Asus Dsl-ac68u stats check stability issues

Hello,
Had various issues with
speed and sync on HH5..anyway engineer coming soon, but I got this new router. Can someone please look at these stats and confirm to me they are OK.

The latest DSL driver version is 5.5.1.128_B_A60901 HwVer:T14.F7_0.2 on mine whereas yours is 5.5.1.128_B_A60901 HwVer:T14.F7_0.1 although on the Asus website there is only 1 version so not sure why yours & mine should differ.
I'm far from an expert on these matters but I doubt that an SNR Down of < 6dB or the -2.5dbm for power up is good. My power up is 6.5dbm.
With DLM in effect continous connection really is required for the stats to improve. DLM will remake the connection if it changes anything so leave things alone, too many reboots will result in DLM thinking there is instability and drop the speeds.

  • New Router: ASUS DSL-AC68U with Infinity 1

TLDR; I have the DSL-AC68U and it is not detecting a DSL link.
    Hi All,
My HH5 recently died and I got a replacement from BT but decided to get a new router anyway.
Aware that I need a Modem/Router Combo with VDSL2 support I went ahead and purchased the ASUS DSL-AC68U:
    http://www.asus.com/uk/Networking/DSLAC68U/
Reading many comments from people who pretty much just plugged it in and it just worked I was fairly confident I could do the same.
However the router is not detecting that a DSL cable / link is connected.
I have tried multiple different settings including username, WAN mode, DSL mode everything I could find online but I am simply not getting a DSL link.
I have tested the router at a friends house, although the circumstances are different as they're using a different provider and are not on a Fibre Optic connection - they still got a DSL link almost right away.
At this point I'm kind of stuck as to what could be causing this behaviour and would appreciate any advice.  Also if anyone else has this same router with BT Infinity 1, I'd like to know how it has been physically set up?  I.e.
Wall Socket > Standard Microfilter (Phone line and DSL sockets) > DSL Cable > Router
I ask because the router also comes with a separate microfilter that is 3 DSL sockets, 1 on one side labelled "LINE" and two on the other labelled "PHONE" and "DSL".
    Thank you,

    Hi ng1987,
I too have just got the Asus and it is a grand bit of kit. I have IPTV channels working on my DSL-AC68U. Below is my settings. Note: the DSL-AC68U does NOT have the Enable VPN + DHCP Connection option. My YouView box is wired into Port 4 (I don't believe this matters on the Asus though).
    Choose IPTV STB Port: None
    Use DHCP routes: Microsoft
Enable multicast routing (IGMP Proxy): Enable
Enable efficient multicast forwarding (IGMP Snooping): Enable
    UDP Proxy (Udpxy): 0
Can you confirm you have tried the exact settings above?

  • Asus DSL AC68u on ADSL?

Hello, I am thinking of getting an Asus DSL AC68u soon (https://www.asus.com/uk/Networking/DSLAC68U/) but i need to know if the router will be compatible with Sky ADSL before I buy it. Can this router run on Sky ADSL? I am aware that I may have to do a software update/tweaking and I will do that if required but I just want to know that this router will work with Sky ADSL. And I do not want people posting links to other routers, I just want my question answered. Thank you

I googled the model and ADSL and didn't get a lot of hits but mainly mentioniong fibre but then I found a picture of the box which does mention ADSL so you should be ok. Click the pic to enlarge.

  • ASUS DSL-AC68U AC1900 - anyone tried this on infin...

I am finally fed up with constant reboots and disconnects and not being able to turn remote configuration off, so it's time for a new VDSL2 router. Has anyone tried the ASUS DSL-AC68U AC1900?

Wall space, really. Have grown used to a one-box solution and would prefer that, I think.
AC68U does not contain a modem, so you will still need a seperate modem........

  • DSL AC68u not working with sky ADSL?!

Hi, I am in serious frustration here. Today my Asus DSL AC68u arrived and I've been trying for about 2 hours to get it working. I have 2 major issues:
    1. The DSL line is reported to be "unstable" in the web interface and the DSL light keeps going out on the router itself.
    2. The internet light does not come on AT ALL and when I try and go onto a website it does not work.
Please help, I have gone through the setup process twice, I tried setting up manually and letting it detect settings automatically as well and I have no luck. Remember, I am on ADSL, not fibre. My old Sky SR102 was working fine before I set it up with no issues whatsoever and I don't know what to do. Any ideas? Thank you.

Thanks for the help people but I have doscovered I have problems. Just spent ages on the phone with Sky broadband and there are problems with my service but going to have to wait 72 hours whilst they perform tests and look in to it. Can anyone explain this to me please as I cannot get my simple little head around it.   Sky told me they have boosted my line and I am now getting 7mb, something I have never had and still don't.   I logged in to my router which also confirmed 6969kb and yet my internet is so slow its cringe worthy.   I cannot load Youtube videos or play simple games on facebook and if I perform a broadband speed test with different website they report I am getting around 11 to 12kb. Which is right, was also being offered fiber which I cannot afford but whos to say I wont have trouble with that.

    Problem:
System is highly unstable while it is under high load, running demanding apps or games like Battlefield 1942 ( BF1942 patched to v1.4, DirectX 9.0b).
Time between lockup's is 10-15 mins. Much earlier though if
system has been running for awhile.

Ok, here are the voltage readings from BIOS
    VCore 1.456-72
    3.3V  2.944V
    +5V   5.113V
    +12V  11.437-98V
    -12V  11.825V
    -5V   4.926V
    Battery 3.088V
    +5SB  4.896V
(The numbers after the hyphen '-', indicate a switching value)
The multimeter reading at a molex (yellow cable) says approx +11.79V at Win XP desktop idle and 11.68V under the game. Red cable on molex shows 5.12V while idle, no drastic change under load.
Just curious, how are the general opinions about electrical
readings. should they never go below the voltage they must
feed? Or is there room for some margin the voltage can go
    below?
Havent yet tested changing videocard, will do that. Having no temperature sensors, cant check easily vga card temp.
btw, 'Apic Acpi SCI IRQ' isnt enabled in bios, is this essential?

  • N580GTX Twin Frozr II/OC Stability Issues

Hello! I've recently purchased an MSI N580GTX Twin Frozr II/OC and I'm having the much talked about stability issues (CTD, black screens etc.). From what I've read it seems like the best solution is to tweak the voltage in Afterburner until you find a stable solution and then after thorough testing, request a custom BIOS flash.
Is this the best way to go? I'm presently at work so I can't actually get started right away  but I'd like to have a game plan in hand for when I get home tonight. Currently my card clock settings should be what they were out of the box although I've also read that some cards didn't come over clocked so what it says on the box might not be exactly what it's running at. I can look up the various card details this evening if it's necessary.
Also I'm not super concerned if I had to down clock or if the card didn't come over clocked. I just want to get it running stably

To answer your question about the PSU, while I'm not at home to actually visually inspect the unit, I believe there are 70 Amps on the 12 volt rail.

  • Massive stability issues - Disk Utility repair failed, hardware test failed

    Hi,
I am having massive stability issues. The installer will not install anything, programs are quitting randomly, and it is getting very annoying!
I read through a lot of posts and I have attempted to:
Repair my disk using the install cd: but that failed.
I did a Hardware test: but i had an error relating to fonts (?), couldn't see anything on the screen and I couldn't do anything.
Is there something else I could do that I haven't tried?
I have had my PB for a little over a year and have had no issues like this before. All of these issues seemed to start when I was playing a game and it suddenly just quit; I then couldn't go back into the game or re-install the game.
    Help!!
    12" Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   768 RAM

    Hi, Dan.
You wrote: "Repair my disk using the install cd: but that failed."That's a big problem. You won't get very far until the problems noted by Repair Disk, the function I presume you ran based on your description, are sorted out. It's possible the hard drive has failed.
If the Apple Hardware Test failed, that's another significant problem. If it produces messages you can read that describe the failure, write them down. The machine may need to be serviced by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
As to your next steps, first run the procedure specified in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified to see what's up with your disk and if anything can be done to correct that.
    Good luck!

  • InDesign CS5 Stability Issues

I got really fed up today.
Trying to resize a magazine, all the articles are individual documents compiled in a book. So each "chapter" is at least 3 pages and at most 15.
I adore the spanning columns feature, I've got sevral articles that this is very handy to setup. But I find the whole program is completely unstable when using this feature.
I started removing the anchored text frames and applying the spanning columns for the headers, with a paragraph rule above for the background colour.
But if I click around too quickly the whole program freezes and won't budge. I could be selecting an anchored frame to remove it. Or changing paragraph style, or simply opening another panel.
I checked the Task Manager and watched for 15 minutes as InDesign consumed more and more memory - going from 150k to 650k in about 10 minutes.
This happened a bunch of times. I restarted, reset my prefs, exported to idml, and all the other nick nack fixes.
Indesign just keeps bombing out. At which point i have to end the process and then restart indesign and I lose a tiny bit of work.
So frustrated today - over seemingly simple tasks, like selecting something, and the program crashes. This behaviour does not happen when I am not using Span Columns.
Is anyone else having stability issues with CS5 and Spanned Columns?

    Thanks Bob
I thought myself that there was a lot going on. And I appreciate that. But thinking about it, the only addition here is the spanning of columns and balanced columns.
I was at one stage incorpartaing detect edges on an image and had to give up on it because there was a 3 minute delay on simple things like cutting the image (as a test).
I just feel that perhaps more could be done in speeding up InDesign.
I've had a hard enough time updating the software, upgrading the hardware is going to be tough.
I don't think Indesign CS5 minimum specs included a supercomputer either?

  • Stability issues after upgrade from 5 to 6.1?

    Dear all,
my client plans to upgrade from WLS 5 to 6.1 soon. The application is
an intranet portal with Epicentric and Vignette used as additional
    products.
However, some voices say that 6.1 has stability issues. Well, these
statements are rumours and lack any proof or even anecdotal evidence I
have heard of, and therefore it is very difficult to respond
    appropriately.
Having said this, my questions are:
    - Did any of you have stability issues after upgrading from 5 to 6.1
    on Solaris?
    - If yes, what were they and how did you solve them (e.g. upgrade to
    SP 5)?
    - In 1-2 sentences, what is the context of the application?
My goal is to present a evidence that the romoured stability issues
don't exist or/and a list of meastures to avoid/solve them, if any.
    Many thanks in advance
    Andreas

  • Stability Issues (Freezes) and Mount SWAP Partition during Boot

    Hi,
i'm having the following 2 Issues:
    1. Stability issues, The System freezes randomly an i have no hint to get rid of the freezes.
    2. At bootyp the Swap Partition won't be mounted. If the bootup ist completet and i type "swapon -a" - everything ist ok
Because i'm a Newbie - i don't know how i could get rid of these Problems.
If you can tell me what i could try or what i schould check - please tell me.

    Post your /etc/fstab.
thx for you answer. I think i have to explain what i mean with "freeze" --> the pc isn't responding, that mean - no key input, no ssh responding. The PC has noch Graphical interface, only console and is uptodate and acts at home as my "server" thats why i cant say what it is exactly doing.
I think the only way is to get all log-files and search for the issue - what logs do i have to check?
How could i check why my swap partition couldn't be activatet at startup, but after login and "swapon -a" everything is fine?

  • Neo4 SLI Stability Issues

Hello all, I'm having some stability issues with my new setup.  Check my specs below in sig for hardware setup.
My system installed XP just fine.  After that, it crashed over and over.  Blue screens, lock ups, whatever... system never, or has, been stable ever since.  Lately, the system has been fairly stable, except when I start games that are graphics heavy.  For example, I play Joint Operations: Escalation, and when the game starts an online session, it locks up.  Always at the exact same point.  I've rolled back my nvidia drivers, changed video cards to an identical 6800 Ultra, and have had the same results.
I've run memtest86 for 3 passes, and no errors.  My PSU is an Antec TrueBlue 480 with the following specs, +3.3V@30A;+5V@38A;[email protected]; +12V@22A;[email protected];+5VSB@2A.
Does anyone have any thoughts?  I'm really at a loss here.  I'm not a n00b as I'm a sysadmin by trade, but need some expert help right about now.
    Thanks in advance!

haha, at first I was in the same boat.  Driver updates seemed to help, but the instability isn't all gone.  I just finished a C&C Zero Hour game without problem, so it only seems to be certain games.  But the certain games are my favorite ones...

10.1.0.3 is a patchset, not a full release. Patchset are available on metalink , not on OTN.
You can have many databases related to a specific ORACLE_HOME, as long as your system has enough resources to handle these databases. When you create a new database there's no need to stop running database instances.
Installation guide and release notes for 10.2 + certify section of metalink have all informations concerning OS requirements.

  • Performance / stability issues with BDB 3.3.62 while checkpointing

    Hi,
first of all: we use BDB 3.2 for more than a year within our application and we never had any performance or stability issues. Now we are about to release a new version of our software with BDB 3.3 and we found some problems during our release tests.
This is the situation: we have implemented some cleanup routines that make very heavy use of the BDB environment. The common usage pattern is to scan the database (about 300GB with >> 100 million items) and than delete a lot of items from the database. The first versions of our cleanup routine worked without any problem but during performance tuning of our code we suddenly and reproducible encountered segmentation faults in the com.sleepycat.je.recovery.Checkpointer thread. We analysed more that 10 VM crashes and ALL crashes were related to Checkpointer thread. (Linux 64 bit, JDK 1.5.0_013 / 1.6.0_06)
After we removed our performance tuning (only application logic – nothing BDB-related) the VM crashes disappeared – so it looks like some kind of problem which only occurs under high load conditions. Next thing we tried was enabling our performance tuning and setting Ceckpointer configuration to default (write a checkpoint after 20MB) before that we used time based checkpointing with 60 sec interval.
With Default Checkpointer configuration there were no VM-crashes but performance was very slow!
Finally my question: What Checkpointer configuration would you recommend for an environment that is under very high load with regard to delete operations? Would you recommend using “high priority Checkpointing”? Would you recommend time- or data-based checkpointing?
It looks like Checkpointing every 60 seconds was not a good idea but 20MB seems to be too slow.
This leads to another question: What does a longer Checkpointing interval mean for recovery time? Does recovery take substantially longer if checkpointing is done less fequently?
Any help would be very much apprechiated.

  • Does the Imovie 6.0.3 update fix the stability issues?

    Hi,
Been using Imovie 6.0.2 a fair bit lately, and have had quite a few crashes. I see from this forum that I'm not the only one.
I haven't yet been able to update to the latest version (6.0.3) released last week, and would like some user experience opinions about whether the update has fixed the stability issues. Anybody noticed any improvements or otherwise?
My crashes seem to happen pretty randomly, it could be when you're putting a transition in, or just when you click Play or move the playhead. Any time really. I get the little spinning circle and Imovie is hung. Tried leaving it for ages just in case it was eventually going to return, but it doesn't.
    Has the patch fixed it?
    cheers,
    Ian

Software Update says I have nothing that needs updated. Since I know this isnt true, I went to Downloads and attempted to install both updates--it stopped and said I had to go back to the previous download. After a couple journeys back to nowhere, I gave up.
