Here is part of my xorg.conf in relation to my x1800:
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "aticonfig-Device[0]"
    Driver "fglrx"
    Option "Capabilities" "0x00000800"
    Option "UseFastTLS" "off"
    Option "KernelModuleParm" "locked-userpages=0"
    EndSection
those options were needed to keep wow from crashing after playing it for 3seconds not sure what they do but they did fix part of the problem. Also before anyone makes any smart replies like "dont play wow" or "does this only do that in wow" or "check your wine setup"  i have already got everything setup like it should according to a wow wine setup forum, and its not just wow i also get crappy video lag when playing stepmania which is complied for linux. I have asked everywhere and noone can help me with this, everyone says it should be just fine but its not. PLEASE help

  • Facebook crashes Aperture 3

    Hello there,
The title of the discussion is the very last of issues I've had with Aperture, which until this point I was able to solve by reading Discussions started by others. The short version of my story:
dropped my Macbook on concrete floor with no immediate signs of damage
(a few days later) decided to sync photos onto iPad 2 with iTunes
saw that iTunes couldn't sync any photos from Aperture; looked at MEDIA section in Finder for Aperture library, which did not display anything in it
thought I should open up Aperture itself to see what's going on
Aperture began to crash upon loading
thought that restarting the machine would make the bug go awayrestarting the machine failed due to HARD DRIVE FAILURE (according to Disk Utility and SuperDuper!)
bought a new, bigger drive, fixed permissions and copied everything over with SuperDuper! without any errors
Macbook booted fine this time, but Aperture kept crashing
what didn't help: 32-bit mode open; deleting serialization file; all three rebuild options when starting aperture in Command-Option-click fashion; re-installing the appliaction and the recent updates
what helped: turning off AirPort allowed the application to open; however turning on AirPort AFTER it opened made it crash again within minutes
what helped 2.0: deleting the .plist Aperture file from ~/Library/Preferences
at last Aperture booted with AirPort being ON and generally stopped crashing, but now Flickr and Facebook webalbums were gonesinged in to Flickr from within Aperture and the webalbums came back
BUT every attempt to sign in to Facebook from within Aperture led to Aperture crashing -> happens regardless of what username/password I put in
Now the weird part - when I open a Firefox/Chrome dialog window, go to MEDIA section and select Aperture library, the Flickr and Facebook webalbums ARE VISIBLE and HAVE photos in them. So, FINDER can see Flickr and Facebook webalbums, but Aperture cannot. Moreover, it keeps crashing everytime I attempt to give Aperture my Facebook credentials. HOW DO I FIX THIS?
Please help - this has been driving me insane for far too long now
    Aleksey
p.s. I have all the latest OS X and Aperture updates installed.

    Hi Owen,
Here is the crash log. As per removing the account from Aperture>Preferences>Web - it isn't there to be removed. In fact, trying to add a facebook account there also causes Aperture to crash.

  • Apple Time Capsule and Comcast Internet.. a Relationship from HE77

    Hello,
I cannot believe I have waited this long to ask for help from you guys, but here I am pleading for advice..
I have Comcast Internet, and Direct TV television service.  I've been experiencing major issues with both but I think that I've realized the issue.  My wifi signal with Comcast All in One or the seperate modem.router they tried SUCKED!!! But I'm pretty sure that the issue is the fact that I have 2 digital baby monitors that run on a 2.4ghz frequency, which is exactly the frequency that Comcast wifi runs on.
The reason why I brought up the Direct TV thing is bc I've had them at my house several times because my Whole Home Media Center simply would not stay online, and when it did, its speeds were so slow downloading on demand content.  But, everything in my house is slow, not just Direct Tv.  This week the Direct Tv people hardwired their equipment directly to the Arris All in One Comcast router so that shoule alleviate that issue.
My thoughts are this. I know that my Apple Time Capsule can put off 2.4 as well as 5ghz frequency.  So my questions are:
Can i have both the all in one AND the time capsule putting off their own wifi signals.. The all in one using their standard 2.4ghz for some things, and the Time Capsule putting of the 5.0ghz for others.. If so, how do I do this and not have any issues such as double NAT, and things like that?
Should I just put the All in One in Bridge mode, and simply use the 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz from the Time Capsule to address this issue?  How do i do that? Also, would having the direct tv equipment plugged into one of the 4 ehternet ports on the All in One still allow it to pull internet from it, or should I just plug that into the time capsule as well?
Are there devices that for whatever reason will NOT be able to log onto the 5ghz frequency?
I keep hearing about bandwith this, and bandwith that.. I know I have a lot of devices pulling internet at once including, 5 direct tv recievers that somehow always need to be online, 3 iphones, 2 ipads, imac, apple tv, smart tv, laptop, xbox 360 (which really isnt ever even plugged in)  Is there any reason to be fearful that the bandwith the Time Capsule puts out may not be able to handle this load any better or worse than the all in one?
I will but lunch and/or dinner for anyone that can help me get this working, i swear!!

But I'm pretty sure that the issue is the fact that I have 2 digital baby monitors that run on a 2.4ghz frequency, which is exactly the frequency that Comcast wifi runs on.
That will sure as anything mess up your wifi.
This week the Direct Tv people hardwired their equipment directly to the Arris All in One Comcast router so that shoule alleviate that issue.
Ah.. hard wired.. that is the solution. Do not use wireless for media streaming.. it is destined to fail.
Can i have both the all in one AND the time capsule putting off their own wifi signals.. The all in one using their standard 2.4ghz for some things, and the Time Capsule putting of the 5.0ghz for others.. If so, how do I do this and not have any issues such as double NAT, and things like that?
You cannot turn off 2.4ghz in the TC.. but that is unlikely to be an issue.
    Bridge the TC.
Setup wireless to create a wireless network.. Use the same SSID as the Comcast all in one. Same security.. but use a different channel.. how you will do that with baby monitors x 2 I am not sure.. you may have to accept some overlap. There are only three non-overlapping channels, 1, 6, 11 .. pick the least signal one where you setup the TC.
Should I just put the All in One in Bridge mode
No you cannot do that. You can turn the wireless off though.
Also, would having the direct tv equipment plugged into one of the 4 ehternet ports on the All in One still allow it to pull internet from it, or should I just plug that into the time capsule as well?
That is why the unit cannot be bridged.. you will mess up the TV.
Are there devices that for whatever reason will NOT be able to log onto the 5ghz frequency?
Most old stuff.. only the most recent iphone and ipad are 5ghz. Most stuff requires 2.4ghz.
And there is an issue.. range of the 5ghz is poor.. you need high power wireless devices.. and none of the apple routers rate above mediocre. Even high power ones suffer dropoffs.
To be honest it is not going to fix the basic problem.. you probably do not have enough internet bandwidth share.. but the more devices connected the lower time slice each one gets .. that isn't the main trouble though.. it is the efficiency also drops off. Apple routers have no QoS.. this is important.. some things need real time connections.. streaming media, voip, etc.
Other stuff doesn't .. uploading or downloading email or updates. It is important that a choked system has a way of getting the best out of limited resources.. and that is QoS Quality of Service.
Look at a better router.. I recommend Asus RT-N66U as having far superior range and handling QoS.
You should also do a proper site survey to see how much wireless signal you really have.. but again you run into trouble.. the baby monitors are not going to show up unless they are wifi based, which is unlikely.
Sorry but until you can finish with the baby stuff you are going to have to live with non-ideal world.

Step c) click on the 'add to' button'. However the 'add to' button is missing when i get to this stage. Is anyone haviing/ had the same problem? If so how did you resolve it?If anyone out there can offer a solution or advice it would be much appreciated.

  • IPhone 5c keeps showing incorrect times.

My Iphone 5c shows an incorrect time, i tried a few things including resetting the phone. I have changed the time manually but after an hour or so the time just randomly changes. This is very frustrating and makes the phone useless to use as an alarm clock. I am sure it has to be a software issues but have tried syncing and like i said i have even done a hard reset but all to no avail!...Please help..is driving me mad.

    How far is it off?
    Always the same amount off?
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • MSI GT70 Dragon Edition, Plastic Scratches easily?

After several weeks of using this laptop some plastic covering around the keyboard is peeling off already so i decided to remove it. After a week i noticed that that are already some Scratches around the Keyboard if you can see yours,, it's the black boarder covering up the Whole Keyboard and also the Black plastic matterial covering the Monitor. I also see some scratches on the Touch bar, but i found out that there's a small film covering it up so no problem with that. My only concern is Does this laptop scratches easily? I'm quite disappointed  with the Plastic finish, My late ASUS G74SX's finish is far more Premium than my Dragon Edition. I'm still trying to look around the corner of that Plastic around the Keyboard if there's such thing as thin plastic covering it.. So please share your experience here. if you're experiencing this too. Thanks

@mike_cruz00, MSI is trying hard to offer very good performance wise laptops at those prices and therefore it becomes cheap regarding case and other. For example for GE 2012 series there is very cheap and glossy varnished plastic that it ruins design. Scratches, fingerprints and dust was making me crazy.
Therefore I suggest you to do what I did to mine yesterday and now feel happy. You need to cover those plastic around keyboard and maybe some more up to touch panel by vinyl carbon fiber. Don't worry that your case around keyboard is angled and curved because hot air makes vinyl wear anything like it was born there.
Vinyl costs like 3-4 bucks and it will be enough to cover 5 such areas. If you need more info just ask.
Here is my photo (sorry for quality).

  • How to factory reset my GE70 2PE apache pro

Hi guys after i press f3 then reset, it required cd for the reset...How to reset then?

Might be the issue of all of those combined together. But again, Gigabyte motherboard. No one use MSI? Or Asus? Asrock? So far this tells me that Gigabyte board with this GPU is bad combo..

  • Best Buy baited me and switched up on the ASUS G74SX-BBK9 vs. the BBK11 - not cool!

My question to Best Buy is - Have things gotten so bad in your business that you have to resort to what amounts to bait and switch tactics to get people into your stores?
I am a long time customer and Rewards Zone member. Between my family and my extended family I would say I have an impact on 7 to 10K in Best  Buy business annually (conservative estimate really) as the family tech guru. Unfortunately more often than not I find BEST Buy, really isn't in the long run and I find that sad. Let me give you an example:
I have been following the ASUS G73 and now G74 laptops for the past couple years. I have been interested in getting one because I am a middle aged performance computer nut and will not settle for sub-standard performance even in my portable computer. The ASUS G74SX-BBK9 caught my eye and I went down to the local Best Buy with cash in my pocket to pick one up. When I arrived I learned that the BBK9 is nearly impossible to find but I am in luck, it has been replaced by the BBK11 and it is in stock!. Upon closer inspection I learn that the "new" BBK11 is really the same computer as the BBK9 with a low performance hard drive AND A HIGHER PRICE!!! Please allow me a moment to inform you that when it comes to IT hardware it does not INCREASE in value as the model ages, it actually LOSES value. And it is crystal clear to me that Best Buy thinks:
    1. They can pull the ole switcheroo and no one will notice.
    2. The customer is stupid and has more money than brains.
    3. Specs are meaningless in high performance computer hardware.
4 or all of the above!
But what really got to me was the attitude of the staff. I asked if they could help me locate a BBK9 and I would buy it that second. After a couple minutes of a passive search they said it was impossible to find. Strangely enough it is on the Best Buy site - granted it is now listed as an Outlet item, but it clearly is available somewhere.
It does not make any sense to pay more for less and that makes me sick really. But I will be traveling for 10 days and don't have time to do an online order so I offered to buy a BBK11 but at a slightly better price than the $1249 it was listed at. Being completely fair - I would pay $1249 for a BBK9 in a microsecond if I could find one!!! But alas it has been marked down $70 and is only available in stores if you win the lottery and can find one. I am guessing it is right next the the unicorns and pot of gold at the base of a rainbow in the software section!! Are you starting to understand why this feels like a bait and switch?? The website says it exists, but good luck finding one - just feels like a foot traffic in the store come-on to me.
After a few minutes the lady I spoke with came back from a visit with a supervisor and said, "the price that is on it now, is the price it sells for and there is nothing we can do, and we have nothing else to talk about." I agreed that she was right about one thing - we have nothing else to talk about and I left feeling like an idiot for even walking into the store in the first place. A word of advice from a customer service manger - making your customers feel like idiots is not the way to build a business that will last. It is the way to alienate your customers and ruin your brand reputation in the long run.
Good luck and I hope you survive - but I think you are way off track........

So you are expecting for BBY to stock a discontinued model?
I agree that Asus dropped the ball. They did make an inferior "new" product. But that's not BBYs fault. There are probably a few BBK9s out there, hence why it's still on the website but online stock checks aren't 100% reliable.
If I was BBY I wouldn't have budged on the price either. They are just a middle man and because you want to buy it for less just means they will see even less profit on a razor thin margin to begin with.
This is far from bait and switch as it wasn't advertised, Wasn't put on an unbelievable sale, nor did they upsell you to another product. You researched what you wanted, thought you found it at BBY and when they didn't have an outdated model in stock then the next model was suggested I assume.

  • Problems with Comodo Kill Switch, Windows Services & Bitlocker Encryption on Asus N56VZ

    Hi All,
So recently I found myself stuck in a different scenario than before, and after many hours researching and efforts to fix this I still find myself stuck  yet with a few options still to fix.
    What is the problem?
So as a security cautious user when i first got to Windows 8.1 Pro 64Bit I encrypted both the C and D drive (Split the main disk) to protect myself and my family. Unfortunately that has not been very helpful with the way in which booting and running from
either external USB devices or CD/DVD works, not allowing myself to at all.
My usual security suit I  use is Comodo Internet Security, which additionally comes with Comodo Kill Switch. Whilst using the application instead of stopping one of the TCP connections I was meant to I accidently stopped an Windows Explorer connection.
For some reason since then Windows Explorer, nor most windows apps or services themselves will run. For example msconfig will run but sfc /scannow or mmc will not, whether in safe mode or normal mode.
    What Caused the Problem?
    Cannot 100% say
What I Think Caused the Problem?
Myself running Comodo Kill Switch stopping a vital server connection with Windows Explorer that messed up alot. Or a potential Virus unknown how cannot fully scan system as wont boot externally or run many apps.

    ON BOOT:
Bitlocker Encryption Password & Advanced Settings are accessible
    Bios (password protected) is accessible
Windows Recovery Mode is accessible (Think it is F9 or F10)
Windows Logon Password Screen is accessible

After Log-In Windows Explorer will not run
Task Manager will run, also allows me to browse the files when trying to start new task
    Can run Command prompt
Cannot run any control panel items
    Cannot run services.msc
    Cannot run mmc
    Cannot run sfc

Cannot boot Windows 8.1 off DVDRW
    Fixwin2 will not run
Apps either work or don't whether in safe mode or normal
    Cannot use Windows Installer
What Fixes I Have Tried So Far
Ok so like any normal user I don't want to lose my files. So here are what I have tried so far:
Repair MBR (Repair Completed, No Luck)
SFC /SCANNOW (Returns Error 'Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service')
Tried sfc /SCANNOW /OFFBOOTDIR=c:\ /OFFWINDIR=c:\windows (Could not access drive)
Fixwin2 (Will not run in either normal or safe mode)
Booting using Windows 8.1 via USB (Cannot boot from extermal devices due to Bitlocker Encryption)
Booting using Kali Linux Via DVD & USB (Cannot boot from external devices due to Bitlocker Encrytption)
How do I know it is because of Bitlocker, because last time I disabled it, I could run from external devices
Tried to run bitlocker to change settings (Will not run)
Have used both password and recovery keys to unlock driver, they work but when applications are running on windows the drive is still locked?
Tried windows Automatic Diagnostic and Repair (Could not repair anything, did make a log I am still to extract from the syste)
There are No System Restore Points
I'm sure there is much more information I could post however I will leave it on an ask to know basis, apart from the log files and further information to gather. Below is my list of trial and error fixes to try for today (need more ideas and help please!):
Hiren's 15.2 Boot CD via DVD (NOT ABLE TO BOOT)
Hiren's 15.2 Boot CD via USB (NOT ABLE TO BOOT)
Research into the Bios and Possible Update in-case of implementation of Virus, can access flash utility (STILL NOT TESTED)
Try and get a portable version or a working version of windows installer to try and re-install Comodo Internet Security (STILL NOT TESTED)
    Another way to disable Bitlocker
Anti-Malware / Anti-Virus Scan If Possible to Run One
Bitlocker Repair Tool, will try this also
I have posted this as have not found much info online, usually find it and crack on but this time things are a little more tricky, my priority task I really need to do is remove the Bitlocker Encryption, but if the application will not run... what do I do
    then?
Thanks for your time reading all, Sorry for any poor formatting or spelling.
    Update 1: MMC.exe Error Code
Ok so now have the computer in safe mode, still same as before, no explorer.exe, no services etc... Just went into the Task Manager > Services (Tab) > Open Services (Option at bottom)
This is the error I get:
'The Instruction at 0x785a746c referenced memory at 0x000000a8. The memory could not be read.
Any Ideas on what this error is and why?
Update 2: CHKDSK Works with no Fix
Update 3: Hiren's 15.2 Boot CD - USB Boot still no luck booting around Bitlocker Encryption
Just to explain again, I already have unlocked the drive with correct bitlocker password or recovery key yet the drive remains locked not allowing windows refresh of files of complete install from the windows recovery menu as keeps saying drive is locked

Ok so attempt number two to write this update via bloody phone! (Just refreshed page whilst writing!)
    Update 4:
Problem - cannot run from bootable devices (DVD/USB)
Cause - bitlocker fully encrypted drive stops this working
Repair - Boot up holding F9 to enter windows recovery Input Bitlocker recovery keys to unlock drives
Navigate to Command Prompt in advanced settings Execute following code:
    Repair-bde c: d: -rp 000111-222333-444555-etc...
    (Code found from https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee523219%28v=ws.10%29.aspx)
Note for those using this: It is common while unlocking certain drives to get errors such as: Quote from http://www.benjaminathawes.com/2013/03/17/resolving-partial-encryption-problems-with-bitlocker/
"LOG INFO: 0x0000002aValid metadata at offset 8832512000 found at scan level

Repair Status for Update 4: COMPLETED - However over wrote D drive data so now need to recover that
Problem 2 - windows services corrupted along with windows files
    Cause - Unknown
Repair - wait until system is fully decrypted Once fully decrypted ensure boot from USB/DVD

  • Can you tell me why none of my music will play I had a little box that came up saying all your items are ticked so they will not play on itunes what does this mean it's driving me nuts help!!!

HI there can you tell me why none of my music will play on itunes it just displays a message saying it cannot be located please help it is driving me nuts
    Jan

About 5 days ago for no apparent reason at all, about
7000 songs which i have collected over a number of
years has just decided that it wont play in ITUNES or
in any other of my media players. When you click on
Play over a song nothing happens. The play icon
doesnt even come up on the screen.
Steps I have taken so far are:
1 - Remove all tracks from ITUNES and then re-add the
folder where all the songs are. This has obviously
removed all songs, but when I have re-added the
folder , it has added about 650 tracks back on to the
playlist. These 650 tracks will play. This leaves
approx 6400 tracks that it wont play.
By the way all the songs on my PC are MP3 type and I
have had no problem playing any of them until last
    week.
    2 - I have re-installed ITUNES and reinstalled
Quicktime and that has not worked.
3 - All of my songs are backed up on to a External
Hard Drive. I have tried to restore the songs and
also play them directly from the external hard drive.
I get the same problem when I do this.
4 - I have enabled and allowed all permissions for
the account that I am running the PC from.
I am guessing there must be some settnig or Registry
Key that is blocking me playing the tracks from the
PC. I have also tried to launch the songs in Media
Player and Sonic stage but thsi has not played
    either.
All the tracks are in the folder structure as they
were before so I know they are there. I just need to
    somehow unlock them.......
If anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful as
I dont want to lose my entire music collection.
Also I cannot find anyweher on here that is a Support
number or email address for Apple as this is an
ITUNES issue and they should be resolving it for
    me!!!!
    Thanks

  • Linksys wireless router G problem with ASUS Eee PC 1000H laptop

This is a new laptop with a Ralink rt2860 chipset. Problem: I have trouble connecting to the router at my office. When I can connect, I often get such a low connection speed that the signal drops out and I lose the connection entirely. I have no trouble connecting to other routers. ASUS tech support says this is not a problem with the laptop. The rep told me that some "older" routers have a problem recognizing the Ralink chipset. Logically, if I can connect but it drops out, does this indicate a need for a signal booster? Does anyone know about any related compatibility issues? Thanks for any help; this is driving me nutty!

I know just enough to be dangerous. How is the change the channel on the router changed? Sounds like a system administrator job...

  • Various hardware issues with Asus G73

    Hello everybody,
First let me say that issue I'm experiencing is caused by hardware malfunction I need help diagnosing.
Since it has nothing to do with Arch (or any other OS for that matter), I hope this is the right place to post.
Now, let's get to the problem.
I have Asus G73-JW laptop. It's 'desktop replacement' machine from 2010 based on
Nehalem platform (i7-740QM @ 1.7GHz) paired with nVidia 460m and 8 GB of ram.
It has not so nice 17" 1080p screen and 750GB HDD and 60GB SSD as storage.
Few months ago I started playing Battlefield 3 on dual-booted Windows 7 and native Steam Team Fortress 2 on x64 Arch.
While playing those games weird things began to happen.
First, laptop started emmiting loud, extremely annoying high-pitched noise. After a while noise fades but fans start
running on full speed. Screen backlight flickers (as if it was a recording with an old camera) unless it's set to max
when picture appears normal. Keyboard becomes unresponsive. It works, but it's not enough to just press keys,
they need to be pressed for much longer than usual. Maybe for half a second or less, but enough to make keyboard
unusable. Keyboard backlight turns off if it was on (and vice versa) and can't be controlled with hotkeys.
At that time, I suspected this is somehow related to GPU since laptop was functioning perfectly normal unless in a
game or GPU benchmark. Even really CPU intensive tasks such as building CyanogenMod which drove CPU temperature
over 90C caused no issues. But after some time these sympthoms started showing regardles to GPU usage or system load,
which led me to recognising few more of them and making sure this is not software problem since it's exibited on Arch and
few other distros, Windows 7 and 8.
After laptop goes nuts, it can be normalized either by shutting down or suspending to ram.
During sleep few LEDs that are normally blinking will stay on. After they start blinking again everything will work normally after
waking up (for some time, that is) and it will be possible to wake it on any key. If LEDs are stuck, only power key works.
In the begining it took it few hours or more to become normal, but now 20-30 minutes is enough and same amount of time applies
for both powering up and waking from sleep. Even if laptop didn't 'calm down', it will be silent during wake up process, but fans will
kick in full speed right after. If power cable gets removed out while on rampage, keyboard and touchpad simply die. If I shut it down
without power pluged in, it won't be possible to turn it back on without waiting a while. Whether it's with or without battery, or running
only on battery power, makes no difference - fans keep on spinning as fast as they can.
Even though temperatures are completely normal - CPU in mid 40s, GPU somewhat hotter, I thought something that is not reporting
temperature to OS (chipset or whatever) might be overheating, so I took it apart. After cleaning everything thoroughly, changing
thermal paste and thermal pads, nothing changed besides temperatures which are few degrees lower now. While open, I took the
chance to look for anything that doesn't look normal, leaked capacitors, unsoldered components, but everything looked just fine.
I have googled my ass off, but I have been unable to find any similar reports for this or any other notebook.
As far as logs go, I don't think there is anything to give you except maybe kernel log.
I'm trying to diagnose problem myself (and, if possible, fix it) because everything that runs on electricity is so damn expensive here,
not to mention repair shop services and their prices. Warranty is long gone, and since laptop was bought on US Amazon, I'm not sure it
would have done me any good here in Bosnia.
I would really apreciate any help and if there is any useful info I didn't provide, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance,
    Šaran.

Since few days ago battery LED sometimes blinks red although acpi reports 100% full.
