Asus Gtx 760 - original Asus or nvidia drivers?

I Set up a New PC and now was wondering if I shall install the original Asus or nvidia drivers to my system.
Looking forward to your Support.
Best Alex

You should do the following:
Download and load the latest drive from NVidia (I choose to have the installer load the video and audio portions only)
Find all the files named "cuda_supported_cards.txt" and either rename or delete those files (your GTX 760 card will work even if it is not listed in this file) (Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc. will each have one)
Start Premiere Pro and from the menu verify that your card is recognized and working: File/Project Settings/General should give you the option to select the "Mecury Engine GPU Acceleration" option

  • Nvidia Quadro K4000 vs Asus GTX 760. Which one better for AE and Pr ?

I have 2 Computers and planning to mix them up together as possible. I built a PC with quadro k4000 last year because I was graduated as 3D animator and i plan to work as Animator, plus I also have another PC with GTX 760. and now I'm currently working as Video Editor. so here are my questions:
    - k4000 and gtx 760 which one would do better in AE and Pr ?
    - I read some articles said: "quadro and gtx can group up together in one PC". is it really possible ? because some people said yes and some people said no and some people said yes but wont work together blah blah. I really want to know about it, because right now I already have these 2 GPU. and if YES. can you show me how to do it?
there are my both PC specs:

    SSD 128gb
    HDD 3TB
    MotherBoard: Asus P9X79 PRO

    HDD: 3TB x 2
    MotherBoard:  ASRock X79 Extreme6
    VGA: quadro k4000
Can somebody help me to build these 2 PC in just 1 PC as possible ?

I have something similar that I just posted about - my system has both a GTX780 and a Quadro K4200 installed. Eric is right. They work, but the driver installation can be tricky.
Mine is a new build and I am trying to learn how the two cards work together. I expected better performance. I don't understand why setting CUDA acceleration to only the GeForce, when NVidia allows for both CUDA GPUs. I tried every combination with no difference in results. So, I will be following your thread to see what happens.

    Hi,
    Yes both are compatible.
    What is your power supply?
Also did you try any different cable for video between GPU and TV/monitor? Maybe try different monitor too.
Hello ah, so the card and the MoBo are compatible? thats great!
PSU is Corsair CX750M 750W ATX 80+ Bronze PC Power Supply
also i will try a newer monitor that just has a DVI wire rather than using a converter

  • GTX 760 compatible with h8 1420t?

My hp is an h8 1420t. It came with a 600w power supply and an Nvidia GTX 660. I want to upgrade to an Asus GTX 760 or 760 ti when it comes out. Will the graphics card fit in the case and work with the motherboard and power supply or will it not?

    Hi,
The following links show specs of both cards:
      http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-660/specifications
      http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-760/specifications
They are same size (width, lenght & height). You need more power and connectors for the 760 and 600W can do the job nicely.
    Regards.

  • Trouble installing Asus GTX 750ti Graphics card on i7

    Pavilion i7 [email protected] (2011)
Trying to upgrade from GeForce 545 graphics card to new ASUS Geforce GTX 750Ti.
Hi  - After fitting the new card I get a blank screen after the initial blue setup screen. I have already read various detailed threads on exactly this but am not sure what to do.
I have  few options from what I can figure out.
    1. One thread tells me how to go into the setup menu and 'disable secure boot'  - others tell me this won't work (??)
    2. Another very detailed thread says I must update the BIOS to a version 8 . I just did an update via HP support but it is still version 7 - the automated system doesn't let me install a newer version - not even sure if i should or how to(??)
    3. This is from another thread ;-
'HP usually stops producing BIOS updates after one year from the model's initial release date which for your PC is May 2012.  You need a version 8 BIOS in other to get the EVGA 750 TI to work.  If you search the forum you will find many posts where many of the NVIDIA GTX 750 models have failed to owrk in PCs running a legacy BIOS ( not version 8).
The below NVIDIA GTX 750 models should work as these models will work in PCs that have a legacy BIOS or a UEFI BIOS.
MSI NVIDIA GTX N750 TI and the MSI GTX N750 TF'
This suggests I simply give up on the ASUS card and get one of the cards listed above.
I'm not sure what to do and would really appreciate some advise. I don't feel confident messing about too much with the machine and would like a simple solution even if it costs a bit more. If I knew 100% these other cards would work I'd just exchange the ASUS.
    thanks

    Hi,
Interesting quotes, probably some from me.
Here is another thought for you.  "Not every graphics card will work in every PC" Even graphics cards that work in one particular PC may not in fact work in a similar model or the exact same model.
Look for a NVIDIA 660 or 670 and a power supply to match the recommendation by the graphics card manufacturer.
BTW - You will probably not see a version 8 BIOS for the Pavilion models with the i7-2600 processor.

    Hi,
Please post the HP product number for your PC. How to Find the HP Model Number and the HP Product Number or let HP automatically find your PC model number and HP network attached printers.
Is this the ASUS GTX 770 graphics card in question?
You need to ask ASUS if the ASUS GTX 770 will run in a non-ASUS motherboard that has a non-UEFI BIOS.

  • MSI Nvidia GTX 760 OC Edition broken

Hi guys, back in December I bought an MSI Nvidia GTX 760 OC Edition and it has worked flawlessly until a few days ago. The first sign of trouble (a few days ago) was that the computer was restarting and when it returned to desktop there was a messaged that read "nVidia display drivers have stopped working and have been recovered". Sometimes it would happen without restarting the computer which would result in the screen going blank for a second and then coming back on with the aforementioned message.
To resolve this I used the "Driver Sweeper" program to completely remove the drivers for the card and reinstall them, but the problem persisted. I did this several times with the latest driver and the older driver and the last time I did it when I was booting into windows the screen got covered with graphical artifacts in pink and yellow colours and would not even display the mouse cursor. So I switched to the integrated graphics (thank goodness my motherboard has onboard graphics or I would be screwed) and since then the system would not recognise the graphics card, even in the BIOS. This means that I cannot install drivers for the card because the Nvidia installer will not install drivers if it does not detect a graphics card present.
Now when I put the graphics card in the fan runs at max even if I unplug the PCI-e power connectors from it, yet the system refuses to recognise the card at all.
So here's a summary of what I have done:
    cleaned drivers out completely
Reinstalled latest and older version of driver
    Checked Bios
    Reseated GPU
Tried the card in another PCI-e slot
Started the computer with the HDMI cable plugged into the graphics card, resulting in no monitor output
Attempted to install drivers from the DVD, same problem as with the drivers downloaded from the Nvidia website
Here are my system specs, everything is under a year old:
    MSi Z87-G55 mobo
    intel Core i5 4670k
    Corsair Vengeance 8GB Ram (2x4)
XFX 650 watt core pro Bronze edition PSU
So yeah, pretty high spec and all new. I don't have another computer to try the GPU in, but with the driver related shenanigans it is fair to suspect that the GPU is at fault. I have removed the card and everything is running fine without it.
MSi don't offer any helpful information about their RMA procedure so it would appear my only hope is the person I bought it from. Although I will try to harass MSi about it to see if I can get it RMA'ed via them.

Right, as an update I was issued a replacement by MSI and it arrived today The broken card arrived to them on Wednesday and they dispatched a replacement that same day and it arrived today (Monday). So that is less than five days from the broken card arriving to them to the replacement arriving at my door, very impressed. So if anyone in the UK has a faulty MSi product that needs replacing I can vouch for their RMA service, it is first class In my experience at least, I can say that MSi are one of the good guys and will definitely be a manufacturer to consider when shopping for new hardware.

  • Asus GTX Titan Black and Premiere Pro CS 5.5

    Hello.
I have Premiere Pro CS 5.5 and running ASUS GTX Titan Black as a grafic card.
But the problem is that  Premiere Pro displays only 4gb of Vram and not 6GB Vram. Why is it like that.
    I'm running windows 7 64 bit.
    does anyone have any ideas

What are you specifically looking at in Premiere Pro that displays that 4 GB measurement?

  • GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II - Nvidia drivers keep crashing?

Until recently I owned a GF8800 GT 512MB which worked like a charm. Never had a single problem with it. I bought the MSI GTX 560 Ti about a month ago. Ever since then I've had the nvidia drivers crash randomly every few hours. I though it might be a driver bug so I waited for an update, but since then I've updated the drivers twice (2 new stable releases and 1 beta), tried a "clean install" also and every version had the same problem. So it's obviously not a driver issue.
When I say crash, I mean the screen goes blank, the monitor turns itself off for a few secs, and when it comes back on, I get a tray notification that the "Nvidia driver stopped working/crashed and has recovered" (something like that).
I'd also like to point out that my PC really is 100% rock solid/stable and I have zero other problems besides this GPU issue.
Is this a faulty GPU or is there a solution for this annoying problem?
    PC specs:
    CPU: i7 930
    MB: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
    RAM: 3x2GB DDR3 1600MHz 8-8-8-24 Corsair
GPU: GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II 1GB DDR5
    HDD: Intel SSD 320 120GB, 2x320GB Seagate (Raid0), 1x500GB Seagate
    PSU: Corsair VX650W
    OS: Win7 x64 Ultimate
EDIT: In case it helps, this has so far only happened during normal work in windows, never during gaming. So my guess would be a problem with the 2d software/hardware perhaps?
EDIT2: Kombustor temps are: 35-40 idle, 75-77 on load (no user overclock ofc, only the factory one).

I recently bought the Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti SOC and I'm having similar problems too. So I guess Rasha here is correct when saying:
But it's not as annoying as it sounds, because, at least for me, the driver might restart only one time during a desktop session and then it's stable for the whole time along. I have been playing Skyrim these days with no problems. I do suspect too that firefox - flash might be one of the causes of the problem. I might try the older drivers Rasha speaks off later today.
There is definitely a problem with the 28x.xx and 290.36 beta drivers.  Please see link below:
    http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=215256
I am having this 'TDR' problem as well and have been helping nVidia by testing some drivers.  Not really sure how long it will take to fix this but ManuelG (nVidia customer relations) did say the new WHQL driver has been delayed as they are trying to find a fix.

  • Can apple release macbook pro with nvidia Geforce GTX 760

can you please add macbook pro a nvidia GTX 760 graphics card

No, we can't. We are users just like yourself
Seeing as how the nvidia GTX 760 is a graphics card for the PCIe bus structure which the MBP does not have, I think you chances of getting Apple to do that are right up there with the snowball in you know where.

  • Reg: Upgrading my graphics card to NVIDIA geforce GTX 760/780

    Hi,
I am working with a Dell Precision work station 690 which currently uses a NVIDIA QUADRO FX 3450.. I want to upgrade this to a high end graphics card mostly NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760/780.. However , when I read the Specs for Dell Precision work station 690, it is mentioned that is support memory only till 512.. Are high end graphics card compatible with my PC? Will there be any power issues? I have an extra 6 pin cord from PSU on my PC.
    --Thanks ,
    Rama

Check if your chosen video card requires UEFI.
The GeForce GTX 960 failed in my Precision 690.
Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit would not boot with this card.
I believe the issue is that this card requires a motherboard with UEFI which the 690 does not have.
Other posts report that the GeForce 750 Ti fails also because of lack of UEFI.
I found this site on Dell which says that the Radeon R9 280X will work in a 690:
     http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&sku=a7272920
Note in the above URL  the requirement for a 1000W power supply. Some video cards require two (2) 6-pin or one (1) 6-pin and one (1) 8-pin connector from the power supply.
    Hope this helps.

Will  card nVidia geforce GTx 760 work with premiere pro?

Yes, the GTX 760 will work nicely with Premiere on the PC. What version? With CS6, you may need to delete the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" file from the Adobe folder.
