Asus monitor compatible

is there a compatibility problem with asus monitor?

https://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/MX299Q/
says
DisplayPort, HDMI/MHL, and Dual-link DVI ports for multi-device connectivity
With HDMI youcould only get 1920x1080 but that may not work. I would use the display poret on the mnitor and get a mini display port to display port cable. They cost about $10-15. You can also get a dual-link DVI adopter for about $100

  • Is the LG 22EN33S-B 22-inch LED 1920 x 1080 VGA Monitor compatible with mac via a vga to thunderbolt connection

Is the LG 22EN33S-B 22-inch LED 1920 x 1080 VGA Monitor compatible with mac via a vga to thunderbolt adapter?

The 1080p and 1080i options only appear on the HDMI display settings, the display settings for the thunderbolt to vga adaptor has 1920 x 1080.
Via the HDMI output of the Mini via an HDMI cable to a HDMI input on the Samsung the display fills the screen but the text looks vile.
The options for picture adjustement on the samsung include fill screen as you suggest
Using the thunderbolt to VGA adaptor the text looks as it should, crisp and clear but the display is shitfted to the right.
The options for picture adjustment on the Samsung does not have the 'fill screen' option available when the VGA input is selected. However a new option called 'pc screen adjustment' appears and you can nudge the display over to the left a bit but not enough to cover the whole screen.
I remind you the pc worked perfectly 1920 x 1080 on the same VGA cable and input to the samsung.

  • Macbook to Asus monitor resolution problem

I have a ’08 Macbook connected to an Asus monitor via DVI. I’ve been working at 1280 x 800 with a “usable” resolution of 1280 x 720 (listed in Mac Color LCD dialogue box). In the Asus VH238 dialogue box, many higher resolutions are available (max 1920 x 1080) but don’t work. At least I didn’t think they did, until I “accidentally” opened the Macbook lid and/or turned on the power on the monitor or some combination of moves that somehow allowed 1920 x 1080 resolution to work. Unfortunately, it only happened once and I can’t seem to duplicate what I think I did. Any suggestions?

    Hi gasser29,
I'm unclear if you are still running 10.6 as is noted in your post, but for most versions of OS X, if you hold down the Option key when selecting the Scaled radio button in Displays, it should give you additional display resolution options:
OS X Yosemite: Adjust your display’s resolution
If you select a resolution that isn't supported and your display becomes black or unreadable, you may also find this article helpful:

Yes, using the DVI to VGA adapter included with your G5 and a VGA to Macintosh Video adapter that you'll have to purchase elsewhere. Griffin has one (the Mac Connect) and you and probably find one elsewhere as well. For full information on monitor compatibility, see:

  • 13" Macbook Pro Retina issue outputting to Asus monitor

So I'm trying to drive a Asus VS247H-P 23.6 inch monitor with my Macbook Pro Retina (13", late 2013). The MBPr has two Thunderbolt/MiniDisplay ports and one HDMI port. The monitor has one HDMI input. The monitor will work when using the Macbook’s HDMI port, but when I use a MiniDisplay to HDMI cable to try and drive it through the MiniDisplay port, the monitor can't detect any signal, and the Macbook screen goes black temporarily every few seconds as long as the cable is plugged in. I've tried with three different MiniDisplay/HDMI cables, all with the same result. There are no Mac drivers available for download on the Asus support website.
More confusingly, the monitor WILL work perfectly when run through the MiniDisplay port of a NON-retina 13" Macbook Pro with the same MiniDisplay to HDMI cable.
I would just use the HDMI-out port of the MBPr to drive the monitor, but I'd like to run two identical monitors through the two MiniDisplay ports for a dual screen setup.
I'm completely stumped at this point, if anyone has any idea at all on what's going on I would be eternally grateful!

    Hi mwc6zp,
I have come across exactly the same issue.  Same monitor, same laptop model and year, same everything.  The only way I can get it to work is by using the standard HDMI input to the laptop.
Were you ever able to work around this?

  • Macbook Pro to Asus monitor best connection?

I have a late 2013 mbp and just bought an Asus VS248H-P monitor to hook up to it. I've heard of different ways to connect them, for example, HDMI to HDMI, HDMI to thunderbolt, and DVI to thunderbolt. I was wondering which would look the best on the monitor. I have HDMI-HDMI right now and it's just ok. I've heard that DVI to thunderbolt is the best but I don't know.
Also, thunderbolt and mini display port is the same, right?

    Hello there, ripples in time.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting the issue you're describing:
OS X: When your Mac doesn't sleep or wake
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5357
Particularly of use for you, might be the following section:
Your computer cannot wake from sleep
Make sure your computer isn't powered off by pressing the power key for one second.
If you're using an external display, make sure your display is not powered off or unplugged.
If you are using a Mac notebook:
Make sure the computer's battery is charged. Try connecting the power adapter to the computer, then press the power button for one second to see if the computer powers on.
Make sure the AC power cord is connected securely to the power outlet, and that the outlet it is working correctly. Confirm the power adapter or cable is attached firmly.
If your computer is plugged into a power strip, make sure the power strip is not turned off. Check to make sure other items connected to the power strip are receiving power.
Confirm the right power adapter is connected on Mac notebook computers. If a lower wattage power adapter is used than the one that came with your Mac, it may not provide enough power to charge the battery while the computer is powered on. Make sure there is no debris in the MagSafe port that might prevent charging. When your MagSafe cable is connected properly, you should see a green or orange light on the connector.
If you are using a Mac desktop:
Make sure the AC power cord is connected securely to the computer and outlet.
Make sure the AC power outlet it is connected to is working properly.
If your computer is plugged into a power strip, make sure the power strip is not turned off. Check to make sure other items connected to the power strip are receiving power.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Asus Monitor Display

This question is quite elementary, but understand I am new to mac.....I've connected a hdmi cable through the thunderbolt port for my primary display to be on an Asus 24" monitor.  When I close my laptop, it goes to sleep and my display on the monitor says "no connection".  I've played with several settings, and can't get it to work.  What setting do I need to adjust?

    Hi
These are the steps for putting your laptop in clamshell mode (closed lid) with external display:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3131
Note you will need to be using a external mouse and keyboard to get this to work.
If these steps dont work you may need to reset your PRAM settings follow here:

  • Use ASUS monitor with iMac

Has anyone tried to use the ASUS VH242H monitor as an external display over HDMI with the iMac (mid-2007 running 10.6.8)?
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236052

Good to know that it's technically feasible, but do you (or anyone else) know about quality? I'm really only using this screen for text based applications, but If I have to move some graphics windows over (or watch video) it would be nice to know I'm not wasting my money. Thanks!

  • Connecting Asus monitor to a New Mac Pro

I am considering getting an Asus PA279Q monitor to connect to a NEW Mac Pro (the round black one).  The MP does not seem to have a display port.  The Asus specs show “Signal Input: HDMI, DisplayPort 1.2, Daisy-chain DisplayPort Output, Dual-link DVI-D”.  The Asus also has “USB Port(s): 3.0, 1 x upstream, 6 x Type A ports.”  My understanding is that HDMI ports do not support 2560x1440 resolution.  Have  they have been upgraded to do that?  If I need an adapter, please describe it.
    Thanks

And if you want to use AdobeRGB mode, you have to do this trick :
    http://www.ireckon.net/2013/03/force-rgb-mode-in-mac-os-x-to-fix-the-picture-qua lity-of-an-external-monitor
Otherwise sRGB and AdobeRGB modes can't be used.
I do this yesterday and my PA279Q work fine.
I hope package are the same between France and other country (for cables inside : HDMI, mDP/DP, DVI, DP/DP).

  • HP L2335 monitor compatible?

    Hi -
Has anyone bought the 23" HP L2335 Flat Screen monitor and hooked it up their Powerbook G4? Curious as to your thoughts. Are the two compatible? Any necessary adapters? Overall thoughts? Thanks!

As long as the monitor is VGA or DVI you should be fine... if it is DVI then there are no adapters to worry about; if it is VGA then just make sure you have your DVI-VGA adapter that came with your PowerBook. There shouldn't be any compatibility issues since all monitors/projectors/displays use the same standard connections. It's just a matter of DVI (digital) or VGA (analog), and, like I said, with the adapter that came with the PowerBook you should be set for either possibility.

Might really be better to purchase a new or used monitor with DVI or other common input.
