  • WiFi Connection failure

I updated my Z2 OS today and completely lost WIFI. Di a backup, reset and restore and still no wifi.  Can Sony please hep? Obviously a bug. Cannot access anything without wifi.

This is one area that Sony really needs to improve on. Whether it's wifi, Bluetooth, gps, cell network, many other phones do it much better. Even cheaper ones like the Asus ZenFone 2. For a device like the z2, it should have top notch connections.
I also have wifi problems still. Firmware 690 fixed them for the most part, but firmware 723 and 28 broke it again. This is unacceptable for a flagship device, let alone a $700 phone made by a manufacturer as big as Sony. Even the speakers on this phone are considered low compared to other devices. I love my z2 and all, but there's MANY MANY areas where Sony needs to step up their game. And if they don't, people will end up going with other manufacturers.

  • Calls dropping after almost 2 hours (1:59hr)

hello everyone!i recently purchased the unlimited europe subscription, the thing is, the call quality is bad, and not only that, the call drops after almost 2 hours of a low quality call,i can deal with the low quality and everything, but why does it have to end the call just like that? i've purchased this service because i trusted it to replace whatsapp voice calls, since my girlfriend's internet at her university is bad, and keeps going on and off.we usually go to sleep together online... when the call is on-going.she likes when i stay with her all night. and her internet started giving us hard times, and i was thinking skype will save my day and night, but... it really wasnt what i expected. i hope that there's a solution for this.im using asus zenfone 5 for the calls now (if it means anything). and for the low quality thing, is there a way to fix this? i tried several devices...its the same in all of them, can hardly hear anything...voip runs smoother, but for that i dont need skype anymore.hoping to get some help! thanks!

Well since nobody could really help with my situation, figured I'll write down what happened so it may help a few people in need. My restore freeze problem was solved by removing then reinstalling itunes again since I had an older version of itunes and was unable to update without doing so. The "restore from backup" option came back after the factory setting restore and for some reason the whole process only went smoothly when I tried doing it on another computer. Anyhow everything is back to normal now.

  • How to get Outlook contacts into Android's contact list?

I have just installed Outlook by Microsoft Corp onto my Android Asus ZenFone 2. From the Outlook app, I can see under People all my contacts from the Exchange server, with other contacts on the phone's contact list.  However, from the phone's contact
list, I cannot see the Outlook account, I can see only Google, WhatsApp, SIM, device, etc.
Is the Microsoft Outlook app a "normal" phone app like all the other apps with contact lists?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
As per the information and details provided by you, to get the Outlook contacts into Android’s contact list, please follow these steps: -
Gmail is an excellent import tool fir contacts exported
    in an Outlook CSV form.
    Login to
Gmail that is associated with your Android device, go to the
Contacts from drop down menu up left, More > Import function.
This will allow you to choose the CSV file you just got out of Outlook on your computer, and
upload it to Gmail. Here they are – all your Outlook contacts synced with your new
    Android device.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • Android Setting up mail requires a client certificate

I have just got a new Asus ZenFone 2 and trying to add an Exchange account to the built-in Email app. My Exchange Server is Office 365.
After entering Email address, Password and Server (https://outlook.office365.com/mapi/emsmdb/?Mailbox=....a-long-guid....), it insists on a Client certificate.  Where do
I get this Client certificate?  When I touch Select, it says:
    Choose certificate
The app Email has requested a certificate.  Choosing a certificate will let the app use this identity with servers now and in the future.
You can install certificates from a PKCS#12 file with a .pfx or a .p12 extension located in external storage.
    What is going on here?
    Thanks.

I solved it by ignoring it.
Previously, I couldn't proceed as the Next button was disabled.  I found that it was disabled because the server name is given in the wrong format.  I got the
https://outlook.office365.com/mapi/emsmdb/?..... version from the configuration dialog in my desktop Outlook set up.
The proper way to enter the Exchange server for Office 365 is simply outlook.office365.com!

  • Blackberry Unlocks in Trouser Pocket

This is a major annoyance, and doing a simple Google search shows that many are affected by this problem. When you put your phone in your trousers, it could unlock if you put the screen facing your body.I believe the solution for it involves the smartness of the devs to use the proximity sensor to gate whether the device unlocks or not while in the pocket or in the bag for that matter. Some not-so-smart suggestions I have seen:- turn off swipe to unlock - defeats the purpose of the swipe up to unlock feature- put the phone in the pocket with the screen facing out - doesn't happen all the time- enable a password - this does not work for two reasons: firstly, there is no power button instantly locks feature, so in the minimum time it takes to lock (1 minute), it can be unlocked by your leg. 2nd, if the wrong password is entered 10 times, which can happen in a pocket, your device gets wiped. And I can't change this setting because it is set by my exchange server rules. So please, please, use the proximity sensor to determine if the device should swipe to unlock.I've tested an Android (Asus Zenfone 2, specifically) which has a double-tap to wake feature, and it smartly does not wake when I cover the proximity sensor with my hand. I hope this bug gets fixed in the next release.

  • Can't tether D3S in Lightroom 4.3 on ASUS laptop.

I have a Nikon D3S and I can't get tethered shooting to work in lightroom4.3, although it does see the D3s CF card for importing images. Tried all three usb ports, same result. running Windows 7 home premium. ASUS laptup w i5 processor. Identical desktop ASUS works in tether mode every time using same camera and usb cable. I have run through the tips sheet available from Adobe but no luck.
Any help would be so appreciated!!

    Hello Victoria,
Thanks for your reply to my Adobe forum question about Lightroom, and sorry for not replying ssoner - your email had gone into my spam folder and I have only just seen it. Yes it's all sorted and working properly again now, and I've also mamaged to spot how I had inadvertently caused the problem in the first place by clicking on one of the folders on the right hand side of the screen when ticking / unticking photos for import. This had changed the destination folder to an unreachable or inadmissable folder.
    Thanks again for your time.

  • Blue Screen of Death in LightRoom 3.6

I recently built a PC for photo editing, and I am receiving the BSOD at different points when Lightroom is open. The first time it happened was when I was moving about 1000 raw files from one folder to another (did it twice to me doing that). From there, I grabbed the latest video card driver from Nvidia, and I also went into the bios and set my memory back to "Auto" rather than 1600 (which is what it's rated for). Thought maybe it was hardware related. Everything was going fine, I did some editing, and then while it was just sitting there with LR3 open, I got the BSOD again.
Any help would be much appreciated as I have invest a good amount into this machine for the purpose of photo editing, and I can't have this happening. Please let me know if you have any other questions that I can answer.

    CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION (109)
This bugcheck is generated when the kernel detects that critical kernel code or
data have been corrupted. There are generally three causes for a corruption:
    1) A driver has inadvertently or deliberately modified critical kernel code
    or data. See http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/driver/kernel/64bitPatching.mspx
    2) A developer attempted to set a normal kernel breakpoint using a kernel
debugger that was not attached when the system was booted. Normal breakpoints,
"bp", can only be set if the debugger is attached at boot time. Hardware
breakpoints, "ba", can be set at any time.
    3) A hardware corruption occurred, e.g. failing RAM holding kernel code or data.

Test your memory. There are free standalone memory testers for PCs. MemTest comes to mind. If it's a new PC, bad memory is a distinct possibility. Lightroom can push it pretty hard.

  • Graphics Card for Lightroom and also CS2 and Maybe CS3

Hi. I am still using a PC I build about 3 years ago with a ASUS P4PE mother board. It has been very good but I am wondering if it is best to now change to a later PC or, upgrade.
I have used 1GB Ram and just got another IGB to install, but my real concern is with the Graphics Card. At present I have a Matrox Millenium G550 which as I recall has just 32MB Ram. At the time this was considered one of the best, if not the best card for 2D Images. However, I now see 256 and 512 Ram cards as norm, but they always refer to being cards for games. I never have and never will wish to play any games on a PC. So advice needed please, what is considered the best Graphics Card for Photoshop CS2 and now Lightroom?
Incidently my Processor is just a P4 2.66 this has served me well so far, but!! I maywell get another PC but for now I feel I just want to try the best upgrades I can.
This is my first post here and look forward to your answers and advice.
    All the best, Ron dps.

The high-powered graphic processors being sold today are fantastic for games but offer zero improvement for digital photo editing. What you have is more than enough. Increasing your SDRAM to 2GB will help the most.

  • Advice needed on monitor for Photoshop and Lightroom use

Hi. I am aserious amature photographer wishing to move to the next level and sell some of my work.
I just had a custom pc built to work with the new copies of Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3 I bought (lots or RAM and HD space, ssd, etc....)
The last piece of my system is to purchase a monitor. I want to be somewhere in the better then Best Buy but less than NEC/Eizo range in price, or between $500 - $900. I have worked with cameras since the early 80's and moved to digital several years ago but the only post processing I have done is with Photoshop Elements.  I would be doing mostly prints to sell but also need to have a web site to do so. Will also use the pc for daily net surfing... but do not game or watch a lot of video on the pc.
Being really new to this whole process I have a few questions.
The first thing I need to decide is whether I need to look for a wide gamut display or not.
I realize the whole chain must be 10 bit (Adobe -OS - graphics driver - graphics card - display port.
I have Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3, Win7 64 bit, Zotac ZT 50701 10M video card (which uses GeForce GTX 560  fermi and an nvidia chipset. It does have displayport). I am having a hard time determining whether my video card actually supports wide gamut (10bit).
Standard vs Wide Gamut? Is wide gamut important enough to deal with the issues it brings (calibration, viewing things other than PS and LR or color managed, which appear to be rare?) Is sRGB good enough for most prints (don't do fine art, mostly nature and portraits but starting to do some HRD things). If wide gamut is the way to go I have no problem with that and have the time to learn about calibration, color management, etc... But I also want to make sure the juice is worth the squeeze.
24" vs 27"? Is there any advantage to one or the other when editing photos?
IPS vs PLS? I realize they are similar but are there differences worth noting?
Glossy vs Matte Anti-Glare? seems to be a lot of comments regarding the anti-glare coating, mostly poor. Yet I can see issues using a glossy screen in my study with a window to my back.
One manufacturer vs another? I realize Eizo, NEC and LaCie are at the top of the heap. But with my budget, after upgrading my pc and camera equipment, I can't make that work now. So I need to choose from the next group down (Dell, HP, Samsung, Asus...)
One or two monitors? It looks like many (mid-grade) wide gamut monitors do a lousy job of displaying anything but color managed sites. Is that necessarily true of all the mid-grades? Or can some be used for graphics but as well for routine net surfing, MS Office, etc...? Or am I better off getting two monitors, one for graphics and one for the rest? That would pretty much limit me to 24" or less given my budget (used to using a Dell 21" TN monitor that oddly crapped out just as my new pc was done).
The more I read reviews the more confusing it gets. There seems to be a difference of opinion even among pros on whether to go wide gamut or stick with an easier sRGB. Realizing a standard gamut monitor would be cheaper, I do want to make the right decision up front, given my budget.
The one thing I have found astounding is that there is nowhere to actually see many of the monitors I am considering. We live in Nashville TN but my wife is from Atlanta Ga so we drove there a few weeks ago to visit family and for me to visit monitor shops. Even the largest ones there (Fry's and Microcenter) had minimal IPS monitors, a few Dells and HP's. The knowledge of their sales folks was so poor I finally gave up. Felt bad about this until I posted this on another board and got a reply from a guy in LA (second largest city in the US) that he wanted to see a particular monitor and there was no place even there to do so.
Anyhow, here is what I have considered:
24" Wide Gamut: Dell U2410 and Asus PA246Q. Dells appear to be good IF you get a good one. The Asus appears to be a clone of the Dell that gets a lot of good press.
27" Wide Gamut: Dell U2711 that also gets a ton of good reviews
24: Standard Gamut: Dell U2412 and HP ZR2440.
27" Standard Gamut: Samsung S27A850D and Apple Cinema- The Samsung uses PLS technology versus IPS while the Apple is a glossy screen that will work with a pc.
Sorry for the long post. Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Not trying to talk you out of setting up a 10 bit pipeline, but it's still not very mature, and it really isn't a necessity to get a good editing experience.
Personally I find advantage in using two 4:3 ratio monitors for Photoshop work.  All my panels are on the right monitor, while pretty much the entire left one shows the Photoshop main window and the working canvas space.  My desktop is 3200 x 1200 pixels overall, and I find having the panels remain visible all the time is important.
Regarding whether a wide gamut is important...  Will you be printing to devices that deliver a wide gamut?  What other things will you be doing with your system?
It's not a no-brainer whether a wider gamut monitor is always "better" for everything, since it can accentuate the differences between the output from color-managed and non-color-managed applications, and it's definitely true that not everything is color-managed.  With a monitor that's close to sRGB, for example, you might find Internet Explorer output acceptable, while using a wide gamut monitor will result in garishly oversaturated IE displays.  On the other hand, FireFox (with a settings tweak) seems to get color management right, so there is an alternative.
I think, as John has implied above, you should work to get your head completely around how color-management works, soup to nuts.  If you don't, there will always be things that are a mystery or which surprise you at the wrong times.  Being able to order a print and have it come back with the expected color can be very important, as you might imagine.

  • Lightroom 5.5 Color Over-Saturation in Develop (Normal in Library)

So I started running into this problem last night. Any photos hat have particularly bright spots, or a large contrast range form these patches of pure red, green or blue. It seems like red forms wherever the photos approach 'near-white', blue where it is 'near black', and I have yet to determine what causes the green (it is far less common). But this is across all of my photos. Even the old ones that I know are alright - have gone to print and have not been adjusted since. But this only happens when viewing the photo in develop mode, in library mode the photos always display correctly. I've attached images to demonstrate.
    Develop mode:
The same photo in Library mode:
I don't know if you can see in the develop image, but the front grill is speckled with blue pixels, as well as inside the wheel hubs, this car's windshield, and on the windshield of the left-most car across the street. If I drop the exposure, the blue speckling becomes more prevalent (red splotches shrink). If I increase it, the red splotches grow (blue speckling decreases). This happens with daytime photos as well, but usually just with the reds, and occasionally the greens. I've yet to run into green splotches on a nighttime photo.
I use a Nikon D7100 exclusively at the moment. I always import to my computer using Lightroom's tool. I am on Windows 8.1 64-bit, using an nVidia (EVGA) GTX 760, 16Gb of ram, an Intel Core i7 3770k. I've already done a clean reinstall of my graphics drivers, but I stopped short of a Lightroom reinstall. The NEFs themselves display perfectly inside of Irfanview 4.36. I wanted to test to see if it was a general Adobe issue, or just Lightroom, but I also discovered that my PS CS4 is now refusing to open NEFs - "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document". This could be a separate issue, or it might be related because they started happening at the same time - never had a problem opening an NEF from my D7100 in photoshop, but it's been a couple months since I've last had to go into photoshop to do editing for a shot.
The only other change I can think of is I ditched my second monitor in a recent move. But that one was my secondary monitor, going through a DVI-VGA adapter. It was old, flickered a little when displaying a darker image, and I'm pretty sure it's reds never displayed correctly. It was never used for anything more than hosting a library grid. And yes, I've checked my calibration of my monitor 24" Asus. The exact model number escapes me at the moment (ASUS isn't the best at labeling model numbers on their product), but it's a few years old.
    Any thoughts?

You have the clipping indicators activated, red for highlight clipping and blue for shadow clipping.
Click the little triangles at the dark and light ends of the histogram to toggle the clipping warnings on and off.
