At launch Firefox updater keeps asking permission to update, how do I permanently stop that?

In the past when I've updated Firefox it has made my add-ons stop working, however I've never had any virus problem as I have other programs to handle that. So for me, updating Firefox is more of an inconvenience than a benefit (not to mention changes in layout that I'm used to and stuff like that). I do not want to update, and I've gone into the settings and turned the Update settings to never. Yet, every time I open Firefox I get a popup first from Windows telling me that Firefox updater wants permission to update Firefox. It's annoying, to the point that I'm going to switch over to Chrome if there's no way to solve this, but I'd prefer not to as I've always liked Firefox.
How do I tell Firefox Updater once and for all that I do not want to update and do not want to be asked about it ever again?

Just for the record, the two security updates released in the past few days were due to vulnerabilities exposed at "Pwn2Own", an annual hacking event.
I actually don't understand why you are getting those prompts from Windows. It sounds as though the update was already downloaded and staged before you started Firefox up again. I vaguely recall reading some threads a year or two back about clearing out a downloaded update but the details elude me.
Unrelated: Your More System Details shows you have a an optional user.js settings file. If you did not create this file yourself, it may contain settings added by other software that override your previous session preferences at startup. You may want to investigate.
