Async os 6.5.1

Just after the new year started, I upgraded my first of three x1050s to 6.5.0. A few days later after no issues were encountered by this first upgrade, I processed upgrades to my remaining two X's and my M. Unfortunately, on one of these X's I upgraded straight to 6.5.1. Fast forward a few days and another admin went to recreate the cluster, to process some rules, and encountered the out of sync AsyncOSs. A panic ensues and upgrades are applied to the remaining three, all to 6.5.1.
I ran this past through a support ticket and found the actual problem with another MTAs TLS config. Here we check for TLS and require if available. Outside MTAs is available but broken. Prior to upgrades, unsecure email processed through to my internal users without issue. After the upgrades, all messages failed. Support reports that they attempted email with this domain using earlier Async OS versions and all comm still failed.
Allegedly no change on outside MTA. They have broken TLS, know it, have experienced it with other MTAs as well. They are not fixing their corrupt TLS deployment. However, unsecure still worked. Outside MTA domain is sigc.us.
Are my tracking logs gone after an AsyncOS upgrade? Can I recover?
Was TLS enhanced to fail with broken outside TLS config, from 6.4.x to 6.5.1?
6.5.1 is a maintenance release? Should I be running it?
Can I get the bound version of the Ironport AsyncOS 6.5 users guide and advanced users guide? Can I download? I have 5.1 literature. I'd really like to get my ironports dialed in to 6.5.x.
Thanks,
-bear

So I take it from thsi that all systems in the cluster are now running 6.5.1-004, and the cluster is intact?
Absolutely. No problems really before or after the upgrade, and once the cluster was recreated after the final 6.5.1-004 push, everything has been characteristcally stable.
By require if available, do you mean TLS preferred-verify? And by all messages, you mean all messages to one domain? It sounds like you should get back in touch with support. They will have access to your configuration.
Actually just prefer. No verify. By all messages, I mean all messages from sigc.us to us (all messages from anyone to us [we listen for a few domains] we prefer TLS). I think support did what they could, and did a great job at that. I'm just stuck in this "it worked/didn't work quandry," with the only definite change being me upgrading. Without the worked/didn't work data slice, everything support provided is spot on. Sigc.us' TLS is broken..that's not in dispute. It's the behaviour now of my ironports, to their error, that appears to have changed. I have added a destination control specifically for this domain, to not use TLS but these one off fixes trouble me.
Your tracking logs should survive an upgrade. Whether you still have data from prior to the upgrade will depend on your mail volume. The tracking database will purge the oldest records when it gets full.
OK. I only seem to be going back to my upgrade date. Actually rechecking my tracking history has shrunk. Now only goes back a little more then a week. That's another obstacle, as I haven't been able to confirm the sigc.us report of success prior to the upgrade.
There were no enhancements or bug fixes that would cause the appliance to be more picky about who to send encrypted mail to. If the remote MTA advertises STARTTLS, we will attempt to negotiate a TLS connection. There are a number of reasons this can fail. If you are using TLS Required, the mail will be bounced. If it is TLS Preferred, then it will be delivered plain text.
There's my problem. It doesn't revert to plain text, it just fails. Like this:
Message 109885282 to [email protected] received remote SMTP response '2.6.0 <49F384F3EE03C14886B2F0F78A53B5432FB803> Queued mail for delivery'.
I don't even think a hard or soft bounce occurs? Just no one receives it.
Absolutely. If you saw it in early January, you must have been on the early availability list. Just this week we released it to all customers.
Whew...
How did this work? We defintitely didn't request anything. What's the early availability list inclusion criteria?
You can see all of the Documentation in the online help on your appliance. You can alos download PDFs from the Support Portal. If you prefer the printed copies, I'll check and see how you can order that.
I'd love the printed versions if available for a reasonable price. Downloads are adequate, but there's nothing quite like a well creased and dog-eared bound reference on my bookshelf.
Thanks Karl.

  • MochiKit.Async.XMLHttpRequestError Error while invoking a hyperlink

    Hi,
    I have a report , which has a sub report embedded in it . IN the sub report, there is a filed, that has a hyper link. The hyperlinks is  this
    "https://myserver.com/myportal/generateDocument?reportLink=true&filePath=" + CurrentFieldValue
    and when I hover the mouse over the field, the console shows up
    javascript.parent.bobj.event.publish('hyperlinked','MyReport','urs=https%3A%2F%2Fmyserver.com%2Fportal%2FgenerateDocument%3FreportLink%3Dtrue%26filePath%3DNTkxNA%3D%3D&target=_self')
    When I click on the link, the error message pops up
    Unable to process your request
    message: Request failed
    number: 0
    name: MochiKit.Async.XMLHttpRequestError
    but , the document opens .It is a pdf document , which is suppose to be opened, and it opens up. But I get the error message.
    Any clues how to suppress the error message pop-up window ?
    Thanks

    Try this,
    Do not launch the sub-report from the main report, rather open the sub report by itself from infoview and try to perform the action. I assume something may be happening in the Opendoc. if you can narrow it down to opendoc, then you can work on how you need to build the opendoc URL.
    Just need to do the natural troubleshooting.
    try to open the sub report in Webi righ client and publish it back, see if it fixes anything. I googled and found something about post back issues and that seems to be a problem. There are a few links on good when i searched using "MochiKit.Async.XMLHttpRequestError", they should help you or at the least give you a direction.

  • In BPM sync/async Step , can you have different message schema?

    Scenario:
    File to XI to BPM to SOAP to RFC
    In order to trigger the  webservice , I use  a dummy file which will be polled at a certain frequency- once in 30 minutes in Test mode - this will call the Webservice. The answer of webservice is sent to RFC Async.
    so these  are the Repository objects I created :
    1. File  Outbound Async Message Interface- Output Message (File_Request_MT)
    2.File Abstract Message Interface-Output Message (File_Request_MT)
    3.Async/ sync bridge Abstract interface to call the Webservice
    4 Webservice Inbound Sync Message interface-  with both input and output message
    5.RFC Inbound Async message interface- input message (RFC_Request)
    6 RFC Abstract Async Message interface-input message (RFC_Request)
    BPM
    a) Receive step  which uses the  the object 2.
    b) Sync send which uses object 3
    c) Send  step which uses Object 5
    I am using a BPM to Receive the file data/ "request " by using the File abstract message interface
    Then use the  the object  3 to call the webservice in BPM .
    My question is on this step
    Can I have for  the abstract Interface(Object 3) the Request message  as  File_Request_MT and
    response message as (RFC_Request) ?
    I  use a message mapping  to map Input and Ouput message of Object 3 with Object 4.

    I created a message type MT_SOAP_RESPONSE and used that in the BPM sync Send step as the Input message.

  • Unable to capture in Async Hot Log

    Hi,
    I am unable to get the changes captured in async hot log mode of operation. Have verified that DB is in archivelog mode and am able to create change tables, but changes in the source table are not getting propagated. Is it due to logs not getting picked up from the proper place.
    my change_sources view has empty values in all the fields except source_type, source_description and created.
    would appreciate any pointers for what may be missing..or how to go about identifying the problem.
    Thanks,
    RK

    Thank you Patrick. You have helped me before, so thanks again.
    I do not have anything else connected to the firewire ports. I have an external hard drive, but I have tried to capture with and without the hard drive attached. I did recently back up using Carbon Copy Cloner to another hard drive, if anyone thinks this may be the issue.
    I can't recall the exact error message in FCP (I have deleted the program trying to fix the issue, and focus on the capture problem in Quicktime thinking that if Quicktime and iMovie both don't capture, that the problem is not with FCP, but either with the OS or the back end of QT) I can re-install FCP to give you the exact FCP error message if you would like me too. Ie, if the exact error message is necessary.
    Thanks again for your response.

  • Async tcp client and server. How can I determine that the client or the server is no longer available?

    Hello. I would like to write async tcp client and server. I wrote this code but a have a problem, when I call the disconnect method on client or stop method on server. I can't identify that the client or the server is no longer connected.

    Hi,
    Have you debug these two applications? Does it go into the catch exception block when you close the client or the server?
    According to my test, it will throw an exception when the client or the server is closed, just log the exception message in the catch block and then you'll get it:
    private async void Process()
    try
    while (true)
    var data = await this.Receive();
    this.NewMessage.Invoke(Encoding.ASCII.GetString(data));
    catch (Exception exception)
    Console.WriteLine(exception.Message);
    Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing   connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
    By the way, I don't know what the SafeInvoke method is, it may be an extension method, right? I used Invoke instead to test it.

  • Interface Problem Sync/Async (Open Bridge)

    Hello everyone,
    we made the migration from PI 7 to PI 7.01 EHP1 SP7.
    After this migration, the Sync interface with BPM (Opens Bridge), began to give trouble.
    It turns out that the interface in SMQ2 stand still for a long time, and after some time, timeout error occurs.
    In transaction SXMS_SAMON, I noticed that some processes are in timeout.
    It seems the problem is that the interfaces are entering the SMQ2, in PI can not sue for any reason.
    Has also altered the value of the parameter CHECK_FOR_MAX_SYNC_CALLS most did not.
    Does anyone have any idea how we can solve this problem ?
    Thank you all.
    Marlon

    Interface Mapping is between SOAP Request <--> Your XML message Request Response.
    Only one interface mapping is required.
    Message Interface Required
    1. SOAP Synchronous
    2. XML Request Async
    3. XML Resp Async
    4. XML Message Request Response Sync

  • Questions on async and sync's unit tests

    Hi All
    I write a API project and that have sync and async method.
    Then I also write a unit tests for them.
    What I want to ask is how to write them is better ?
    public abstract class ApiProxyBase
            protected async Task<T>
    GetDataAsync<T>(IRestRequest restRequest, bool ignoreSslCertificateValidation
    = true) where T
    : ApiResponse, new()
            protected T
    GetData<T>(IRestRequest restRequest, bool ignoreSslCertificateValidation
    = true  where T
    : ApiResponse, new();
       public class GameServerApiProxy : ApiProxyBase, IGameServerApiProxy
    async Task<GetGameRedirectResponse>
    GetGameRedirectAsync(GetGameRedirectRequest request) ;
        public GetGameRedirectResponse GetGameRedirect(GetGameRedirectRequest request)
        public class GameServerApiProxyTest : TestsBase
            [Test]
            public async void Can_Get_Game_RedirectUrl_Async()
                await LogIn();
                var response
    = await _gameServerApiProxy.GetGameRedirectAsync(new GetGameRedirectRequest());
                response.Url.Should().NotBeNull();
                LogOut();
            [Test]
            public void Can_Get_Game_RedirectUrl()
                LogInSync();
                var response
    = _gameServerApiProxy.GetGameRedirect(new GetGameRedirectRequest());
                response.Url.Should().NotBeNull();
                LogOut();

    I have an
    article on asynchronous unit testing. I'd say your async unit test method should be async Task and not async void. Other than that, it looks good. In particular, since your interface has both synchronous and asynchronous APIs, you should have tests for
    both of them.

  • How can I monitor async requests in OSB

    Hello everybody,
    I have to set an async with response call to my legacy application. But as OSB does not support async calls with response yet, I'll use this approach described here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/jpdtransport/transport.html#wp1102152 that tells me to set up one proxy that will make the request to the legacy application, and another proxy to handle the callback (my application will call this one manually when it finishes the process).
    But, doing this, I'll have two distinct transactions, two distinct proxies, and no "natural" correlation between them. I need to set some correlation that allows me to create one SLA alert when the requisition takes more than X minutes. I already thought on sending the transaction id ($messageID) to my legacy application and have it returned to the response proxy. But doing this, I would still have no link between the information (when started, etc) of request proxy.
    Well, that is what I need to get done. Some way on measuring the execution time (in SLA Alerts) of my service. How this could be done?
    Thanks a lot guys.

    1) OSB is efficient in stateless point to point invocation/message enrichment but this problem appears to be use case in orchestration which is better addressed by BPEL.
    2) SLA alerts in OSB are designed to work at a single proxy level. Using SLA alert framework in OSB for your use case is not possible.
    3) At other level OSB also does not expose metrics (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/jmx_monitoring/concepts.html) that will allow you to do this type of correlation using external java program.
    My two cents

  • How to handle more than one message coming from an async BPEL in a sync BPEL process?

    Here is the scenario,
    Sync process A is calling an Async process B and Async process B  is developed in such a way that it is returning more than one message to sync process A, how you will handle those messages in sync process A?

    As durga said, its a wrong design, you will have issues in real time. You wont get the response back most of the time. It can be otherway around, async is waiting for sync process.
    Change your design or provide what is your use case below, we can think of which design suits you.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • Sender rfc..async rfc to file scenario

    Since im new to XI...Can you please give a overview of the whole scenario which meets the  requirements... wrapping 1 rfc in another and then passing the final export parameters to a file using XI..
    ->i refered to       Re: XI : RFC Response Mapping
    also to the blogs 1438 and 3865.
    but the things r so abstract as to how to triggger the rfcs..
    Is it like calling the first rfc frm an abap pgm n calling the second one from first ...the only way?? How to achieve this?
    ->In what cases do we need this wrapping??
    Is there any way as to just pass the export parameters of a single rfc to a file using xi.
    ->Dont know whr to start the scenario to work out...even  the mappings are confusing...

    For implementing Sender RFC: (yet to work on this)
    1) We cannot use all the BAPI/RFC as is while doing an Async sender RFC.
    2) We should use a wrapper around this BAPI/RFC and it should be a custom RFC again.
    3) All the data that you need in XI for mapping should be passed through exporting or tables only.
    4) Importing parameters should be commented.
    5) Call this custom RFC in BACKGROUND TASK with DESTINATION. COMMIT WORK after calling custom RFC.
    6) Create RFC destination with Program ID same as the program ID in your communication channel.
    7) Import your custom RFC into repository.
    8) Use the custom RFC(request not response) as interface in all your agreements and interface mapping,
        message mapping.
    That should be all the steps. You should get your data in receiver adapter.

  • SOAP Sender Async Scenario - return message

    In SAP Note, it is provided
    <i>Q. What should my web service return to the adapter for asynchronous calls?
    A: Currently, the receiver adapter expects an HTTP 200 with a SOAP envelope with an empty content for successful delivery. Any other response will result in a XI system error and triggers retries of the message.</i>
    Instead of envelope with empty content, if i want an element, say, : <Result>The Result</Result>, then do i need to add only the response message, or any other modification is also required?
    Thanks,
    Prateek

    Hi,
    As soon as you want a response message, it becomes a synchronous interface.Asynchronous interfaces will fail if a response message is provided and PI will keep trying to resend a number of times. Everything would look ok in SXI_MONITOR but if you checked the message in the RWB, you would see an APPLICATION FAULT being raised.
    So you will need to amend PI accordingly to reflect this change.
    You will need to change:
    1. New data type for response
    2. New message type for response
    3. Change interface from being async to synch
    4. Create message mapping for response
    5. Amend interface mapping for response
    Cheers
    Colin.

  • Error from BPE Adapter using in Async Sync scenario

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use a Asyn Sync pattern with BPM:
    1)File adapter get a file from AS400, split it several XML messages and send to XI(Async)
    2)XI get each message and forward to BPM using XI adapter
    3)BPM has to send the message to R/3 via BAPI (Sync)
    4)R/3 reply the result message to BPM(Sync)
    5)BPM has to send the result message to e-mail system if an error had occurred in BAPI call (Async)
    When I send directly from File adapter to R/3 works like a charm, but when I want use the BPM, a soap header error says to me, that cannot identify a data type that I’m using in the message sent by File adapter.
    The error that I'm getting is BPE Adapter UNKNOWN_MESSAGE in soap header.

    Eduardo

    I got the same problem after installing new patches.
    This is what I had to do:
    Go to SXI_CACHE
    - Choose Business Processes
    - select your Buisness Process
    If your buisness process has Return Code 99
    - Click "Repeate Activate" button
    - On the next screen, click Activate again.
    This worked for me. Good Luck!

  • File-SOAP-File Async/Sync Bridge : Null Pointer Exception

    Hi All,
    I have a File-SOAP-File scenario (Async/Sync Bridge). This scenario was working fine in PI 7.0. However since the time we have upgraded to PI 7.1, this scenario has been failing.
    I do receive a response for web service, however the sender File adapter fails after initiating Response bean.

    Hi,
    Please go through all the settings for the modules once again - check for any space or other such character present or if some name is not correctly specified.
    If you still get the error, then make some change to the channel and re-activate.
    Also, make sure you are following the below sequence in the sender file channel-
    ModuleName                                                   Type              ModuleKey
    AF_Modules/RequestResponseBean      Local Enterprise Bean     1
    CallSapAdapter                                        Local Enterprise Bean     2
    AF_Modules/ResponseOnewayBean     Local Enterprise Bean     3
    Parameters
    ModuleKey                    ParameterName                   ParameterValue
    1                                       passThrough                          true
    3                                        receiverChannel                Receiver File Adapter Name
    3                                        receiverService                  Receiver Business Service
    Hope this helps.

  • Dynamic configuration in Sync/Async bridge in JMS

    Hi
    Scenario:
    Portal sending request to JMS MQ and getting Response using sync/Async Bridge.
    I have to written a UDF which will capture the value for cust_uid from request mapping and store it in dynamic configuration
    And when the response comes from JMS MQu2026.this value gets populated in response mapping.
    I have tested the UDF in a dummy Soap2rfc scenario and its working fine.
    But when used in Sync/Async Bridge, the dynamic configuration  fails.
    For Sync/Async Bridge, there are 2 channels 1) Sender JMS 2) receiver JMS.
    The synchronous request is converted to an asynchronous request in the module processor and sent.
    The asynchronous system sends a response to a sender adapter. In the module processor of the sender adapter, this response is forwarded to the module processor of the original receiver adapter, where it is sent as a synchronous response of the waiting synchronous request.
    Please  suggest
    Regards
    Abhijit

    Hi Abhijit,
    Okay, so your data extraction/insertion is working fine for a simple synchronous request responser call.
    I suppose this is working fine because your receiver adapter copies some part of the request message (at least the dc header) to the response message. (But I don't think this always works for all the adapter types). It is not working for the sync-async bridge because there are two unrelated messages in this case.
    In order to copy the dc header from the first message to the second message, I think you can use the DynamicConfiguraitionBean module to store the dc header value in the module data and use this module again to recover it and set it to the second message. The whole process is somewhat complicated, but I will sketch the approach below.
    First, let's call the first use of DCB the store step and the second the recover step. These store and recover steps must take place in the same module sequence so that they can use the module data to pass data from the first message to the second message. Furthermore, the store step must occur after the cust_id value is extracted into the dc header. So, your configuration must be placed in the receiver adapter side. Assuming the request message with the filled dc header coming into the module sequence, the first DCB module can be placed before the ROB module to store the dc header value in the module data. And the second DCB module can be placed after the WRB module to recover the dc header value from the module data and set it the dc header of the response message.
    I hope this will work.

  • How to call RFC in Async Mode using TCP/IP RFC Destination ?

    Hi experts,
         Can anybody tell me how to call an Async RFC using TCP/IP RFC Destination ?

    It says
    <b> For asynchronous calls, no connection to external systems is possible (TCP/IP connections in transaction SM59).</b>
