"ASUS" nuisance prompting on iphone 5s

Hi,
Recently, my iPhone 5S start to have this nuisance prompting 'Incorrect Wi-Fi Password - enter password for "ASUS" '.
This message can appear at random and anywhere, be on road, in mall or in home. Really annoying!
Have checked Settings-Wifi and did not notice any such name in the list.
Would appreciate if anyone can provide some tip on how to remove such annoyance.
Thank you.
Best Regards
Sam Wong

  • Apple ID prompt on iPhone 4S uses old email address

My Hotmail address became Outlook, so I've changed my Apple ID.
My iPhone 4S doesn't realise this, though - when it prompts for my password, it uses my old ID.
How do I get it to recognise the update?

    Hello 7spencers,
There are a few places in the settings that you can log out of one Apple ID and sign in with the alternate Apple ID.
If you are trying to sign into the iTunes and App Store with your Apple ID, you can use these steps:
    Changing your Apple ID account
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores, then tap the Apple ID signed in.
Sign out of the current Apple ID account and then sign in with another account or create a new Apple ID.
You can find the full article here:
iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store Apple ID account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1311
I also recommend signing out of FaceTime and Messages.  Once you are signed out, you can sign in with the Apple ID you would like to use on that device:
Sign out of iMessage or FaceTime:
iMessage: Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
FaceTime: Go to Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
You can access the full article here:
iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5223
If you have iCloud setup, you can use these steps to sign out of iCloud on the iPhone:
On your iOS device’s Home screen, go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account.
Once you have removed the iCloud account from the iCloud settings, you can sign in with your other Apple ID.  You can find more information here:

  • How do I get rid of nuisance prompts?

I open Calendar, enter an event, and I get a prompt to log-into iCloud. I open a game, and get a prompt to change Location Services. I play music, it wants me to log into Mail.  The list goes on and on. How do I get grid of these nuisances?

Thank you I will try that.  Why am I being prompted to d/l an old update?  I didn't even know there was a more recent one.

  • Why does iPod play without prompting on iPhone?

This happened to my previous iPhone (3G) and now to my new one (version 4.2.1 14GB). Also happens to my friend's older iPhone (3G).
Here is what happens: iPhone is sitting on center console - not connected to bluetooth (n/a in my truck). I faintly hear music playing, look down and the phone is playing music via iPod. This happens inconsistently, but has happened a number of times. I was shocked to see new iPhone do this too! All iPod settings are set to "off".
    Anyone know why this happens?

My sister's does the same thing and none of the usual steps stops it. It does not do it enough to bother her, so she just quits the iPod app or if she hears it presses play, she did not think it serious enough to replace her phone.
We did send feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
If yours is in warranty, and this is causing battery problems for you, I would make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store.

While updating iphone software to 5.0.1, I am getting error that Iphone could not be updated because the firmware file not compatible.
Can anyone help me to resolve this issue.

Using iTunes 10.5.2.11 on a PC running 64 bit Windows 7
First did a full back up of  iphone using iTunes
Put iphone into Recovery Mode ( http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 ). Erases all user data and settings!
    Disconnected USB cable from iphone
Powered off iphone by holding down Sleep/Off button until slider appeared, slid to off, waited until screen dark
Pressed and kept holding Home button while plugging cable back into phone
I still saw the graphic on the iphone that said to plug into iTunes, so I unplugged and re-plugged cable. (I may have released the Home button too soon)
Recovery Mode alert came up in iTunes.
Followed all iTunes prompts to restore phone - it downloaded and sucessfully installed iOS 5.0.1
iphone did not appear in iTunes due to missing pairing file (that made me nervous)
iphone was now at factory settings. I followed prompts on iphone screen to start reactivation process
Eventually the iphone asked if I wanted to restore from a back-up (whew!)
A window opened in iTunes and I was able to select my previous back-up file for the restore
A full restore from back-up then occured
I also allowed a carrier settings update to occur when prompted (not sure that happens in all cases)
When the restore was done I had to re-enter some passwords, but everything was there
iOS is now 5.0.1 (9A406). The whole process took about an hour.

  • ITunes cannot recognize iPhone/iPad via WiFi Sync following motherboard change

    Hi folks,
I'm having a problem with synchronising my iPhone (and iPad) to iTunes on Windows 7 Home Premium via WiFi sync.
This never used to be a problem - both devices would be identified by iTunes (occasionally this was sporadic, however a simple WiFi off/on would usually solve the problem).
I have recently upgraded my motherboard and CPU in my Windows 7 PC and after updating some drivers, etc. all of a sudden, I cannot connect to WiFi Sync anymore. I can still synchronise my devices via the cable - i.e. the devices are correctly identified by the PC, but for some reason post the motherboard change, as soon as I pull the plug out of the device, the device disappears from iTunes.
I can confirm that the "Synchronise this device via WiFi sync" tick boxes are checked, and the Machine Name is the same, so my iPhone is still looking for the same PC.
I'm wondering if because of the motherboard change, there is an internal signature that the iPhone/iPad looks for that is no longer the same.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing iTunes to no avail. I cannot seem to find any solution to this problem - no matter what I do, iTunes will simply not recognise my devices over WiFi anymore.
    Welcome any advice or thoughts.
    System details:
    - Intel i7 2700K (Upgraded from Intel i3 550)
    - ASUS P8Z68-M Pro (Upgraded from an ASUS P7H55-M/USB3
    - iPhone 4S
    - iPad 2
    - Windows 7 Home Premium
    Cheers,
    Mike.

    Folks,
I thought I should post a follow up - in case any Apple Support people scour these forums.
The problem seems to have resolved by itself, which is both a good and bad thing.
I made absolutely no changes last night, not even a system reboot, to launch iTunes today and the system miraculously discover both my iPhone 4S and my iPad 2. I think this highlights a broader problem is that the WiFi sync capability is inconsistent and very difficult to troubleshoot. I have no idea why it has all of a sudden started working, especially when I have changed no wireless, networking, firewall or Anti Virus settings.
Anyway thank you to those who had a read, and I wish I could provide more insight on why it has started working all of a sudden, and importantly, what caused it to stop working.
Perhaps it is simply like two people - the new PC and its motherboard needed to 'get to know' the devices before it felt comfortable in allowing a connection .
I have no other more rational explanation!
    Cheers all,
    Mike.

  • Unable to receive messages on a PC but Android Tablet & iPhone OK!

I would please appreciate help with a Thunderbird ver 31.3.0 problem on my two PC's (Windows 8 PRO 64-BIT and Windows 7 PRO 32-BIT) that prevents me from receiving emails dated 18 December 2014 and onwards. Sending is fine. I can though download the same email dated 17 December 2014 but no more.
My Android Asus 7" Tablet and iPhone 4 are both able to receive/send emails and are both connected by wireless to my broadband router, the same one to which my PC's are connected. I have tried wireless on my PC's but still does not work.
Contacted my broadband supplier in the UK (Sky) and went through all the Thunderbird settings which were fine.
I then installed a GMK UK email account and downloaded emails no problem!
My suspicion is therefore that there is some form of problem with Thunderbird/Mozilla's systems but not sure.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Robert

  • How can I get a new iPhone 5?

My iPhone 5 lately has been experieincg lots of battery issues. I hardly get any battery life when on LTE and my phone gets really hot when using LTE or gaming and I turn off most location services and searching services. I also lose wifi connection alot. I have restored it many times even without backing up my data. This is so frustrating too pay 650 dollars of cash to receive  a defective product especially when I've been saving up to buy what I thought was going to be a premium quality phone. How can I get it replaced for a new one.

Stedman1 is right. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com and follow the prompts for iPhone. That's how you can contact Apple either by phone or by Genius Bar appointment for service or replacement. Your phone has a one-year warranty on it, so none of the 5s are out of warranty yet.
By the way, you don't need to restore as new multiple times. That doesn't do anything different than the first time.

  • Unable to update my iphone 4s ios to 5.0.1

    dear friends
im experiencing updating problem rite now. i just bought a 4s for my wife yesterday. when i tried updating the ios to 5.0.1 directly from the phone, it showed - 'Unable to Check for Update. An error occured while checking for a software update. and when i tried updating it via itunes, i got this msg - The iPhone "xxx iphone" could not be updated because the firmware file is not compatible.
my internet connection is perfectly ok here. can anybody help me on this?
    Thank you

I was finally able to update from iOS 5.0 (9A334) to iOS 5.0.1 (9A406) on my new iPhone 4S.
(Note: I did not try "Reset" in the Settings>General app on iphone as I only noticed it later. Someone may want to try it)
    Problem:
Firmware file incompatibility error whenever I tried to update through iTunes. Same issue when trying to do a restore through iTunes, as it attempted to first do an iOS update and failed with the same firmware file incompatibility error. A straight restore from back-up  (right clicking the user device in iTunes) did not fix the problem. On the iphone itself, there was an update badge on Settings, but it said my system was already up-to-date when I tried to update over-the-air, even though the version was still 5.0 (9A334).
Solution (that worked for me at least):
I admit it was risky, but I was prepared to head back to the dealer in the morning if the phone didn't reactivate.
I hope this works for you. Good luck!

  • Why isn't the iphone apple map linked to other apps

since changing the ios the iphone now has maps supported by apple.  since this is the case why don't other apps prompt the iphone map app to open.  some apps like lowes, home depot, target, walmart apps direct users to google maps via the internet.

This is a technical forum.  Nobody here will know the answer.  The answer requires speculation about why companies behave the way they do.

  • IPhone dock 30-pin connector to line-out 3.5mm adapter/cable?

    Hi folks,
I'm looking for a compact adaptor or cable to go from my iPhone 30-pin connector to a 3.5mm cable (or 3.5mm plug). Wondering if there are any recommendations, as some pre-date the iPhone and thus prompt the iPhone to switch to airport mode...
    I've found:
SendStation - Products - PocketDock Line Mini Out USB (I don't need the USB part, but it's handy I guess)
    http://www.inspiretech.com/p-483-dock-to-35-auxilary-audio-cable.aspx
IPHONE LINE OUT DOCK W/ 3.5MM JACK (WHITE COLOR) - eBay Other, Audio Cables Connectors, A V Accessories Cables, Electronics. (end time 17-Sep-09 02:25:07 AEST)
ZIP-AUDIO-IP1-B iPod/iPhone Retractable Stereo 3.5mm to iPod/iPhone Dock Connector (White), Apple Mac and iPod Accessories
There are no doubt other (maybe better?) options so look forward to any tips.
    Cheers,
    B

Did deeper research.  It's apparently true that phone call audio is not and cannot be routed to the "line out" of the iPhone.  I'm disappointed.  It appears to be a hardware design thing, as I've found no app that would enable this, and darned if I can think of a situation that would have this capability as a downside.

  • Music player in iPhone doesn't show cover of album, downloaded from itunes

I bought an album on iTunes and downloaded it on the iPhone (without program). The music player program doesn't show the album cover. I see it in iTunes program on computer, but don't see it in iPhone. Deleted album from iPhone, uploaded it again, using iTunes program. Nothing changed.

I do not know what the intention is to open and run command prompt on iphone. Lovely picture, BTW, thank you.
Apple created iphones and ipads the way that windows explorer or OS can only read and manage one folder. DCIM
folder that contains your pictures on the phone. Only the pictures made by you, nothing else. So anything you trying to accomplish in command prompt is not going to happen.
If you read somewhere that you need to right click to back up your phone or transfer purchases or restore you need to be looking on the other screen in that article. Look at how to back up instructions here. They have step by step.

  • IPhone 4s won't sync with macbook pro OS 10.7.5

I'm Duane, and I'm frustrated.   My wife recently upgraded from iPhone 4s to 5s and gave me her 4s.   It used to sync ical very well until I purchased iCloud space.   I've deleted iCloud, but when I try to sync iPhone and ical (onMac Book Pro) I get this prompt: "The iPhone 'Duane…' could not me synced because this computers no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPhone."    Then I am directed to "choose Store > Authorize this computer."   Which I have done so at least four times, with no results.   Can you help me?

Did you authorize your computer for all the Apple IDs used to purchase apps an other media on your phone (in Store>Authorize This Computer)?

  • Just update iTunes to 10.6.0.40. Now does not detect my iPhone. Tried restart, different USB port. Now what?

Just updated iTunes to 10.6.0.40. Now it does not detect my iPhone (prompt says reconnect, could not detect). Tried restarting and different USB port. What next asside from system restore with my Windows 7.Cannot Sync or get photos. Have 3Gs with os4.

I removed iTunes completely, then reinstalled. Still not identifying phone. When iPhone connected, prompt says "iPhone detected, could not be identified properly. Unplug and try again." Still not working.
Tried by installing previous version of iTunes (10.5.0.142) which did worked. Would not open iTunes because it had been previously installed with a newer version.
Sucessfully reinstalled ver 10.6.0.40 again. Then tried again by removing iTunes, iCloud and QuickTime. Reinstalled iTunes 10.6.0.40 and same problem, detected iPhone but could not identify properly. What next?

  • IPhone 5 not able to sync to iTunes

    In need of help here.
I have problems with syncing my iPhone 5 to iTunes on my laptop. I am using Windows and have tried all other alternative methods in solving the problem! Everytime when I sync, it only states "2 out of 6 backup" and if I refresh iTunes, it will prompt me "iPhone server network cannot be connected" (where my wifi is working perfectly fine).
I have tried reinstalling iTunes, did Windows Update Diagnosis, reimage repair(?), reset command prompt and other alternatives but it just doesn't seem to work! I am able to transfer pictures from my iPhone to my laptop but I can't sync my iPhone to iTunes! Please give me some advice, I've not been backing up my iPhone since October due to this problem
