Asus PadFone 2

Hello.
I thought to check if there is any information about www.asus.com/Mobile/PadFone2/ but I did not find. So I decided to start new topic exclusively about this device because I am participating Asus PadFone 2 Test Pilot program and I recieving my device next week.
I will test and benchmark how well Adobe software do work on this device, so there will be reviews and other details what I think and how I feel of using this device.
I will also do video material about using device etc. However most of videos will be in Finnish since I primarily try to reach Finnish audience with this, however some videos may also be in english where I cover key features of device and how Adobe programs work on it.
More of content will be created and links added here so other users can see my reviews about device etc.

Technically, I would say the Padfone is more a smartphone than a tablet, so Adobe Photoshop Touch for Phone might be a better fit...though, technically, the Padfone *can* do tablet resolution PS Touch for Tablets requires...
As a curiosity, have you tried it anyway to see? You have 15 mins. from when download starts to refund it via Google Play.

I am using ASUS Padfone and it can as a tablet also. I would like to purchase this apps but unfortunely Googly plays show that it incompatible with the device. Is there anyway I  can purchase the apps?

  • Adobe Touch Apps on ASUS Padfone

    Hello,
I was quite disappointed when I saw that none of the Adobe Touch Apps are working on ASUS Padfone. Everytime it says that the device is not compatible - even though I docked the Padfone in its station making it a 10" tablet with Android 4.0.3.
Please add compatibility with the Padfone since it seems to be a quite fantastic device for creative working!

I found out that all Touch apps are working perfectly on the Padfone. You can download them by changing the build.prop faking to have a supported device (i.e. Galaxy Tab 10) - although it works, it's pretty inconvenient, especially concerning updates.
But I assume it is as easy as adding the Padfone to the list of supported devices for the Touch apps. That should be possible in no time, shouldn't it?
Would be glad to be able to finally buy these neat Apps!

  • Can't pair SW2 with Asus Padfone 2

As the title said really. I have done everything as the instructed. Yet I can't even make a pair happen via bluetooth. All it ever show up is "Can't comunicate with SmartWatch 2"
any help will be much appreciated...... and no I do not wish to root my phone just yet   :d

Did you ever get this working as was going to buy a smartwatch tomorrow to go with my padfone?

  • Adobe Touch Apps on padfone

I am using ASUS Padfone, my tablet fulfill the Adobe Touch Apps requirement(My tablet running Android 4.0.4, an 10.1 inch display size, and screen resolution of 1280x800). But I can't install the apps from google play, what's the problem?

  • Lync 2013 Android can't sign in with 5.4 but can sign in with 5.3

AS Title said. I has deployed Lync 2013 Mobility. Now I got very strange things. First, I can sign in with Lync 2013 App Android 5.3.1100 and its fully functional(IM,Audio,Video). But when I update to Lync 2013 App Android 5.4.1106. I can't sign in.
No any Error message on screen. Even checked Android log. Still can't understand what happend.
My Lync environment is not using Public Cert. But if working fine with Private Cert on Lync 2013 App Android 5.3 version should be fine on Lync 2013 App Android 5.4 version.
I also test my connectivity on https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/ . All Pass. No Errors.
Have anyone can tell me why I can't sign in with Android 5.4 version?
    My Device is Asus padfone.
    Android Version: 4.1.1
Here is my Lync 2013 App Android 5.4 log on my device.

  • Firefox mobile doesn't allow to type national symbols with external usb keyboard.

I'm using Asus PadFone with it's native keyboard dock-station. When I try enter text on any text field in web page my keyboard layout is set to english. This doesn't hapen when i write text in Firefox search/url field. Tested with Russian and Lithuanian keyboard layout - it makes no difference. I can write national symbols with on-screen keyboard.
There is no such problems with other browsers, so it's something with Firefox.

Sounds like https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=669361 tomorrow's Firefox nightly build may have a fix for it. You can try the build at http://nightly.mozilla.org

  • Issues with Arch, xorg and Asus eee 4G 701

Hello, this is my first post here
I installed Arch 2009.02 on my Asus eee 701(4G), the installation went well and the system was up and running within minutes. I configured the wireless card (Atheros) which arch supported out-of-the-box and updated the system with pacman -Syu. Then, I installed the intel driver for the vga of the eee and attempted to configure X.
The issues started at this point. "Xorg -configure" appeared to work, but when I did "X -config /root/xorg.conf.new" all I could see was the mouse cursor as an X and nothing more. The touchpad didn't respond and nothing worked.
Then, I tried using "xorgcfg" but even though the screen worked great (I could see the stuff displayed), the system couldn't receive any input from the touchpad and thus the result was just a little bit better than with "Xorg -configure". I tried to reboot and use a USB mouse to see if the cursor responded but to no avail...
As a last resort, I decided to use the xorg.conf found on the eee page of the archwiki. I downloaded it in my PC, saved it and used wget to move it from my ftp server to the eee. I moved it to /etc/X11/ as xorg.conf and attempted to run "X -config /etc/X11/xorg.conf" to see if it worked. Unfortunately, no result. xorg attempted to start and then quit with the error "Fatal server error:  no screens found".
That's pretty much it... I have no idea what to do next or why the xorg.conf found in the Arch wiki doesn't work... Any suggestions would be really appreciated...

I did what you suggested above, but it still fails. Then I studied the log and I found this:
Parse error on line 10 of section files in file /etc/X11/xorg.conf
"RgbPath" is not a valid keyboard in this section
Any suggestions on how to solve this?
EDIT: OK, the discussion page on the Archwiki helped. All I had to do was remove the  'RgbPath "/usr/share/X11/rgb"' line and xorg worked flawlessly

  • Cam I use Asus mini display to VGA adapter on mac with thunderbolt port

I don't have a apple mini display to vga adapter, but my friend have a Asus branded with similar design like apple, I have a presentation two days more, so I need answer quick!!!
My mac: 2012 mid 15 inch

I mean the Mini Display to VGA as in this website:
    http://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1002131/

  • Can anyone help me solve the problem of text displaying very rough on my new ASUS PA279Q display monitor running off my MacBook Pro?

This is regarding a brand new ASUS PA 279Q, 2560 x 1440 IPS monitor. I'm connected via mini display port (into thunderbolt port on MacBook Pro) to display port on ASUS monitor; using cable ASUS included with the monitor. Mid 2012 MacBook Pro…full specs at bottom of this post.
I have resolution set at 2560 x 1440 which is the native resolution according to the ASUS spec. I tried the other resolutions available in my System Preferences and text displayed rough with those settings too. I've tried adjusting contrast, brightness and sharpness via the ASUS control panel and didn't solve the problem. Also tried calibrating via Mac's system preferences/display and that did not improve text display either. All the text on this monitor (no matter what software I launch, Finder, InDesign, Illustrator, MS Word, Excel, VMWare Windows XP, Windows versions of Word, Excel, Acrobat, etc, all are consistently rendering text the same way ---  ROUGH and with "HALOS" around each letter.
All point sizes of text and at various scales, display very rough on the screen. (My comparison is the retina display of my MBP and a Thunderbolt…so those two displays are my expectations.) I'm using the same MBP for both a Thunderbolt display (at work) and this ASUS at my home office.
On the ASUS it's not as noticeable when the text is on white backgrounds, but I'm a graphic designer and compose images with text all day everyday. Not to mention the specs on this ASUS PA279Q indicate it's built for the professional so I would expect better text rendering. I haven't even addressed color calibration and balance yet, because that won't matter to me if the text won't display any better than it is now.
I was so hopeful after researching all the specs on this monitor it would be a viable alternative to the glossy display of the Thunderbolt display. (Which, I do love the Thunderbolt display for it's clarity and how it displays crisp, clean text at all sizes. (This ASUS actually displays text decently if I increase the text so each letter is about 4" high. Which is pointless for practical purposes -- that'd be like doing page layout through a microscope!)
I kept holding off on getting a monitor for the home office thinking the Thunderbolt would be updated soon. I'd be sick if I dropped a grand on piece of 2011 technology only to learn a few days later an updated Thunderbolt display hit the market! Not to mention, I'm praying Apple comes out with a less reflective Thunderbolt display. The glare and reflection is the main reason I looked elsewhere for a large monitor; hence my asking for help. Hoping the ASUS text display issue can be worked out. My expectation is for it to display like the MBP retina and Thunderbolt display text. That possible?
Alternatively, I guess I could do the Apple Refurb Thunderbolt at $799. And see if there's a decent aftermarket anti-glare I could stick on it?
Thanks for reading my post. Hope someone can help; offer any suggestions? Words or wisdom?
Has anyone else had similar issues and figured out a resolution? Help!
    MacBook Pro
    Retina, Mid 2012, 2.3 Ghz Intel i7
    8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    OS X 10.8.5
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
    ASUS PA279Q

I uninstalled those two items. It still runs slow on start-up and when opening safari, firefox, iphoto, itunes, etc. It's not snappy like it used to be. Any other ideas? Thanks.

    Hello,
after upgrading to Xorg 1.8 one week ago, I noticed that my Fn keys (sound up/down, mute) were dupplicated. For example, if I press Fn+F10 (=MUTE/Unmute), the sound get muted and immediately unmuted.

    Nothing ?
Switchng off hal deamon and cleaning ~/.kde* has no effect...
So, after searching on google again an again, still nothing found.... even among the Ubuntu specific issue where post are terminated
with "wait next version of the package", the windows-style answer.
I will continue my attempts to fix this... but my conclusion about this is that hal was more precise in his behavior than udev...

  • Udevd and creation of /dev/dvb/adapter0 fails for U3100 Asus

    Hello all,
I have 3 arch PC's all running  3.14.4-1-ARCH properly updated. For some reason all 3 fail to create a /dev/dvb/adapter0 or adapter1 device when I plug in a dvb usb stick.

Seems like /dev/dvb/adapter0 is created and removed, not even a /dev/dvb/adapter0 folder remains. Strange enough, on of the systems has a PCI DVB-S card and there the DVB-S adaptor0 is created but creation of adapter1 (for the U3100) there also fails in the same way.
Does anyone have a clue on how to search  for a solution?
