At a CRAWL here in 23113 at .5 or less MB/s

on terminal hold with support - any other Richmond/Midlothian issues out there?

I have the same issue. I think it may be related to cold weather. I am now inside writing this without plugging it in immediately after it repeatedly shut off outside with ~18% battery. This is really bad. It almost left me stranded as I was expecting to call for a ride.

  • Safari hangs and hangs

My home page is Aol.com. After that opens and it usually opens right away whenever I type in another url or click on a bookmark Safari 5 just hangs and eventually tells me that the page can't be opened or located or something but then if I hit the re load button it then loads and then hangs a little later. I've tried lots of things like emptying cache and updating flash to 10.1 and permissions etc. I hoped to find an answer here but haven't. I called apple and they couldn't figure it out either. Any idea? I tried going back to safari 4 but that started hanging too all of a sudden then that stopped and I re installed 5 again and now it's happening again. This is on my new 21.5" imac. I'm not putting this on my macbook till I solve this.

(First, if yours is an Intel Mac, check that Safari is not running in Rosetta, which is enough to slow it to a crawl. If you are running Snow Leopard, try running Safari in 32 bit not 64 bit (some of your plug-ins may not work in 64 bit). Control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode)
Do you have enough RAM? Less than 1GB can cause slowness. Is your hard drive too full? Less than 15%, or 15GB, of free space can also cause slowness.
If you use a router, does it have the latest firmware installed? Safari 5 introduced 'DNS Prefetching' (Safari looks up the addresses of links on webpages and can load those pages faster) which could strain some routers or modems producing a 'latency' in page loading. This was fixed in Safari 5.0.2, but you may see a benefit from getting a faster router or modem. You can read more about that here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3408?viewlocale=en_US
Adding DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security:
If you are using a single computer: Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2296
If your computer is part of a network: please refer to this page: http://www.opendns.com/start/bestpractices/#yournetwork and follow the advice given.
(An explanation of why using Open DNS is both safe and a good idea can be read here: http://www.labnol.org/internet/tools/opendsn-what-is-opendns-why-required-2/2587 /
Wikipedia also has an interesting article about Open DNS:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenDNS
Whilst in System Preferences/Network you should also turn off 'IPv6' in your preference pane, as otherwise you may not get the full speed benefit (the DNS resolver will default to making SRV queries). If you want to know what IPv6 is:
This is Apple's guidance on iPv6:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8708.html
Click on Apply Now and close the window.
    Restart Safari, and repair permissions.
Also, third-party add-ons created for a previous version of Safari may cause problems:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3230?viewlocale=en_US
If that didn't do it, then try this as well:
Empty Safari's cache (from the Safari menu), then close Safari.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:
    form values
    download.plist
Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete
    com.apple.Safari.plist
    Repair permissions (in Disk Utility).
Start up Safari again, and things should have improved.
    More useful information here:
    http://guides.macrumors.com/SpeedupSafari
Less likely, but possible, is that the slowness is caused by a Trojan such as the one called 'DNSChanger' or 'OSZ.RSPlug', which can alter the DNS settings of your network connection. This particular Trojan can be inadvertently installed if you have come across certain Quicktime movies where got a window stating that you have to download and install a particular codec in order to see the video.
If you have agreed to that installation, your system can be infected and your DNS settings altered, which results in your system using the wrong DNS servers, which can slow web surfing to a crawl.
This can be fixed by downloading and running a freeware utility called DNSChanger Removal Tool which you can download from here:
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/33696
Once you have run that utility you have to re-boot your Mac, then reset Safari, and re-enter your DNS settings in System Preferences/Network.

  • GATHER_STALE_STATS_JOB issue.

    Hello All,
We are running 11.1.0.7.0 hosting on HP UX box. From last 2 days, we were made aware of the database slowness. Once, we tried to analyze, the GATHER_STALE_STATS_JOB was overrunning. earlier , it used to run in no time. we also noticed the session running the job experienced "library cache lock" wait events. we then stopped the job and database performance was back to normal. we also extracted the sql_id from AWR for the most time spent. Also, from the AWR , the wait , which spent most of the time waiting was "library cache lock". Just wondering , what caused this job to run crawl here. I also extracted the plan of the sql , which waits most of the time for "library cache lock" and it turn out pretty gigantic. will also paste that on board.
I will really appreciate your valuable inputs.
Note :- Had to omit the predicate part to the server the limit of maximum charecters.

The gather stats task should run in the overnight and weekend window so unless someone launched a gather stats task during the day it should not be your problem. That is unless you are seeing the issue at night and it goes away once the stats job terminated for the day.
You should be able to look at the memory management views to see if the note from Oracle about automatic memory managment granule migration being a potential cause of the waits applies. If it looks like you have issues in this area you could set reasonable minimum pool sizes to prevent Oracle from overdoing the memory migrations and see if that helps.
Naturally you should also look at the query plan and try to determine if it is the same plan the query would have been using last week. Check the tables/indexes to see when the statistics were last updated for the object and note if any were just changed while the others were not. Sometimes a change to one objects effects what the CBO expects to find in relation to how many rows in one object correspond to how many qualifying rows in another and you need the objects to have statistics collected at the same time.
A big question is, is the problem database wide or actually limited to a specific query or application process.

  • Just moved to ISP PLUSNET and now loading web pages is dead slow

Just moved to ISP PLUSNET and now loading web pages is dead slow.
Like loading google will sometimes take 30 seconds to 1 minute but it used to load in a fraction of a second on my previous ISP.
Sometimes a new URL will take over a minute so I hit Stop Loading This Page and then try again and sometimes it might load instantly, or if not, it might continue to just drag on again.
It's so frustrating it's like being back on dial-up connection - but worse.
It feels like PLUSNET have put something on my Mac to slow it down.
PLUSNET has a restriction on how much I can use per month, which my previous ISP did not have, but according to PLUSNET's usage checker I am nowhere near the max, ie, I am allowed 10GB per month but the checker is showing I have used less than 100 MB so far this month.
I wonder if the PLUSNET usage checker is slowing down my usage coz it's really noticeable that it has only started to run slow since I moved to PLUSNET.
When I run a broadband speed check it always shows the feed coming in at around 5500 kbps or so which should be OK.
PLUSNET told me to go through their test page and I got to the part where it says install a Virus checker and an Adware checker but I'm not sure which ones to use coz I heard some of those checkers are themselves plants that infect you with a virus or keystroke logger.
Also I have Block Pop UP Windows running on Safari but yesterday a window popped up so that blocker seems to have been compromised somehow.
I have 17GB available on my HD of a total of 38GB.
Can anyone help me with this problem please?

(First, if yours is an Intel Mac, check that Safari is not running in Rosetta, which is enough to slow it to a crawl. If you are running Snow Leopard, run Safari in 32 bit not 64 bit.)
Adding DNS codes to your Network Settings, should gives good results in terms of speed-up:
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu. Click on TCP/IP and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' enter the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(An explanation of why that is both safe and a good idea can be read here: http://www.labnol.org/internet/tools/opendsn-what-is-opendns-why-required-2/2587 /
Open DNS also provides an anti-phishing feature: http://www.opendns.com/solutions/homenetwork/anti-phishing/ )

  • Spinning disk only in Safari

I have been experiencing the spinning disc very frequently (very nearly every time I try to perform any action in Safari, even typing in a text field.) when using Safari, and no other application.
It has been happening for at least two major versions of Safari and OS X, and persisted after a complete reinstall of the operating system.
It happens regardless of how many tabs are open, it can happen as I start to type in the address bar in a freshly started instance of Safari in a fresh boot of OS X.
I do not have regular spinning discs when using any other application which access either the network or the hard drives (Firefox, Chrome, Finder, etc...) And the hard drive is free from errors and not making any strange noises. The network speed is also good.
Anyone have any ideas? Cause I don't.

(First, if yours is an Intel Mac, check that Safari is not running in Rosetta, which is enough to slow it to a crawl. If you are running Snow Leopard, try running Safari in 32 bit not 64 bit.

  • Re: Slow broadband speed and freezes 1 hour early ...

Im up in the Colonies and get the same. Moved off of O2 LLU to Sky (BTW) because I didnt want their phone service. Had the same problem as you just about every night after that. Now on BT Broadband and its still the same. Obviously something wrong with the BTW port/switch/card.
BT "don't know" whats wrong..........not good enough! Ive worked in IT for over 25 years, the probs obviously at the exchange end....so over to BT.

    UPDATE;
Two Openreach Engineers have called. First one didn't complete a "lift & shift" despite being instructed to do so by very nice lady in Newcastle. Result = still slowing down to a crawl at night! and I mean less than dial up.
    So here's the facts now
9 years with O2 in their LLU which eventually joins BT Wholesale Backbone - no issues.
6 months with SKY whilst still in the same equipment - no issues.
Removed from LLU and plonked in BT port (didn't want SkyTalk) - slows to a crawl at night.
Joined BT Broadband Unlimited (in for a penny etc) - slows to a crawl at night and SNR increased.
Moved to another card at the exchange - slows to a crawl at night and SNR increased.
So......either BT Broadband are throttling and fibbing, or they aren't and BTWholesale are responsible, or Alcatel/Lucent CWMP are making a mess of things as well. (The logs show that they like to go in round about the same times)
Oh...and the engineer stated that at the time of my slowdown they are missing a two hour chunk of data at the logs on their end! Heh......methinks someone is playing with their management systems.
In a nutshell - no issues or problems until my association with BT equipment.
An explanation would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath!

  • Safari not loading sites and generally slow

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but for the past week Safari has been acting a bit weird.
I have an iMac G5, and two MacBookPros and on all three Safari Version 4.0.5 (5531.22.7) refuses to load web pages as it used to. Either they won't load and I have to stop the load and press refresh in which case they load reeaalllly slowly if at all. I've looked for up dates, gone through Disk Utlilty and Repair, I've reset Safari, I've rebooted, but all to no avail.
Is anyone else in the same boat ? If so, which life-boat do we use ?

    Try this:
(First, if yours is an Intel Mac, check that Safari is not running in Rosetta, which is enough to slow it to a crawl. If you are running Snow Leopard, run Safari in 32 bit not 64 bit.
Open DNS also provides an anti-phishing feature: http://www.opendns.com/solutions/homenetwork/anti-phishing/ )

  • MBP 8,2 VERY strange problem

I've Googled for about a week and no one on the interwebs has described the same problem as I'm having, so here goes nothing...
Less than 24 hours after bootcamping my MBP8,2, I went to restart, using the "Boot Camp Control Panel" inside windows.  After the initial windows install, I hadn't been back into Mac OS until this point.  As I click "Restart", I walk away for about 5 minutes.  When I came back, the screen was still on the Gray Apple boot screen.  This is very unlike my Mac as this is an i7 with an SSD and 16GB of RAM.  I've recorded cold boot times of under 11 seconds.  So I hastily held down the power button and shut it down. (Lesson Learned) Upon reboot, while holding Option to ensure I select the Mac partition, I hear the Startup Chime, but the screen stays black…………… My stomach begins to tie itself into different variations of sailors knots.  And so begins the troubleshooting process:
    Completely black screen/No Backlight
No Image when showing flashlight through Apple/Holding the flashlight downward at the Screen
    Single Startup Chime
No Power to USB/Can not boot to external device
    DVD receives power/But I have a Non-functional SuperDrive
SMC Reset works, but has no affect
    PRAM Reset does not work
    No boot key combinations work
Sleep light fully illuminated and responds to auto-dimming when blocking light sensor by iSight
Keyboard backlight does not turn on
    No caps lock light
    No volume change sounds
    Fans running on low
HDD Spins up (Swapped out SSD for an old HDD to see if it was getting power)
Removing/Reseating each RAM stick does not have any affect, tried with each one in, different slots, etc. Every possible combination.
Detaching Optical Drive has no effect
Detaching Hard Disk Drive has no affect
SSD still works when mounted in another computer.
I think I covered everything.  I'm trying to avoid a trip to the Apple Store, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First off, very good troubleshooting, it is refreshing to have someone who provides more information other than "it don't work".
I assume since you said no boot key combinations work that it wouldn't boot to safe mode.
You did say you were able to hold option and select the Mac HD, does your recovery partition show up here? Are you able to boot to recovery? Also, are you able to get back into Windows at this point?

  • Can't log in to my account after system crash

I'm looking for help with a bizarre problem that just started on my mac. I was using the computer (just using Safari, Mail, etc., nothing fancy) and got the message that my disk was full and I should quit some programs to free up space. I check my startup disk and I have over 5 GB free. So I ignored, it came back... This happened a few times and then Mail froze up (spinning beachball of death), I tried to force quit it, but no luck, then the whole machine froze up. The beachball was still spinning and the cursor would move, but nothing else. I tried ssh-ing in from another machine on my LAN to kill programs, but ssh never responded, so I had to force a reboot.
My machine seemed to restart fine and came up to the login window. I type in my username and password, it responds like it has successfully validated my info and is going to log in, then the background changes, changes back, and the login window reappears. I am able to log into another account that I have on the machine (which is how I am posting this). I have examined the console and system logs and found this:
Nov 1 21:14:42 Vrksasana /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindow: Login Window Application Started

    Nov 1 21:14:59 Vrksasana crashdump\[555\]: loginwindow crashed
I'm concerned that this may be a hard drive problem, but I'm hoping that someone knows what is going on here and can provide a somewhat less drastic solution than reformatting the drive. One thought I had was a (or multiple) corrupted file(s) in ~/Library, but I don't know where to start...
Any help is greatly appreciated! (and in the meantime I'll be attempting to update my backups...)
    Thanks!
    peter

This problem was not ever actually resolved. I simply updated my backups via firewire target mode and then did an erase & install.

  • Connection Problem while client is behind proxy and server out side proxy

    hello

but when my server is on internate and client is behind proxy and try to connect with server
it not able to connect i get exception.
i serch most of forum i got same answer and i try it but i was not success.
any kind of help is appriciated.
i attached my code(which i implement for testing ) pls reply me

  • Excel files with fields linked to other excel files take a long time to open from SharePoint library

Trying to track a problem for a user.
Most of the documents opened from our SharePoint libraries appear to open in a timely fashion.
But...one user has noticed an issue, and I just noticed something with her files that are a little less common than other stuff we've seen.
she has a lot of pricelist excel files.  there are some master price list files, and then other files that link to fields from within the master files.
the files that contain links to other files appear to be the ones that open very slowly.
the files are being opened via excel itself, not the owa viewer or editor.
is there a trick to setting up either the library, the site, site collection or web app... or some client-side setting that affects how quickly/efficiently excel will open files that link to other excel files shared within sharepoint?

    Hi  carphuntin_god,
According to your description, my understanding  is that when you click a hyperlink which redirect to other files , the file are opened very slowly via excel client.
How about you download the same file and open it using excel client? If it is opened quite fast, the issue should be caused by some third-party add-ins in the office program or antivirus soft.
Here is a similar thread you can have a look:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ff0c5306-5300-4010-a760-c4cca320b6fc/excell-file-taking-long-time-to-open-and-edit?forum=officesetupdeploylegacy

If you want to open the files using excel service after click the link in the excel file, you can create the hyperlink in the following way:
    General Syntax:
    http://<server_name>/<site_name>/_layouts/ xlviewer.aspx?id=<workbook path>&range=<location>
    For example:
    http://CorpServer/DeptA89/_layouts/ xlviewer.aspx?id=http://Mfct/Stats/Shared%20Documents/Parts.xlsx&range=Widgets!A1:F25
    For more information:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/sharepoint-server-help/using-hyperlinks-in-excel-services-HA010173679.aspx
If you want to open the files using Office Web Apps after click  the link in the excel file,  you can create the hyperlink in the following way:
    http://<server name> / <site name> / <library name>/<your file name> ?web=1
    For example:
    http://sp/Shared%20Documents/exceltest.xlsx?Web=1

  • Memory Increase - MacBook Pro mid-2012...?

Hello to all who reads this post…
I’m wondering if it's possible to upgrade the memory in my mid-2012 MacBook Pro...?
I believe this should be fairly simple and relatively inexpensive. However, after reading some of the forum posts & reviewing my systems specs on Apple's specs pages , I've become less sure of the possibility to increase the RAM.
My system specs indicate that my memory is upgradable:  Memory Slots ECC:  Disabled     Upgradeable Memory: Yes
One of Apple’s Support pages I came across seems to indicate that my systems RAM can only be upgraded to 8 GB’s max…(but now I’m thinking they mean 8 gigs max per memory slot) and the spec's page on the site seems to indicate that 8GB is the MAX for my MB-pro…?
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1270
Do any of the guru's here know how much, (if any), memory I can add to the 8 gigs of RAM currently installed?
If so, what brand of memory and how much of a memory expansion would be best to boost the speed of my MacBk?
I’m hoping the memory increase will give my system an extra boost & extend the lifespan of my Mac…. ( not to mention that my 3 year old son is getting more and more involved with gaming apps…the type of apps that become resource hogs, hogs that love RAM chips..) In any case, I’d like to increase the 8GB of RAM to 16 GB or 32GB and I would truly appreciate any thoughts, advice, feedback, shout outs, etc…
In any case, here are my system spec details:

I’m hoping I can increase the memory simply because she is starting to slow down a bit and I want to install a little extra boost while also prolonging the lifespan of my Mac….( not to mention that my 3 year old is getting more and more involved with gaming apps…)

A mid 2012 MBP will accept up to 16 GB RAM (even though Apple says 8 GB).  The specifications are:204-pin PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM.  The best sources of Mac compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial.
Look at this video for installation instructions:

You will need a #00 Phillips driver to take off the bottom panel.

  • MacBook Pro and iPhone 4S Repeatedly drop WiFi

First off I didn't know what category to put this question in because it really is AirPort, MacBook Pro, and iPhone 4S at once.
So I have a different home network setup than most, I have 2 routers on my network. Now before you start pointing fingers, all other devices work perfectly on it. I have two Netgear WNDR3300s, only one is DHCP, UPnP, NAT, etc... And they have separate channels. My family members' iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPod 4, and iPad Mini, all work perfectly on this network at a blazing 20Mbps (Tested using Ookla's SpeedTest Website and iOS App). My iPhone 4S and MacBook Pro continuously drop the wifi signal at random times and I am no more than 5 feet from the nearest router. Here are the details in a less condensed form...
    Network:
    Cable Modem Arris TG722
    v
    Cat 5e Cable
    v
Router 1 (DHCP, NAT, UPnP, Channels 6g and 157n) Netgear WNDR3300 DualBand Router
    v
Cat 5e Cable (Connected to 1 of the 4 LAN ports on BOTH routers)
    v
Router 2 (No DHCP, No NAT, No UPnP, Channels 11g and 149n) Netgear WNDR3300 DualBand Router
    v
    MacBook Pro
    iPhone 4S
    MacBook Pro
    - Mid 2010
    - 13 Inch
    - OSX: 10.8.5
    - Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    - Memory: 8GB 1067MHz DDR3
    iPhone 4S
    - Bought about 3 months after release
    - Condition: Like New
    Routers
    Netgear WNDR3300
    Firmware up to date
    Non-interfereing channels
    Connected via CAT-5e
DCHP, NAT, UPnP only on one.
Something to note is that I do have AirPlay on my network passing through a first gen AirPort Express and second gen Apple TV on an Ethernet CAT-5e connection. I most often drop wifi when streaming to the AirPort Express, however it also occurs at other times. The devices do drop it randomly however, I was streaming music and it dropped 3 hours in when I did nothing.
I consider myself very tech savvy, of course that is opinionated. At this point I am clueless because of the randomness of the connection refusal and how all other devices are ok.
Not sure if I mentioned it but if I try to recconect to the netowkr after it drops it either says "Timed out" on Mac or "Unable to connect" on iPhone.
I am so confused now... If you have any ideas please let me know!
P.S. The two devices operate much better on my network when it only has one router, but I must have 2 for the range and versatility.
If any more information is needed please let me know.

I upgraded to OSX Mavericks and I am still having the same problem on both devices. It is occuring more and more often to the point where I almost broke something .
Something weird to note is that every time it drops, I will try to reconnect. When I do so, it says failiure still, but the new window on Mavericks has the diagnostics button. As soon as I hit that button the wifi jumps right back, working perfectly. (Of course then I will lose it 5 minutes later).
If anyone has any ideas please let me know!!!

  • Apple TV and iTunes problem - Different Twist

I, too, can no longer get Apple TVs to show up in my iTunes device list.
It DID work until last week when I downloaded two movies. They ATVs (three of them) got stuck in syncing, and were still "syncing" four days later. I quit the app, restarted it, and now all the ATVs are gone.
The twist is, the ATVs DO show up on my MBP and another iMac on the same local network. Just not on my 27 inch iMac.
I deleted (correctly and completely) iTunes and reinstalled - no success.
I created a new (clean) user account - no success.
I wiped the hard drive clean and reinstalled the software - no success.
This HAS to be a hardware problem with the iMac.
Any other ideas or observations or suggestions?

Question: Do you mean you removed the AppleTv from the list in iTunes or the iTunes library from the list in AppleTV Settings>Computers?
Answer: It disappeared from iTunes and couldn't be deleted. I disconnected/deleted from ATV's settings.
OK, good that lets you add the new library to AppleTV
Question: New user account on the computer or new iTunes account added to AppleTV?
Answer: On the iMac. I AM able to connect another Mac's iTunes library to the ATV and sync it. I just can't add or sync THIS one.
You can only sync a single library with AppleTV
    Therest are shared/streaming libraries.
Question: Did you have to set them up in AppleTV again or were they sharing libraries always known to appleTV?
Answer: They appeared in the other computers iTunes device lists, saying "Apple TV click to set up" - just as they do at this very minute.
Ah ok, you haven't actually set them up on those machines.
I would turn those off just in case they're interfering with the one you want to sync being allowed a slice of the cake.
Question: If you'd factory restored AppleTV you would have to set these up again on AppleTV.
Answer: I don't understand, but, making an assumption, when I reset the ATV, I downloaded the update, went to connect to the network, and that connection request was received by all Macs on the network (Apple TV click to set up) except the iMac.
I've never had my other macs turned on when trying to add an AppleTV - it's possible they could be causing problems by catching the request for th e5 digit code before the reset computer.
    Question: Why both?
Answer: Just for a belt and suspenders - I was troubleshooting.
Question: Do you have 2 separate local networks? If they do not see each other this could be the problem - try both individually if you haven't.
Answer: No, I have only one. And, the iMac can see the other computers, mount them, etc., and vice versa. The ONLY apparent network problem is the ATV/iTunes/iMac problem described here.
I hope I am less confusing now?
    Yes, getting clearer!
Do you have any kind of extra firewall/security software on the affected machine eg Little Snitch or something like that?

  • Rev2:  2 Apple IDs on the same computer?

My partner has her own Apple ID/account and her own Mac running 10.7.  She uses the Mac App Store.
I have my own Apple ID/account and an iPhone running iOS 5.1.  I also have a Mac running 10.5 and I will upgrade that later (compatibility issues).
I have a second user account on her computer.  (you know, System Prefs / Accounts).
When I am logged on my account on her computer, I want to use the App Store to buy Angry Birds.  She doesn't like it, and doesn't want to pay for it on her account.  She could care less if it's installed in my account / the computer.
I want to use my Apple ID/account to pay for it, so, when I upgrade my computer, I can install it there instead.
    With me so far?
OK I am trying to buy it.  The App Store is fighting me, re-asking all these questions relating to my Apple account that I've already answered on my main computer.   (yes, it's my account, for sure.)
And I found this thing in the App Store Terms and Conditions:
(ii) An Associated Device can be associated with only one Account at any given time.
(iii) You may switch an Associated Device to a different Account only once every 90 days.
So hold on a minute. Is this "Associated Device" her COMPUTER?
Can we NOT have her Apple-ID-bought apps on her login account and mine on mine on the same computer?
If I buy Angry Birds, will I be switching her computer to be associated with my ID instead of hers?    Will that break her installed apps?  Break her ability to buy new apps with her account?   Break her ability to listen to her own iTunes?
    Help!!!

    1. Yes, the content from more than one Apple ID can be installed on the same computer. The proviso is that the computer must be authorized in the iTunes App/Store menu to use the content.
    2. The reason that you are being asked additional information is because this is the first time that you have used this computer to access your iTunes account. Apple has strengthened its security procedures to prevent folks having their accounts hacked. It is legitimate and you are not being scammed. Apple has also added additional security questions and when Apple has obtained new content licenses for the things sold in the iTunes stores we all must sign new user agreements.
    3. Anything that you agree to regarding using and authorizing your account on your GFs computer has no consequence regarding her account with Apple.
